I am attempted to upload my web files via Filezilla, and the upload stops at the same place every time (with 2929 files left in the queue), and then shortly after (about 90 seconds later) it gets disconnected from the server. For example: I have a file that I posted on 06/18/15 at 2:11 pm central time zone and it says it was posted at 9:11 AM

I use filezilla 3.11.0.2 to connect to two hosts in my university. I use putty too. Putty connects to both but filezilla can only connect to host 1 and when I want to connect to host 2, it automatically tries to connect host 1. Can you help me?

we are a web hosting company and we ve been having a lot of clients who are still using WWW when they try to reach a FTP conection and as a result they get a error conection. I dont know if this is a problem that is just happening with us because sometimes they think the problem is on our side.

So as a feature request we would like to know if there is a chance to add a validation or a pop-up window to alert the client that is using a wrong name server because of the WWW.

I am showing an incorrect time stamp on the remote server. The remote server shows the correct time as does my laptop. A report was processed at 6:30 pm which only takes a few moments to process and the time stamp shows a time of 2:30 pm.

although the host resolves, there is no such page, but this can be fixed by changing welcome2.filezilla... to welcome.filezilla...

The password has to the website has been changed several times & continues to create the same error.

It was working completely fine yesterday and I haven't done anything. Is it the host site I'm using that's the problem?

I found that Filezilla prompts me to reenter the password when I download a file. This seems only seems to occur when "Do Not Save Password" is checked, and I start Filezilla from the command line.

I searched for a corresponding bug report, but I couldn't find it.

Here is my procedure:

1. Open Filezilla and enable "Do Not Save Password" (Edit->Settings, Interface)
2. Close Filezilla
3. Open a connection to a host from the command line. The syntax I use is: %path-to-application% ​sftp://%username%:%password%@%server%:%port%
4. Right-click on a file on the target host, and select Download. The file is downloaded without a password prompt
5. Download the same file by dragging the file from the right window to the left. Filezilla promts the user for a password.

I am using Filezilla 3.12.0.2, on Windows 7 (build 7601, Service Pack 1), 64-bit edition

Filezilla server 0.9.48 beta was installed on Windows xp and Windows 7. Multiple users were defined. The server settings return to blank after a reboot inwin7 but are retained in windows xp. After every reboot all acounts have to be re-entered. Before reboot, the accounts are listed OK. After reboot, the accounts are all gone no groups users or folders are shown. Attempted to add system permissions to folders used by the filzilla xml file. Seems to be a sandbox situation, but unable to find any settings to mitigate. Migrate the settings file(s) location to users\$user$\appdata\filezilla in windows 7 and perhaps it will retain settings.

On starting the program, the "Check for Updates" dialog box appears asking to update to "3.12.0.2" I click "Install new version" and click yes on the Windows User Account Control dialog to allow the program to install.

The updates install, the program restarts and the "Check for Updates" dialog box does not appear. The version listed is 3.12.0.2 in the About section. The check for updates menu item gives me the dialog box "You are using the latest version of FileZilla."

I select File->Exit to exit. I restart the program and the "Check for Updates" dialog box appears asking to update to "3.12.0.2". I close the dialog and check the about section.

The version is now listed as "3.11.0" and choosing to install the new version restarts the process.

Other information: I have tried manually uninstalling, restarting the computer, downloading a new copy and reinstalling the software with the same result. When opening the program the version listed does not advance past "3.11.0"

I have noticed that the updates will accumulate in the dialog box until I click "Install new version" but after the updates install and I close the program, reopening it will show only the most recent update as still available in the "Check for Updates" dialog.

I did install FileZilla Server 0_9_51 at one point on the same computer but it has since been uninstalled.

When I select a folder in the directory tree and then delete this folder, FileZilla tries to re-list the contents of this folder. This, of course, fails since the folder has been deleted. Previous versions of FileZilla listed the contents of the parent folder in that situation. (I first select the folder to find out if it is empty)

This has also happened on earlier versions.

Filezilla gives the message "Failed to retrieve directory listing" during connect. I can get around this by accessing my Cable Modem's Administrator function and changing my Firewall setting to "Minimum". I have to keep it at this level during the entire FileZilla session, through and including Disconnect.

