My company (Flatirons Solutions Corp.) uses FileZilla for their hosting. I have had the same password for over a year now, and even signed in the other day, but for some reason my acct is locked out now? How do I unlock that? Thanks, Kate

Whenever I try to replace my index.html file and attached folders and such from updated ones in my documents folder, they don't overwrite.

The overwrite window gets brought up, I always pick: "Overwrite", and it doesn't replace it because the file size stays how it was before the file transfer.

I've tried uploading it to the root folder and then moving to the public_html folder but nothing works. Actually what I've noticed is that initially when it's uploaded, for a split second, it replaces, then the file size goes back to normal.

Even removing the index.html file and going to the site in my browser still seems as though the index file is still uploaded when it's not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When we have multiple tabs open for an FTP site all the tabs have the same name. User has to click on each tab to look for the folder that he needs. It would be great if we could right click on a tab and rename it as we like

I am trying to download files and after 5 minutes connection is aborted. The files are about 1.5 GB. Previously the time estimate was 1.5 hours. Now it is over 8. This has been going on for about week. Possibly occuring after the leatest version was downloaded.

With an account I connect to via SFTP, which has a section sign (§) in its password, I can not authenticate. If I remove just that single character from the password, it works though.

Authentication and usage works with other Client WinSCP; so it is very probably an issue of FileZilla.

Please add the option to log off the currently logged in user.

I have never really understood the need to either reboot a system after a file transfer completes (perhaps the rare case that you are transferring a file that is read after boot) however the case I frequently need to do is: start a file upload, leave the system unattended, when the upload completes log off the user performing the upload.

For windows my current work around is use "run command..." and do "shutdown /l /f" however it would be nice if this was integrated in to the program itself as I do not know the equivalent command for Mac or Linux which I sometimes need to do also.

I made a theme using 24x24 icons (like others windows toolbars). Unfortunately the suported icons size are hardcoded in file : /FileZilla3/trunk/src/interface/themeprovider.cpp

It's can be a good idea to add support to all other formats or at least 20x20, 24x24 and 64x64 sizes.

Files and folders with special characters in names are not displayed if you selected the ASCII character set for upload and the UTF-8 character set for Download.

Test:

1. Create a file with the name ctestäöü.txt
2. Set the character set in "Charset" - "Use costum charset" to "ASCII" (or use any other non UTF-8 FTP-Client).
3. Upload this file to your utf-8 ftp server.
4. Switch the character set in "Charset" - "Autodetect" or "Force UTF-8".
5. The file will no longer dosplayed!

I find the remote file search very useful but also restricting. For example, I often search for error logs and having several subdomains I end up with a long list.

Invariably I want to open a file to see, and often edit its contents but I can't do so without waiting for the search to finish (or stopping the search).

Could I suggest one or more of the following in order of preference:

1. To be able to click on a file in the list and read/edit it.
2. For the search results form not to be a fixed dialog so that one can perform other functions whilst it is running (for example open and edit a file from the main FZ screens).
3. Export a copy of the search results so that they can easily be referred to outside FZ (say in notebook)

When I download a file from a VMS server the filename created on my local directory har the version file number, ex.: file.txt;2 It would be interesting if filezilla ignores the version number and create the file without the version number.

Can we get a tool to count the total usage at an FTP site? I use comcast, and they limit me to 2 GB. However, they have no way to tell my my usage. So when I try to put something on their site, they truncate it to keep me below the 2GB limit. Since I maintain several folders, I cannot tell, using FileZilla, just how much storage I have used.

The file filters on this program are an awesome tool, but because they are 'set and forget' program wide - the implication is that if I set up my filter to exclude .aspx files on one site, that I never want to see .aspx files anywhere, ever, without remembering that I have filters on and remembering to turn them off.

