FileZilla 3.29 update failed to install correctly. Mac OS X 10.11.6, MacBook Pro, Intel Core i7 processor. Downloaded FileZilla_3.29.0_macosx-x86.app.tar.bz2 to my Downloads directory Unpacked the bz2 file in place to FileZilla_3.29.0_macosx-x86.app.tar using WinZip 6.0.3507 Unpacked the tar file in place by double-clicking on it in Finder. Moved FileZilla.app to the Applications directory, replacing my existing version of FileZilla, 3.27. Tried to open FileZilla 3.29 app by double-clicking on it in Finder. Immediately get this message from Finder: "The application “FileZilla.app” can’t be opened." Restored my 3.27 version from TimeMachine; works fine. Repeated the above steps; same result. Unpacked the app again onto the Desktop. Same result. I didn't find the download digest on the FileZilla downloads page. Suggest putting it there so users can check that the file was not corrupted.

I've used FileZilla for years, love it. Updated frequently, using same install procedure. Not a problem before.

• Connect to an ftp or sftp server by using FileZilla 3.30.0
• Enter a remote directory and rename a file in that directory
• End renaming operation by clicking outside of the file-name textbox
• As a result, you won't be able to click on any file from that point forward or click on "..." to switch to another directory.
• Refreshing file listview does not help. The only way to unfreeze file listview is to switch to another directory by using the remote site combobox other than closing the application and opening it back on.

It doesn't occur if you use Enter Key to finish renaming a file.

Hello, I tried to install the latest version of FileZilla from FileZilla_3.32.0_macosx-x86_setup_bundled but this time Avast threw a warning.

Could somebody advice is this is false or the repository been hacked?

Filezilla Pro has issues with locating the local drives and files. it only recognizes the download folder and lets you download files only there. The free Filezilla has no issues with that. Please help!

Hi Guys, I start having a weird problem uploading to webdav. It was working before but now when I upload folders it shows that it transfers/transfers is complete and not showing as failed/, but there is no folders nor files in the remote drive. At the same time if i manually make the folder on the remote drive and upload only files into it works just fine. I made a screen video to show you how it acts.

Expected: 1) Idle timeout causes disconnect. 2) User request a refresh. 3) FileZilla should immediately reconnect and refresh listing.

Observed: 1) Idle timeout elapses, connection dies. (no messages in the log indicate this) 2) User request a refresh. 3) "Delay between reconnect attempts" (e.g. 20sec) is enforced 4) FileZilla reconnects and refreshes directory listing

It seems like FileZilla is not aware that the connection has been terminated due to idle timeout until it tries to use the dead connection again. The disconnect button on the toolbar also remains available after the timeout disconnect. In fact, using the Disconnect and Reconnect buttons will work as expected for a connected session, even after the idle timeout has long passed.

Thanks for taking a look. For now I just put 2 hours for the idle timeout, even though that's not really ideal. I also don't know if this is in the client or libfilezilla but it manifests in the client so that's what I chose.

I can't use latest v. 3.34.0 on Mac OSX 10.13.5 The Site Manager is not fully showing, so I can't select my sites from the list. Attached screenshot.

My MacBook Air is using OS X Yosemite version 10.10.5

From the trac.filezilla-project.org site I click the green button on the download Client File Zilla.

1) I see, at the bottom left of my screen, it loading. It takes about 5 seconds, I briefly see a green check mark and then I see up at the top of my screen:my sophos anti-virus says "Adware or PUA detected by Sophos Anti-Virus" and "Adware or PUA InstallCore (ID:5) has been blocked and listed in Quarantine Manager" When I open Quarantine Manager I get: /Users/agw/Downloads/FileZilla_3.34.0_macosx-x86_setup_bundled.dmg

2) When I click on the rectangle for FileZilla, I get a 'warning' box that says 'the following disc images couldn't be opened' and then I get a small 'chart' where under image it says FileZilla_3.34_0 macos and under 'Reason' it says 'Permission denied'.

after 4 or 5 minutes of ftp download i have a reboot of my Mac mini (every time i use this version of filezilla) - the system information log indicate a kernel panic in some filezilla component- i use the last filezilla version 3.34.0

I upgraded to 3.34.0, and now my site manager which lists my sites is super narrow and I cannot change its width.