Naturally, I do not appreciate having to leave myself vulnerable, even for a relatively short window. I'd prefer to keep the higher level set at all times.

This is the only web-site to which I connect.

I do not know if this is a function of FileZilla in general, of my site in particular, or of my Site Manager configuration.

As to the latter, I do not have a Port specified. I don't know if the ":21..." refers to the default port, or what the ",197,52" or "197,46" means.

I would like to know if: (a) Specifying a particular Port number will clear up this problem. (And, if so, what port number?) (b) This is a "Bug" or a Feature", and (c) If the former, can it be fixed?

I've been frustrated for a while that I can't run Filezilla Client from the "Run..." without a full path.

Apparently this is achieved with entries in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths

This would be an installer update, I presume.

When you have at least 2 tabs, there is a little cross on the right side of the tab, presumably to close the tab. But when you click on it, it doesn't work. The tab can be right clicked to be closed.

Steps to reproduce : Open two tabs Click the cross to close a tab Expected : the tab closes Bug : nothing happens.

This bug is present in Filezilla client version 3.12.0.2 on GNU/Linux plateform (Archlinux). I can't reproduce it on Mac OS X.

This bug was first reported two years ago (​https://trac.filezilla-project.org/ticket/8889) with Awesome WM, now I'm using BSPWM, and the bug is still here.

I have switched to Windows 10, now I can not drag & drop between the remote directory to local directory for folders and files.

There is no error and no warning, nothing appens.

The only way to download a folder is to right clic on it and download. I have tried with 3.12.0.2, 3.13.0-RC1 and the nightly 2015-08-08.

Within the site manager, cmd+v triggers the bookmarks shortcut (cmd+b) instead of pasting.

I opened the Sites Manager.

The window is ridiculously tall, as you can see from the screenshot. It even exceeds the height of the screen, though fortunately the buttons are accessible (but what if my screen had been smaller?!?)

What is much worse, the window CANNOT BE RESIZED.

I tried to resize in the standard way as you do in Ubuntu. The resizing cursor does appear when you hover the mouse over the upper borders or corners of the window (the lower ones are outside the screen; note that if you were on mac you could only resize the window from the bottom), but clicking and dragging doesn't resize the window as expected.

This issue has appeared after I upgraded from Ubuntu 14.04 to 15.04 (through 14.10). So this is a regression somewhere between whatever version was distributed with 14.04 and whatever version is distributed with 3.9.0.5

I am able to login to a lot of servers with FZ later the version 3.9.0.6, but one server refuses access. I have tried all versions but it is only that old version that is able to login to that server. I do not own the server. Log files attached.

I am managing a joomla website.

A Template *.js file needed to be edited.

I selected the file, right clicked, selected "View/Edit".

Instead of editing the file it was downloaded and then Run.

Windows 10. Filezilla 3.13.0.

(I then downloaded the file and could edit it OK with a right click and edit using Windows 10 File Explorer)

Could FileZilla please support these fingerprints as well?

Build error on Ubuntu with below line:

fzputtygen_interface.h does not exist in source tarball while fzputtygen_interface.cpp file contains line: #include "fzputtygen_interface.h"

When I open FileZilla, I am prompted to install version 3.13.0. I install it. But each time I launch Filezilla for a new use, I'm prompted to install the version I have already installed.

As of version 3.13.0 connecting to certain SFTP servers causes fzsftp.exe to crash. All previous versions of FileZilla used to work like a charm with the same servers.

Openstack's Swift storage is commonly being used for object storage at many large companies including Amazon S3, Rackspace Cloud Files, Softlayer's cloud storage, etc.

Is there anywhere on the roadmap for Swift support to be added?

Currently a viable, cross-platform, and easy to use option for Swift storage.

The file src/interface/fzputtygen_interface.h is missing from the tar file FileZilla_3.13.0_src.tar.bz2 found in the "Client Download" page.