1) Filename filters set in the tool bar should be for the current program only and not 'saved' 2) Permanent (resettable, of course) filename filters should be part of the Site Manager Inital setup. That way, when I want to deal with client A's web site, I log on via Site Manager site_a_web which has the filename filters set for that job. Later, when I want to log on to client A's data base, I use site_a_data and the filters from "a_web" aren't interfering.

All this is because I use Filezilla on so many different sites for so many different purposes... in fact I can't imagine a situation where my preference is never to transfer a file of a certain type world-wide.

In conjunction, a quick ON/OFF button for filtering would be helpful A button right near the file panels (not way up on the tool bar) that lets be know that Filters (by whatever configuration) are either on or off - and allows me to toggle.

In the version 2.x of FileZilla, we have the functionnality of "SOCKS 4" in the Proxy.

Some Proxy like Microsoft TMG use only SOCKS 4 and not SOCKS 5, so we can't use FileZilla with this software and it is a missing.

Could you re-add this functionnality ?

Our websites are on the D: drive of the remote server. My local site folders are inside of My Documents/Sites, but the My Documents folder is on a network drive which is mapped to the K: drive. The bug happens even if I use the UNC path as well.

When connecting to any of the sites with synchronized browsing enabled, it fails. I noticed that the path it is using for the local folder includes the drive letter (D:) which is the remote location's drive letter.

After the connection is made, I can then enable synchronized browsing, which seems to work properly.

I have attached a screenshot to show you the error message and also the verbose log.

How to reproduce:

Create two files with different content on your ftp server: /path/to/file/file.php /path/to/file/File.php

(Notice that the files have identical names except for the letter case.)

Right click file.php and choose edit. Your editor opens the file. So far so good. Right click File.php and again choose edit.

A dialog opens saying: "File Changed. The file '/private/var/folders/zz/y5zdkqw11yv2btyvl9y6r3tr000gn/T/fz3temp-1/file.php' has been changed on the file system. Do you want to replace the editor contents with these changes?"

Expected behavior: The file "File.php" is opened in the editor.

If you look in the temp folder, a file with correct letter case is saved. But when FileZilla reads from the temp folder, it doesn't distinguish the files. This can lead to overwriting the contents of the other file.

Hi, I accidently deleted my public-html. How do I get it back?

This happened because I accidentally let go of the mouse while dragging, and by instinct clicked-and-dragged again though I ended up dragging the wrong file. I had to Force Quit to get out of it.

Steps to reproduce:

1. In FileZilla, access any FTP site (preferably a test folder) and have a same-named file in both panes. The idea is if you drag from the left pane to the right, the 'overwrite' dialog appears. The right pane should have some other files in it too.
2. Start a click-and-drag transfer from the left pane and move it over the right.
3. Drop the file in the right pane, but *immediately* start click-and-dragging a file from the right pane and immediately drop that in the same pane.

This essentially starts two click-and-drag transfers. Correctly, two dialog boxes pop up. This is where the problem starts... one is the usual 'overwrite' dialog, the other is the 'both source and destination are identical' dialog.

Having these two dialog boxes onscreen at the same time makes everything unclickable. The program is clearly not crashed or frozen, it's just impossible to click anything. The dialog boxes cannot be closed. To get FileZilla working again, you must Force Quit it and start it up again.

When I import XML to generate a transfer queue, and the files in the XML have relative paths for the remote file I get some strange behaviour depending on which settings are used.

Let’s say I have 2 files to be processed, folder1/file1.txt and folder2/file2.txt => Note the 2 file paths are relative paths, not absolute

If I have set up a maximum of 1 simultaneous transfers *

• The first file is uploaded to /{home directory}/folder1/file1.txt
• When that completes, the second file starts and because it is relative path adds to the current path, so it gets uploaded to /{home directory}/folder1/folder2/file1.txt

I presume this is because FileZilla reuses the connection, and so after the transfer the current folder is folder1, not the home directory. The second one then just adds to it.

