After updating to the new version 3.10.2 on March 5, 2015 I am no longer able to view the directory listing thus unable to perform either uploads or downloads. This does not happen with my connection to GoDaddy.

As can be seen CDUP returns 200 while CWD returns 250.

This breaks i.e. the PHP function "ftp_cdup()" as it expects the 250 return code for successful operation.

I've also tested against vSFTPd, that Server returns 250 as expected.

I recently installed the FTP Client. After this I had an application called "super optimizer" installed and running without my authorization or having installed this application knowingly myself. I can only surmise that it came with the Filezilla installation. It blocked access to my desktop by displaying a dark grey window which could not be closed.
Removing the Super Optimizer was difficult because it infiltrated a lot in the Registry. I like to install the FTP Server as well but hesitate to do so with the above experience.
Are you aware of this Super Optimizer possibly being installed with FileZilla free downloads?

Just upgrade to new version; now i cannot log into server (previous version 2+ years old 3.6.02 and worked fine).

1) 2 days ago I tried to install FZ on the computer of a friend. This was a new installation.

Environment: Windows 8 + internet Explorer (IE) + Kapersky as antivirus I analyzed the exe installation file once downloaded with Kapersky, no issue reported. When I executed the file, it was hanging with an empty or black pop-up windows openening. I had to stop the computer and restart it

I think the file was around 700 ko ( the same size than the one mentioned by IE while confirming the download).

2) Today on my computer, where FZ is installed since a long time, and is runing as expected, I received an update and I see that FileZilla_3.10.2_win32-setup.exe is around 6064 Ko I got no issue while installing an using this new update.

Then I tried to download FileZilla from FZ site on my computer: Windows 7 + Chrome + Norton

Norton stopped the downloading sending messages as : "c90f.tmp (suspicious.Cloud9) deleted"

At the end no file is downloaded

the file c90f.tmp is loaded from ​http://cdn.qualitycontenthouse.com

Is the downloaded file corrupted? or is it a malware? I have no more access to the Windows 8 environment and hope to have not installed a malware on this computer which is not mine.

In both cases I started the download from: ​https://forum.filezilla-project.org/ and was redirected to sourceforge

When attempting to upload using FileZilla the server access does not list the directories. Unable to list directories is the error. At first I thought it was my problem then discovered after the update from my older version (3.9.0.5) is when the problem began. I rolled back to the 3.9.0.5 version and the app began to work correctly. I now ignore the prompt to update each time it loads. I have other clients that use FileZilla and I recommend to them not to update until further notice about this problem being solved.

On my Mac OS X (10.9.5) MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), when I unplug my external monitor the FileZilla window adapts to the new smaller built-in display by moving the entire window upward, leaving the title bar and upper panel offscreen. It remembers this new window position to that the title bar and upper panel remain offscreen even when I plug the large monitor back in, and worse, even when I quit and restart FileZilla. I cannot reach the window Zoom button, since the title bar is offscreen, and there is no Window menu from which to choose a Zoom command. On the built-in monitor, I haven't found any way out; the only solution I have found is to reattach the large monitor, go to Mission Control, and drag the FileZilla window to the smaller built-in monitor. After leaving Mission Control, FileZilla still spreads over the top edge of the built-in monitor, but the title bar is now visible on the large monitor and I can once again drag the app window and use the Zoom button. (My monitor arrangement is the 2560x1600 monitor above, with the menu bar, and the 1200x800 built-in display below left-aligned.) I can provide screen shots if needed.

I have been experiencing an error lately when I attempt to drop files into folders that are intended to replace outdated files. Perhaps some context will help...

We operate an online storefront for Neighborhood Health Plan. They have thousands of products which are identified by product codes. For example, one item might be labeled "11020". Each product has a thumbnail and full sized image which we drop into a directory in Filezilla, which we pull from when "creating the product". Thumbnail images have a _2 suffix, with _1 for the full sized image.

Now, lets say they print a new version of 11020 with new graphics, new colors, etc.. In this case we would need to create and drop in new thumbnails. So I would Scale and crop the image, save as 11020_1 and 11020_2, and drop it into the appropriate directory. When I do this, I see a prompt asking me If I want to replace the existing files with these new ones. I click yes to replace, but the file never gets swapped out. I find that the only option I have is to change the suffix to _T and _F for the new file to be available.

There are several other ramifications for this replace file bug, but I figured this was the easiest way to describe it.

On openSUSE we have quite strict wxWidgets and as a reasult I had to create patch with conversions around wxString char and wxChar, with the attached file the build again works and app seems fine.

