Hello, when I connect to my server and send a lot of files like 5000 or more then about 3/4 of the Q I get the following errors and it will not process any more files.

So in the File->Site Manager->Transfer Settings Tab I edit "Limit Number of Connections" I set to 6 connections max. Yet when I connect to my server to upload a bunch of files again I get the same exact error with too many connections (8).

This has been a very annoying bug for a long time, which I should have reported earlier but I kind of thought that someone would have run across this by now but I guess not.

When using SFTP and RADIUS/Securid authentication users are able to log in successfully. However, upon upload or download of files you are then prompted again to enter your next PASSCODE. Users should not be prompted fopr next passcode after successfully logging in to transfer files.

Occasionally when transferring files, FileZilla client uses 100% of the physical memory available (I have 8GiB in the machine, and FileZilla goes up to approx. 92% of that) and the disk starts to thrash, significantly degrading performance.

Nothing is logged during this.

Once the file in the queue finishes, the memory is all released correctly and the operating system eventually recovers.

FileZilla Client version 3.3.2.1, built 2010-03-21 but this problem has been happening for at least the last 6 months in various versions, if not longer.

Seems to be more apparent on larger files (several gigabytes) but this could just be because they take longer to transfer, so the chance of it happening increases. It generally happens suddenly in the middle of an existing transfer.

Unfortunately because it is so sporadic, it is hard to replicate.

Steps to reproduce 1) Start Filezilla Client 2) Navigate to a local folder having multiple files available 3) Select one file 4) Hold CTRL+SHIFT 5) Select the next file in the folder 6) Repeat steps 3-4 for a few times

Error File counter is counting already selected files again

Expected behavior File count should reflect the amount of files actually selected

My filezilla client keeps freezing up when moving files over. What can I do to fix this?

While trying to resume, I get the following error:

When you uninstall file zilla server and get rid of all settings (haven't tested with keeping settings) it doesn't prompt for a new password when you reinstall but it lets you login to server admin console with any or no password at all

Filezilla 3.3.3-rc1 crashes on Windows 7 x86 when scrolling through an active queue (the scroll bar on bottom right) with concurrent transfers set to eight, though the crash doesn't seem to only happen with 8 concurrent transfers. I've reproduced this several times.

I've seen this happen with several different files and queues. Including resuming them and with a fresh one.

When going to certain sites (using SFTP), it gets there, BUT when I try to "Drill Down" into the site, it immediately crashes. This only occurs on a couple of the sites on my web server. It did not occur until I upgraded from Fedora 12 -> 13. I initially used the Fedora install of filezilla, and since the crash was occurring, uninstalled it and downloaded/compiled the most recent version from your site. Still happening. Weird thing is, I have WindowsXP installed on this machine in VirtualBox and filezilla works fine there.

I'm testing a PROftp server (externally hosted, on the Internet) to debug something. To help, I've also set one up internally on my LAN, and wanted to use Filezilla as the client. I'm testing on the LAN server first so I understand the ports in use etc.

However, Filezilla doesn't switch to PASV on the second time I connect to the server.

I define the server, and make sure that under Transfer Settings, its set to Passive.

I then login (log 1). you can see Filezilla correctly sent PASV. All looks good I then disconnect, and re-login again (log 2) by clicking on the drop-down toolbar. You can see from the log that the client doesn't switch to PASV.

The only way I've been able to re-connect in passive, is to close Filezilla and restart it.

I use FileZilla client 3.3.3.

I connect to a server, then use View/Edit to browse a server file, then close my editor. (I am using UltraEdit-32.)

If I then quit FileZilla, I get this message:

Some files are being edited, or need to be uploaded. If you close FileZilla, your changes will be lost.

In many distribution there are some file with a size at 0 (typically some index.html). With filezilla this files are not created on the destination directory and appear on the failed list. We then have to recreate manualy each of them...

Thanks to handle the creation of these file on the destination directory.