As soon as the language is set to default system language (which is german on my system) or to german language, the settings/preferences windows uses the full width of the screen.

The app keep telling me there is a new version, when downloading and install my Imac (10.11.6) chrash every time. I want to disable new version or have a fixed version.

Since the most recent update I've been unable to launch filezilla. I've even deleted the app and re-downloaded it from the website to be sure I'm using the latest version.

I hunted for files in Library to delete to have a completely fresh install but couldn't find any supporting files.

I've looked in Console and it's reporting the following lines which appear to be related to code used the launch the app:

When I open FileZilla it crash. I just have a menu with FileZilla, no submenu and nothing else. I have to force him to leave.

We have hundreds of enterprise customers worldwide testing our products early while they are making purchase decisions and they need the drivers that we host on our FTP site.

With the version 3.37.0 of FileZilla Pro on Mac (3.37.1 doesn't exist yet on the store) it became impossible to recursively delete full directories on normal FTP servers. If I try to delete a full directory, no matter what's inside (1 file or 100), I get this error: "451 Delete operation failed (Fsys error=145, server error=1015)".

The issue is software related since with the previous version I could do it and with any other FTP clients (even on my mobile phone) I can perform the operation without any problems on the same tested servers.

Hope there is a solution or that my info can help.

Since I've upgraded macOS to mojave I can not move multiple items (single files or folders) from local drive to FTP server. Once I select more than 1 item FileZilla hangs or shuts down. I can transfer (by dragging) files only one by one. It takes forever. I have FileZilla client 3.37.1

There are quite a few issues when using the Dark UI on MacOS Mojave Dark UI.

The log has a black box background, and then the text is highlighted, looks terrible. But the biggest issue is you cannot read any of the dialogues that pop up.

I was using FileZilla 3.37.1 to download files from the server. It seemed to complete but then it gave the following messages about a bad disconnect with the server. The Response: 421 Timeout message is rather snarky.

Prior to today's update, I was able to drag any file from the local site window to the appropriate editor on the taskbar and have it open. This function no longer works.

When I download the latest release of FileZilla Client for Mac, I get an error message displaying that it is not supported on this type of mac and the file might be corrupted. I'm on macOS Mojave. Any idea why? It was displaying the same error message before I upgrade to Mojave. I use FileZilla most of my time so it is kind of critical for me not to have access to it atm..

I purchased Filezilla Pro so I could test out connectivity to our Openstack Swift storage ( we host three clusters around the world for our end users). I immediately run into an issue. We use Openstack Swift with the keystone identity service, with v2.0 being our standard identity protocol.

If I typo the API KEY ( aka password) , I get 401. With all correct details, I get 200 OK as above, but it claims not to have a token, but it is returned. I've used Wireshark with the SSL decryption to confirm this.

I use the app switcher (CMD+Tab) to switch between applications on MacOS. However, I've noticed recently that FileZilla no longer shows up on the list of running applications on the app switcher.

This means I have to have it visible, so that I can click in the app, or I have to click on the app in the task bar so that I can find it again.

I'm using the Apple Store 'FileZilla Pro' version.

Most local directories and files are not displaying in the window. However the Downloads directory works. Is this some sort of file permissions issue?

This is a fresh install on a new machine. I imported my Site Manager accounts and preferences from the previous machine (which ran the same version of FileZilla Client and Mac OS).

Error Program opens and connects to a remote Linux server successfully using SFTP on custom SSH port. Files dragged to destination and upon successful transfer of the entire queue the program immediately closes. No error messages in log file even in full debug mode. The program then has to be reopened to do more transfers.