When I download a directory that contains 2 levels of sub directories, the 2nd level directories are not created. In addition, I get the attached error message saying, in effect, I couldn't create the directory but I was successful in creating the directory!?

i have a user who - via remote ftp connection - can't view .xlsx files. No such problem with .docx or any other office files. When selecting "view file" excel launches but doesn't load the file (remains blank). This situation doesn't arise when opening locally - Excel displays files normally.

Today we tried to open our FileZilla v3.13.0 from the desk top of windows 10 but it would not open the app, but windows did place the app in the registry as if it was loaded into memory. So we deleted the version 3.13.0 and installed version 3.13.1 but the same results occurred. FileZilla still would not open the Icon from the windows 10 desktop. It was not until we went to reinstall v3.13.1 did the application open after the reinstall finished. But still after closing the app and trying to open it again from the desktop Icon FileZilla still would not open.

When I open a site that has a certificate problem, the Unknown certificate window pops up. But the "Always trust certificate in future sessions" checkbox is not enabled so the next time I open FileZilla, I have to verify the site again. This only started happening in 3.13.1

The site I am trying to access is ktlcanada.com Other sites seem to not do this.

I've been using FileZilla very happily for quite some time but since I've run the update today I can no longer connect to one of my servers. When I first tried to it came up with a warning message for me to check over server information (screenshot attached) which I said 'ok' to, then when I've gone to connect via site manager it just hangs, saying the site name at the top of FileZilla but "Not connected to any server" in the right hand pane. A colleague who's not run the update yet is still able to connect fine so I don't think it's an issue with our server.

Multiple attempts to connect over 24 hours have all failed. The account is not new and the host, username, and password are all unchanged. Updated the version to 3.13.1 in an attempt to resolve the issue. Initial attempts to log in to FZ website for help were unsuccessful. Re-registered with exact same information in order to log in. Since I updated to the latest version (3.13.1), I could no longer connect to one of my FTP servers using sftp. There were no changes on the server side, and nothing out of the blue seems to happening.

This issue was also in the 3.13 version, though I did not report the bug at the time. The last working version that was able to connect to the server is 3.12.0.2.

When adding a dirtree to the download queue, filezilla does not honor the alpha order of the file names when I believe that it should or at least offer an option to do so.

One can reproduce this very easily: On the server from which to download, do:

mkdir test cd test for i in 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9; do touch $i; done

Now connect to the server with filezilla and drag the "test" folder into the download queue and begin downloading. The order is not: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

For me, the order was: 6 1 2 4 8 5 3 9 7

The dialog is very tall. In Debian GNOME, with top bar and window list there is not enough room to show the whole dialog, so i can't see the close button at the bottom.

Screen is 1366x768.

With window list disabled i can see part of the close button, but still not the whole dialog.

On Linux (issue does not affect Windows), attempting to drag a file from the local to remote pane does not work if the filename has a percent symbol ("%").

For example, if you attempt to drag a file named test%20test.txt from local to remote, nothing happens -- no message is appended to the message log; no item is added to the transfer queue.

This issue is especially problematic when the user highlights and drag-and-drops multiple files, as they may not notice that not all of the files they selected get queued.

If the user instead right-clicks on test%20test.txt and selects "Upload", the file is uploaded normally.

I have been using Filezilla for years with the old BGan sat modem - now with the new iSavi modem I cannot get it to work. It seems to bungle the IP address needed. I get the following text when I run the Filezilla debug:

Thanks for creating a great software. If you can upgrade the UI to match Flat Form Design format that would be great. What I mean is to change the icons with nice Flat design and software interface with less shadows and gradients it could be awesome.

Also if it is possible to detach the progress panel from main window it could be useful for long queue and manage them to delete particluar item from queue.

When connecting to a ftp server that has some sort of certificate issue you are presented with an Unknown Certificate dialog box that displays a malformed Subject of certificate section with all the contained text stacked on top of one another.

When destination drive is invalid (missing network drive, maybe also when disk is full), a GET operation still start, and even hammer the FTP server (3 failed attempts in a row).

With a full transfer queue, it provokes a high number of failed transfers (0 bytes), and some servers then report an abnormal number of logs per second.

