After upgrading to 3.10.1.1 experienced a problem with editing file with the same name. As far as I can see it's a know issue which should be fixed with this relase, but it is not.

Downgrading to 3.10.0.2 fixed the issue.

Steps to reproduce:

• View/Edit folder1/file1.php
• View/Edit filder2/file1.php
• File has changed dialog appears even if it is not changed

Using editor Notepad++ (not upgraded recently)

I connect to a server, then establish a connection to a different server in a new tab.

(See screenshot 1.)

Instead of creating a new tab alongside the old one, it creates a new screen that overlays the old one, but is slightly smaller.

There is no way to switch between the two tabs.

This has been a problem since FileZilla version 3.9.0.6. I am now using FileZilla version 3.10.1.1, and the problem remains.

The AIX is a VM on VIOS 2.2.2.1. Works fine with 3.9.0.5.

Hi, for about 3 months or more I have problem when I try drag&drop folder/file to my Explorer, so I have to download it to current local directory set in FileZilla :/ I am updating with releases continously, so FileZilla is reinstalled very often. we are using active directory and roaming profile, because of this %appdata% is

even the domain admin, which has a local admin rights on the machine where filezilla is runnign is giving

we don not have any problem with all the other software we use.

Repro:

1. Start a big file download.
2. Reboot the server to force the connection to drop. I used a Windows 2012 R2 IIS FTP site and rebooted the entire machine.
3. Observe, that the file transfer starts anew. This is a problem if the file takes a few days to download. A lot of progress is lost.

Note, that the typical dialog asking the user how to resolve a conflict (skip, overwrite, resume, ...) did not appear.

Desired behavior: Ask the user or simply resume the file download.

Should be easy to repro. I have had this problem many times already.

Sometimes, sleeping the client machine at night and resuming it in the morning also causes this issue.

Version: 3.10.02. Has been happening for a long time, though. Nothing new.

My local macports repo build of FileZilla broke between 3.10.0.2 and 3.10.1.1. The build broke on tlssocket.h being included in a couple of files because ECONNABORTED was not defined. This broke in r6382.

Attached is a patch to include errno.h so that it is defined.

Hi We have a few clients that receive the message "Failed to load SSL libraries" when trying to connect to our FileZilla Server. Our Users are currently running FileZilla 3.10.1.1 and our FileZilla Server version is 0.9.43. We understand that there are newer versions of the FileZilla Server, but since this server is in production we do not want upgrade (which will affect other clients) until we know for sure other that it will address this issue. Other Technical information about this issue is:

We have currently set up the Server to use FTPS on Port 990. The Server Certificate is a FileZilla generated cert using TLS 1.2 On the Server when the connection fails we can see a message in the log: "431 Could not initialize SSL connection"

The clients are set to use: Protocol: FTP- File Transfer Protocal Encryption: Require implicit FTP over TLS Logon Type: Normal

Filezilla on OS X 10.10 crashes after being idle in the background/minimized for long periods of time.

It happens frequently i will be posting debug info on the next crash if possible.

Several times with all version of FZ I have encountered messages saying the source file already exists in an otherwise empty directory I am populating.

Searching the source for duplicates does not produce any. This most usually happens with very large uploads (3000 or more files) The timestamp on the source file is always older than the destination one. My solution has been to set "overwrite if source is newer which leaves the original transfer alone but the problem for me is it often takes hours to do this and sometimes it is next day before I find the message. FZ version 1.10.11 also shows occasional failed transfers :Could not start transfer.

Problems uploading since new version of FZ updated Insecure server messages never had before, files don't load or fail. I had an older version of FZ on another PC and it is fine. Also more stable when dragging and dropping files, new version skips down remote directory files

I have not been able to access this server with the updated versions of FileZilla - I have asked host and they agree that certificate is there and is correct and in date etc and therefore I should be able to access via TLS and thus a filezilla bug (?)

Unable to install Filezilla (tried 3.10.1.1 or 3.9.0.6) on my desktop. Getting ....win32-setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application. Help will be appreciated.

I connect to my hosting service just fine this morning. After updating to the latest version, I can not login to anywhere. I used another computer with an older version of FileZilla and logged in just fine.

After updating this morning, the new version failed to login on my Server. Restoring the system - and everything worked perfectly - with the old version 3.9.0.2

We are seeing scrambled permissions set with FileZilla 3.10.1.1. Multiple web developers have uploaded content to a web server that should have directory permissions of 775 and file permissions of 644. The server's umask is set to these values as a default, and previous versions of FileZilla uploaded files without problem.

