Currently with the IP filter there is no way to tell what IP is for what purpose/person, it is just a big ugly list. This makes it near impossible to manage unless you maintain a separate list of the IP's and who they belong to. So giving an IP temp access or trying to remove access later is a royal PITA.

It would be more useful if each IP could have a label with it to identify what it is for. So have it in a MULTIPLE SELECT list rather than a text area so IP's can easily be selected and removed e.g. 1.2.3.4 - ACME.com temp access for support 2.3.4.5 - Head office 3.4.5.6 - Dave - Contractor

It would also be very handy if IP filters could have rules.

e.g. Allow Indefinitely Allow for x days then disable Allow for x days then remove

I am connecting FileZilla 3.7.3 from Windows 7 Ultimate to a Windows 2008 server running freeFTPd. Everything functions as expected, but the dates displayed in the LAST MODIFIED column are incorrect in specific instances. IF the first item in the "ls" of the default folder/dir is a FILE the dates are all fine for the whole session. IF the first item in the "ls" list of the default folder is a FOLDER the date modified column shows ALL dates in the range of 12/31/1969 to late 1970. The dates remain incorrect for the complete session. I have tried other SFTP clients and they are fine even with the first item as a folder. This is a FileZilla problem.

We have tried to send files several times and the client crashes after reporing an issue. When we check for updates we are told we have the most current.

Since I upgraded to FileZilla 3.7.3, all files uploaded to the server AND those created on the server outside of FileZilla are displaying with an incorrect (future) date.

A file created locally and uploaded to the server today (09/06/2013 @ 14:33:59) using FileZilla is showing a last mod date of 04/30/2014 16:59:23.

I can verify the actual server attributes on the file as today:

The new windows update (security fixes only) on 9/10/13 "broke" my filezilla. When I right click a file to view or do anything with, it produces an error. Did a system restore before update and Filezilla works again just fine. Sorry that I didn't write down the error message before system restore :( but I know the update messed up 3.7.3 that I use.

When I attempt to download the FileZilla client version it keeps telling me, "You must be connected to the internet to complete your installation."

I obviously am connected to the internet so I'm not sure why this keeps coming up.

I tried installing version 3.7.3 of Filezilla on my MacBook Pro (w/ OS X 10.9 installed) and got this message:

"Filezilla cannot be installed because it from an unidentified developer."

I downloaded the file from download.cnet.com.

Is this something that can be easily fixed? I use Filezilla all the time and it would be a shame to not be able to use it on my new machine for this reason.

We are looking for the ability to save a file's original created date/time during uploads. Our FTP server supports this ability, but FileZilla does not send the MFCT command during uploads, just the modified date/time. It would be great to see this ability added to the client so that the tool can continue to be the most relevant and recommended FTP client available. Thanks for the consideration.

Hello, I very strong request following future: when moving a file or a directory in the server side window, there should a warning dialog; i.e. like: "Want you really move xxx to the destination yyy" [YES] [CANCEL]

Why is this important? Because there can be a lot of trouble when you using FTP on a virtual server as root (where you can not connect other to do admin transfers) and unintended move i.e. some library directory. Just some mouse wipe, and ups, later on you searching what has happened an get a lot of trouble. With a warning you would get in attention what happened and you can stop the move with CANCEL before it has started. I look for this future in FileZilla since years ago. My old FTP-Client WS_FTP form 2001 had implemented this behavior. I could bye a new WS_FTP version but I would more like to use FilleZilla. But without any warning it is to dangerous for me to use FileZilla. I think it is not very complicated to realize this. In addition there could a option in the properties dialog to activate and deactivate this Move-Warning-Dialog; because some do not like it.

There is currently no way to filter IN items passing the specified test. For example, right now I need to see only file names that (1) contain ".dsc" and (2) end in ".jpg". There is no way to do this.

A quick and dirty enhancement would be to add a checkbox that, when checked, causes the filter to INclude rather than EXclude.

I've marked this "high" priority on the presumption that this would be easy to do and would significantly improve the usefulness of filtering by making all boolean operations possible. From a boolean algebra point of view, the current filtering options are logically incomplete.

I noticed that there were already several tickets opened with respect to symbolic links, and many of these have been closed, or dismissed but I am having an issue accessing 'symbolic links' within FileZila, specifically I cannot change to the symbolic directory.

The remote server is linux, and in my setup I have created several links to other directories. For example: public_html/bla/bla/bla/images -> /public_html/images. The problem is, if I click on public_html/bla/bla/bla/images it gives me directory error. However, I can access public_html/images with out an issue and via an SSH I can use the CD command to access public_html/bla/bla/bla/images also without an issue.