This is happening with encrypted files only rest of the files remains same.Please assist in solving the issue. I love FileZilla and have used this program for years. I've never had an issue until this latest batch of updates. The last version that works for me is 3.9.0.6. Anything after that installs and opens fine. However, when trying to connect to my saved website (as I always have in the past - changing nothing), I get the message that it is "Retrieving directory listing...". It sits there for almost 30 seconds, then quickly spools through a few commands and ends with the red "Error: Connection timed out" and "Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing". Nothing in the settings for the connection has been changed, yet every version after the one listed gives me this problem. I have resorted to downgrading to the last working build to be able to access my websites. What is happening and how can I fix it?

Alwasy when I am uploading something to my server it does not show in the right side box (remote site:). It only appears when I click "REFRESH" seems it is not automatic have to do it manually.

Upon upgrading to version 3.10.2 I receive the following message upon connecting:

"Server sent passive reply with unroutable address. Using server address instead."

The application then proceeds to time out after 20 seconds with this message:

"Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity

Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing."

This is my second attempt to do an upgrade to 3.10.2 - with identical results. I am returning to my previous version (3.8.0) which works fine. I will ignore the update offer which automatically pops up when I open the application - a bit of a nuisance!

If the 1st character of a filename is a blank, FZ client (ver 3.10.2) does not display it. The download fails with "no such file or directory", see attached screen clip. First file is " Floral...."

ISP administrator had to fix filename (remove blank char), then downloaded OK.

After the last update of File Zilla, all of my UserName and Password information is no longer in FileZilla. It looks to have defaulted all of the file transfer information to blank. My three co-workers are also having the same issue for the files that they are trying to send.

After you reenter all of the information it seems to be saving now, but we now need to track down all of the information that is missing.

After I'v udpated Filezilla with the latets version, I recieve a fatal error on all hostings.

I have recently upgraded to the latest version of FileZilla Client and it seems that there is a bug when it comes to uploading images. Since I had upgraded to the latest version, all images I upload to my server has been detected as corrupt. It was fine before the upgrade.

I did a test and when I use the server web uploader, the images are being detected fine and I can use them. When uploading with Filezilla, the images turn out to be corrupt.

After the latest updation of FileZilla client (3.10.2), all of my FTP Account Password information changed from normal open password mode to secure base64 password format and also connection mode changed to use explicit FTP over TLS if available. Due to this I am unable to connect the FTP Servers for file transfer processes.

After I re-enter all of the information it seems to be saving now, but we now need to track down all of the information that is missing.

Currently I don't have backup of the Site Manager Information before updation to latest version.

Hello, Lately, I can not do remote of my files every time I click send files, a message appears: 552 Full Disk What can I do to work around this?

I was uploading to an FTP and wanted to change the simultaneous upload settings. Once I changed from 2 to 8 and pressed the "OK" button, FileZilla crashed. When I reopened, the setting had not been saved. I changed the setting when no transfer was happening and it saved successfully.

Since FileZilla 3.10.3-beta2 the status bar of the local file list always shows "Not connected". This does not change after connecting to a server.

Hi, I have Fz 3.10.3 version. When I upload a sub-folder to images folder, the Process Queue is working and the file transfer is completed, but the new sub-folder did not show in the images folder. My hosting server indicated that the uploaded file was present. I notified my hosting service (Inventory Source) to check on it. I do have another website hosted by Bluehost, and the FTP have the same problem. Please help to see why. Thank you. John.

In the older version the export xml file did provide the passwords of all the sites. Now with this new 3.10.3 is just shows as <PasvMode>MODE_DEFAULT</PasvMode>.What needs to happen so I can see the passwords

When downloading a file from filezilla client, the first char is cut off. This is a random event. Doesn't always happen.

Has work around: -Try to download continuously until file is complete.

Personal case: -Downloading XML files, where the first sequence of chars are <?xml and < gets cut off making the xml invalid. -Files are not larger than 2kb. -Win 8.1 Pro, Intel i3 4005U

Since updates from last few months FileZilla has been unable to connect to my web page

The Web page providers acknowledge that other FileZilla customers are experiencing the same problem and suggest I move to CuteFTP.

Using this version I cannot get the folder info on the ftp server. After a connection is made I get an "error" about the certificate used. I accept that message using the Ok button. After that the connection continues but then stops at the LIST command. This does not seem to be related to the certificate error but I am not sure. However, Filezilla 3.9.x has no problem using the site. In case it is relevant, the (Dutch) warning is: Het certificaat van de server is onbekend. Controleer het certificaat zorgvuldig om vast te stellen of de server vertrouwd kan worden.