The Site Manager doesn't allow Alt-Tab when in Field "Server Type". You usually don't want to have to move your right hand to the mouse when you fill in the necessary fields when you enter a new site. I consider this being a bug since you have no way to solve this with just alt-tab on the keyboard.

retrieving previous logs on admin interface startup is what i miss, specially when managing server from different computer than server (which is typical - server is on separate computer). in addition there should be option for retrieving number of lines from logs or number of days (maybe with possibility to choose the range of days), and possibility to search text inside log (displayed or the whole saved)

after downloading a file using filezilla (the file was 10gb)and checking the md5sum of the file, the md5sum of the resultant file differed from the md5sum of the original file. whats more the file differed at byte 2147483648, the point the filesize would overflow a signed 32 bit integer. i have re-downloaded the orignal file using ssh on linux (opposed to how it was originally downloaded using filezilla on 32 bit windows server 2003) and the md5sum matches, i transfered it to the windows machine using samba and the md5sum STILL matches, which takes windows out of the equation as the source of the corruption. also being that it occurred AT 2147483648, corruption from download seems unlikely.

I downloaded a remote folder with a trailing space in it´s name via context-menu. Downloading was fine, but I wasn´t able to delete that folder with Windows Explorer ("Datei kann nicht gelöscht werden: Die Quelldatei oder vom Quelldatenträger kann nicht gelesen werden.").

Deleting it is only possible by deleting the parent folder via command line with "rmdir /s test".

Sometimes if I click a folder, I get the message: "Error: Disconnected from server: ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing"

Yes, I know you're never gonna fix ECONNABORTED, but there are two problems here:

1. If I have directory sync on and click a local folder in the directory tree pane, that folder still appears selected but the folder isn't changed. This means I have to click somewhere else, then click back again to load the folder.
2. If I hit F5 then FileZilla reconnects perfectly fine, so this should just be done automatically.

I'm updating single files in a big web site with very deep paths.

Having set my local and remote directories to be in sync from start, I would appreciate the following feature: When I browse into the file structure in my local site, it would be very nice if the remote file structure "followed" my moves.

Some might like it, others not - so make the feature optional.

Prior to 3.3.3, right-clicking on a local file used to open that file for editing with the Custom Editor I had specified in "Edit > Settings > File editing > Default editor".

This functionality only returned after I selected "Edit > Settings > File editing > Always use default editor"

Excuse me for my english. I realize a tpdump capture to describe my problem with FileZilla Client 3.3.3 When i realise a upload, passive mode and keep alive option, of a large file, the transfert broken all 5 minutes. I found that it's my firewall who send me a RST packet. After analyze tcpdum capture between client and server, i see 2 connexions data and one connexion that not use "keep alive" command and my firewall with default timeout (5mn) on all session broken this session. I add a files:

• tcpdump file (client.cap) realize on client
• filezilla.log: log of FileZilla Client
• analyze.log: my analyze of tcpdump capture "client.cap"

Action: I have 2 tabs open to different areas of the same remote site, and the same local folder. I refresh the file listing

Expected behavior: The local listing refreshes in both tabs to reflect the current state

It would be helpful to be able to search all remote files modified in a specific date range to track recent changes or if your site has been FTP hacked and you know when.

The Remote File Search (F3) feature would therefore need to be expanded to include "Last Modified" date to first drop down where Filename, Filesize and Path are currently. As well the drop down next to that would need to specify two new options: "greater than" and "less than" and then the ability enter a date and time in maybe a masked field so that a full date and full time would need to be entered.

For example: Last Modified; Greater than; 08/07/2010 9:23:00 am Last Modified; Less than; 08/07/2010 9:45:00 am

This would be a very useful feature. You could search and download just the files that have been changed in a certain time period which would save a lot of time and bandwidth.

When uploading a large file that will take about 22 minutes at the speed of the connection, unless you continue to open directories on the server to which you are uploading, the system disconnects from that server.

If 2 dialog/pop-ups/confirmations come up right after another, for any reason, then filezilla will not allow me to click either of them to confirm or cancel either of them. nothing in the UI (on the regular windows or the confirmations) respond when you click them. it basically freezes filezilla... making it so i have to force quit and reopen filezilla again.

Please provide an option for monitoring and automatically uploading "remote" files edited locally without a prompt. Currently, the user must confirm each upload individually. We wouldn't be editing "remote" files if we didn't want them uploaded back!

