I have returned to work after the Christmas break and tried to connect to my pre-saved credentials in FileZilla only to be consistently met with the errors of "Connection Timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity" and "Could not connect to the server". The port number being used is 22, and the credentials used are correct in terms of Protocol, Host, Username and Password. I have also updated to the latest version of the FileZilla software.

I've purchased FileZilla Pro 3.62.0 which claims to have mime type mapping ​https://filezillapro.com/docs/v3/advanced/mime-type-mapping/ The target is an SFTP location hosted by an Azure Storage Account = StorageV2 (general purpose v2) with SFTP functionality enabled

I can see that mime type for HTML file is already configured in screenshot attached, however after uploading an HTML file to destination, its file type is being set to "application/octet-stream"

As per the mime-type mapping it should have been set to "text/html"

Change language to 'Chinese Simplified (zh_CN)', and then relaunch FileZilla Client, will show an error and then rollback to default language.

I'm running MacOS Monterey 12.6.3 with 6 displays on Mac Studio and the same OS version running on a Macbook Air M2 with only built-in display.

Starting with version 3.62.0 of the client app, as soon as you open it it goes to fullscreen mode and there is no way to get it out of fullscreen mode. The menu bar is also hidden and only becomes visible when one moves mouse cursor to the top of the screen.

When filezilla is open I can hit F3(mission control) and it clear shows that there are 2 separate spaces open: Desktop and Filezilla. The app is unusable right now for drag/drop operations from other apps.

I've tested all versions from 3.62.0 to 3.63.1 and the issue persists on both the Version 3.61.0 and earlier work without issue. I see there is a forum thread about this so I'm not the only person seeing this issue.

In the dark mode of FileZilla on MacBook, the color and text color is very hard to read in this combination.

The colors should be changed for the dark mode in FileZilla for macOS. On the screenshot, it looks like it's easy to read but in reality, when you're sitting in front of your laptop, it's not!

The X icon (close tab) in any given tab is HUGE. It used to be tiny, but now it's nearly as tall as the tab itself.

It seems to have happened within the last few stable versions, though I don't know exactly which one. I first noticed it in January 2023 and thought it would be fixed in a later update, but it hasn't changed.

In Settings, I have tried adjusting the theme and theme scaling, but that didn't affect this icon. I've also tried different interface layouts and gone through every setting I can find, but no dice.

Steps to reproduce: Open multiple connection tabs, look at X icon on tabs.

After connecting to a site from a bookmark let's say my local site pane has:

And remote site pane has:

/opt/webroot/

It happens 100% of the times to me that if I right click the "directory listing filters" icon in the toolbar to enable the filters, the local site pane changes to something different, such as:

If Notepad is uninstalled, FileZilla fails to save settings as formats may become messed up and displays this error.

"FAILED TO VALIDATE SETTINGS"

Associated program not found: C:\Windows\System32\notepad.exe

If you remove the first few lines, it will display errors as for some reason, format is incorrect in many of those filetypes (never touched this window)

Solving is easy as you just remove misspelled settings and add quotes, but it's weird that FileZilla even created such associations in the first place.

File sizes on remove directory listing are off by 10^-1.

Only files over 100MB are affected.

Example, file on local dir listing is 100MB. File is transferred successfully. File size on remote listing is 10MB

I just updated my FileZilla client for the first time in a while (via the prompt on startup), and after that it started giving me an error message every time it started or closed the program. The error on starting was:

Additional information:

• The program is installed to a different drive than the folder it is trying to write to. It is located at "E:\Program Files\FileZilla FTP Client" and the folder it is trying to write to is on the C drive (listed above). Not sure if this is relevant or not, but you said to be verbose.

• The file did exist in the location the program was looking, and the previous version of the client could read and write to it just fine.

• The error messages stopped showing up when I deleted queue.sqlite3 and let the program regenerate the file, although I have kept the old queue.sqlite3 just in case. This means that the issue is solved for me, but I figured you might still want to know that this file isn't always compatible if you forget to update for a while and then go up by a couple versions at once.

Issue-This version of Filezilla is not handling illegal characters correctly. Previous versions have not had this specific trouble to replace illegal characters from the server while transferring to a Windows system.

The attached screenshot shows 3 files that failed transfer from server to Windows directory due to the illegal Windows character colon (:) present in the 3 files. The first transfer initiated using the filezilla preference of Automatic for FTP File Types resulted in the 3 files failing.

