Downloaded your new updated version and am getting a big box that says your "Certificate is not Validated". Your certificate has expired. Valid from 10/7/13 to 10/7/14. Can't update my website because of the following error

"The signature was not verified"

I'm unable to run any version of Filezilla products (Server and client) on windows XP (earlier it was possible without any problem) and get an error that it isn't correct 32-bit application. Please correct it, do separate version for 32 and 64-bit systems and modiffy requirments that it would allow to run on all versions of Windows

Can you please modify the update dialog box to install the update AFTER exiting the program?

As currently implemented, the program checks for updates and downloads a new version, then prompts you to install it NOW. The only other option is to close the dialog, after which it is easy to forget or lose track of the downloaded location. It won't give you the option to put the dialog in the background and continue to use FZ, and then come back to it later.

It is irritating to expect to use FZ for a task only to be forced to deal with the update before use. Giving the option to install the update after exiting the program allows us to do the job we intended to do and still perform the update. Thanks!

At each update, the desktop icon is rewritten and any keyboard user shortcut such as Str-F used to launch FileZilla is forgotten.

I have recently upgraded to the latest version of FileZilla Client and it seems that there is a bug when it comes to uploading images. Since I had upgraded to the latest version, all images I upload to my server has been detected as corrupt. It was fine before the upgrade.

I did a test and when I use the server web uploader, the images are being detected fine and I can use them. When uploading with Filezilla, the images turn out to be corrupt.

After i installed the 3.10 version all my passwords was base64 encoded. Now i can't connect to any server in the list. Passwords are longer than before.

How can i retrieve my passwords? I'm trying with base64 decoder online. But it doesn't work. If i re-set passwords manually it works. The problem is that i don't have all my old password's clients. Anyone can help me?

I am also a victim of latest released version of Filezilla FTP Client 3.10.* bug which totally crashed/changed all of my FTP account informations (nearly 100 +) stored in the SiteManager.xml file encoded with base64 secure password mode from normal insecure mode and also changed each/every encryption mode to Use Explicit FTP over if TLS available.

I have seen lot of tickets raised by so many users regarding the latest release version bug and response/reply provided by Filezilla Development team for the tickets showing their irresponsibility, inability, incapability and inexperience in handling/ providing a solution for the reported issue. Also trying to escape from the issue without providing a solid/concrete solution.

Why wouldn't the process of automated backup of SiteManager file not being included for each and every updation of filezilla FTP client. If it is included or available which keeps avoiding many complications occur after updation and also easiest for the users to revert back to working version using the backup-ed version of sitemanager without spending so much time in research process after updation and waiting to hear an permanent solution from your end which never going to happen.

Since upgrading to v3.10.3 Filezilla has become slower and slower when connecting to my two main servers

It connects and then hangs on 'waiting for welcome message' after about 40 seconds it then displays the directory - once connected, switching between the directories is rapid, but as soon as it needs to reconnect (or upload a file) there is that long delay.

Both servers are running Centos 5 Linux - I have tried using both normal FTP (unsecured) and FTP with TLS, neither make a difference.

The problem was exacerbated in v3.10.3 (the previous v3.10 was not quite as bad), so I have had to uninstall the program and revert to an earlier version

When opening existing sites on site manager if there are too many sites, there is a caret at the bottom of the list and by clicking on it other sites are viewed. Here is the feature request; I'd like to be able to scroll down via mouse wheel to see other sites. Thanks in advance.

If I connect to a webserver, and browse to any remote directory, all subsequent connects start in the last directory browsed. the setting in Default Remote directory is ignored. I have to quit the filezilla client and reopen in order for the setting to work.

I would expect that a connection would connect to the directory specified.

if you save a new server to the manager with (3.11.0.1) all passwords of all saved servers will be broken! This is crtitial decidedly not just for me.

Inside the appdata/remote directory, with "Hidden" checked and applied in Local filters in "Directory listing filters", no files beginning with .[x] is displayed.

For example, Minecraft stores its files in appdata/remote/.minecraft and yet even with Hidden files enabled, that directory does not appear.

Please see the comprehensive screenshot attached.

Currently, the workaround is to type the known directory name directly into Local Site directory field. The problem is, you must be able to see the directory names you need to access.

It's logged in successfully but 95 % times it's got failed to retrieve directory listing. The problem was not available till version 3.9.0.6.

your install process is very unfriendly since it installed mackeeper which is by the way malware, onto my computer with no previous warning. If you'll state that there's an option to clear the auto install please include a screenshot and let me know how clearly was it stated?