When we select one file where its extension file is assigned with more than one editor at the "Filetype associations" settings, it would show up the "Open With..." and the name of the editors to chose from the list. Sometimes you want to edit the same file into different editors, so I can open a file in a editor that I get to compare files or in other editor to get to translate files and so on. An "Open With..." option is a must have in FZ. ;0)

Server is running 0.9.35 on Windows Server 2003 Web Edition (SP2)

When transferring a 1.8GB zip file from client to server the transfer failed. When I go back in to client and restart the upload, I am prompted that the file already exists, so I select resume.

I see "REST 1349595396" which is the correct size of the file already transferred on the the server, and this is followed by "500 Syntax error, command unrecognized."

When I check the logs on the server I see "RE*T 1349595396" followed by a "500 Syntax error, command unrecognized.". The S has been replaced by a *

Same behaviour was noticed on server 0.9.32 and is also present on 0.9.36

I'm using FileZilla client 3.3.3 and when I use the ampersand (&) symbol in a password for a site it is stored in the XML file as '&' not '&amp;'. If I manually change it from '&' to '&amp;' then FileZilla is ok until I update the site or close and reopen FileZilla. Updating the site affects 'sitemanager.xml' and closing affects 'filezilla.xml' (<LastServer><Pass> tag), thus 'filezilla.xml' cannot be read and the default settings are used.

I've attached screen shots of the errors generated for each of these files.

In FZ 3.3.3 (and former versions) the icons for "directory listing" and "directory comparing" are inverted.

When changing the language from the default (which is Finnish on my computer) to English and then selecting File --> Exit, FileZilla FTP Client (v3.3.3) crashes. The crash doesn't occur if I don't change the language.

The error message is "Unhandled exception at 0x00a19e29 in filezilla.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x002f004a."

First, excuse me for the bad language but I am french, and not really in the IT field. I currently use Filezilla Client 3.3.3. on a PC with windows XP. I never had such a problem since the error read in my ticket's subject. When opening FileZillaI got a window saying 'The Xml doc is not in the right setting : error reading attributes', so the previous favorite settings won't be set, you will run on the basic setting. I got this message whenever I run Filezilla and so must re-shape the windows and my previous read files every time. I tried to uninstall then re-install Filezilla but nothing changed. I checked the forum before posting and though I use both Avast as an Antivirus and ZoneAlarm as a firewall,none of them are blocking the programm to connect to whatever and whenever it wants to.

I believe something is wrong in the xml code. Can you help me fixing it? Regards.

When accessing a site with a certificate that is unknown, the site certificate dialog opens, but the "always trust" check box isn't sensitive (can't be checked). Clicking the "Ok" button allows site access for that instance, and the site can be re-accessed (new login) while FileZilla remains continuously active. When FileZilla is restarted, the certificate verification steps must be repeated for that site. Very aggravating for such a site that one visits often.

It may happen that the fs on the ftp server is different that on the client so on machine where you do not have ssh or any other type of access it is legitimate to create symbolic links that are broken on your local machine but will work fine on the remote site. Unfortunately filezilla follow the link, do some checks on the file that fails and abor the upload.

While caching remote directory content _may_ be something sane to do, when i double click on a remote file i expect to download the latest stuff available and not what is available from filezilla cache.

Please provide support for IBM i. The FTP server operates in two naming formats (NA 0 = Library file system, NA 1 = Directory (Unix) file system). If the FTP server default is set NA 0 then Filezilla does not connect because the FTP server does not understand the CD syntax.

In the NA 0 format you enter "CD libraryName" or "get libraryName\fileName.memberName".

In NA 1 mode you enter "CD \QSYS.LIB\libraryName.LIB" or "get \QSYS.LIB\libraryName.lib\fileName.file\memberName.mbr". Understandably most people set the server to NA 0 because nobody feels like doing all that typing in NA 1 mode.

The easy solution is to provide the Site Manager with an option to define commands to be issued immediately after logon and before FileZilla issues any commands. You can then configure the host entry with the following command(s) which will place the server in the correct mode:

site NA 1 bin cd \qsys.lib\mylib.lib

The attached patch cahanges two classes. The fix should only affect MS windows systems.

All the extentions added to the file type associations table should be lower case and then when a file is opened in the local list view the extention should also be treated as lower case.

1. In the Miscellaneous settings dialog the text 'Adjust these values if you get very slow transferrates' should read 'Adjust these values if you get very slow transfer rates'.