When I changed the Filezilla preference to Binary for FTP File Types and retried the folder download, the same 3 files failed.

This is not correct behavior and is also strange because in the Filezilla queue area the illegal character colon has been replaced with underscore. You can confirm that the illegal character exists on the server by reviewing the 2 highlighted files on the server side of Filezilla remote window.

Note: When I initially tried to download multiple directories that contained illegal characters, filezilla basically crashed (no further input or output from filezilla window). Filezilla needed to be closed completely and restarted in order to resume normal operations.

By trial and error I was able to figure out that the illegal characters in the directories was what Filezilla took issue with. I decided to download the files individually from the server to see if it could complete successfully and they did. (See the 3 files outside of the directories in the screenshot). So, Filezilla can transfer files with illegal characters correctly individually, but from within a directory queue Filezilla is failing to transfer correctly.

I also confirmed that the files could be downloaded successfully with the illegal characters replaced by installing WinSCP and queuing the 5 directories I tried with Filezilla. All directories were successfully downloaded using the Automatic File Type preference and the illegal colon (:) characters were replaced with %3A.

Since last week, one of my customer cannot connect to FileZilla server. Keep in mind that it was working before. One of her colleague is able to connect to the server on the same network and I can connect with her account on another network. In the window, it says:

What cause this issue?

I have uploaded a bunch of files to a server, with unicode characters in the file names.

I'll attach a screenshot of how such characters look like in fileziulla in the server panel.

For comparison, I'll attach a screenshot of a terminal where I'm connected via SSH to the very same server and I've run a "ls" command: you can see the unicode characters properly rendered in the output.

My problem is exactly as described in Bug Report 12199, but I could not find an answer to it. When connecting to the server the certificate shows that it is not trusted and the buttons to override that and force trust are greyed out. If I use OK and move on it does connect. I have had my ISP check that the certificate is correct, and it is. Sadly it cost me a lot of money to do that. See attachments. I am using the latest Filezilla (it automatically updates, so that is always the case). This happens on both my machines which are Windows 10 Pro 22H2 and Windows 10 Home 21H2.

When downloading a file from an IBM Z/OS mainframe to a PC using the Mac client (3.63.2) if the file contains a Carrot, which is 0xB0 in EBCDIC and 0x5E in ASCII, the character does not get converted resulting in a non-printable 0xB0 on the Mac file. This can create issues with other programs trying to process the file. Is it possible to update the ASCII translations to properly handle this character?

02 May - please see attached file. FileZilla is not working on my machine & IT and cybersecurity have exhausted all options.

I downloaded FileZilla Pro earlier this week and had NO issues with it until yesterday. I kept getting the "421 Proxy is closed" error. I upgraded to the newest version of FileZilla yesterday, checked all my network connections, etc. and roped in IT--they couldn't find any issues and were already allowing the app. I've run every diagnostic and nothing is working. Like I mentioned before, I don't have an IT background & have tried just about everything. Any suggestions? Below is the message log...

When start drag from my PC and the cursor fall over (not drop) the tree of remote server the software give the error "Drag & drop failed"

Steps to reproduce

1. Upload a large file (I tried a 1 TiB file) to a proftpd server with "slow" disks using default settings in active mode.
2. Once all disk caches on the server are filled (which happened always somewhere around 12 GiB) and the server has to sync the data to disk, it'll set the TCP Window Size to 0 while the data is written and synced.
3. After that, it'll increase the window size again to continue the transfer.

Expected behavior

FileZilla should consider this an active connection (as long as the tcp window size probes are still ACked ofc), report a 0 byte/s current transfer speed, and continue normally once the window size has been increased again.

Current behavior

FileZilla terminates the file transfer with the reason "connection timed out", probably because of oversight within the timeout logic. It probably only checks for 0 bytes/s transferred instead of also checking if the TCP connection is still alive and only set to a window size of 0. Funnily FileZilla tries to restart the connection but then fails because the temporary ".in.*" file still exists (A 2nd bug, or do we hit some kind of edge case here?) Also noteworthy, the retry setting was set to 5, but FileZilla did only one automatic retry and then failed the transfer. Also, the 10-second delay between retries was not honored here, as the retry happened instantly after the reset was sent to the server. And also noteworthy is that FileZilla will delete the partial upload from the server once it failed the transfer...