After a blanket update from 3.9.06 to 3.10.1.1, uploaded directories had permissions set to 7644, 755, or in some cases 700. Uploaded files had permissions set to 640 or, in some cases, 700. The client machines were running both Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.9.

Reuploading the files using a non-FileZilla FTP client (Fetch on Macs, WS_FTP on Windows) had permissions properly set. Downgrading to FileZilla 3.7.3 (what we had cached) corrected the permissions problem, though it has other issues.

I just upgraded to the current version today and now I can't communicate with the FTP service. Here is the command line summary:

I made no changes to the log-in information, but now it won't get the directory listing.

Description of problem:

Upload of folders: FileZilla creates the list of files (to be uploaded) and starts uploading the first one. When 100% ready, then it starts with the same file from the beginning.

Site Manager currently sorts as follows:

we extensively make use of user descriptions. Very often we put a lot of information in it. It would be very nice to have word wrap in order to see all Information at a glance. An other solution to this could be a larger control size.

Hello, Since a couple of weeks, when I set a "speed limit" to my downloads, they start but about 5 minutes later, they "stop". Actually, the current transfer still appears, nothing apparently changes, but the speed freezes at its last value and the transfer stops in reality. I can stop the queue processing... I mean Filezilla is not "frozen".

I can close and restart Filezilla to get it working again, but with the same problem 5 minutes later. Everything is ok if no speed limit is enabled.

It would be nice to have an option to save and pre-populate the local and remote site drop down contents on a site by site basis as very often we are visiting the same sites over and over again. If this is an option, then it might be nice to allow removing folders from that list.

I have upgraded filezilla to 3.10.1.1 and from then i am not able to connect ftp server. Please advise to resolve this issue asap.

System: Mac OS 10.9.5 FileZilla Client 3.10.1.1 I am running a laptop connected to a larger monitor. Monitor and laptop windows align at top. Dock is on larger monitor but applications open on laptop.

Steps to reproduce: Open FileZilla client from dock or direct from applications folder. FileZilla opens on laptop screen. Toolbar is not visible, though it is checked on view menu. Top of main window is not visible, so initial file listing is only partly visible. There is no way to drag the window down.

Every time I want to copy a file/dir name with "right clic->copy" it "freezes" filezilla just after I do right clic. After that, I can only kill the process using OS task killer.

It only tested it under Ubuntu (any version) and I can confirm that it doesn't happens under Windows. I'm using FileZilla 3.7.3 but the bug has been there for a long time.

I've implemented Kerberos/GSSAPI support (RFC 2228) for the FileZilla client. I've made sure my changes work against the most recent source code of FileZilla. I've tested this on MacOS X and Windows, and I believe there should be no problems having it work on Linux.

I'd like to get this into the FileZilla source code. So ... what do I need to do to make this happen? Should I just post the patch here?

Currently you can only hide the local tree view. I don't use the local section. I only use the remote section and drag & drop.

Is there a way to hide the entire local section? It's extra space that I could use.

When downloading to USB drive in Windows 7, if the drive disconnects for any reason the file download stops and does not restart when the drive reconnects. The file name of the partially downloaded file is moved to the successfully downloaded window instead of the download failed window. This makes you believe you downloaded the entire file successfully but instead you only downloaded part of the file and you have to check each file to make sure you downloaded all of the file.

It used to work correctly in older versions of the client.

If I type /tmp/ in Local site, it works fine. if I then type ~ in Local site, it says: '/tmp/~' does not exist or cannot be accessed.

It seems to look for ~ as a subdirectory of the current directory.

If I do, I can't connect to an FTP site. I always time out. So I then have to just reinstall 3.7.3 which works properly.

Is it possible to have one default action after completing the queue? Refer to snapshot attached for clarity.

Right now, FileZilla uses fz3temp-1, fz3temp-2 based on Tabs open.

But if we are editing same files in differente server, we could easily mess things.

Like c:\temp\fz3temp-1\htaccess and c:\temp\fz3temp-2\htaccess

If we could use IP or Connection name in its temporary directory, we could get the context quickly without having to worry about misleading.