I was deleting an empty folder called ~ through FileZilla.

However, I started to notice that it was taking way too long to delete 8KB. When I looked at the logs, I saw that it was deleting all files in /home/<user>/... instead o /home/<user>/<path>/~.

Sadly, the damage had been done. I'm filling this bug report so this may not happen to anyone else.

I almost did this myself in the console, before I realized I had to use ./~ instead of ~. I'm not sure how FTP works overall, but a possible fix may be to always include ./ or the full path... no idea though.

After upgrade from a previous version of Filezilla, upon opening the application an error message as follows appears:

"You can't use this version of the application 'FileZilla' with this version of macOS. You have macOS 10.13.6. The application requires macOS 10.14 or later."

In the Applications directory, the app symbol is shown with a semi-transparent crossed out symbol indicating that it cannot be used.

I upgraded from 3.42.0 to 3.42.1 using FileZilla_3.42.1_macosx-x86_sponsored-setup.dmg and get the error that FileZilla 3.42.1 doesn't work with MacOS 10.13.6, required 10.14 or later. I'm using 10.13.6; 3.42.0 worked fine. The downloads page says "Requires OS X 10.9 or newer", https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client. The release notes for 3.42.1 says it fixed a bug about compatibility with 10.13. However, the fix apparently made it impossible to work with 10.13. Does FileZilla no longer work with Mac OS X 10.13.6, or is a bug fix in the offing?

when trying to open any other directory other than desktop in filezilla pro for mac version 3.42.1.

when trying to load something like the download folder i can't even see anything in my parent folder. i have tried to locate the folder my manually typing in /Users/*NAME*/Download/ or /Users/cadetbester/Music/ both of which do not show the files that should be there.

I am running a local min.io s3 server on my local network and FileZilla Pro can not connect to it.

I set the hostname to my min.io s3 server network IP address but I can see in the access logs that FZ ignores my host entry and simply uses an Amazon address instead which of course fails.

The host IP address is entered in the "Host:" box as 192.168.0.43 and Port: 9000 however FZ Pro shows that it is trying to access a different server: Retrieving directory listing... Status: Resolving address of s3.dualstack.us-east-1.amazonaws.com Status: Connecting to 52.216.9.37:9000... Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing ... so it looks like it has used my port number but ignored my host IP address and used something from AWS or something internal instead. This seems to be a bug because it is entirely reasonable to expect "Host:" to allow me to connect to a s3 server at my own IP address.

After updated to client version 3.44.2, the usage of copy and paste using <CMD>+<C> and <CMD>+<V> is not possible.

Got new MacBook Pro and installed latest version 3.44.2. Filezilla worked on my older Macbook Air. Getting "fzsftp could not be started" when I try and connect. I have all the same software I had on my old machine so I am not sure why I cannot connect. I have downloaded a few other FTP clients and they all work but Filezilla. Any help would be appreciated.

The same command works fine in the previous version of FileZille I am still using.

I recently had ATT install their "Fixed Wireless" service for Internet at my house. The ATT Fixed Wireless system uses an antenna on the roof to receive signal from the ATT cellular network to deliver Internet via a wire to a new router they installed the home. It is NOT a "hotspot." Anyway, after it was installed, I found I could no longer use FileZilla to connect via secure FTP to my server (I previously never had any trouble). Fortunately, I had not yet disconnected the previous Internet connection, so I switched to that router and was able to connect as I had previously.

I called ATT Fixed Wireless for some help and, although I ended up getting disconnected before I was connected to tech support, the "receptionist" opined that the issue could be related to lack of support for "port forwarding" in their ATT Fixed Wireless service. I do not have sufficient knowledge to know if that is the issue, but mention it in case there is any relevance.

