#9646 closed Bug report (worksforme)

Password characteres doens't accept certain characters for connection.

Reported by: lucato Owned by:
Priority: high Component: FileZilla Client
Keywords: password, access, time limit, connection Cc:
Component version: Operating system type: Windows
Operating system version: W7

Description

By using the contron panel (CPANEL) I get to access my host/server and so on with the password I have created by using characters such as @. (at, period) and they are repeated in the password, but it seems that FileZilla doesn't get to connect with the server with a password like that, I got the error connection exceeded the time limit, it wasn't possible to connect to the server. But If I use the browser to access my control pannel I get to access with the same password. So, it is working ok on the server.

FileZilla fully supports at signs and periods in usernames and passwords.

Common causes for login problems:

  • Leading/trailing whitespace
  • Character case
  • FTP servers or FTP proxies that interpret at signs to redirect to a different host

Note that your control panel is being hosted by a different server daemon than FTP. Does your control panel set the password correctly in the way as used by the FTP daemon?