Workaround

Go into the options and set the timeout to 0.

But this has still undesirable side effects like no timeouts are detected anymore and the transfer will therefore get stuck completely once an actual timeout happens.

(Admittedly, another workaround is to set the delay kinda high to 5 minutes or so, but even though it would work for this connection, it'll unnecessarily slow down other transfers to different servers and also not correctly detect the connection state. It'd only work if the server manages to sync and accept data again within 5 minutes.)

Proposed fix

1st Add a TCP connection state check into the timeout detection logic (not a timeout if still packages are exchanged, see screenshot for example connection) 2nd And (maybe) add an additional option within the connection timeout section for backward compatibility like "☑️ treat a Zero TCP Window Size as timed out" with a default value of being unchecked (Enabling this option will result in the current behavior again). 3rd (purely visual), fix the connection speed that is shown in the UI, currently it never shows 0, not even if "Display momentary transfer speed instead of average speed" is enabled. 4th If the reconnect logic triggers a reset of an active file transfer, it should expect the temporary ".in.*" file already be present and automatically resume it instead of failing the transfer because it already exists. (My default file exists action is set to "Ask for action" btw, but it also didn't ask, it just failed the (unnecessarily triggered) retry) 5th honor the reconnect settings also for automatic reconnects (amount and delay in-between).

Suddenly cannot upload newly created files from my local directory to remote directory. If it is an old file/already on the remote side it has no problem uploading and rewrites it again. Regardless of file extension.

File cannot be uploaded to Onedrive.

The reason for cancellation is "Could not start transfer".

My ondrive capacity is 500gb left, so it's not a capacity issue.

I regularly package Filezilla for XtraDeb.net. Filezilla version 3.64.0 built fine on Ubuntu 22.04 but version 3.65.0 is breaking with the following error:

configure: error: Boost Regex 1.76 or higher not found.

You can find attached the full build log.

I'm also able to build fine on Ubuntu 23.04 (lunar) after adding libboost1.81-dev. Unfortunately, this package does not exist on Ubuntu 22.04. It only has libboost1.74-dev.

I think the error might be related to revision 10985. Would it be possible to patch back Filezilla 3.65.0?

I have my version to not to check for updates, and yet everytime I start up FileZilla it tells me there is an update available.

I'm running FileZilla 3.62.2

We run it on computers that need admin access to update and so it's just an extra step each day to remove the pop up prompt.

Filezilla crashes when you go to Settings -> Transfers -> FTP: File Types -> Treat the following filetypes as ASCII files. And then remove all the filetypes except one from the list, and then click the last filetype.

Settings checkbox for "Display momentary transfer speed..." indicates opposite of its value.

In Settings, under Interface, in the box headed "Transfer Queue," the checkbox for "Display momentary transfer speed instead of average speed" actually toggles the opposite of what it states (ie, it shows momentary speed when unchecked, and average speed when it is checked).

This is a legacy bug that has been around for quite some time. This bug does not affect functionality, so marked as low priority.

When I try to set an Active mode IP address, I get an error message saying "Associated program not found".

When I check Filetype associations, I see the following:

We are using minio cluster and activated ftp feature. Then we tried to connect with filezilla on a windows machine. It is connecting successfully, and listing buckets fine. But when we tried to get in a bucket, we can't see folders.

PS: When we use MacoS everything is fine. On windows , when we try winscp, it is listing successfully. Only filezilla can't.

I am trying to launch the FileZilla Client and keep receiving the error message below. It has been updated to the latest version and we are still unable to connect.

Error: Could not connect to server Status: Waiting to retry... Status: Resolving address of ftp.cognitionlms.com Status: Connecting to 23.253.25.67:21... Status: Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server". Error: Could not connect to server

Filezilla client v3.64.0 under Windows asks me to update almost every time I launch it, because there's a new version available, but: 1) Check for FileZilla updates automatically is set at "NEVER". 2) It doesn't even know what the new version is and only shows "Unfortunately information about the new update could not be retrieved." If an user chooses to not automatically check for updates, why is Filezilla spamming them with a new update dialog that doesn't even contain any useful information to begin with?