Obviously, FileZilla do NOT check destination's suitability before starting the transfer. It should check if there is enough space on disk and drive's availability.

HOW TO REPRODUCE:

• Connect to a FTP server with a lot of files.
• Connect a network drive.
• Go to this drive in FileZilla.
• Enqueue a lot of files.
• Disconnect network drive: FILEZILLA DO NOT SEE THIS OPERATION.
• Launch queue: everything fail, server is hammered.
• Same thing may apply with a full disk (don't have stuff to test it however).

Attached files: In attached log, I've disconnected my "T:\" network drive, which is therefore missing in navigation panel BUT still shown in "Local site" bar. See attached picture.

newer file not uploading to remote directory if file size is smaller and time difference less than 1 min.

client is ubuntu 15.04 server is ubuntu 14.04.3 using SFTP protocol settings->file exists action->overwrite file if source is newer.

steps to recreate; 1.modify file a by 4 bytes/characters. 2.upload change to the server...this works. 3.modify file, removing 4 byte changes..file is now smaller...and newer by less than 1 min. 4 upload file to server....file is skipped....:(...failed to upload.

Not sure why the newer file was skipped unless program is only comparing hh:mm of each file and not hh:mm:ss ...but this is only speculation.

The time stamp indicated on the server side shows a 4 hour time difference. Settings are set to use system default time.

Filezilla has been compiling fine until recently. About two or three updates ago the Ubuntu compiles started to fail on the Latest SVN download 3.14.0 #7097 Error:

checking for LIBFILEZILLA... no configure: error: libfilezilla not found. make: * No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop. bash: ./filezilla: No such file or directory

GCC version: gcc (Ubuntu 4.9.2-0ubuntu1~14.04) 4.9.2

I also tried on Ubuntu 15.04 with a newer GCC and got the same problem. Do you guys compile for Ubuntu?

When I exit from FileZilla client I get a confirmation popup. Its size is not show aright. I tested on another computer, the result is same.

After upgrading FileZilla client from 3.10.3 to 3.14.1, the following error message will be displayed every time I connect to our ftp server through a proxy server using a proxy client in windows 7 or 8.1. In fact, everything was working fine in 3.10.x using the same proxy client and windows os. Seems there was big code change after version 3.11.x. I know FileZilla client built-in proxy function, and it is working fine too. However, our proxy client is more flexible and controllable. Is it possible to re-implement this function in 3.14.x? I have just discovered that the date & time formating does not follow the system default.

On my French computer (but Filezilla in English) I should see d/m/y for the date and h:m in 24 format for the time but the format remains in US even if the "use system default" is choosen.

I tried to untick/restart/tick "use system default" but the problem remains.

But if I choose to use a custom format it's working.

My problem is the following. My Filezilla version is 3.14.1. Upon signing into connection I cant upload my files (transferring local files) to a personal.kent.edu server. Downloading works fine. Here is uploading session outcome response by the server:

In sitemanager.xml if the FileZilla3 element has not the version attribute and in FileZilla the site manager gets opened I'm getting the assertion "buildinfo.cpp(118): assert "*version >= '0' && *version <= '9'" failed in ConvertToVersionNumber().".

When adding new FTP servers to the Site Manager currently it's a nightmare using keyboard shortcuts because I keep on using again and again the Standard Cmd+C to copy and Cmd+A to select all text in a textfield, and they don't work like that in the Site Manager window so they drive me crazy!

Instead, pressing Cmd+A closes the window! It doesn't make sense. And pressing Cmd+C creates a new folder! Why?! Cmd+C should just copy text inside a textfield!! Al least Cmd+V works as it should (it actually pastes text).

Please, stick with the standard key combinations. When I have to add a large amount of FTP servers to FileZilla it's really annoying not being able to use standard system-wide key combinations such as Copy (Cmd+C) and Select All (Cmd+A). I keep accidentally closing the window all the time because I'm trying to select all the text in a textfield with Cmd+A.

I am using Filezilla 3.14.1 x64 on Windows connects to my FTP server running vsftpd 3.0.2 with implicit FTPS.