If I have the queue set up to more than 2 or more simultaneous transfers Then this time, because 2 connections are made, they both get changed relative to the home directory and so I get the files placed here:-

• The first file to /{home directory}/folder1/file1.txt
• The second file to /{home directory}/folder2/file2.txt

Depending on the number of threads I have to upload I get totally different results! Another reason I am pretty certain it is a bug is that because if the XML file used puts all the files in the same batch folder, then regardless of the using 1 or multiple threads, they always go in the same folder! So similar example, there are 2 files samefolder/test1.txt and samefolder/test2.txt. When this runs with either 1 or >=2 threads the files are uploaded to:-

• The first file to /{home directory}/samefolder/file1.txt
• The second file to /{home directory}/ samefolder /file2.txt

That goes totally different to what you expect after my test above

* The number of connections does not actually have to be 1, it just has to be less than the total number of files being uploaded. So if I have 5 files going to 5 different folders, I would get the bug happening if I used 1, 2, 3, or 4 connections. If I used 4 connections however, then 4 of the files would upload properly and only the 5th file which reused an older connection puts the folder in the wrong place.

Every time I tried to upload a file from the Local Site (my usb or local hard drive) to the Remote Site I have been denied access. Up until a couple months ago, this was never a problem and then one day the FileZilla client denied me access. It has been this way ever since then. I have tried downloading the client onto other computers and tried uploading from there. I am the only one who accesses FileZilla.

I checked the permissions of the remote file and when I checked the properties, the settings is on "777" but I'm still not allowed to move any local files into the remote files. Thoughts on how to proceed?

Hi, Currently while using Filezilla Client 3.5.3 if we want to change the TCP Window Size we have to close the application, edit the 'Socket recv buffer size (v2) parameter' value in FileZilla.xml and then relaunch the application.

It will be much more easier if this can be made a feature in the settings menu within the application (an example is 'Jperf' where you can directly specify the TCP Window Size on the main window of the application).

Using the 5/24 nightly - when I open a connection from the site manager toolbar button and choose to open in new tab, the server console area is not resized to account for the tab bar and it draws over the toolbar. Screenshot attached

I scanned my local server with nessus and got an interesting warning:

"Synopsis: It may be possible to obtain sensitive information from the remote host with SSL/TLS-enabled services. Description: A vulnerability exists in SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 that could allow information disclosure if an attacker intercepts encrypted traffic served from an affected system. I am not sure, if this issue is really a security issue. A possible solution should be, to disable TLS 1.0 support. I understand, that this is a compatibility problem, but perhaps you could add an option to disable it. So everybody can decide, if he wants compatibility or more security. I am running Filezilla Server Version 0.9.41 with FTP over SSL/TLS enabled.

I received a verification email which I have activated, however I have not received an email with details of the hostname and port on.. I have checked my spam but nothing has come through.

It would be nice to have an indication in the server interface application on how people are connecting to the FTP server. That is whether or not they are using the SSL method (implicit/explicit) or the old plain clear text method.

When I have allowed privacy extension on windows IPv6 (so client have 2 or more IPs) filezilla client use pernament, not temporary IP (see on server log), which is wrong.

I think this is bug not req, because this is about client security.

I have a tendency to need to do the same default batch of actions (which I have in a cmd file) every time I finish uploads to server xxx. I'd like to see the "Action after Queue Completion" dialogue have a dropdown box with the most recently previously executed actions for the server I'm currently connected to. This would allow me to just select it from the dropdown, vs. type it in all over again.

Each day I SFTP a file to a home server. Once a week, I SFTP two files (one more file each week) to the home server. When I do this, I open up two connections at once - the weekly one in the first tab, and then the daily one in the second (to take advantage of the reconnect feature the next day). I start both transfers, and then I leave for a few minutes to complete other tasks. When I return, both have finished, and the file shows up in the weekly connection's (first tab opened) remote directory listing. When I switch the tab to the daily one (second tab opened), the file does not show up in the remote directory listing until I manually refresh.