2. In the Miscellaneous settings dialog the text '.......buffer size carefully, too high.....' the text should read '.....buffer size carefully. Too high....' (The comma should be replaced with a full stop, then a new sentence started).

Trying to drag a file from the local folder to the remote server folder always fails in version 3.3.4-rc1 of FileZilla Client.

To reproduce:

1. UI is configured to Blackboard layout, not reversed.
2. Login to an FTP server.
3. Navigate to source folder and destination folder.
4. Click and drag a file from the local file pane to the remote file pane and drop.

What happens: Client attempts to transfer file and gets an error similar to the following: can't open file 'Q:\Folder\subfolderfile.php' (error 2: the system cannot find the file specified.)

The path reported in this error is not correct, the actual file is located at: 'Q:\Folder\subfolder\file.php' It appears this method of uploading has a bug where the last \ in the folder path is missing.

Work around: Selecting the file in the local pane and pressing Enter transfers the file correctly.

Unfortunately, the bug hasn't been fixed because you can easily reproduce this phenomenon by the following step:

1. Install the fresh filezilla server,create a user(assuming username is admin),set the speed limit to 2MB/s

2.Write a ftp client code to connect-login-download something from the server(follow the FTP RFCs)

3.After download complete, send 'QUIT' command to filezilla, and do *NOT* wait the server responses '226 Transfer OK' then close the socket, then reconnect the filezilla server again to download another file.(I know this step is not strictly follow the RFCs, but it's still a bug, right?)

In my test code, the CPU usage of filezilla goes up to 100% every 2 times.

"error 2 - the system can not find the file specified" I had no problem before I upgraded to 3.3.4-rc1 it will not upload any of my pics. I usualy use the quick connect and choose the "upload if source is newer" button

Just upgraded to 3.3.4-rc1, no problems with the upgrade. Then tried to transfer a couple of files by dragging and got error 2. However when I right-clicked and selected 'upload' - it worked fine. So it appears to be drag-n-drop related issue.

When uploading multiple files through the option (only upload if source is newer), we want to view a summary screen that compares the filesize of the uploaded files to the source files to ensure that no files that were uploaded became corrupt.

right now the only commands are kick or ban users. i'd like to see more commands to this menu.

for example: go to folder (for this file they dl or ul)

and other file commands: delete , rename, launch, etc

view log for this user (day, quota etc)

priority up/down for this user

sorting users by column in the lower part of the server (only seems to work for ID/account)

It would be MOST helpful to have the file transfer window at the bottom of the screen able to sort the columns; i.e., click on file size, it's sorted by size A-Z, click again, it's sorted Z-A. That way, I could prioritize the largest files as low, and keep the smallest as normal or high. It doesn't change the transfer time, but allows the small files to get done first.

After upgrading to 3.3.4, while trying to run program, proces filezilla.exe takes over 2 GB of RAM, and then już quits without showing any message or other window.

Repro Steps:

1. Open FZ and connect to a ftp server
2. Open one directory and create a folder with Chinese name, such as "格里"
3. Click the new added folder

WRT110 router - FileZilla Client, FTP upload problem

When I upload files via FTP and if the transfer of a file takes more then 3 minutes,

then my FTP programs doesn't jump to the next file to be uploaded when the previous one has just been finished.

The problem occurs only if I connect to the internet behind my wrt110 router.

I have tried FileZilla, FTPRush and FlashFXP FTP softwares to upload via FTP.

At FileZilla sending keep-alives doesn't help,

BUT FTP upload properly works at FlashFXP if I send noop during transfer:

Sending anti-idle keep alives also does not work at FlashFXP from behind wrt110 router.

If you can transfer small files without any issues,

but transfers of larger files end with a timeout,

a broken router and/or firewall exists

between the client and the server and is causing a problem.

As mentioned above,  

FTP uses two TCP connections:

a control connection to submit commands and receive replies,

and a data connection for actual file transfers.

It is the nature of FTP that during a transfer the control connection stays completely idle.


The TCP specifications do not set a limit on the amount of time a connection can stay idle.

Unless explicitly closed, a connection is assumed to remain alive indefinitely.

However, many routers and firewalls automatically close idle connections after a certain period of time.  

Worse, they often don't notify the user, but just silently drop the connection.