If you need money why don't you charge for your software? I'm willing to pay rather than be screwed. I will, most definitely, spread this info like an ebola virus in a contained space throughout every forum I'm registered to. Hopefully filezilla will become a thing of the past which is a waste of talent. It had a great future.

If I remove the version 3.11.02 and install version

When I open the FZ client, it tries to connect by default to the local site that it had last connected to, say
Machine1

This is great, except for one day when Machine1 stopped responding - I could ping it, but I couldn’t connect to
Machine1 in Windows Explorer or by Remote Desktop. The problem on Machine1 was not caused by FZ, it was because Machine1 didn’t have enough free CPU and RAM (Machine1 was OK after our tech support restarted it the next morning).

However when I opened the FileZilla client on my PC, it tried to connect to
Machine1 and so FZ froze. I couldn’t find a way to stop FZ from trying to connect to
Machine1 and ended up re-installing FZ.

Please provide a way to stop the FZ client from trying to connect to a local site. Or at least put a time-out of, say, 10 seconds. I’m using Windows 7.1 (with the latest Win Updates, and anti-virus updates); file log was not enabled so I don’t have any logs to send.

I am unable to use your SEARCH function to find spots among the many folders in my OnMedia folders. Can you help? Nothing on my end has changed unless the network people in New York did something?

Please HELP me ASAP, as we receive hundreds of spots monthly. For now I am downloading all your spots to a 2TB drive so I can search that but if you add spots top folders then I am dead in the water as to trying to find it.

The expected behavior is that Filezilla will connect and delete the file, but nothing happens. Here is the log:

But the remote file /var/www/html/testfile will not be deleted.

In the window for customizing file associations, filezilla shows an example command line instruction for creating the association. The instruction for the mac version starts with c:\program files\... which is for Windows OS instead of MacOS.

Let's say we have a directory A, with a directory B inside of it, and we click to view directory B. If we right click directory B and delete it, it succeeds, and FileZilla sends off the "update this view" request. This request results in an "Error: Unable to open .: no such file or directory" because, of course, the directory it wants was removed.

As a result of the error, the directory is not removed from the remote site tree view because the listing failed. Also unfortunately if you try to click around to the parent directory or other directories to get back to places that do exist, all you get is the "Ding!" error sound.

Clicking the refresh button while selecting another (existing) directory doesn't fix this state. To do that you need to click the cancel current operation button and select yes. Afterwards you are then free to select the parent directory which successfully lists its contents, and the directory is now removed from the view.

It seems to me it would be nice, from a user point of view, to check if you're deleting the directory you're currently viewing and instead of trying to refresh the current directory after the deletion succeeds, refresh the parent directory instead.

After uploading multiple files, the protocol section of the FileZilla GUI results in a graphics error so that icon disappear. I noticed this error already a view versions ago.

Is there any problem if I use special character such as ";", "," in the file name? Actually, I uploaded a file with name "EC FA 3.1.2.1-10, 12&19 230715.doc". The upload is successful but the download is failed.I cannot download the file and it became two files "EC FA 3.1.2.1-10" and "12&19 230715.doc".

When you have a lot of entries in your site manager it gets hard to use. Can a tree view be implemented to so you can organise the entries?

Since your email didn't make it to my inbox or spam folder, I'd make a(n educated) guess you're stuck in the 1990's mentality where domain names can't have a hyphen (-). That is no longer the case - and hasn't been for over a decade. Perhaps it's time to update some of your algorithms?

This started quite a few updates ago. I searched for the symbol using gdb and can't find it. I suspect either libfilezilla or WXwidgets but haven't searched those yet. I have updated WXwidgets, libfilezilla and filezilla. Ubuntu 14.04 is also current with all updates.

Yes, I tried the forums, but there is no such issue. The forums also are quite adamant about refusing me to register with a google E-Mail address. I am NOT going to change my E-Mail. If necessary I'll use the much older filezilla from my distribution.

I appreciate there would be considerable overhead in continually refreshing the display of the remote system so I’m not asking for that. However, I think it would be beneficial to automatically refresh the details of any files(s) about to be uploaded. Allow me to explain.

I upload FRED.TXT to a Linux server. On that server I discover a problem so I delete FRED.TXT from the remote system. Having locally modified FRED.TXT I attempt to upload the revised file, which produces a warning: “Target file already exists” even though it doesn’t.

Of course, if I had clicked the icon for “Refresh the file and folder lists” this message would not appear.

My question is as follows: can FileZilla automatically check to see if FRED.TXT still exists on the remote system?

Hello, When I tried to run file zilla I am getting some kind error message

Error loading xml file c:\users\Indomain\Appdata\Roaming\FileZilla\sitemanager.xml could not be loaded. No document element found at offset 5154. The site manager cannot be used unless the file gets repaired.