I have been doing this for a few months now and have noticed consistent behavior. It has been a while since I have opened the connections in the reverse order (daily first, weekly second), but I will test this tomorrow. I can also further test this to see if it matters which tab is the one being displayed, as I'm not sure if I was always on the same tab when I walk away.

To clarify, in case it wasn't clear, I have multiple connections saved for the same server that just have different default local and remote directories. It's always the same user that I authenticate with. Remote server is Linux. Protocol is standard SSH with password authentication.

Hello, i have a bug which i have to admit, is annoying me alot!

When my server disconnects me after inactivity (SFTP connection) i get the "Status: Disconnected from server" and all, but if i then click on a file or folder, such as ".." it will go to "Command: cd ".."" and not first reconnect to the server and then go to that folder.

A temporary fix is to press "Disconnect from current server" button, then press it again.

On Windows platforms newer than WinXP besides SetFilePointer+SetEndOfFile preallocation method which fills required disk space with zeros which might take a lot of time in case of a very large file, there is another literally instant function: SetFileValidData (see MSDN), it just claims disk space leaving intact whatever data there was.

Despite common belief that fragmentation isn't an issue, it's quite the opposite - 1+GB files downloaded in such applications as FileZilla Client which doesn't preallocate disk space, are extremely slow to copy and work with when mounted and impose absolutely unnecessary huge load on HDD due to a lot of disk seeks.

Apparently only a few win32 ftp clients can preallocate space and none of them uses SetFileValidData. Out of about 20 most popular ftp clients I've tested, only Flashget and NetTransport had the feature. Actually I've searched all files on my PC and out of hundreds of small and large win32 apps that constantly deal with creation of files, large and small, only VirtualDub and uTorrent use SetFileValidData, also the latter allows user to select whether he prefers instant preallocation, complete with zeroing or none of the two.

There was a similar ticket (#1486) 7 years ago and now it's already 2012 but FileZilla Client still doesn't preallocate space.

Would be nice to have an option to upload files in upper or lower case.

Some computer systems are case sensitive; that is; *.JPG are not the same as *.jpg and these files are not recognized.

I have used other FTP programs that have this handy option.

FileZilla operated correctly when the space was removed - ie from "RT cycles 1.csv" to "RT cycles1.csv"

When clicking on a folder in the remote file list, I'd like a browser-style 'open in new tab' context menu item that would open a new tab with the folder's contents.

Upon starting Filezilla client, I cannot see on the screen that it is doing anything while checking for updates. The time needed for this activity, especially on first use after start-up, suggests there should be at least an indication (hourglass or the like) that the client is at work indeed.

If you choose a networkpath on the left side the folder tree grows VERY slow. This problem only exists if I use a VPN-Tunnel (2 Fritzboxes). If i am in the same lan the problem not appears. Other Software (including Windows Explorer) are building the tree normaly.

When doing drag & drop upload / download(i.e. from the left file list to right file list or vice versa) in Mint Linux 12, Cinnamon 1.4, a segmentation fault is thrown and the application crashed.

On three occasions now I have gotten into a supposed drag state in the server tab with no intention and no cue (that I noticed) that I was in that state. The first time a whole document root and thus its site "disappeared" for a while. After finding it, I assumed I must indeed have dragged it into the adjacent folder in haste with a sloppy-slidy click or double-click, because I was rushing half an hour before a big demo.

But now I see it is possible somehow to unknowingly initiate a drag state (by sloppy click?), then scroll around for a while (many seconds) with no mouse button held, then click on a folder and Filezilla "drops" or attempts to drop the folder it thought you were dragging. At least in the server tab. I'm reluctant to experiment too much with trying to duplicate this.

I haven't been experiencing this in any other application.

It's dangerous enough that I looked all around for an option to disable dragging of files or folders in Filezilla but apparently it can't be disabled.