 

For FTP, this means that during a long transfer

the control connection can get dropped because it is detected as idle, but neither client nor server are notified.

So when all data has been transferred, the server assumes the control connection is alive

and it sends the transfer confirmation reply.

 

Likewise, the client thinks the control connection is alive and it waits for the reply from the server.

But since the control connection got dropped without notification,

the reply never arrives and eventually the connection will timeout.


In an attempt to solve this problem,

the TCP specifications include a way to send keep-alive packets on otherwise idle TCP connections,

to tell all involved parties that the connection is still alive and needed.

 

However, the TCP specifications also make it very clear that these keep-alive packets should not be sent more often than once every two hours. Therefore, with added tolerance for network latency, connections can stay idle for up to 2 hours and 4 minutes.

 

However, many routers and firewalls drop connections that have been idle for less than 2 hours and 4 minutes. This violates the TCP specifications (RFC 5382 makes this especially clear). In other words, all routers and firewalls that are dropping idle connections too early cannot be used for long FTP transfers. Unfortunately manufacturers of consumer-grade router and firewall vendors do not care about specifications ... all they care about is getting your money (and only deliver barely working lowest quality junk).

To solve this problem, you need to uninstall affected firewalls and replace faulty routers with better-quality ones.

Our office has just updated to the latest version of Filezilla. Every time you open this application now, the "Welcome to Filezilla" dialog pops up. We have all tried searching to see where this can be turned off but there does not appear to be a setting.

I have problem where we run a CAD program CATIA V4 on AIX Unix. We would like to use FileZilla to tranfer the some of these file when needed for PC CAM software, Windows 2003 R2 Servers.

The problem is CATIA use a Special Symbol Character in the Unix file name which in windows is ALT 0177 (plus,minus on top of each other).

When we try to tranfer these files using FileZilla we get error, "Error: Critical file transfer error"

These Symbol Charcter can be renamed to spaces in file names would be file or _.

sometimes filezilla client gets stuck into a mode where it refuses to:

• after changing the right side directory, update the right side
• click refresh button, refresh the right side

and I don't know if there is any particular sequence that starts this. so my best guess would be to say start looking for logic bugs.

I downloaded the newest version and this problem started. It prompted me to try the newest version. I have my website through 000webhost.

When uploading an html file, something is adding class to each img and setting it to a string of about 20 letters of gibberish. The result is that nothing appears on the webpage except for the link to their webhost.

It appears to be random as it is not the same when I check back later -- meaning, this class is set to something different each time I view the code on the same file. The last time I looked the inserted code looks like: class=" iqsnceuzmqugrweoheju" It is the same on the other newly loaded files -- meaning, they also have class=" iqsnceuzmqugrweoheju" in the same place. If I check back later, it will be a different string of letters, but it will be the same on each of the 4 new uploaded html files.

It has not affected previous files. I've used firebug to view the code on previous uploads, and they are fine. It only seems to affect files that I have uploaded in the last day or so.

I ran a comprehensive scan with Norton, and there are no problems on my computer. I have also reported this to the webhost.

I have .log files assigned to be opened with Notepad++, but the latest versions of FileZilla open all .log files in plain Notepad.

I am running windows 7 professional and it is worth noting that from what I can tell, this was introduced in the 3.3.4 series of releases. In FileZilla version 3.3.3 and earlier .log files opened as expected in Notepad++.

I have also tried to manually set the filetype association in FileZilla's settings. Also, I have .bat files set to be opened in Notepad++ (in FileZilla's settings) instead of run but in the 3.3.4 series it is run when I select to open it.

I tested remote file search on last version 3.3.4.1. I tried search "filename", "contains" and "20827" (searched string). It tried search, but it didnot search any files contains "20827" in filename.

Was working before, now cannot upload anything.

Add an option to move file/folder at remote site in ftp client

As we all know, FileZilla is more than simply an ftp client (or server), it is sometimes also used as common yardstick to see how the connection between the client and server is performing.

IOW, performance figures from FileZilla get used as data to help optimize the network/server.

Case 1) When I complained to my ISP that their line wasn't performing, they asked me to connect to their ftp servers (they specifically requested that I use FileZilla) and start simultaneously downloading 10 test files from their server.

