#10316 closed Bug report (wontfix)
Fail to download with 1st char of filename blank
|Reported by:||Richard J||Owned by:|
|Component version:||Operating system type:||Windows|
|Operating system version:||Win 7 64-bit curr updates|
If the 1st character of a filename is a blank, FZ client (ver 3.10.2) does not display it. The download fails with "no such file or directory", see attached screen clip. First file is " Floral...."
ISP administrator had to fix filename (remove blank char), then downloaded OK.

Are you using LIST or MLSD? It should be noted that Filezilla cannot track leading spaces in filenames or directories if using LIST.
Per the Filezilla Wiki:
FileZilla ignores leading space of filename or directory
This happens on FTP servers not supporting the MLSD command. On those servers FileZilla falls back to LIST. Unfortunately the listing format returned by LIST is not standardised. It is impossible to distinguish leading spaces from padding. To solve this issue, simply upgrade to a modern server supporting the MLSD command or refrain from using leading spaces.
If this is an issue using MLSD, let us know.
Best of luck,