Now, not every symbolic link is giving me an issue. If the symbolic link, points to another path within the same directory such as, (public_html/logfiles -> public_html/logs/system) filezilla has no problem. However if the symbolic link points to a different path, it generates an error. I have tried this on two different sites I have with the same results.

Here is the (sterilized) output from filezilla:

The directory download is a symbolic link to public_html\pubdownloads.

This seems to be a new problem. I don't recall this issue with an older version of FileZilla.

Every Time I try to connect - it says that is connecting to the server. Then it times out. And as I understand as soon as the connection is made - the right side locates the remote site - so I could upload & transfers file. Is that true? Can anyone help with this issue?

Trying to upload to my website and putting 21 in as port number, I get the message: "Could not parse server address:

Invalid port given. The port has to be a value from 1 to 65535"

This same message occurs regardless of what port number is used.

I note that there was a ticket about this some six years ago but I could not see an answer.

We would like to use FTPS to protect the login step only. We understand this only provides limited security but it does prevent the login and password from being stolen so it is better than plain unencrypted FTP.

Using CCC over full encryption also improves reliability when dealing with client side and server side routers / firewalls since the rest of the FTP communication can be followed / understood by them. This is extremely useful when you have no control over what hardware / software sits in-between the client and server.

I have been using Filezilla for over 4 years now, it recently stopped working and started giving me a 530 error. I know all my credentials are correct because I never changed them. I recently purchased new web hosting for another business that I have and same error. Here are the credentials I have tried:

Host - mydomain.com, ftp.mydomain.com, ​ftp://mydomain.com Port - 21 Protocol - FTP Encryption - Plain FTP Logon Type - Normal User - atrivisano, atrivisano@… Password - correct password

I tried to login to my FTP server via google chrome with this:

and it worked. Also, I tried coreFTP and it said I could not log in. I have tried setting to Active Mode and I have allowed Filezilla through my windows 8 firewall. My point of access for the internet has always been my iPhone Hotspot and has not changed.

My question is: How do I fix this because the File Manager on web hosts SUCKS...

When backing up my websites (Joomla), I notice that I have a lot more speed available to download but it takes the content of directories to slowly. Meaning if you have many directories with only 2 to 3 files but have 7 simulta. transfers going way to long to create the Queue for files to download. I am using V3.8 on Godaddy hosting. The queue is most of the time empty. It should fill the queue for downloading much faster.

A ticket from 2 months ago reads fixed. I have yet to see the fix in the latest version. Every time I switch to the FileZilla window, I automatically have to select "No" every time. Dialog box reads: "A file previously opened has been changed." Then the option, "Upload this file to the server?". It is quite frustrating and sends files all over my directories if I select the default "Yes".

If there is lag when doing an file upload and file erasing, two popups will appear. The delete confirmation and the overwrite 'target already exists', and both will be unresponsive.

I cannot click in any button of delete popup neither overwrite one.

I just tried a little bit with Hydra to brute force my logins. With IPv4, the autoban feature works: After 10 login attempts the IPv4 address is blocked. However, with IPv6, this feature does NOT work. FileZilla Server says the following in its logs: "421 Temporarily banned for too many failed login attempts" But it still processes new incoming connections!

As EMET is used in enterprise environments where it cannot be disabled by users, this issue prevents FileZilla from functioning. Downgrading to 3.8.0 fixes the issue.

With homes on DFS and %AppData% redirected to homes (roaming profiles) following paths d/dfs/.../.../%username%/%AppData% gets interpreted as d:/dfs/.../.../%username%/%%AppData% . So d/ is rewritten as the drive d:/ , this means settings in %AppData%/Filezilla/ are not written and you get a whole bunch of Error Messages "cannot write xml files".

When launching Filezilla (versions 3.7x and later) the position of the window is fixed. I cannot drag the window or resize it.

Workaround: I have to click out of the window and back in multiple times before I am allowed to reposition the window on the screen.

This started around six months ago and it hasn't been fixed as of the latest version (3.8.1).

Cannot install Filezilla Server 0.9.45 because Avira gives the folowing error:

Tried just the new beta 2, and it does not show anything in the remote window at all, empty windows (display). Local window section is normal working, only whatever folder or file I use is not shown in the remote window section... A bit strange.

We have restricted the user to their home directory in ftpaccess.ctl. User is able to list the files when using FTP in Command Prompt whereas the same is not working while connecting using Filezilla 3.7.4.1.

Please advice on the changes to be made in Filezilla Client.