Steps to reproduce:

• Run FileZilla
• Connect to an FTP server
• Upload anything (now systray icon appears)
• Exit FileZilla

Ooops... icon in systray stil exists and disappears only after hovering mouse over it. Taskmon shows that FileZilla already unloaded and not running.

It starts after upgrading to 3.65.0 (from 3.64.x I suppose) and still exists on 3.66.1.

I keep receiving the 403 forbidden error

I updated FZ to 3.66.1 and when I try connect (sftp ssh protocol) I receive the same error message:

I have tried from another PC and have the same problem after update. I did not have this problem with the previous version of the client.

This morning I noticed that my private key authentication, which used to work seamlessly, is now frequently timing out. When it doesn't time out, it's taking a very long time to successfully process actions such as directory changes or file updates. My initial thought is that this might be related to the notification in my FileZilla that a new version is available. However, there doesn't appear to be a valid version available for my operating system.

I already tried making new connections to my web server. When that didn't help, I quit and restarted FileZilla, which also didn't help.

When using the file comparison feature, files are marked lightgreen when they in fact are not the same size and/or have different dates and times. Happens on different webhosters in different transfer modes SFTP, FTP and FTP/TLS. I realized this a few months ago, but thought the failure would be fixed shortly. Seems not.

FileZilla seems to check for updates even if I set the option to "Never" and it pops up "New version available" window at startup which is very annoying when you launch FZ to do something urgently.

When navigating the main window of the client with tab and shift+tab, navigation seems to get stuck in the log. In other words, when keyboard focus is on the log, nothing happens when I press tab or shift+tab. I review the log often and I use a screen reader, so being able to use this kind of navigation is critical, and many screen reader users don't use a mouse at all. I discovered it is still possible to use the F6 key to move away from the log, which is a good workaround but not one that will be obvious to many. I do not know if this occurs on non-Windows operating systems but I did verify it on two Windows 10 machines. Marking high priority because even if it affects a small number of people, not being able to exit the log is arguably a blocker to being able to successfully use the client, and on the development side it seems like a small regression.

Original issue was that I had FileZilla displaying on 2nd monitor attached to my notebook. Thereafter, without 2nd monitor attached, FileZilla displayed at the extreme right edge of the screen and I was unable to drag it over.

This is the kind of situation a clean reinstall should resolve, but after uninstall, reboot, and reinstall, the problem persisted. I had to go through Windows registry and delete every FileZilla key I could find to resolve the issue.

Then it displayed correctly upon reinstall, but another problem appeared, as reported in bug #13048 "new Bug report". I was getting "error loading the transfer queue from "C:\User\patri\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla\queue.sqlite3".

This required uninstalling again, then deleting the FileZilla folder at C:\Users\userAppData\Roaming\.

After another uninstall, reboot, reinstall, finally everything working well.

Hello, I downloaded and installed the latest Windows 64-bit FileZilla v3.66.5 yesterday and have discovered the filezilla.exe executable contains no version information as existed in the previous versions Without this version information it is not possible to detect the correct version has been installed with automated deployment tools (such as SCCM or Intune) FileZilla.exe v3.66.5 properties will be attached as an image once the ticket has been created

Just downloaded FileZilla Client to my new computer and I'm seeing an issue I've never had before. In the "View" tab I have Tool bar and Quickconnect bar checked but they are not showing on my screen, so I have no way to connect to any servers. My computer and FileZilla are both totally up to date and I've played around with other settings. I've also looked through the forums and can't seem to find anything related to this. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Updates that show up even when "Never" is set in the drop down box. I do not need to be reminded for something that I do not need.

In relation to ticket 13070 being closed without resolution, I think it is time to say good-bye to filezilla.

I am on the paid MacOS client from the App Store.

FZ has worked perfectly for years, but broke after my upgrade to Sonoma 14.4. (I understand that this is a buggy release from Apple.)

As the attached image shows, neither file pane populates.

Both MacOS and FZ have been updated as of March 22 2024.

When logged into a netware server it is possible to also access other servers in the same tree. This is done with the command CD servername/volumename/directoryname/ etc. etc.

Filezilla removes the first / and sends /servername/volumename/directoryname/ which of course fails. Some way to override the default behaviour so that the other servers can be accessed is required.

The menu option "View / Edit" should use the windows explorer default editor if "File viewing / editing" doesn't have a program manually configured to view/edit the file...