It says the certificat is unknow. Should that be the certificate or the certificate chain as it seems to be a normal Verisign certificate. It is a RSA-SHA-1 2048bit certificate in case that is relevant.

FileZilla sometimes asks for overwriting a self-created zero byte file (with the name of the file to upload), when uploading files to my FTP server. But overwriting and/or uploading fails.

Newest version hangs retrieving directory listing on several servers, but not all. Strangely, godaddy ftp works.

Normal access with other FTP programs like Cyberduck, so it's definitely FileZilla problem.

Pain in the butt asking for certificate approval every time. What's up with that?

This version is awful. Wish I could go back to previous.

This issue is still not resolved - I see it marked as 'fixed' in other tickets.

The window is stuck at the top of the screen and cannot be moved. FileZilla version 3.10.3

The FileZilla Service is always down in period. Attached are the system logs at which time the FileZilla Service down.

And windows version here is windows 2008 R2 SP1 64bit and FileZilla version here is FileZilla_Server-0_9_45.1404181922.exe.

I am using filezilla since years, but here is what happened to me:

1) I wanted to add a simple blank 1x1-pixel.jpg on our production server, in the "media" directory.

2) there was a little lag - I was stressed - or whatever, Instead of entering the directory, I - Accidently - Drag & dropped an important part of the whole MAIN FILE TREE at a random place.

I know it's not "a bug" but fact is, it happens, and it can happen to anyone.

• it was a shared web hosting server, many production services werent available anymore until the fixe

• During this time all dataImportsManagers were still running with random results and file messing since the directory tree was broken

I ve seen others post on forums like this one, years ago, but getting (imho) dumb response like "its not important it only concern a small fragment - check your mouse sensitivity (really ??)"

This is totally wrong because it is dangerous. The only certain thing is that I ll never use filezilla again until there is an option to prevent this...

like a simple checkBox "[] disable drag & drop" ? I doubt it would require tons of time, but it sounds required.

FileZilla is great of greatest. I only wish it could get greatest of greatest. I wish there was a new layout with only single layout (only remote view where folder and file are in a tree view. It'd be very much of Mac friendly.

Hi there... We've found Filezilla to be a fantastic tool, but after your recent update, one of your more helpful features, prioritization, no longer works. It appears that once files are uploaded, Filezilla only deals with one server at a time in chronological order. Highest priority files are ignored for ones that were put in the queue first. Thus, we've had a lot of low priority files consuming time and bandwidth. Please address this. It's very challenging to use FZ without this feature working. Thanks.

I can sftp to my server using filezilla which is running SLES 11 SP2.

I have a VM running SLES 12 and it cannot sftp to it. I verified both sshd_config and they are identical and sftp is enabled.

I can use SFTP option in winscp and it works fine with SLES 12 VM guest but FileZilla sftp timed out as shown below. I guess that many people have this problem reported on web but no answer.

Every machine is behind firewall and when WinSCP using SFTP works but not FileZilla.

For every file that i edit and say yes to save changes then yes to upload when i try to send the next file it prompts me to send the previous file that i had edited instead of the one that i'm trying to send. I have to click no then yes once the file i want to send appears. this causes many duplicates files being sent at times. this ONLY happens to files that are edited first.

Using a HiDPI screen (3200x1800), almost everything looks great.

There is only a small issue: the icons in the toolbar are very small.

If I upgrade, I can't connect to my sites. It times out trying to give a directory listing.

I have a lot of sites on my site manager and it would be great if when you clicked the down arrow on the right of the main site manager button within the main filezilla window, that if the number of sites exceeds the window height, a mouse scroll would bring that list down, rather than having to click the down and up arrows to move up and down the list.

In these days I am moving some webapps from an old to a brand new server, fine tuning and testing the new version and also still developing the old one. Paths and folders are almost the same (LAMP platform) and the only distinguishing thing is the title bar or the tab bar with the remote IP address. So I am in a constant "panic" :) when I make an upload, always fearing if I am uploading at the wrong place.

MY WISH What I wish is just the ability to mark, preferably with a BACKGROUND COLOR for a better recognizability, both the local and remote panels for having an immediate conscience on "where" I am working on. So backgrounding, in my situation, the old server as reddish and the new one as greenish will make me work most confortably. Of course the bgcolor should be a stored property in the Site Manager.

Maybe this feature can be useful when simply working on multiple sites too.

I have a customer who cannot view excel spreadsheets in FileZilla client. She does monthly reports in FileZilla and last month had no issue with excel. Now this month cannot view data in the spreadsheet.

let say i have file "a.txt" in server folder "A" and i have file "a.txt" in server folder "A\B" if i drag and drop file from server folder B to server folder ".." (top most), then file will be moved to folder A without confirmation.