The connection works totally fine over IPv4, but when connecting via IPv6, Filezilla will stuck at the LIST command until timeout, while the server log does not prompt anything wrong. I switched to FlashFXP and tested with IPv6 connection and it works fine. I guess it's a bug in Filezilla.

При загрузке файлов содержащие изображения с операционной системы windows 7 на хостинг используюя ftp FileZilla Client, изображения загружаются битыми(плохими)файлами. Изменения кодировки не дает нужных результатов.

Но если использовать программу Тотал командер на системе windows xp, файлы загружаются без ошибок, целостность не изменяется.

Попробую прикрепить набор скриншотов к этому сообщению. В нем более подробно изображена проблемма с загружаемыми файлами.

The icons for upload/download in the right-click menu are broken sometimes, see screenshot. Using FZ on mac/el capitan in dutch language.

I installed FileZilla client 3.14.1 on my Windows 10 pc but it won't open. Task manager says it's running.

Blackboard is a very useful layout but when I open more than one tab, the areas in the new tabs doesn´t open with the same widths than the first ones did, they new tabs open the thirth area (files in server) very slim.

There is an issue with the icons navigation bar in Mac OS X El Capitan version of FileZilla. Either they disappear or look funny depending what you are doing.

So it becomes impossible to use FileZilla in all it's potencial.

A python 2.7 client was able to connect and upload files to my filezilla server 0.9.44 using the following:

In the current version of the FileZilla Client I use, remote file search does no longer yield any results. The files I am looking for, do exist in the remote location, and the total number of remote files is e.g. around 1035 - excluding entries in subdircetories. Remote file search used to work without problems in the previous FileZilla versions I used - thus I believe this is a true bug.

Anytime I configure some of the FileZilla Servers (Version 0.9.53 beta) to the strict IP-filter, the FileZilla Server does not recognize the IP-address of the Client Computer as valid. It seems, the Server does not check the ip address correctly, as the computers have static IPV4 addresses from the Internet. I've already checked if the Server works correctly when it is an exposed host (all ports in all protocols are open to new Connections from the Internet). The error remained as is. Is there something wrong with my configuration (I've been using Filezilla FTP Server for Business and private purposes for years now).

If you add a SSH key file via the Site Manager or the Settings (Connection -> SFTP) and its path contains an umlaut, FileZilla fails to connect to the website:

Error: Authentication failed.
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

The logging path is not validated on startup.

If the logging directory is missing, filezilla will start with no errors, but connections will hang and fail with no errors, filezilla has to be killed.

On some files when uploading when reaching the end of the file the green box says 100%%

Upon loss of focus during transfers and regain of focus, the file transfer stats are WILDLY wrong. I only have a 30 megabit LTE link but the transfers are claiming something like 90MB/sec (see attached image).

I suggest you should add some sort of highlighting, indicating that a "Filename filters"/"Directory listing filters" are used in the view.

For instance the frame around the remote directory listing could have a red/orange colored line in the frame or a slightly modified background with large grey text saying that a filter is used, or just a striped background.

I forgot that I had a filter and started to investigate why I couldn't find the files on the remote server, then I realized I had applied a filter matching that file I was looking for. :-)

I also assume there might be other scenarios where applied settings might be good to highlight in the UI.

After upgrading FileZilla from version 3.12.0.2 to version 3.14.1 I'm noticing that sitemanager.xml gets malformed a bit:

• Within a <Server></Server> entry at the end the text that is in <Name></Name> gets appended.
• </Server> gets not indented correctly.

The configuration files (like ~/.filezilla/filezilla.xml) are not linked against a DTD. Maybe they could be linked against one to make it possible to validate the configuration files.

I found this on my log, repeated 5020 times (2 lines, so it's 2505 commands):

Since I migrated to windows 10 on my desktop, I've been able to get on the server via ftp, but I can't drill down into the sub-folders. Nothing happens when I double click on the sub-folders to open them. I don't have this problem when I use filezilla on my macbook pro laptop.

Version 3.5.3 was fine. Upgrade to 3.14.1 throws Error: The data connection could not be established: ENETUNREACH - Network unreachable.