In CuteFTP there are up buttons for both the client and the server panels. The other button is a bookmarks button which is CuteFTP's version of synchronized browsing.

Adding an up button just to the right of the drop-down menus for both the client and the server would eliminate the need for an unnecessary extra click and really make navigation slick because of synchronized browsing. Putting the up button on top of the grey background like the labels with the drop-down menu in between would probably be the best way to achieve visual consistency. Additionally since it seems customization is important the ability to remove the button via the 'View' menu would be great for those who want to remove the button.

I upgraded from FileZilla 3.7.3 to 3.8.0. Upon startup, I receive the message that FileZilla is unable to find its resources, suggesting that this can be overcome by setting the FZ_DATADIR environment variable (presumably to point at \Program Files (x86)\Filezilla\resources) or by providing the --datadir command-line option. Neither of these help. Indeed, using the --datadir command-line option posts an error message "Unknown long option 'datadir'".

Downgrading to 3.7.3 provides a workaround.

By using the contron panel (CPANEL) I get to access my host/server and so on with the password I have created by using characters such as @. (at, period) and they are repeated in the password, but it seems that FileZilla doesn't get to connect with the server with a password like that, I got the error connection exceeded the time limit, it wasn't possible to connect to the server. But If I use the browser to access my control pannel I get to access with the same password. So, it is working ok on the server.

I configured FileZilla to Russian language(my system lang) and when "Already connected" popup shows - it's not localized to Russian, but in previous releases it was working fine with Russian language.

FileZilla is overriding system preferences (Win 8.1 Pr 64)and using month/day/year rather than day/month/year. Started in 3.9.0 and is in current build 3.9.0.1

There should be a delete all button. The shortcut "D" for "delete" doesn't work.

When I import filezilla.xml....it just adds more domains instead of updating the new domain list. So I end up with multiple domains listed and old logins for them.

When I press the sourceforge button - - Eset Nod 32 gives me this warning.

I recently upgraded to FileZilla 3.9.0.2. Every time I start it up and use the Site Manager to connect, I get 1 and sometimes 2 copies of a popup window with the following error: File 'C:\Users\Karen\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla\filezilla.xml~' couldn't be removed (error 0: the operation completed successfully.) Each popup window is accompanied by a loud warning sound; each has to be cleared separately before I can do anything else. They also sometimes pop up when I merely open Site Manager. I also sometimes see the popup when I close the client. I attach a screen shot of the error popup. Other than this, FileZilla client seems to operate normally. I started a connection (during which I got 2 popups) and copied the message log: Status: Connecting to 50.63.140.27... i installed FileZilla Client is 3.9.0.2 from the filezilla screen which said new version available.

After installing and while uploading files on domain through ftp, i encountered error. Every time i uploaded batch of files, after few file uploads files in queue dose not uploads and displays time out.

Then i uninstalled that version and switched back to earlier one which i have 3.8.1 and tried uploading with it and it worked.

the new version has some issue. so please check it out.

FileZilla Client 3.9.0.2 not expanding/browsing DFS shared drives, 3.9.0.1 displays them fine, update 3.9.0.2 does not. Instead, one will see the shared drive and the root DFS namespace links but cannot browse further down then the root name spaces.

As in, the shared drive will display only 1 level down, still within DFS links, not even to the next level of DFS links, and not any further, thereby rendering them non-useable.

I've tried this on XP, Win 7, and Win 8.1. Downgrading to 3.9.0.1 resolved this issue.

I did not take a screenshot before downgrading, all you would see is that the folders have no + (PLUS symbol) next to them in the local site view, and that you can not click any further in the pane below. Right clicking and hitting "open" says "no program associated".

Same issue on multiple users machines.

Also, un-related, but SourceForge has been serving virsues up on the auto-download links and has infected machines here, I still see it offering 724K instead of the 5+MB installer for FileZilla, you may want to look into this as people are trying to download your client and ending up with malware and viruses.

Hi, i installed FileZilla Client 3.9.0.2 from the filezilla Screen today After Installation all of my Uploads failed with error message after reaching 100%. Filezilla shows an smaller target file size, perhaps 4096 but 1.566.348

Then i used another pc with an older Version of filezilla. After Connection I found the uploaded file with the full size on the target device. The file was OK.

the majority of the time right clicks are being registered as double clicks which causes file downloads in the wrong place and potential overwrites, severely messing with work flow... issue does not exist on FileZilla_3.8.1_macosx-x86.app.tar only on 3.9.02 . i am running OS X maverick

I am trying to upload a htpasswd file to my wordpress site using FileZilla. It is continually unsuccessful. I have read many posts in the help section and also other info from Google to try and resolve this. i am not a massive tech person but can certainly get my way around these types of things. When opening a second connection in a new tab the user interface is scrambled , making impossible to switch connections from tabs.