Using FileZilla 2.1.4b, I can FTP files to Xbox normallyat a high speed, like several Mbps. Upgrading to FileZilla 2.1.5 and higher (I tried the latest 2.1.8b) the FTP uploads slow down to around 20-70K/sec. FTP downloads to PC are fast and it is just the uploads that are slow in later versions.

I am using EvolutionX and XBMP 2.4 as FTP server.

When the LIST command is responded to by an FTP server (as the result of getting the list of files in a directory), certian date formats are not parsed correctly:

Example:

-rw-rw-rw- 1 noone nogroup 142 jun 01 1999

abort.txt

is parsed correctly, but

-rw-rw-rw- 1 noone nogroup 142 01-jun-99 abort.txt

is not parsed correctly.

The end result is the file name is listed in the GUI as:

"-rw-rw-rw- 1 noone nogroup 142 01-jun-99

abort.txt"

which make file tranfer impossible.

May I respectfully submit a possible bug?

Although you can navigate to a (Windows)
server\share location, when you transfewr from the remote server to the local destination the files are saved in the local drive. It is asthough
Boston\Share becomes c:\Boston\Share

I installed 2.2.9 over 2.2.8 and so deleted/uninstalled everything and tried again. No joy.

I'm not very sure but I think that this has worked fine in the past.

When you uninstall FileZilla, a dialog is displayed that says: "Delete all Registry keys...(including Site Mannager..."

The capability to upload a modified file appears only to work for the default program to edit/view files. For example, I have my text editor as the default program. If I modify a .txt/.log/.ini file on the server, when I save and close it asks if I want to upload the modified file to the server. I also have an association for .xls files to excel. I am not prompted for the automatic upload if I change one of these files.

If, however, I set Excel to be my default program and set up the .txt/.log/.ini files as non-default associations, the behavior is reversed. Excel files will prompt me for automatic upload when changed, but the text files will not.

It just seems like it should work for all files, whether they are opened by the default view/edit program or not.

the ascii transfer is not functioning when transfer files .txt in ascii (or automatic) modus. when tranferrring from windows to unix the file remains the same. there is still the crlf. (when i change the connection to ftp it is functioning)

I'm connecting to an FTP server that sometimes takes up to 30 seconds to provide a banner and password prompt, but once it does connect, it stays up and provides very good transfer rates.

Is there a way to increase the wait time for the initial banner?

Filezilla 2.2.13c, Windows XP SP2. Otherwise, the utility looks awesome.

In version 2.2.14 I am transferring multiple files ([Process Queue] and [Use Multiple Connections] are both turned on). with no upload speed limit.

After the upload has been going, I apply an upload speed limit. Right after I hit [Enter], it stops transferring the current files, takes them out of the queue (altogether) and then continues on with the rest of the files in the queue. The speed limit takes effect, but now I'm short files in the queue that didn't really finish.

I can duplicate this.

I'm using Filezilla Client 2.2.14a. In past versions, after I made the initial connection and started the queue processing, I could disconnect from the primary FTP site and the queue would continue transfering. I could then connect and disconnect independently from the "Q" button.

Now when I press the disconnect button on the toolbar, the primary connection is disconnected AND the queue disconnects and shows "Transferring" in the status window (but nothing is actually transferring). At that point I cannot restart the queue until I close the program and restart it. The queue does not respond to the "Q" button.

Under file transfer settings i have setup 6 different rules for speed limits in both downloads and uploads (although same behaviour without uploads)

The reason is certain times of each day do not count against my download limit, and therefore i can download at full bandwidth while other times i have it limited to 1Kb.

with version 2.2.13 and above the speed limits stop working after a machine reboot. i can set constant speeds, but am unable to use the speed limit rules. each transfer goes right up to full bandwidth.

this isnt just with old files sitting in the queue from pre load, it is allso for new transfers setup during current sessions.

reinstalling 2.2.12 or older over the top fixes this problem.

log files are identicle for the two scenarios, so i havnt any idea whats causing this.

I´m using Filezilla Client 2.2.14b under Windows 2000.

I´ve renamed a file with the same name that another file that already exists. The problem is that the application don´t say anything about the problems that you can get if you rename a file with the same name of another. I try to explain me:

1.- I have a file named index.html 2.- I have a file named indexOLD.html 3.- I change the indexOLD.html to index.html and the application don´t show any message advising if you want to rename the filename or overwrite or something like that.

