#10136 | Installed newest version (3.10.0.2), quickconnect no longer works | low | rejected | 9 years | Windows
Description |
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Status: Initializing TLS... Status: Verifying certificate... Status: TLS connection established. Status: Server does not support non-ASCII characters. Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory listing... Loggin in hangs at this point. Looks like people are saying to change an FTP setting in site manager, and that works, but I want to be able to access my 2 sites the old way -- using the quick connect bar. If this can't be resolved quickly, how can I download the previous working version (people are complaining about the last TWO updates). Thanks, Jason What do I change in settings to make it work again? |

#10139 | Transfer problem | normal | rejected | 9 years | Windows

I have noticed a problem when I move files from a workstation on the network server, the data transfer will stop frequently when there is no longer one second remaining. This arrest may take up to 90 seconds, but usually shorter period of Time. If I transfer files from the server to the workstation so the same problem does not exist. Why? Client and server are on the same home network (192.168. ...) And the number of simultaneous users is not. |

#10147 | multitude of errors after latest update | low | rejected | 9 years | Windows
Description |
I made the mistake of upgrading the FileZilla client this morning and now I get nothing but errors when attempting to connect to my server and upload files. I get certificate warnings when I connect to the server. I get recurring "421 too many connections..." error messages, followed by "Could not connect to the server". When I can get connected, the process of getting a directory listing from the server is incredibly slow. If I do get a listing, then attempting to upload a file goes nowhere. None of these things was a problem yesterday. So, thanks. |

Hi, I have been unable to connect to my usual servers after I updated FileZilla yesterday. It was working fine before the update. Error message: Connection timed out ... Could not connect to server. Furthermore, I could reach the server and do normal upload functions via FireFTP, which is not my first choice. I definitely prefer FileZilla. Thanks. Anu |

Hello, please bear with me, I am very much a newbie. I barely know how to upload files, but have been doing that through you for a while and all was going fine until recently when I updated my version of FileZilla. I keep getting error messages, such as "Failed to retrieve directory listing", and can't connect to my website(s)on my main computer. I called GoDaddy for help, and they thought it might be my browser or firewall, but nothing changed and I don't think that's it. Then I tried to upload via my laptop, which had an older version of FileZilla, and it worked fine. I asked my friend who told me about FileZilla a few years ago, and he suggested I report the issue, because maybe no one else has noticed it. I can't imagine that I'd be the only one, but don't know what else to do. Here is the message I've been getting: " Status: Connecting to 160.153.59.0:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Status: Initializing TLS... Status: Verifying certificate... Status: TLS connection established. Status: Server does not support non-ASCII characters. Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory listing... Bear in mind it's hard for me to comprehend much of this at all. I hope I am using the proper protocol to ask for help. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Steve |

#10165 | Proxy ignored for SFTP connections (Regression from 3.9.0.6) | normal | fixed | 9 years | Windows
Description |
Since version 3.10.0, connections through SFTP always ignore any proxy settings I might have configured. 3.9.6 and older do not. I've got it configured to use a HTTP proxy, over port 443. The "Bypass Proxy" setting for the connection I use is not checked. The console shows the following lines (after enabling detailed output): Response: fzSftp started Command: proxy 1 "proxy.domain.com" 443 Command: open "user@site.com" 2222 But then it actually does a direct connection instead. I confirmed this by looking at my firewall's network connections view, netstat, and by the fact that I'm no longer speed-limited by the proxy. I've downgraded until the issue disappeared, and found that the proxy 3.9.6 and older versions do not have this issue. I assume it's caused by the "Updated SFTP components from PuTTY" change introduced in 3.10.0-beta3, but I might be wrong. |

#10168 | File Sizes wrong on remote end | normal | fixed | 9 years | Windows
Description |
Hi, I have noticed an issue with the file sizes on a remote server. Most of the files on the remote end have a size that's the real size of the file minus 4x10243 (4gb). The files are fine on the remote SFTP server but the sizes displayed in FileZilla are wrong. Most of the files are between 4gb and 8gb in size. Here's some more information:
I tried changing the server type from 'Default (Autodetect)' to 'Unix' but there was no noticeable difference. I also tried using the 'Raw listing' in the debug menu but to no avail. This makes things a little wacky when resuming a transfer or calculating a transfer duration.. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there's need for extra info. Regards, Vincent |