Beginning with version 3.9.0.1 - and having changed NONE of my webmaster permissions - I have been experiencing an increasing number of errors when attempting to view or download log files on my website. Whether I right click view/edit, double-click to download, or attempt to drag and drop a log file from the webhost server to my local drive, I get this message:

I marked this ticket "high" because there error has now become persistent. I am unable to download/view ANY log files.

There is no problem uploading files (drag and drop), renaming files on the host server, or moving files between folders on the host.

I want to point out that I've looked in other posts, and I did all the things recommended by so many problem solvers....

And here are the facts:

1. It was working fine until a couple of days ago. Nothing changed.
2. I tried changing passwords.
3. I've added a new user in my hosting FTP User Management.
4. I tried adding the domain name after the user name with @ in between them. I also tried without.
5. I tried the domain name as hostname, and also the IP Address.
6. I CAN connect with WS_FTP Client to my hosting.

For the last couple of versions I'm getting the message "filezilla.xml~ couldn't be removed (error: 0 the operation completed successfully).

I have been unable to connect to my Yahoo server for the last 3 or 4 days. I have checked my password, and it is correct. I installed the latest version of Filezilla today and I ma still getting the same error. I click on a local file and then rightclick and 'rename'. Then I click into the filename and type a change. When I hit enter, filezilla does not do anything anymore. I can wait or force closing it.

When I restart it, the file is renamed.

I currently use 3.8.0 and have to tried upgrading with every new version but always get the following error,so have to revert back.

If I go into a directory locally first the remote directory once double click will not process through require me to re-login to be able to open that specific directory. It shows the command: Command: CDUP Command: CWD Then sits there.

A client of mine loaded Filezilla - most recent version on his new computer. His IT guy discovered it had a lot of malware attached. It was downloaded from Filezilla webpage (not a third party) and "client" was chosen. All my staff and a good portion of my clients use Filezilla to access my FTP site - this could be potentially very harmful for me.

Can you add the button on top panel that hides pc local drives? I know you already have one button, but it hides only one panel and the other one stays on place.

Hello, I am having consistent issues which I can replicate time after time.

I am using FTP with Require Explicit FTP over TLS to connect to my FTP servers.

I have enabled "Send FTP Keep alive commands" and connect succesfully and start the transfer.

after 60 minutes the log will consistently do the following

The keep alives will stop and the error below is listed. Error: Connection closed by server

Then exactly 60 minutes in to the transfer the following are logged

Error: GnuTLS error -53: Error in the push function. Error: Connection closed by server Error: File transfer failed after transferring 333,856,752 bytes in 3600 seconds

I cannot find any specifics on the GnuTLS error -53: Error in the push function on the web so was wondering if you can shed any light?

I'm using FileZilla and it has worked without problems for a long time. When I recently did an update I start to get problems with directory listings. I have now problems of logging into the FTP server. Then it comes to fetching directory listing it fails, the sequence is like this:

I've tried several times to transfer several large VMDK (VMware Disk) files via SFTP and noted that server hung several minutes into the transfer. I had walked away and could not determine why.

I started another transfer and watched the available RAM be reduced to 10% before I stopped Filezilla's transfer and closed the program. Upon closing the program, the RAM was not released. In fact, Process Viewer did not show the utilized RAM as associated with any program.

Confused further, I found a forum suggesting I run RAMMAN from Systernals to determine what was using all that memory. I found the VMDK file Filezilla was downloading was being transferred directly into RAM and the changes were not committing to disk as the download progressed. Smaller files (1-2MB, etc.) were committing to disk after the download was complete. The VMDK file I was downloading is ~56GB which is why the system's memory filled up and hung. There is not enough RAM to hold the entire VMDK.

I've had to turn to WinSCP to do my transfers which is 50% slower than Filezilla. Please let me know if there is any other info you require.

It would be helpful if there was a way to export failed transfers to a csv file.

Then at a future time those files could be resent. Either via filezilla or by another method, such as cpanel's file upload system.

This is because for various reasons permissions can be denied, and it would be useful to have a list of files which must be uploaded via another method.