I really like FZ but now I'm very nervous I'll damage a site again without noticing. This third time, the only reason it didn't happen was because the folder I clicked was a subfolder of -- again -- the document root. A less obvious moved folder could go unnoticed.

In Windows, you use the Start Menu only to start programs or access things not available in programs.

Filezilla is violating this paradigm by including the uninstaller as a start menu item. It's unnecessary because Windows users use the Control Panel to remove programs.

If you eliminate the uninstaller, you don't even need a FileZilla FTP Client folder folder in the Start Menu, eliminating a "dry click" and exposing FileZilla immediately when a user clicks on All Programs (in Windows 7).

This would make FileZilla be like other popular Windows programs, like Adobe Reader, GIMP, Pidgin, KeePass, Mozilla Firefox, Wireshark, and more.

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate, English version and latest version of FileZilla, FileZilla Client. Suddenly, I have one folder I cannot delete. I can rename it, but not delete it. We have tried from several computers in different locations. Here is the full information below as requested.

Filezilla version: 3.5.3

I am connecting to two server over LAN. When I queue and process file downloads from both servers concurrently in a FZ client session, the client freezes and must be force-closed.

The servers are slightly unusual in that they are embedded servers in Topcon GPS receivers. The server software enforces a strict limit of one connection per receiver. I have configured this limitation in the Site Manager (Limit Number of Simultaneous Connections = 1).

If a subsequent connection is attempted, the receiver will return a 530 error message and disconnect. This behavior has been observed using Topcon NetG3A receivers as well as Topcon GB1000.

I have tried this using multiple client PCs (Asus netbooks, Dell desktops, laptops) using various operating systems from Vista to XP to Windows 7.

By contrast, if I open two separate filezilla client instances, and start a concurrent queue of downloads in each of these separate filezilla instances, the downloads work just fine. So this seems to point to some kind of race condition, or perhaps a connection isn't getting closed in the right order, when downloading within the same filezilla instance.

Toolbar disappears after site connection.. I toggle "Toolbar" and it reappears..

Hi! I have FileZilla 3.5.3, and it uses GnuTLS library (​http://www.gnu.org/software/gnutls/gnutls.html) to provide the secure connection. Since their where several improvements made on the GnuTLS, since 2.10.4 version (the one currently present in FileZilla 3.5.3) is it possible to upgrade to the most update 2.12.20, or to the 3.0.20 (if it doesn't brake things of course).

I request this because it seems to have problems connecting to the ftp.servage.net servers (after sending many files, like 700 of them) and seems to be something related to the GnuTLS... I'm not completely sure, but in the logs GnuTLS seems part of the problem.

After 2 days of repairing a hacking attack to some of my Internet-Domains I found out that filezilla stores my passwords in plain text by default. So I try to avoid this for future now. I found out that there is a Setting "Kiosk Mode" to control this behaviour. But when I try to set Kiosk Mode to 1 or 2 instead of 0, my Client seems to ignore this setting. I uninstalled the old version of Filezilla. I installed the current version Filezilla 3.5.3 from scratch Same behaviour.

Do you have any idea, what I could do else to make working my filezilla-client installation accepting my overridings of the default-settings (especially this hacker-friendly password-default-option) by using my fzdefaults.xml, which I located in .../Documents and Settings/<username>/Application Data/Filezilla/ ?

Like other users, I cannot delete files using a Mac. "Files" are files added from the left hand part of the FileZilla screen (which shows my folders and my desktop, including all the files I want to build into the website) by dragging and dropping them into the right hand part of the screen after I've chosen the specific place I want to save them (in my case, a file called "NewTest" in "Public HTML". (FileZilla doesn't give this screen a name; it's the one that has username, password, and port on the top.)

In the course of the project, we have uploaded various files from preliminary versions of the website we're building. They have served their purpose, and leaving them on the system will now cause only chaos and confusion. So they need to be deleted, and then replaced by newer files.