If possible, use something like this to help us when editing files. Like c:\temp\fz3temp-PRODUCTION_SERVER\htaccess and c:\temp\fz3temp-BETA_SERVER\htaccess

OR

Like c:\temp\fz3temp-10_1_0_18\htaccess and c:\temp\fz3temp-192_168_0_103\htaccess

with Speedlimit e.g. parameters Down 400 KiB/s Up 200 KiB/s archive-Files like ZIP or GZ are downloaded in correct file size but are sometimes, but not always corrupt, this depends on the file size. The bigger in size the more sure the file will be corrupt. When trying to extract such a file with 7Zip the error message will be either "Data error in archived_filename. File is broken" or "Can not open ArchiveFilename as an archive" or "An attempt was made to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file."

I am using IPv4 and IPv6 on my internal network, but I don't have IPv6 internet access (yet). By contrast, www.cisco.com currently has 3 addresses: 2a02:26f0:ca:286::90 2a02:26f0:ca:290::90 23.195.11.243

I can connect to that website, because the web browser (IE/Firefox) realises that the IPv6 address is inaccessible and so it uses IPv4 instead. I think that FileZilla should behave the same way for FTP sites.

As a workaround, I typed in the IPv4 address for ftp.cisco.com (72.163.7.54) and then FileZilla connected successfully.

With option --disable-manualupdatecheck there is error wxTimerEvent not declared in Mainfrm.h I saw that the file call updater.h on the value of the variable FZ_MANUALUPDATECHECK

I have FileZilla installed at /Applications/Utilities and every time there is an update, it installes the app to ~/Documents folder. I believe that update should update the app and not to put the application to somewhere on the computer.

Sorry, but I've been reporting this for a couple of years. It happens with every version of FZ, including the latest (30.10.1.1)

Mainform.h only #includes <wx/timer.h> via updater.h which is inside a #if FZ_MANUALUPDATECHECK check. As of 3.10.2, build fails when that is false due to use of wxTimer and wxTimerEvent outside the guard. Simple patch to fix the build is attached.

I had just started using this nice quick connect when it went away. I saw that the right click had gone away due a change in Apple's Cocoa functionality, but the command-click alternative is also not working. Also the tool-tip still says that right click works fyi.

How about a drop down or icon in the quick connect bar to select an existing site from a list if you can't do it on tool-bars anymore?

As can be seen CDUP returns 200 while CWD returns 250.

This breaks i.e. the PHP function "ftp_cdup()" as it expects the 250 return code for successful operation.

I've also tested against vSFTPd, that Server returns 250 as expected.

I recently installed the FTP Client. After this I had an application called "super optimizer" installed and running without my authorization or having installed this application knowingly myself. I can only surmise that it came with the Filezilla installation. It blocked access to my desktop by displaying a dark grey window which could not be closed.
Removing the Super Optimizer was difficult because it infiltrated a lot in the Registry. I like to install the FTP Server as well but hesitate to do so with the above experience.
Are you aware of this Super Optimizer possibly being installed with FileZilla free downloads?

Just upgrade to new version; now i cannot log into server (previous version 2+ years old 3.6.02 and worked fine).

1) 2 days ago I tried to install FZ on the computer of a friend. This was a new installation.

Environment: Windows 8 + internet Explorer (IE) + Kapersky as antivirus I analyzed the exe installation file once downloaded with Kapersky, no issue reported. When I executed the file, it was hanging with an empty or black pop-up windows openening. I had to stop the computer and restart it

I think the file was around 700 ko ( the same size than the one mentioned by IE while confirming the download).

2) Today on my computer, where FZ is installed since a long time, and is runing as expected, I received an update and I see that FileZilla_3.10.2_win32-setup.exe is around 6064 Ko I got no issue while installing an using this new update.

Then I tried to download FileZilla from FZ site on my computer: Windows 7 + Chrome + Norton

Norton stopped the downloading sending messages as : "c90f.tmp (suspicious.Cloud9) deleted"

At the end no file is downloaded

the file c90f.tmp is loaded from ​http://cdn.qualitycontenthouse.com

Is the downloaded file corrupted? or is it a malware? I have no more access to the Windows 8 environment and hope to have not installed a malware on this computer which is not mine.

In both cases I started the download from: ​https://forum.filezilla-project.org/ and was redirected to sourceforge

When attempting to upload using FileZilla the server access does not list the directories. Unable to list directories is the error. At first I thought it was my problem then discovered after the update from my older version (3.9.0.5) is when the problem began. I rolled back to the 3.9.0.5 version and the app began to work correctly. I now ignore the prompt to update each time it loads. I have other clients that use FileZilla and I recommend to them not to update until further notice about this problem being solved.