When I upload large amounts of files (especially larger binaries), I constantly have transfer errors and after a while critical transfer errors. It makes uploading a real pain and takes enormous amounts of time and monitoring. Also, in this process some binaries get corrupted, leading to hosts of other difficult to debug problems.

I use 2.2.14b against a Windows 2003 IIS ftp server.

It is difficult and frustrating to pause an upload / download over a set of files.

Steps:

1. Begin a transfer with small files [ ~ 20kb each, ie,

webpages ]

2. Scroll down
3. Select multiple files [ more than 20 ]
4. Pause.

Expected: Filezilla lets me pause the files I selected and doesn't mess with the UI.

Actual: I can't maintain the selection I had, because as soon as one uploads, the list recenters the view - despite me being in the middle of selecting things. I lose the highlighted files I had and have to start over. I can't select a lot of files at once. I can't sort the list, despite clickable heading buttons [whcih would suggest i could]. I get frustrated by having to select 5 files, pause them, unfocus them, select 5 more. I cannot pause a collection of files if any of them are already paused. So, if I highlight ONE file that's already paused, I can't change the other ones. The same applies if a file has messed up during transfer [ I can't pause failed files ].

Solutions: These bugs make it unpleasant to use filezilla because I'm wary of making a mistake, dropping in the wrong directory to upload. If this area was *bigger* by default, and did not move when I had my mouse in there AND let me set states that are already set [ie, ignore those items], I would be a much happier user.

I find that if the directory in end with certain Chinese characters, e.g. , the directory listing is corrupted and I cannot browse the content inside this directory

C:\WINDOWS\FileZilla.exe: Trojan.Downloader.Istbar- 158 FOUND.

No matter what setting I use, PASV mode is always set after login. On one particular server, this is not an option and I am dropped immediately. It's really rather annoying...

When I upload files against an IIS Windows 2003 ftp- server, Filezilla constantly has to reconnect. In a multi- file upload, I get several critical errors and multiple retry attempts. It constantly reports timeouts.

Large files especially suffer from this.

The absolute worst thing is that in some cases, a file will be uploaded but in fact only part of the file will have been placed on the server. This is absolutely killing, since you have no way of knowing which file it was. You get all sorts of corruption this way.

My settings: FileZilla 2.2.14b Enable keep alive system 15-30 seconds zero byte transfer limit 15 seconds attempt rety after 5 seconds up to 100 times.

I had to set 100 times otherwise it wouldn't be able to complete large file uploads.

FileZilla seems a very unreliable ftp client to me.

When retrieving data from a remote host, the data is sent to a local port that is not explicitly opened by FileZilla.

The result is that a firewall that unsolicited (or unexpected) inbound packets will reject all inbound data while attempting to use this program in a normal manner.

Example: FileZilla opens port 3825 on the local machine, but the data is being sent to local port 5004, which is not open by any program on the local host. As a result, the firewall on the local host rejects the data.

When i open for editing 2 different files with same name from 2 different server, and then i close the first file without saving it, and i modify the second and save it, it gets saved on the first server, not is own.

I have installed FileZilla 2.2.15 client on two machines Both machines have suffered otherwise inexplicable corruption of core MS software

And yes, I am running up to date virus software on both machines

• Machine 1: Windows Explorer consistently failed to

load correctly during Windows XP boot up, following a restart. Required an OS re-install

• Machine 2: MS Outlook encountered problems and

had to close; failed to start in safe mode and reported missing CAB files, requiring repair from original installation disks

I cannot prove that FileZilla was the culprit. However, neither machine has had any similar problems before, and both happened within a few hours of installing FileZilla 2.2.15

RaidenFTPD is one of the ftp client that requires CLNT before OPT UTF8 ON. However, the CLNT detection on FZ v2.2.15 fails to detect the CLNT requirement since the reponse of RaidenFTPD is something like:

That is, there is a single quote mark "'" (ASCII 0x27) prefixing the CLNT string such that CFtpControlSocket::DiscardLine method defined in FtpControlSocket.cpp could not catch that and not set 'm_hasClntCmd' to be 'true'.