The settings that I have always used for this server are:

I tried the two other "secure" protocols available in FileZilla (using the ATT Fixed Wireless network) and the result was the same unsuccessful connection attempt. Then I tried the standard unencrypted FTP over Port 21 and that worked fine (e.g. the ATT Fixed Wireless successfully connected me to my server using vanilla FTP, but would not work with any secure method).

I did not try SFTP because I have never been successful in getting that set up on the server or client side.

It is hard to believe this is not something I can resolve with a tweak to an existing setting (which I do not know about), but if not, it seems to me that is is going to prevent me from using FileZilla and I certainly hope that is not the outcome, because the ATT Fixed Wireless connection is 20 times faster than my now-disconnected DSL.

FileZilla 3.45.1 was the only version I could start on my Mac, but now it crashes on launch. At the bottom of the message there is the report. All other newer versions, after installation, return the message "The application could not be opened"

Until a couple of days ago I was able to upload and download files without any issues. The day before yesterday, FileZilla Pro simply could not download any files from the servers I usually work with. It started showing “Fail to open …”, “File Transfer failed…”, etc. messages. I bought FillaZilla Pro from the App Store and I noticed that I was working with version 3.46.3, (the only version currently available at the App Store). After noticing that I went to the FileZilla site and downloaded version 3.47.1 and all the issues were resolved, I was able to upload and download without any problems. After 48 hours of using version 3.47.1 the application simply “disappeared”, (there was a big translucent “?” superimposed over the FileZilla icon), and that version of the application was not operational anymore. I am assuming that has to do with some type of “payment” issue, (buying the application from the developer’s site and not a third party distributor like Apple), so I went back to the App Store, I downloaded their version and the “File Transfer failed…” problem instantly came back. Is there a way to authorize the latest version of FileZille Pro, (downloaded from the FileZilla website), and continue to use it normally? How can I solve this problem since the App Store does not have the current version and it is almost impossible to contact them? I really need to fix this issue because my work involves uploading and downloading files from FTP servers on a daily basis.

The top folder pane is nearly unusable on Mac OS Catalina. When trying to navigate it shows empty folders on top in the tree view. Responses to clicking folders are erratic.

The only way to navigate now is to use the lower files/folders tree view.

There is no problem with Google Drive FTP. Connecting. However, I cannot make transactions with Google Drive or Dropbox in "filezilla site manager synchronization". As you can see in the video, it makes you wait for minutes.

On clicking FileZilla app Mac OS Malware popup warning states "FileZilla.app will damage your computer. You should move it to the trash." Checkbox is checked "Report malware to Apple to protect other users." The popup offers choice of moving to trash or cancel.

This is new since the most recent MacOs update to 10.15.4

The app is not usable.

Whenever I right click and choose "Edit" menu for a file, for instance a txt file, although the file will open up in my Macbook Textedit app as usual, an error message following will popup says "Opening Failed.... 'file path' could not be opened: The Associated Command Failed".

File extension included txt php htm html etc.. Although I didn't setup any filetype association under the setting menu, it shouldn't behave like that. Also the filetype association command is not working too I had tried. It only happens in this latest app version for Mac.

I am trying to edit a file but I get this message :

The 'functions.php' cannot be opened. The associated program ('Applications/TextEdit.app' %f) could not be found. Please check your file type associations.

I've never had a problem with earlier versions. And I have TextEdit.app installed and working. I am trying to finish a setup for a website launch on Wednesday, so please help me with this.

When I try to connect to any SFTP server I get an error "fzsftp could not be started". Interestingly if I switch to Czech language I get an "fzputtygen could not be started" error (of course translated). It happens since 3.52.0 version. Version 3.51.0 works. My guess would be that the double slash in path to fzsftp is causing the problem

The new 3.52.2 version is crashing when uploading to dropbox. I never had any problems with 3.51 and have uploaded over 2TB of Data with no problems. The new version randomly crashes at different times. I've also tried reinstalling. Is there any chance you can send me a link to download the older FileZilla Pro 3.51 again until there's a fix?