Now, I am working with a html/web guru who uses a Windows machine, and she deletes files from FileZilla very easily, by highlighting them and pressing the delete key.

That, however, does NOT work with my Mac (a MacBook Pro running MacOS 10.5.8) and a Safari browser. At this URL

another Filezilla user reports the same problem with their Mac, and their experience is the same as my own. In fact, I ran down the same list of possibiliities and workarounds, and none of them work.

Highlighting and pressing delete does NOT delete FileZilla files with a Mac.

1. Can you tell me how to delete files using a Mac?
2. I will have to migrate to another company if FileZilla can't solve the problem. Of course, I'd rather not do that, but we can't work with a non-functional server.

I've set up my server to enable implicit FTPS (port 990) but the unsecure connection method is still accepted too.

When I try to connect to the server using unencrypted method, everything works fine, no matter if I'm local or internet originated. But for FTPS, it's different. From local network, everything is fine, from the internet side the connection goes as far as switching to passive (PASV) mode. From there on, connection hangs. I checked the logs on my client and believe to know the cause (but not the solution): Upon switching to PASV mode, my client is given the local IP-address instead of the real 'outside' ip-address. It is as if the server suddenly believes this connection to be on the local net and thus not send the 'real' address.

I.o.w. when using FTPS and PASV mode enabled for all but local connections, Filezilla server is still sending the local ip-address together with the port nr to use for the passive connection to an external client trying to connect. This isn't so for unsecure connections and therefore I believe this to be a bug.

This issue has been discussed on the forums in several threads, but I don't think a formal bug report has ever been filed.

I don't think we know the exact cause or the exact repro steps, but sometimes Filezilla Server will report the wrong timestamp for files in the LIST reponse. The incorrect timestamp is always 7-8 minutes behind the real timestamp.

Filezilla accesses on startup files on mount points that it does not need (and imho should not) access.

In my case it accesses a mount point that is auto-mounted. Sometimes this mount point is not available and accessing it just blocks. This problem occurred on first usage of filezilla. So there should be no need to do anything on the mount point.

I could also imagine that the problems arise with mountable media like USB sticks, etc.

The FTP-style-link got implemented - unfortunately the HTTP one didnt.

I am a total noob, please help, Filezilla was setup for me and I have used it without problems for some months.

I followed a promp to upgrade to 3.5.3 from 3.5.2, As it said none of my settings would be altered I thought it would be fine.

Now when i go to log onto a server I get an error saying.....

I have found my settings for the server, port, port, login, password etc and they are all fine.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

After updated to 3.5.3 I get this error when I quit the program (roughly translated from Italian):

The instruction at "0x69577966" referred to memory location "0x69577966". Memory cannot be read.

My OS is Windows XP SP3 full updated.

Maybe a problem with my preferences or datas because I dont get this error if I dont open a previosly saved server profile (I saved a lot).

But I really dont know what to do...

When using "reconnect" (Ctrl-R) after starting FileZilla it would be great if FZ rememberred not only the connection IP and local and remote directory but also the "session", i. e. the Site Manager entry it was started from - with all its settings like "Use synchronized browsing". Otherwise, if synchronized browsing is useful for this site (I guess as it is for most websites), using reconnect makes no sense. I always have to go to the Site Manager to start the session instead of using "Reconnect".

This ticket is some similar to ticket #4746, but there it is about remembering settings made interactively. Maybe it's easyier to implement remembering only Site Manager entry.

I've updated a local file and even after hitting f5, right click and 'refresh' and closing and reopening filezilla, it's caching the old version of the file. I've checked in file explorer and it's seeing the new version, but filezilla is trapped in the past!

The only way I can upload my new file is to save it in a different location on my harddrive and then upload it.

'After going in and selecting the preferred SFTP certificate whether it is located on a network drive or local machine, Filezilla does not seem to save it in memory and I have to go in and reselect it at random times. Has anyone else had this problem yet?