After FileZilla Client does an update check (either automatically or manually) and determines that an update is needed, it downloads the update file to the %DOWNLOADS% folder. You can then choose to run the Update file and patch the Client software. It will close and reopen when completed. At this point though, the file that was downloaded is still in the %DOWNLOADS% directory. There is no benefit to leaving this file behind once the upgrade has taken place. Even if the upgrade fails, another copy can/will be downloaded if you allow the client software to initiate the update process for you. It would make for a cleaner installation to simply delete/purge the file instead of leaving it (and however many other copies of updates) in the Downloads folder, where some unsavvy PC users might never see them to delete them.

I have downloaded FileZilla because I haven't found in in the repositories (3.16.1). While starting from the console, I get the following lines, but in the GUI, I don't see an error:

I have downloaded the package (FileZilla_3.16.1_x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.bz2 from sourceforge). Then I have unzipped it and started the binary as normal user in a subfolder of my homedirectory.

The package is linked against wxWidgets 3.0.3 and I'm using KDE Plasma 5.5.5

I have seen issues like this on several forums since years. Therefore I stayed on FZ 2.8. Now it seems that I have to change die to some addl issues. PS: I never had, so far, an issue with 3.8

Usability issue while trying to download a file that is currently in cache. For example, i have file.txt already editing, when i try to re-download this file it shows me a dialog like something (see screenshot). Using mouse i need to click two (x2) times to re-dowload this file. I propose to make choices to be simple buttons instead of radio buttons, in that way to make one (x1) click to make desired action. I know i can use keyboard with one enter, but current design does not make any sense.

I try to select a key in .ssh from the GUI seen below, but the private key file and host file don't show up. I can work around this by either drag and dropping the key from nautilus to the filezilla GUI or just writing the path of the key. But it would be still nice to just see the keys. Yes hidden files are enabled and yes I selected the tab all files.

When I upload multiple files sometimes a particular file is uploaded to the server with zero bytes. The file can be different from time to time, so not the same file gets uploaded with zero bytes. Usually these files are small.

Hi,

In previous versions you could select multiple files and copy ALL the URL information to the clipboard using <Copy URL(s) to Clipboard> by right mouse clicking.

For some reason the latest version for both Windows and OSX will only copy one URL.

Please fix this bug as this is a very useful function to be able to copy more than one URL at at time.

If the user name for a session includes an @ symbol, e.g. matt@foobar, the FTP session tab is labeled as matt%40foobar@…. The same thing happens in the list for the pulldown to the right of the Quickconnect button. I don't remember this percent-encoding, i.e. %40 = @ being used until what must have been a fairly recent version. I'd prefer to see matt@foobar@… even if that means showing two @ symbols. I'm attaching a partial screenshot of an FTP session tab where domain name is partly blacked out.

When clearly i can see the dialog.

If i want to copy the text from the log area it seems there are no option in the context menu when i right click to select all the text. So i have to press Ctrl + A first. Then i can copy the text in the context menu.

I suggest adding "Select all" menu item to the context menu. Change "&Copy to clipboard" to just "&Copy" like in så many programs Edit menu it is just called Copy.

After i insert the text in a editor i see the tabs don't match:

Maybe add drop drown arrow to folder comparision because just like for site manager so all icons that have drop down menu use the drop down arrow (is the system allows).

As it is now it seems that both the site manager icon and the folder comparison icon have a drop down menu, but only the site manager icon have a drop down arrow next to its icon.

I think it would be more consistent instead og having to right click to see folder comparison drop down, and left click to see the site manager drop down.

For example, I opened this path "/home/user/web/site.com/public_html/assets/css". Now, if I want to go back to the "/home/user" directory I should level up several times (moreover sometimes, it happens with delays due to server response). To improve this, it would be great to have paths clickable and when I click on the "user" should open this directory.

Of course, to not break old behaviour, when I click on the end of the path or on the slash, it should highlight it as before and let me copy/paste/edit paths. As another option, it should open desired directory only on double-click.

The OS X FileZilla window name shows the FTP account description and the username as a window title. It seems that you're using URL-encoding, at least partially. E.g., a username containing the + character will instead display %2.

Currently FileZilla will check for new versions at start up. When I open FileZila is not because I am hoping to find an update, but because I want to get some work done. Often I am operating under some time pressure.

I want to stay up to date. But I want it to be a background process that happens when the program closes, not when it opens (which makes we wait between 1 and 3 minutes every time the program starts).

So please create an option that will move the update check alert to the shutdown sequence. I am picturing a dialog that says something like "FileZilla has been updated. would you like have the new version installed after shutdown?". I can't imagine a time when I would say no to that request.