Ever since I updated to 3.52.x I noticed that my usual concurrent file transfers crash (reboot) my 2019 Macbook Air. This happens around 6-7 times out of 10. I usually d/load large file archives using 3 concurrent transfers. Other usage during file transfers is minimal, as I usually leave it running overnight. This never used to be an issue < 3.52.x and I have downloaded a trial version of Transit to confirm that indeed it does not happen with that software. What is immediately noticeable is that transferring files with 3.52.x, the fans of my machine start blowing a few minutes into the transfer, and don't stop until the transfer is done. I will downgrade to 3.51.x as a temporary measure.

Please let me know if I need to do anything to provide more information.

FZ fails at end of transfer on Mac OS 11.2.2

FZ will transfer all files but at the end the UI just drops out. I wish there would be a way to provide more details over and above what the "FileZilla.log" in "debug" mode can provide?

FileZilla Client 3.53.0 (macOS 10.13.6) cable internet (200 MBit/s)

Settings -> Transfers:

• max simultaneous transfers: 1
• limit for concurrent downloads: 1
• limit for concurrent uploads: 1

Site Manager -> Transfer Settings:

• maximum number of connections: 1

With these settings (see screenshots attached) I would expect, that only one connection is being used. Other than that (depending on how much files I transfer, lets say 1000) FileZilla creates during the FTPS transfer several dozens (up to some hundreds) connections to the server until I got blocked by the servers firewall.

Is this a bug or a feature? ;-)

Hello, after the latest update Google Drive is not working, and while adding the google drive using the site Filezilla is crashing. Please look into it and suggest a solution.

The newly generated RSA 2048 key on Putty in Windows, and Mac is not loading on CyberDuck.

Steps:

1. Generate a private key using PUTTY
2. Open FileZilla
3. Site Manager > New Site
4. Select Logon type as 'Key file'
5. select the attached PPK file from the ticket.

FileZilla will not accept the key nor display an error message. The same key works fine with ​https://cyberduck.io/

When it crashes it does it unceremoniously, no crash dump nothing on the screen. Just boom - gone.

Happens when transferring files to OneDrive.

Crashes each time after successful login to google drive account after update to new version. Reopening app from macOS crash dialog also reopens a new terminal window – does not crash again with terminal window open. Closing terminal window closes the app. Tried reinstall.

A file is transferred from a TSO system to a Mac and back again. The file has format LRECL=80 RECFM=PS BLKSIZE=3120. The target dataset for the transfer back to TSO is preallocated with the correct attributes.

The contents of the returned file are not in the correct order.

This has started happening since the Mac was upgraded to BigSur.

When transferred using SFTP to the USS file system the order is correct.

Hi, In version 3.55.0, FileZilla Client on Mac throws error "Could not get reply from fputtygen" when it is trying to import an RSA key to generate the PPK formatted key. In older version, it is successfully importing the key and converting them to PPK format without this error. We are using FileZilla Pro.

Steps:

1. Generate an RSA key using command "ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 4096 -C "filezillaPPKconversionissue" -f temp"
2. For password, provide any password like 'test'
3. Open FileZilla 3.55.0 > File > Site Manager
4. Protocol: SFTP
5. host: enter host
6. Logon type: Key file
7. User: enter user
8. Key file: select the private key generated "temp"
9. FileZilla client will prompt to convert key to pPK format. click yes

10 enter key password and confirm

11. enter filename for PPK file like 'testppk' and press SAVE in the file save dialog
12. you will get error popup "Could not get reply from fputtygen"

The application fails to move beyond Getting started with FileZilla Pro screen upon purchase from the MacOS App Store. When the only options available are Subscribe (center screen under logo) or Quit (bottom right). I cancelled the subscription. Pressing the Subscribe button only extends the subscription after current subscription period ends.