On my Mac OS X (10.9.5) MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), when I unplug my external monitor the FileZilla window adapts to the new smaller built-in display by moving the entire window upward, leaving the title bar and upper panel offscreen. It remembers this new window position to that the title bar and upper panel remain offscreen even when I plug the large monitor back in, and worse, even when I quit and restart FileZilla. I cannot reach the window Zoom button, since the title bar is offscreen, and there is no Window menu from which to choose a Zoom command. On the built-in monitor, I haven't found any way out; the only solution I have found is to reattach the large monitor, go to Mission Control, and drag the FileZilla window to the smaller built-in monitor. After leaving Mission Control, FileZilla still spreads over the top edge of the built-in monitor, but the title bar is now visible on the large monitor and I can once again drag the app window and use the Zoom button. (My monitor arrangement is the 2560x1600 monitor above, with the menu bar, and the 1200x800 built-in display below left-aligned.) I can provide screen shots if needed.

As connection proceeds, it comes up with a "certificate expired" for the server. Whether or not this is 'OK'd' it then moves on, makes a complaint about non ascii characters and finally holds and times out at 'failed to read directory listing: Initializing TLS... Status: Verifying certificate... Status: TLS connection established. Status: Server does not support non-ASCII characters. (what non-ascii characters??) Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory listing..

(there may be some extra lines here but they don't wait around long enough to be copied)

I'm having trouble with filezilla, when I disconnect my second monitor, before I close filezilla.

After I disconnect the second monitor, I can't no longer access the bounder of the program so I can not resize the window. That let's me in an incapacity of acceding my configured connection. I can't no longer use filezilla.

Many times when I want to edit a remote file, all the download slots are already in use and the file cannot be edited before one of the downloads is complete. This means no new edits while transferring the backups.

Could we have an option for an extra transfer slot for Viewing/Editing? For example a checkbox at Settings > Transfers page > Concurrent transfers.

I have been experiencing an error lately when I attempt to drop files into folders that are intended to replace outdated files. Perhaps some context will help...

We operate an online storefront for Neighborhood Health Plan. They have thousands of products which are identified by product codes. For example, one item might be labeled "11020". Each product has a thumbnail and full sized image which we drop into a directory in Filezilla, which we pull from when "creating the product". Thumbnail images have a _2 suffix, with _1 for the full sized image.

Now, lets say they print a new version of 11020 with new graphics, new colors, etc.. In this case we would need to create and drop in new thumbnails. So I would Scale and crop the image, save as 11020_1 and 11020_2, and drop it into the appropriate directory. When I do this, I see a prompt asking me If I want to replace the existing files with these new ones. I click yes to replace, but the file never gets swapped out. I find that the only option I have is to change the suffix to _T and _F for the new file to be available.

There are several other ramifications for this replace file bug, but I figured this was the easiest way to describe it.

first i would like to thank the devs for this great product. I am using it for all of my FTP connections and it worked like a charm.

Now i am trying to setup my own FTP server with the latest available Filezilla FTP Server and i am currently facing an issue that my Filezilla client ( latest version ) is for whatever reason not falling back to try EPSV connection ( because PASV is not working).

My ISP provided me a IPv6 connection to the Internet with a static IPv6 adress. I already discovered that a IPv6 connection to my server is working like a charm, but not through IPv4. Because of this i bought a IPv4 ( not that expensive as i thought ) adress and do portmapping from my IPv4 adress to my IPv6 adress.

I tested the portmapping through my mobile by using a FTP client which is able to force EPSV through IPv4 and i got a successful connection.

If i try the same with my notebook ( connected to the internet through a IPv4 connection ) it fails, because of the error message:

500 You are connected using IPv6. PASV is only for IPv4. You have to use the EPSV command instead.

I also tried to test through ​https://ftptest.net/ and it fails at PASV command.

My request would be to make "force EPSV over IPv4" available as an option for a FTP connection.

On openSUSE we have quite strict wxWidgets and as a reasult I had to create patch with conversions around wxString char and wxChar, with the attached file the build again works and app seems fine.