#10215 | Updates Never not working | low | rejected | 9 years | Windows
Description |
Hello. I got an update recently which messed up my secure FTP functionality. As such, I installed the previous version of Filezilla client (btw, with one slip of the finger I was "rewarded" with extra software that was extremely annoying and was quite difficult to fully uninstall, nearly malware. I guess that's how Sourceforge rolls now, probably not your fault.) Anyway...because of the above, I tried the feature where in Settings... Updates you can choose "Never". This apparently doesn't work. Now I'm nagged every single time I use the program. And yes, I already know that there was some fix that deals with secure connections, so I might try my luck and see if the program works again for secure stuff. So I'd call it non-urgent priority, even though it's super annoying. :) Thanks for your help. |

Our Users are currently running FileZilla 3.10.1.1 and our FileZilla Server version is 0.9.43. We understand that there are newer versions of the FileZilla Server, but since this server is in production we do not want upgrade (which will affect other clients) until we know for sure other that it will address this issue. Other Technical information about this issue is: We have currently set up the Server to use FTPS on Port 990. The Server Certificate is a FileZilla generated cert using TLS 1.2 On the Server when the connection fails we can see a message in the log: "431 Could not initialize SSL connection" The clients are set to use: Protocol: FTP- File Transfer Protocal Encryption: Require implicit FTP over TLS Logon Type: Normal Additional information can be provided. ANY help with this issue will be greatly appreciated! Good Day, Chris K |

#10230 | duplicating files during upload | normal | outdated | 9 years | Windows
Description |
Several times with all version of FZ I have encountered messages saying the source file already exists in an otherwise empty directory I am populating. Searching the source for duplicates does not produce any. This most usually happens with very large uploads (3000 or more files) The timestamp on the source file is always older than the destination one. My solution has been to set "overwrite if source is newer which leaves the original transfer alone but the problem for me is it often takes hours to do this and sometimes it is next day before I find the message. FZ version 1.10.11 also shows occasional failed transfers :Could not start transfer. |

#10236 | Unknown Certificate with many SAN entries missing "Always trust certificate..." | high | fixed | 9 years | Windows
Description |
Since updating FileZilla Client from v3.10.0.2 to v3.10.1.1, when FileZilla prompts for my 'Unknown certificate' it no longer shows the checkbox for 'Always trust certificate for future sessions'. Certificate is within the Validity period and host address matches the SAN. This is self-signed, with many SAN entries to cover all accessible hostnames the FTP is accessed from internally and externally. I can only assume because of the number of SAN in the list, it pushes the checkbox off screen, and doesn't have anything to do with any problem or expiration of the certificate. Only other issues I found similar to this were expired certificates where the checkbox was visible, but not selectable. For me, it's not even visible. |

Hello, Since a couple of weeks, when I set a "speed limit" to my downloads, they start but about 5 minutes later, they "stop". Actually, the current transfer still appears, nothing apparently changes, but the speed freezes at its last value and the transfer stops in reality. I can stop the queue processing... I mean Filezilla is not "frozen". I can close and restart Filezilla to get it working again, but with the same problem 5 minutes later. Everything is ok if no speed limit is enabled. Any idea ? Thanks from France ! |

#10268 | r6137 breaks Windows build due to inclusion of process.h | high | fixed | 9 years | Windows
Description |
I'm using the version of MinGW specified in the build notes for Windows. As part of r6137, a process.h was included in FileZilla 3; this conflicts with the process.h that is shipped with MinGW, causing the build to fail (it fails with a bunch of undefined symbols; the root cause here is pthread.h is including process.h, picking up the FileZilla one instead of the MinGW one and causing the errors). I renamed the FileZilla process.h to fzprocess.h and changed the include files everywhere, and that seemed to solve the problem. |

When downloading to USB drive in Windows 7, if the drive disconnects for any reason the file download stops and does not restart when the drive reconnects. The file name of the partially downloaded file is moved to the successfully downloaded window instead of the download failed window. This makes you believe you downloaded the entire file successfully but instead you only downloaded part of the file and you have to check each file to make sure you downloaded all of the file. It used to work correctly in older versions of the client. I am using the following version: Version: 3.10.1.1 Build information:

Description |
When importing a Site Manager entry, the Base64-encoded password entry is treated as a plain-text password. Steps to reproduce (3.10.1.1 and 3.10.2-rc2): 1) File -> Export -> Export Site Manager entries 2) XML file contains a Base64-encoded password string, which correctly decodes to the plain-text password 3) Import the Site Manager entry 4) Password to the FTP site is not accepted anymore by the remote server 5) Repeat Site Manager Export 6) XML file contains a different, longer Base64-encoded password string, which decodes to a Base64-encoded password string from step 2, not the correct plain-text password |

Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity Error: Could not connect to server Status: Waiting to retry... Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity Error: Could not connect to server I am using IPv4 and IPv6 on my internal network, but I don't have IPv6 internet access (yet). By contrast, www.cisco.com currently has 3 addresses: 2a02:26f0:ca:286::90 2a02:26f0:ca:290::90 23.195.11.243 I can connect to that website, because the web browser (IE/Firefox) realises that the IPv6 address is inaccessible and so it uses IPv4 instead. I think that FileZilla should behave the same way for FTP sites. As a workaround, I typed in the IPv4 address for ftp.cisco.com (72.163.7.54) and then FileZilla connected successfully. |

#10290 | Unable to do a new Install of FileZilla_3.10.2_win32-setup on Windows7 and 8 | normal | fixed | 9 years | Windows

1) 2 days ago I tried to install FZ on the computer of a friend. This was a new installation. Environment: Windows 8 + internet Explorer (IE) + Kapersky as antivirus I analyzed the exe installation file once downloaded with Kapersky, no issue reported. When I executed the file, it was hanging with an empty or black pop-up windows openening. I had to stop the computer and restart it I think the file was around 700 ko ( the same size than the one mentioned by IE while confirming the download). 2) Today on my computer, where FZ is installed since a long time, and is runing as expected, I received an update and I see that FileZilla_3.10.2_win32-setup.exe is around 6064 Ko I got no issue while installing an using this new update. Then I tried to download FileZilla from FZ site on my computer: Windows 7 + Chrome + Norton Norton stopped the downloading sending messages as : "c90f.tmp (suspicious.Cloud9) deleted" At the end no file is downloaded the file c90f.tmp is loaded from http://cdn.qualitycontenthouse.com Is the downloaded file corrupted? or is it a malware? I have no more access to the Windows 8 environment and hope to have not installed a malware on this computer which is not mine. In both cases I started the download from: https://forum.filezilla-project.org/ and was redirected to sourceforge Thanks for your time |

I rolled back to the 3.9.0.5 version and the app began to work correctly. I now ignore the prompt to update each time it loads. I have other clients that use FileZilla and I recommend to them not to update until further notice about this problem being solved. |

#10298 | Error Replacing Files | normal | invalid | 9 years | Windows
Description |
Hi There, I have been experiencing an error lately when I attempt to drop files into folders that are intended to replace outdated files. Perhaps some context will help... We operate an online storefront for Neighborhood Health Plan. They have thousands of products which are identified by product codes. For example, one item might be labeled "11020". Each product has a thumbnail and full sized image which we drop into a directory in Filezilla, which we pull from when "creating the product". Thumbnail images have a _2 suffix, with _1 for the full sized image. Now, lets say they print a new version of 11020 with new graphics, new colors, etc.. In this case we would need to create and drop in new thumbnails. So I would Scale and crop the image, save as 11020_1 and 11020_2, and drop it into the appropriate directory. When I do this, I see a prompt asking me If I want to replace the existing files with these new ones. I click yes to replace, but the file never gets swapped out. I find that the only option I have is to change the suffix to _T and _F for the new file to be available. There are several other ramifications for this replace file bug, but I figured this was the easiest way to describe it. |

Description |
I love FileZilla and have used this program for years. I've never had an issue until this latest batch of updates. The last version that works for me is 3.9.0.6. Anything after that installs and opens fine. However, when trying to connect to my saved website (as I always have in the past - changing nothing), I get the message that it is "Retrieving directory listing...". It sits there for almost 30 seconds, then quickly spools through a few commands and ends with the red "Error: Connection timed out" and "Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing". Nothing in the settings for the connection has been changed, yet every version after the one listed gives me this problem. I have resorted to downgrading to the last working build to be able to access my websites. What is happening and how can I fix it? |