The attachment is a small patch that adds " 'CLNT" and " \"CLNT" pattern into the CFtpControlSocket::DiscardLine. I'm not sure it will work since I have no VC++ to rebuild on my box. ;-)

If the FTP-Proxy is set to transparent but no User / Pass is provieded the client issues USER command even there is nothing to tell the firewall server. It would be better not to send the USER / PASS commands but just use the RemoteID@Remotehost without any other commands.

This would enable another class of FTP-Firewalls to be usable by FileZilla that just expect a connection request without any USER / PASS commands.

This solution will also improve the setup handling as it enables another version of firewall settings without adding another radio button.

I am webmaster in a company and all the modification a do on the website are not on my computer but on remote computer on the Network. So basically i take the files to upload from another computer and when i try to upload an entire folder, FileZila doesn't do anything.

I have no problem with the transfer of single or

multiple file and it is possible for me to upload folder if they come from my own computer. I am using FileZila 2.2.16

The -s command line switch to load a stored session does not bring up the prompt for password if the session was saved with type "normal" and "don't save password"..... and fails to log in..

an example : original file size is 792 234 octets, after transfer the size is 792 226 octets.

I had this problem only with image file.

My ISP is TDC (​http://tdc.dk) that comes with a free homepage. When logging in everything works as normal until FileZilla has to use the FTP LIST command. The program doesn't crash or freeze, it's just stuck trying to list the folders and files. FileZilla 2.2.15 works fine. The address to the FTP site is home20.inet.tele.dk port 21.

For the second time in 2-3 months i lost my sites and got an empty sitemanager. The 1st time i used XML, now i used the registry. The same problem.

When it happened: when i quickly EXITED the program, while transfers where happening.

I'm using the very latest version. Please look at it, since it has been reported a couple of times.

When starting Filezilla, the local site shows both the file view and the local treeview, but the remote site shows only the file view. I select View | Remote Treeview, and the remote tree view pane is shown. When I close Filezilla and open it again, the remote treeview is no longer shown.

This manifests itself in the Windows version, v2.2.16.

I've been using FileZilla for a while, but early this year (March or so), during the same version (2.12/13), I believe, I started getting problems with sudden, unexpected timeouts.

It usually happened right after I logged in and did something (like create a new folder, move a file or switch to a different folder). I also got timeouts during uploads, always when FileZilla sent the keep-connection-alive-comands.

I uploaded two files, each with a different example from the log window.

I hope I'm not repeating a bug, but none of the titles I looked at resembled anything I encountered (they are often vague, anyway, like 'buggy upload' and such...).

In the german translation the english word "site" is translated to the german "Seite", which is wrong. It only looks similar (site <-> Seite). "Seite" is the english "page". It is difficult to translate "site" to german. The normal translations doesn't fit the meaning of the internet term "site". An FTP-site is best called "FTP-Server" in german. "Server" is very common and don't need to be translated. There is also not a very fitting translation for "server". If you really want a good german translation for "FTP-site" that fits the meaning, you could use "FTP-Zugang", which would be more like "FTP access" in english.

I switched my Filezilla to english because this translation really hurts my brain ;) I didn't check any of the remaining translation but this "bug" is the most prominent.

I have noticed that when I connect to an MVS host via FileZilla and attempt to display a listing of all members within a partitioned dataset (PDS), some of the members are missing. When I manually log onto the MVS host and browse the PDS, the missing members are there.

The one thing that all of these 'missing' PDS members have in common is that they were last modified by a batch job or outside process, not a physical user/TSO ID. For some reason it seems this prevents FileZilla from recognizing that the members actually do exist within the dataset. If I enter any of the problem members and manually save the file (thus setting the last modified user to my TSO ID) the member is correctly listed in FileZilla.

The mainfraim is running ZOS/MVS...This seems to be an issue of how FTP retrieves member lists from PDSs. It can be very frustrating and has caused me a lot of rework in the past.

Just thought I'd report this as a potential bug.

"you should use the registry as storage location so that each user has it's own settings for FileZilla as well" - on the last frame of the latest installer. The apostrophe shouldn't be there.

I use Filezilla 2.2.16 on a Windows XP Pro SP2 and I've got a linux SMB server version 3.0.14a-2.1.fc4.kde. I've got some mapped drives to the SMB server and when I try to browse the mapped drive Filezilla stop responding, no re-draw, no answer for various minutes.

Running latest version and there doesn't appear to be support for SSH with private/public key. You can only use passwords for SSH.