The ftp server has an IP in the 212 range so it is not local, the PORT command is something local but gets an 'Illegal PORT command' as response. Connection is then lost and I need to disconnect and reconnect to proceed.

We are able to download but cannot upload anything

Hello, if I want to do an update of Filezilla client, there is no connection to internet. In our system we use an proxy server. We use the internet settings to set up the proxy settings. In some programs there is the possibility to set up an proxy or the program uses the proxy from internet settings, but filezilla doesn't do this. Can you give the chance to setup the proxy for updater in later versions?

Large files (>about 200Mb) get to 100% download and then after a short time commence downloading again. The resultant downloaded file is exactly twice the size of the original file. This does not seem to happen with smaller files and happens with transfer settings at both Auto and Binary. I am using Version 3.10.3

When I open Filezilla it opens on the screen of my 17" Macbook Pro in a way that does NOT allow me to use it because the top half of the opened program is stuck ABOVE the top of my display and I can't drag or move it anywhere else on my screen to use it. PLEASE SEE SCREENSHOT. I have tried to open it while using an external monitor and without an external monitor and the problem persists either way. I sent a support ticket (or maybe it was a forum post) quite a long time ago and the problem is still there and even with the latest version. I'm amazed that no one else has reported this since then. I set up the "debug" for 3 like you said but I don't see how I can access that information to give to you. Please fix because I really need to use Filezilla asap.

When I retrieve from my server a very large file, in this case 4.42GB, filezilla reads the size wrong, ~260 MB. The download goes succesfully (I guess it doesn't stop until it reaches EOF) but I get the >100% message which is annoying since I dont know if its about to finish/ever going to.

Its not a server error becuase my android ftp client reads the size correctly.

Filing or editing a bug report, or adding a comment, take about 30 seconds to one minute. This is not usable.

According to Wikipedia the CIDR notation to block all IP addresses is "0.0.0.0/0". When I try to type in this value the application says "invalid IP address/range". Since the notes at the bottom specifically say that CIDR is supported shouldn't this be a valid value?

Hello, when I download a folder from the server it always happen that Filezille begin asking me if I want to override the files I am downloading as if they were already on my machine.

I make an example: I download the folder "Wordpress" from my website on my Desktop. Filezilla starts to download it on my Desktop. After a few download it begins asking me: "the file ... already exists, do you want to override it?"...

How can I fix it?

I recently deleted 2 bookmarks and the other bookmarks changed and had to be redone so they would work the way they did before deleting the 2 bookmarks.

After install Client 3.11.0 (64 bits) I cannot log on my local FTP server. If I disable the Antivirus(Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10.1.0.867) then I can log.

The version 3.11.0 has an bug with this language. All the program layout is showing the English language instead PT-BR.

We are currently experiencing an issue with the latest version of the client (3.11.0(x64)) where it is unable to open the data connection after entering passive mode and entering MLSD.

This is however is only the case (as far as we have seen) on Windows 7 x64 Professional as the connection works as expected on Windows 8.1 x64.

As can be seen it connects fine on Win 8.1 and 'ftptest.net' however is having issues on the Windows 7 x64 machine. These issues are not present however in earlier versions of FileZilla (versions 3.2.7 and 3.9.0.6 to be precise).

The latest version of FileZilla does not allow access to my "uploads" directory on Ubuntu, this worked in all previous versions:

We updated our filezilla clients to 3.11.0 but then could not establish a conection to FTP server. Several users were connected earlier in the day. All failed after update to 3.11.0. No change to server or firewall. Other FTP clients will work. Error message below:

Error: The data connection could not be established: ENETUNREACH - Network unreachable.

What happened to the timezone file created/uploaded time with the recent FZ version change?

I connect to a server on the west coast that is -2 hours from my CST location.

I edit/save a file locally (say 8:00pm or 20:00 hours). The uploaded/updated time is reflecting a time of 1:00pm or 13:00 hours?

WHY?

This used to work with the DEFAULT settings just A-OK under Win 7 SP1.

Now it is NOT working?!?

My FTP server is pure-ftpd(v1.0.31). I can see the contents of the FTP Server by using FileZilla 3.10.3, But I can not see any contents of the FTP server by using FileZilla 3.11.0.1.

In addition, if the FTP server is vsftpd(v3.0.2), FileZilla 3.11.0.1 can display the contents of the server normally.

Hi why not change from svn to git. using gerrit and gitblit plugin.

It would make reviewing code and upload code so much easer to review and for code reviewing in a good designed website.

And using gerrit 2.11 would let users upload changes without having to download and upload through ssh.