Steps to reproduce:

• User A logs into an online server (test.com)
• User B logs into an online server (test.com)
• On the Server there's a folder "test"
• User A and User B see this folder on root level
• User A and User B step into the "test" folder
• User B leaves the "test" folder back to root
• User A creates a subfolder "test/newFolder"
• User B downloads the "test" folder

Expected result:

• User B gets the "test" folder and its subfolder "newFolder"

Real result (falsy behavior)

• User B only gets the "test" folder without its subfolder "newFolder"

Additionally:

• If the "test" folder is downloaded once and afterwards deleted from the local drive and downloaded again, the "test" folder doesn't show up automatically. Only after reloading.

Instead it feels like Filezilla is placing (not downloading) a "cached" version of the "test" folder. This could explain why everything is messed up: A cache!

There are no images or files showing up in either the local or remote host. This happened after updating to the latest version of 3.9.0.5

When I click on the right side of the windows(Remote Website),if the folder name is chinese,then there will be another folder with messy code name,and the origional folder is still be shown in the list.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Click right on a file (of your local filesystem)
2. Select "Rename"
3. Change the name of the file
4. Apply your change by pressing [Enter].
5. => FileZilla crashes

Since the major update on FileZilla version 3.9.0 the performance became very poor and the GUI very unresponsive during file transfers. I found a similar ticket here in #9667.

I tested this doing a FTP file transfer (10 simultaneous transfers) of 4403 files in 337 subdirectories with a total size of 42,3 MB with the following results: FileZilla 3.9.0.6: Took about 8 minutes to do the transfer and the GUI was very unresponsive during the transfer.

FileZilla 3.8.1: Took lees than 2 minutes and the GUI was totally responsive during the whole transfer.

I currently decided to roll back to version 3.8.1 until this is fixed.

When installed the following error appears: Unsupported operating system

WTF! I am only running the automatic autoupdater within the application already running in my system! and running the proposed package!

Your automatic updater does not work and does not verify in which system FileZilla client is running before proposing the package to run for the update.

When I drag a file from local site to the remote site it prompts me for action. I select overwrite like I always have. Filezilla shows the upload progression and status. It gets to 100% and the actions window pops up again. If you select overwrite, the whole process starts again. If you hit cancel, it does cancel, but the file is always incomplete and not upload fully.

If on the actions screen I choose "always do this" in addition to the overwrite. Filezilla will just keep going through the process over and over automatically. It will keep doing it with no end.

I have successfully used Filezilla in the past with all the same settings. Since the last update I have not been able to retrieve the directory listings. I can access the FTP site via Windows Explorer and via browser with no issues. Tried Cute FTP which also worked well Below is the debug report from logging in. I am using an HP8560 FileZilla Client

i am using filezilla with porxy address of bsnl network.it deleting the part of file uploding.

In Ubuntu 14.10 if i connect to an ftp server and start renaming the files suddenly filezilla wont allow me to type anything. This bug dosent exist in Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit.

i use F2 to rename files and this is still possible to use. Also i can click in the name of a file and move the marker and mark text with the mouse, but i cant erase the names or type new text in the names. This happend very shortly after. If i connect to the ftp find a file and mark it for editing/renaming and go over in a browser or folder on my machine suddenly when i come back filezilla kinda freezes.. only thing to do is close filezilla and start it again and this happens everytime.. i cant even have filezilla open for 5 minutes and conencted..

Im running Ubuntu 64 bit and my local network is stable (Using lan cables and have transfer speeds on 100 MB/s (1000 Mbit)

I tried to debug filezilla, but the debug dosent catch anything related to what im doing.. (i will try to get some debug/logging that could be useful, but maby you just need to run Ubuntu 14.10 64 bit and rename files on your ftp.. when i enabled debug/logging it took longer time before it did freeze.

When moving a file up a level by drag and dropping it over the '...' (at the top of the folder) the file will be copied to the parent folder. If a file already exists then it will be overwritten without confirmation. This has made me loose progress on my index.php accidentally several times and I know it will happen again. It is easy to accidentally drag and drop a file (you will be surprised!) so it should ask 'file xyz already exists, would you like to overwrite?' This is critical because this behavior should NOT happen and WILL cause others hours of (re-)work like it did for me.

i just updated Filezilla 3.10.0 and now none of my 20 or so website will download any files, it keeps timing out.

I'f there is no quick fix can i some how roll back to the last version?

It won't be anything my end ass my websites are with many different servers and i am a long term user of Filezilla

FileZilla 3.10.0 release build fails on FreeBSD due to missing errno.h include in engine/file.cpp and engine/process.cpp. Patch to correct is attached. Patch follows the pattern that errno.h is included into .cpp files which require it.

yesterday I got the update 3.10.0-rc1, and every time I try to upload a file the program start the uploading, then finish the uploading, then start the uploading again, the file never appear in the screen.