Annoyance level bug. I connect from a machine in PDT Timezone, to a server (Linux, CentOS) in same PDT Timezone. FileZilla shows my times are an hour different. Both machines report they are PDT. For some reason, I can see at the beginning of the session this calculation (which is wrong):

My Windows 7 Professional machine clearly states it is PDT, as well my Linux server reports the same.

I've been using Filezilla for a long time now but I have always been concerned about the really low level of security it provided regarding to password storage - that is to say, no security (clear text). On Windows there are even now malwares that have been targeting Filezilla sitemanager.xml file....

So as I spare had time 2 days ago I decided to make a patch.

Here is what currently works:

• Turning on password encryption in the settings window and entering the master password.
• Storing the master password (encrypted using itself as password key) in the FileZilla.xml options
• Turning off password encryption...
• Starting filezilla in password encrypted mode and entering the master password at the start up of the application (if the user does not want to enter any password then FileZilla will close).
• Building on GNU/Linu x86

I use the Crypto++ cross platform library which has integrated packages for most GNU/Linux distributions and has a non-viral license.

What I would need help for, in order to finalize this patch:

• Explanations about the build process of FileZilla. I added a class called CCrypto (following the current naming conventions in the source code) and for now I edited manually the makefiles to get it building but that's just a quick-dirty-fix and we have to put the right things in the right place for autoconf and libtool to recognize everything. Same for the -lcryptopp option. I need to know how to add this new dependancy.

• Light help on handling password fields. For now I use text fields and this not very pretty :)

• Information about possible edge cases that come as a consequence of the changes I made (in terms of dealing with password in filezilla, I'd need to know if there are some tricky part of filezilla dealing with passwords that I should have a look at, to make sure the patch is compatible)

What still needs to be developped:

• Converting the password when changing the master password (decrypting them with the former one and encrypting them again with the new one).
• Decrypting the passwords when the user turns off the encryption

For now these two cases obviously end up with encrypted passwords that are not decryptable (because no master password or master password has changed).

What could be improved : Randomly generating a salt / iv (instead of hardcoded ones) when turning on encryption and then storing them in the settings file.

I am using AES by the way.

This patch is not intended to provide military security. It is intended to provide standard security that should be implemeted in every software storing password (like Firefox, Thunderbird, Opera... and even WinSCP (that has a CRAP UI but master password feature !!!).

I do not provide a patch file for now but you can see the changes I made by searching for the string "@td". That's a tag that I put where I make changes.

BTW I do not know if I can branch the SVN repo instead of holding the stuff on Github...? I think I need additional rights for that.

When I test to connect to the server it writes : Host does not exist AND Can not connect to server

But why ? is it a bug ?

Currently the FileZilla client does not trust any certifcate presented by the server even if it is signed by a Root CA.

FileZilla client should use the local certificate store (on Windows, Mac and Linux) to decide if a Root CA can be trusted and thus if the server's certificate can be trusted.

The user should not have to be bugged in the case a trust chain is already established.

This is espacially annoying when the server's certificate is renewed. Suddenly FileZilla client tells the user that the certificate is untrusted. In the end the user is confused resulting in support calls and frustration.

Currently, if you specify multiple "--site" command line parameters, FileZilla opens only the last one.

It would be great if FileZilla could support multiple "--site", opening a new tab for each one.

I would like to have this feature add to the application. The feature required is to allow us to stop processing the queue once the current upload/download finish.

Enter my host name, user name and password, but won't connect. I recently had to buy a new PC as my other one crshed. It's been a few months since I've tried to use it. I intended to login and then download my wordpress files to my new PC. Can't seem to connect. Im a newbie so please let me know what is needed in very layman's terms. It would be helpful to have a file transfer button between the local and server windows - at least as an option. Drag and Drop and double-clicking is more prone to mistakes, and here an option to switch off this feature could also be implemented

Generally happy with FZ (3.5.3) but I get random corruptions on upload of PHP files to server - and then even if I delete the server file and re-upload it is still corrupt. Using another technique - eg uploading via the server's cPanel File Manager - and it works OK

Add the ability to automatically launch the latest jobs in the queue when the application starts, or even better so that when connected to a specific server, will run the job associated with it.