Case 2) When I set up a server myself, I usually use FileZilla to see how it is performing, and compare FileZilla results with other transfer methods (SCP, Samba etc).

To help with these, it would be great if FileZilla could display aggregate speed (of all currently active transfers) on the status bar.

It would be even more great if there was a new tab (beside 'Queued Files', 'Failed Transfers', 'Successful Transfers') that showed a graph of speeds for individual transfers as well as aggregate.

When I log onto a remote site, highlight a Winzip file, right click and select View/Edit, I get the attached error messages.

It's something I've never had a problem with before so I double-checked by downgrading to version 3.3.3 and I can view a zip file without error.

I recently wondered that a file that should be around 1 GB was shown as "2 GB" in the FileZilla Client v3.3.4.1. After downloading from the Linux/Debian server, the file also had "2 GB" on the local disc - according to FileZilla Client. However the Windows Explorer is quite sure that it actually only has 1.02 GB.

If I change to more than 0 decimals in the settings, FileZilla shows a size of 1.03 GB. Therefore I guess FileZilla rounds up the filesize in a suboptimal way.

I was using filezilla to upload some images for my website's background. They are my desktop's wallpaper, and so I thought they would be perfect for my site as well. However, every time I upload any of my wallpaper images, they become corrupt on my server.

I have been able to upload countless other images and files with 0 problems. I cannot fathom what or how these images differ from any other images. I have changed the image type (.jpg to .png), I have tried resizing them to be smaller (from 1920x1080 to 1280x720 and 300x400), to no avail. I have also tried several of my wallpaper images and they all become corrupt on my server using filezilla. I know it is not my server because using my cpanel's upload tool, the images uploaded fine to the same place, with the same other details.

I will attach 2 of my images that corrupt every time I upload.

When opening .html files, my local computer uses Internet Explorer to view files. To edit files, I use TextPad.

The "Open with" feature request may take care of this.

I'm justan ignorant user who doesnt know waht a client or a server is. All I know is that I can use filezilla fine for lots of other machine but not for topcities. Ive asked you before but got no response. Do I need a degree in information technology just to report a bug? Is it really too hard for you to make filezilla work for topcities?

When I download pages from my server, when edited contain only garbled chinese characters, and none of the original content.

Found a bug in the newest FileZilla Version for Mac (I don't know if the bug also exists in the Windows version):

I have a lot of files on my server. Some start with a lowercase "c" and some with an uppercase "C". Now, the uppercase "C" is listed on top of all lowercase files. Maybe there should be an option, if the start-character style should be ignored.

This bug really sucks, but maybe it's a "feature". That wouldn't be good!

I have your software on my main desktop computer, I did not update it to your current version when requested to, and it still works and uploads to my website ... www.peacerecord.com. I updated the FileZilla version on my Laptop computer to the current version when it requested me to and now it cannot connect to my website for uploading. What must I do ... are some of the log in parameters changed in your new updated version of File Zilla?

I have installed the latest version of Filezilla Server (0.9.36) and Client(3.3.4.1) on a 1&1 Dynamic Cloud Server running Windows WebServer 2008 R2.

I am running the latest version of Filezilla Client and Server on my workstation, which is running Windows 7 Professional.

When I try to connect to my workstation from the Cloud server I can login, but get an error when the MLSD commad is issued. When I try using the Client from my workstation I get the same error in the same place.

The error message reads: "Failed to retrieve directory listing".

I am using FileZilla 3.3.4.1 together with FileZilla Server 0.9.36 beta. When I download a large file (1,7GB)from FileZilla server it runs >100% of filesize and I get a corrupt file. I do *not* use MS FTP Server (IIS).

Any setting or anything else I can do to get a proper download?

I would appreciate a feature to copy files and folders from one ftp to the others without caching them on the local computer. I use FileZilla on windows and backuping files to that kind of system really sucks because file and folder permission would be lost.

I have no problem with caching the files to my local drive but the permissions should be resetted on the new server.

With version 3.3.4.1, an upload of slightly larger than 130k fails, issuing "Target File Already Exists" over and over. I uninstalled 3.3.4.1, and installed version 3.1.3.1, and the file transfers fine, so it appears to not be something environmental. I then reverted back to 3.3.4.1, and it failed again in the same way.