I love FileZilla and have used this program for years. I've never had an issue until this latest batch of updates. The last version that works for me is 3.9.0.6. Anything after that installs and opens fine. However, when trying to connect to my saved website (as I always have in the past - changing nothing), I get the message that it is "Retrieving directory listing...". It sits there for almost 30 seconds, then quickly spools through a few commands and ends with the red "Error: Connection timed out" and "Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing". Nothing in the settings for the connection has been changed, yet every version after the one listed gives me this problem. I have resorted to downgrading to the last working build to be able to access my websites. What is happening and how can I fix it?

Alwasy when I am uploading something to my server it does not show in the right side box (remote site:). It only appears when I click "REFRESH" seems it is not automatic have to do it manually.

Even in the left side box (local site:) it is not refreshing automatically. i have to do it manually to show the update on the left side box.

Upon upgrading to version 3.10.2 I receive the following message upon connecting:

"Server sent passive reply with unroutable address. Using server address instead."

The application then proceeds to time out after 20 seconds with this message:

"Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity

Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing."

This is my second attempt to do an upgrade to 3.10.2 - with identical results. I am returning to my previous version (3.8.0) which works fine. I will ignore the update offer which automatically pops up when I open the application - a bit of a nuisance!

If the 1st character of a filename is a blank, FZ client (ver 3.10.2) does not display it. The download fails with "no such file or directory", see attached screen clip. First file is " Floral...."

ISP administrator had to fix filename (remove blank char), then downloaded OK.

After the last update of File Zilla, all of my UserName and Password information is no longer in FileZilla. It looks to have defaulted all of the file transfer information to blank. My three co-workers are also having the same issue for the files that they are trying to send.

After you reenter all of the information it seems to be saving now, but we now need to track down all of the information that is missing.

I have recently upgraded to the latest version of FileZilla Client and it seems that there is a bug when it comes to uploading images. Since I had upgraded to the latest version, all images I upload to my server has been detected as corrupt. It was fine before the upgrade.

I did a test and when I use the server web uploader, the images are being detected fine and I can use them. When uploading with Filezilla, the images turn out to be corrupt.

The installer creates a Utilties folder in the start menu. Utilties is spelled incorrectly - it should be Utilities.

After the latest updation of FileZilla client (3.10.2), all of my FTP Account Password information changed from normal open password mode to secure base64 password format and also connection mode changed to use explicit FTP over TLS if available. Due to this I am unable to connect the FTP Servers for file transfer processes.

After I re-enter all of the information it seems to be saving now, but we now need to track down all of the information that is missing.

Currently I don't have backup of the Site Manager Information before updation to latest version.

Sometimes I set up a big list of downloads. I then stop the process and wish to sort the list by file size so I can remove all the big files or all the small files. But although I can click the size column and I get a UI reaction to indicate a click happened the table does not sort.

With the latest version I have 3.10.2, now there is automatic scrolling of folders with drag and drop but if the window is not huge, it is almost impossible to actually select your target! It keeps scrolling away. I think this is from the fix for ticket #132. It did not use to scroll at all, which I understand is a problem, but now it scrolls too much. I use this everyday and think it is great, but now it is much more difficult. I've been writing code for over 20 years.

I was uploading to an FTP and wanted to change the simultaneous upload settings. Once I changed from 2 to 8 and pressed the "OK" button, FileZilla crashed. When I reopened, the setting had not been saved. I changed the setting when no transfer was happening and it saved successfully.

Since FileZilla 3.10.3-beta2 the status bar of the local file list always shows "Not connected". This does not change after connecting to a server.

Hi, I have Fz 3.10.3 version. When I upload a sub-folder to images folder, the Process Queue is working and the file transfer is completed, but the new sub-folder did not show in the images folder. My hosting server indicated that the uploaded file was present. I notified my hosting service (Inventory Source) to check on it. I do have another website hosted by Bluehost, and the FTP have the same problem. Please help to see why. Thank you. John.

In the older version the export xml file did provide the passwords of all the sites. Now with this new 3.10.3 is just shows as <PasvMode>MODE_DEFAULT</PasvMode>.What needs to happen so I can see the passwords

When downloading a file from filezilla client, the first char is cut off. This is a random event. Doesn't always happen.

Has work around: -Try to download continuously until file is complete.

Personal case: -Downloading XML files, where the first sequence of chars are <?xml and < gets cut off making the xml invalid. -Files are not larger than 2kb. -Win 8.1 Pro, Intel i3 4005U

Since updates from last few months FileZilla has been unable to connect to my web page

The Web page providers acknowledge that other FileZilla customers are experiencing the same problem and suggest I move to CuteFTP.