Maybe it isn't necessary to LIST twice when an SFTP upload has abruptly ended and a reconnect is in order. On a modem it takes a whale of a time to do the whole shebang on two occasions.

FileZilla Client fails to upload complete directories from UNC paths.

Steps to repoduce:

• Connect to remote site
• Open local UNC-based share (eg.
  somecomputer\someshare)
• Drop a folder from said local UNC-based share into

the remote site's pane

The started occuring with build 2.2.16 and exists in build 2.2.17 -- Builds prior to 2.2.16 are not affected.

This is also occurs when the local site windowpane contains an UNC path. Right-clicking a folder/directory and selecting 'Upload' does absolutely nothing.

Detail: It's 3am, you're tired. You use the edit control to alter your current location on the Remote site, but accidentally use a \ where you should have used a /. Luckily, Filezilla knows what you mean and converts it to the right slash.

When you begin to rely on that behaviour, it's extremely frustrating to attempt to do the same in the Local site control. You enter "c:/foo/bar/" and get an annoying warning.

Severity: Minor annoyance

Explanation: User relies on one behaviour which is inconsistent in other areas, causing frustration.

Solutions:

• Path box automagically swaps slashes
• Path boxes (everywhere) are like a browser's location

bar, and facilitate something like tab-completion - not just for past entries into the box, either.

i've tested old version 2.2.14 and new 2.2.17 with same result: while downloading an iso of size ~6GB filezilla looped downloading.... dunno what. i stopped downloading when file exeeded 9GB.

i had no problem downloading file with different client.

Have been using FileZilla to access mainframe system. Have noticed a problem. z/OS is comprised of two different types of filesystems: USS (Unix System Services) HFS/ZFS that behaves much like traditional unix systems from an FTP client perspective and then there are MVS datasets. The MVS datasets are accessed in the following manner with an FTP client:

'DSNAME1.QUALIFY.THIS'

Depending on the type of dataset, this may represent an individual file or a whole directory. However, when using the GUI, if I am in the HFS location /u/home/cuppett and typing in a directory change into the GUI, it attempts to navigate to this location:

/u/home/cuppett/'DSNAME.QUALIFY.THIS'

I am asking that the pwd not get added onto the front if a special character such as ' is added to the front of the path, or perhaps if the pwd is cleared out on the remote side, pwd is never prepended to what is typed in.

I think due the escape character problem, some chinese characters of the filename/directory name are corrupted when I use FileZilla to browse my own FTP. I am not sure how I can provide more information to you.

If you have a network drive mapped to a directory on a UNIX machine, FileZilla can browse it in the "local site" window just as it can with C: etc.

But there's a problem... the UNIX filesystem is case- sensitive, so you could have X:\MyFolder and X:\myfolder as two separate folders (where X is the mapped drive). FileZilla can't handle this. When you try to view a local folder that contains two folders of the same name but different case, FileZilla hangs. It stops responding and hogs around 100% of CPU.

This was particularly bad for me, as I was viewing a folder, then I created a subfolder which had the same name but different case as an existing subfolder, (to be fair, FileZilla didn't let me do this, I had to do it on the command line), and refreshed FileZilla. Not only did it hang at that point, it proceeded to hang every time I started FileZilla... it had remembered the last local view and tried to reload it at startup.

Unfortunately it doesn't get as far as writing anything to the debug file.

Over the last week while using 2.2.17a this has happened several times while transferring large batches of files from W2K machine to a remote site via FTP -

the contents of files in a given directory are switched ... i.e. file hokum.module has the contents that should be readme.txt and vice versa.

I use the file type of .stm for my SSI html files.

So I entered in FileZilla client V2.2.18 > Interface settings> File viewing / editing a file type line of :

stm %SystemRoot%\system32\notepad.exe

On right clicking on one of these files in local site filname box and choosing 'View/ Edit' I get no launch of notepad or anything happening.

I do have the default program line set to: C:\Program Files\IrfanView\i_view32.exe But not even this is launched.

So is Filezilla not aware of system variables perhaps? The use of system variables to locate program is a valid method of using.

The line stm c:\windows\system32\notepad.exe does works however. But the previous method should work too. So it's a system variable problem.

I'm using Windows XP PRO sp2

BTW, the Example help text in this windows is misleading.

Notepad.exe is no longer kept in c:\windows with XP.