I'm trying to send the file to a server running Windows, but I'm not sure of its version. After ensuring that the file didn't exist on the target server, I initiated the upload process. The progress info indicated that it had uploaded exactly 64K bytes, then the "Target File Already Exists" window popped up, indicating that the file already existed on the target server, with a filesize of 64k. I tell it to Overwrite, and after a few seconds, the same popup comes, this time telling me that the file on the server is 0 bytes. I hit OK (Overwrite) and I'm now in the loop of the popup appearing over and over, and the upload not completing.

Is there some option that was introduced between these two versions that I might need to set to make the upload happen properly?

Anytime i right mouse click in FileZilla it crashes the program and displays the following message ?

Also, I am running version 3.3.4. I have downloaded v. 3.3.4.1 but when I try to install it I get an 'already running' message. I have no version open, and Task Manager does not report either an Application or a Process running.

When I try to open FileZilla, I receive an error window reading "Error loading xml file

Could not load/Users.../.filezilla/filezilla.xml, make sure the file is valid.

For this session, default settings will be used and any changes to the settings are not persistent."

Upon clicking "OK," it requests that I file a bug report.

At this point, FZ opens, and my Quickconnect locations are still present, but the window opens to default settings, not the last setting entered.

When I search for ".filezilla" or "filezilla.xml," they are not found. Can these files be created somehow?

When I try to upload to a site outside my firewall, the transfer starts, then bogs down and eventually dies. Sending a similar file to a server inside the firewall send okay (so far).

I am running FZ 3.0.6 with Mac OS 10.4.11.

I tried to download a new version of FZ, but the latest version is for Mac OS 10.5+ only, and I can't find an archive on your site to download something in between 3.0 and 3.3. So, I'm still using the version I originally downloaded.

Is this a local problem, a software problem, or a user error?

FileZilla Client V3.3.4.1 The transfer queue displays different columns with captions/headings such as Direction, Remote File, Size, Priority, etc. When any caption is clicked the corresponding list below doesn’t get sorted in any order. I do not know if a sorting functionality exists for that section or it's a bug - will be extremely useful if exists; example: to select files larger than a certain size/direction/location and set specific priority to them. Also, in other sections such as the directory tree, we are able to sort in either ascending or descending order but there is no option to remove sorting i.e, a third neutral option that removes all applied sorting order or just follows default MS windows style.

i'm using an ftp proxy (suse proxy suite) it's an native ftp proxy running on port 8082

with the older filezilla version 2 its working !

but i can't upload files to the ftp server.

the upload hangs on the STOR command (after PASV) and a timeout will be generated.

with an older filezilla version it works.

If files are represented by soft-links on the server side, filezilla will create local directories with the name of the soft-link and the target file inside it.

The issue can be reproduced using the IBM's Fixcentral FTP server.

Sorry for my poor English.

I couldn't open all my media and *.css files with system file associations after I update FileZilla from 3.0.0 to 3.3.4.1.

When I open the *.css files it says, "The file (...) could not be opened: No program has been associated on your system with this file type." And FileZilla always open my media files with Windows Media Player instead of the default player "KMPlayer".

My Windows file association control panel says KMPlayer is the default player correctly so I open Regedit, and found that there are two sets for each media file type.

For example, there are two nodes, ".mp3" and "mp3File", for *.mp3 file on the Regedit tree. The "mp3File" set was created by Windows Media Player, FileZilla says "No program has been associated on your system with this file type" again after I delete it.

Maybe that's the fault of Windows but those problems are not happened in FileZilla 3.0.0.

It would be nice to have some kind of "find on this page / tab" or search feature. I use this program everyday to search multiple ftp sites and love it.

There is a lot of overlapping of command lines in the top window of filezilla client. As the command lines scroll up the toolbar buttons disappear until I mouse-over them. After the box fills up with commands, then the command write over the 'host', 'username', 'password', and 'port' boxes just below the toolbar buttons. The commands cover the toolbar buttons too.

The SiteManager/Copy feature can be improved by actually copying all the settings of a site (or at least make that an option). At the very least, I'd be happy if the remote and local default folders were copied. This way one usually has choices of closely related sites that can be easily modified. Browsing from the root makes me feel dirty, so it would be nice if browsing for the local directory started at the copied folder.