Add the ability to save and restore opened tabs, and possibly modify command line argument "--site" so that it was possible to connect to multiple servers in a separate tabs.

After no problems for years using FZ daily, over the past 2 weeks I've had consistent problems downloading files using SFTP/SSH from my shared hostgator server. During batch downloading, it always downloads a few files, then posts the "software causing abort" (or words to that effect) during about the 4th file.

Happens every time now over past 2 weeks. Never happened in the past.

Filezilla lags really hard if operations with a lot of files are executed(like upload 100K files with skipping existing files). This happens because wxWidgets event queue gets jammed and everything gets stuck in processing pending events.

This can be fixed by supporting wxWidgets 2.9 and using QueueEvent instead of PostEvent or with fix I attached(it makes sure that only some events are processed from pending event queue in one iteration).

The commands I need most often are "delete all files in the queue" and "new folder". I have discovered that by right-clicking I can get both of these options, but as you undoubtedly know from the many help requests, beginning users do not know about the right-clicking. Please add these two important items to your toolbar. They are more commonly needed than any of the other toolbar items.

If the setting for Connection/Generic Proxy/Proxy Host has a trailing space, FileZilla does not connect. Similar to #1054.

Of course there may be other parameters as well that don't strip trailing spaces. It's a minor issue, but took quite a while to diagnose.

Filezilla gets unhandled exception errors on occasion. I have added a program to the service to restart the service on failure, but it does not execute because of the two popup boxes that appear. Is there a way to suppress these boxes? When I hit OK on the two boxes, my program runs and restarts successfully.

I donwloaded FileZilla Server 0.9.41 and tried it on two different Windows machines (Windows 7 and 2008 R2). Connecting to the server did not work, neither with Microsoft Windows ftp client nor with FileZilla Windows client. When a connection attempt is made, server sends back to the client some binary garbage starting with characters FSZ (or may be FZS) and then non-ASCII.

I often would like to be able to plan transfers for a defined time.

It should be able to be defined for every file transferred and should propose to define a date based on the PC's date which is when the file will be downloaded/uploaded.

Optionally, it could be proposed to define the date as a countdown (like "the file will be transferred in : .. [seconds/minutes/hours/days]"). It could also define an OS scheduled job.

the Debian pakage from Filezilla 3.5.3 and the version from the filezilla website does have this bug. Im not sure but its possible that it had somesthing to do with TLS Negotation (or Renegotation).

Version 3.2.7 works fine, with the same settings.

FTP Server is ProFTPd with various different TLS settings ( I tried everything... )

In windows 8 RTM, if filezilla server is installed to "manually" start the server service, the "start filezille service" shortcut created by the installer does not work.

However, one can go to control panel -> services and start it there, and it filezilla server will work without issue.

The problem is that the download speeds are random and usually not max.

Here's an example of what I mean: I download a file using filezilla, I notice slow speeds (200KB/s), so I cancel the download. Then I resume and I randomly get normal speeds (4MB/s).

Why are speeds random and how do I get max download speeds all the time?

The file is not locked and it is displayed in the GUI of the server as well as in other file explorer when the memory is moved from the server to a computer. With FileZilla the folder that contents the not shown file can not be deleted but the folder can be moved including the invisible file. After moving the folder the file is still invisible in FileZilla.

If more than one tabs of fileZilla are opened and changes are made in the Host name, Username or Password field in any tab, it is reflected in every tabs. The latest entered values are shown in every tabs.

Open two tabs (at least) with the local directory listing of the same folder.

Delete a file from that local directory from one of the tabs. It doesn't reflect in the other tab until we Refresh the directory.