I love that FileZilla is still under active development. I am glad you push updates regularly. I could just disable the update check. But I don't want that.

Each time I update FileZilla, it gets unpinned from the Windows 10 start menu, and I have to pin it again.

I update using the regular procedure: when I get the notification, I click on the "update now" button and follow the wizard.

When scrolling through sites on the site manager, if you select a site that uses keys to authenticate, and those key files are missing, a pop up appears saying:

However, when you attempt to select another site from the list, the pop up still appears, and does not allow you to use the site manager without closing and reopening the window.

While the bug could be fixed by simply stopping the pop-up from appearing again after you select another site, I would like to propose that the key not found be moved into the site manager itself, instead of a popup, perhaps as a colored warning below the key file selector. This would have the benefit of not stopping a user from scrolling down through the list and getting pop-ups for sites he is not interested in, only getting the alert within the window when he stops on a site.

note: this also happens on the linux versions of filezilla.

The "Target file already exists" dialog box doesn't handle source or destination filenames in directories with long names or deep paths, as it pushes the Actions part of the dialog off the far right of the dialog rending the options unreadable.

This dialog cannot be resized either, meaning one has to either have memorised the Actions or simply guess!

I have a number of filezilla shortcuts on my desktop, each of which connect to different FTP sites. I have the command-line set up in each of them to automatically connect to a given site.

The bug is that when FileZilla opens and there is an update available then it updates and then restarts without being logged in anymore.

It should remember the account that it was logged in to, perhaps by restarting using the same command-line as was used originally.

As a workaround I have to manually close FileZilla and then find the shortcut again to restart it.

When resizing the window to a smaller size, the quick connect button gets hidden behind the other controls. I would suggest setting a minimum width on the form so it doesn't get small enough to cause the controls to shift.

Filezilla does not connect to my ftp server.

Can anyone tell what's wrong? I'd like to use FileZilla rather than the other methods.

I am unable to delete files on windows 2012 server. The user has given full rights on filezilla server application, connecting to the ftp server with windows "network location" as a ftp folder in explorer.

Also same user name is created as local user in the windows server, with full permission to the selected folder.

I can rename the files, but cannot delete them, and there is no error logged in the logs, just mentioned as below:

When entering or leaving Task View in Windows 10, sometimes the folder tree and file pane listings refresh. This is slower than a normal refresh and entails (in "Widescreen" view) the local folder pane, local file list pane, remote folder pane and finally remote file list pane being blanked in that order, and then redrawn in that order, quite visibly.

After enabling (and since disabling) the Task View taskbar button, the fault has gone away. It's strangely intermittent; having just closed the program and re-opened it, the fault has not returned. Upgrading it to the most recent version seemed to have triggered it (I don't think I've seen it for a while) and it's cleared again.

After entering Task View, the refresh can be seen in the thubmnail of the window, so long as it's not minimised.

I seem to recall seeing this in "older" 10; it's also the case in Anniversary Edition, both 64-bit.

I suspect this is another "it's just you" bugs!

this is not working on ipv6, i have used 4g net but filezilla stops working at ipv6.

Since I use NET (internet connection provider in Brazil) it is very rare (bellow 1%) to connect to any server using SFTP. But using SFTP/FTP on Sublime, it's ok to connect. TLS is not accessible on FileZilla too. But using insecure connection it's always ok. When I was customer from a different Internet provider, everything was ok.

If you right-click on the queue of transfers, there is an option "stop and remove all". By doing that, as a result, the files that are currently being transferred will usually be broken at the destination (e.g. on the server if being uploaded).

So, this option is not always viable.

There should be (in addition) another option called something like "remove all files not being transferred", which would remove from the queue all files except those whose transfer has already transferred. So, you would have a way to stop a transfer without leaving broken files.

Currently there's no way to accomplish that, and this is pathetic.

Note that manually selecting and removing all non-transferring files is usually not possible because by the time you are done selecting all files, chances are that the first ones in the selection have already started being transferred.

Link "Looking for the latest version?" points to 3.17.0_x64 version, but the actual latest version is 3.25.1

When scrolling down the list of sites in Site Manager there is a semi-long and very annoying pause. This pause does not happen in other areas of FileZilla when scrolling down (for example the Local site or remote site file folder list)

This bug was introduced maybe 1-2 years ago, it never used to be this way. Affects three different Mac computers. Does not affect Windows client.

Not sure if it's possible but could the "Install New Version" prompt appear when closing Filezilla rather than opening it. Generally I am opening Filezilla to complete a task and don't want to stop what I'm doing to do an update, however once the task is completed I would happily allow an update to run.