I have the following ftp account on BlueHost

When I try to login using 3.11.0.1 the ftp communication fails at the line

open "guest@…@ftp.arkfriends.net" 22

with a time out error

The interactive login also fails.

Using a ftp server for long time, after update to 3.11 they show all directory except one ????

Clients running KES10 MR1 upgraded to Filezilla 3.11.0.1 and were no longer able to access FTP sites. Disabling KES seemed to fix the issue temporarily. Downgrading to FZ 3.10.2 resolved the issue.

We use your software to manage multiple login accounts for many different clients on a regular basis. By default the site dropdown list box expands off-screen beyond the windows frame panel and I cannot easily scroll to view saved connections on the lower portion of the list.

Having the dropdown be bound to the windows frame and implementing a nice scrollable option for an extensive catalog of saved connections, would gain much added value for power users such as myself. yes I know you can click on it manually and connect through where you add new connections but let's be real... who does that.

Even having the dropdown expand into multiple columns once it reaches a certain amount of list items would give me much more real estate to work with as far as usability.

There is a similar suggestion submitted 6 weeks ago (Ticket #10390).

Filters, historically - whether correct or not - have been used to SHOW things, not HIDE things. FZ uses them to hide things, which is not apparent.

A simple addition of text in the filter dialogs to alert users that checked items will not be shown would be very helpful.

A few days ago, I upgraded to Filezilla Client 3.11.0.1 I don't remember which version I had before. But before this featuer was working and now it does not anymore.

I can only transfer 1 file at a time, even if I change the settings for the simultaneous downloads / uploads / transfers. This is at least true, when I have already files waiting in a queue to transfer.

(I believe in my previuos Filezilla Version, there was only one setting for simultaneous transfers(?) In that version, this feature worked fine)

I use the german version.

in trying to set up the application, I've been locked out.

Version 3.11.0.1 Multiple remote file deletions fail after about 500 files - reports "Connection closed by server". These files on the server are all in one directory - they are approximately 50k jpg files.

I suppose this could be a "server problem", but this always worked ok in the past. Seems like this has happened for the past year. I keep updating versions, but the problem persists. Not a big deal, it just takes longer.

I am unable to connect to the following server: ​sftp://ftp.menard-inc.com. After putting in the user name and password it comes up with the following errors: Error: Authentication failed. Error: Critical error Error: Could not connect to server

I also am unable to upgrade to the latest version. I have tried downloading it through the FileZilla application but it never saves it.

Home network, three computers. Desktop computer with FTP server connected to router via a wired connection. Two laptop computers with Filezilla FTP clients connected to router via wireless connections; one runs Windows XP and an older Filezilla client, while the other runs Windows 7 and has the latest Filezilla client 3.11.0.2. Everything is DHCP.

Router dynamically assigned 192.168.0.101 to the desktop machine. Both laptop Filezilla FTP clients have entries in the Site Manager to connect to host 192.168.0.101. Both worked just fine for months and months.

Following a recent power outage, router dynamically assigned 192.168.0.100 to the desktop machine with FTP server. Site Manager on the Windows XP machine was updated to point to 192.168.0.100, and it works. Site Manager on the Windows 7 machine was updated to point to 192.168.0.100, but sometimes it works and sometimes it does NOT work. When it does NOT work, the router has assigned the Windows 7 laptop 192.168.0.101 (the previous address of the desktop FTP server). When it does work, the router has assigned the Windows 7 laptop some other IP, such as 192.168.0.103 (the most recent time it worked). When it fails, the messages are "Connecting to 192.168.0.100", "Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity", and "Could not connect to server". The automatic retry yields the same set of errors. Meanwhile, the FTP server on the desktop machine shows no attempt to connect from another machine on the home network. And the Windows XP machine has absolutely no trouble connecting.

Speculation: something in Filezilla "remembers" that the FTP server used to be 192.168.0.101 (even though the IP was changed in the Site Manager), so when the router assigns 192.168.0.101 to the Windows 7 laptop, Filezilla tries to connect to "itself" and fails. When the router assigns 192.168.0.103 (or 102, or 104, or 105) to the Windows 7 laptop, everything works just fine.

I suppose I could learn how to configure the router so that it forces a particular IP onto a machine and that would get around the problem, but it sure looks like there is a bug in Filezilla.

when using the Quickconnect Filezilla uses FTP as a protocol.

It would be a nice to have if you could specify explicitly (just an extra checkbox) in the Quickconnect bar that sFTP needs to be used.

We have a lot of external users (not very IT savy) and I always recommend them to use Filezilla but they also always use the Quickconnect option (rather than the site manager). Our server does not allow FTP connection at all...
