Description
Openstack's Swift storage is commonly being used for object storage at many large companies including Amazon S3, Rackspace Cloud Files, Softlayer's cloud storage, etc.
Is there anywhere on the roadmap for Swift support to be added?
Currently a viable, cross-platform, and easy to use option for Swift storage.

Are there any official specifications ratified by one of the recognized standards bodies, ie. IETF, W3C, IEEE or ISO?

It currently is not and likely never will be due to this not being a network protocol.
Object storage is a beast of it's own due to not operating like a true file system so an API wrapper is required. Basically none of the previous standards interact directly.

This does not truly fit the bill of what has previously been done with filezilla but would be a strong addition to the platform in the future. Right now you have paid options and a few free sub-par clients such as Cyberduck.

"Currently a viable, cross-platform, and easy to use option for Swift storage does not exist"