Often I having problem with window position. Please add a feature to prevent saving minus X and Y position of FZ Window. I recently encountered a very strange file corruption problem.

The scenario is that I upload a file from my PC(macOS) through FTP protocol with Filezilla(v3.55.1) to an FTP server(windows).

Note:

I have set the FTP mode to passive and FTP transfer mode to binary.

if the file size is bigger than 1M, it would be corrupted, but there are no errors shown at Filezilla. (File transfer successful, transferred 6014038 bytes in 12 seconds) I check the MD5 of the file at the server-side. Which has diverted from my client-side. I capture the packet of the communication between server and client with Wireshark, does not find any explicit error. I also hex dump the content of the original file at the client-side and the file at the server-side and compared them, the former 16385 bytes are different, but the remaining bytes are the same. (approximately 360000 bytes).

More info:

if the file size is smaller than 100KB. It could be uploaded successfully. if the upload speed is limited under 500KB/s(enable speed limit in FileZilla), the larger file could be uploaded successfully. the file could be uploaded by other FTP clients to the same FTP server without corruption, so the FTP server is working fine.

I tried other FTP client, which can also upload the files to server without corruption.

I although check with my two colleagues' PC (both MacOS Bigsur), they can upload with FileZilla(same version) successfully without corruption.

at first, I doubt that there would be some problem with my network condition, but the md5 of the file I uploaded is the same every time even if it is corrupted.

Any help or tips would be very appreciated.

If the local folder (no matter it's located in HDD or external USB drive) selected contains more than 10,000 files (in my case 14,600 JPEGs, with average file size <1MB), I quitted the FileZilla client and re-opens again, it takes at least 5 minutes to see the interface (not even started to connect to any server). My iMac was idle at that moment (no other software using significant resources).

Can the startup performance be improved?

Trying to update FileZilla from 3.46.3 to 3.56 on MacOS 10.15.7. Downloaded installer FileZilla_3.56.0_macosx-x86.app.tar.bz2. Unpacked it using WinZip, in Downloads folder. Double-clicking on the FileZilla.app icon gets this message: The application “FileZilla.app” can’t be opened. Version 3.46.3 works fine. All SSH connections to different accounts hosted at Strato in Germany get refused suddenly on my Mac.

Solution: Had to replace Servername 'ssh.strato.de' with the ip-adress (which I found out by pinging ssh.strato.de). You should fix this problem, because the soliotion isn't obvious and not documented at Strato or elsewhere!

BtW: Connections to servers NOT hosted at Strato were not affected within the same client on the same Mac.

For the last two or three versions, I keep getting a 'new version available' message, but in the pop after startup (same when clicking the top menu item) I see: "The new version could not be downloaded".

The links with details and website just below that text only show when I hover them, I discovered this by accident. I downloaded and installed the update, 3.57.0. Now it will not connect when I enter command-R. Says TLS connection is established, enters the password (which has not changed), then times out. I restarted, but with same problem. Other FTP software works just fine. Only change is the new FileZilla.

OSX 10.15.7, FileZilla 3.60.2 Downloaded FileZilla_3.60.2_macosx-x86.app.tar.bz2 and unzipped using WinZip. The SHA code matched. However, FileZilla.app would not open. Fixed the problem by running chmod -R 744 FileZilla.app Suggestion: set all file permissions correctly in the download file so this step is not necessary.

Also tried to update on another machine, OS 10.14.6; same thing, same fix.

"You have to enter a hostname" bug. Not sure if this issue occurs on Windows but I hope it gets fixed.

The number of files selected in the file list & their totals do not match up with what is shown in the directory status bar.

CMD+C to copy a file name does not work in the file list.

Since 3.62.0, the usual key combination to select all files in pane (Command/a on Mac) does not work. All files must now be selected manually rather than a quick keystroke combination to "select all" before initiating a transfer.

I'm running MacOS Monterey 12.6.3 with 6 displays on Mac Studio and the same OS version running on a Macbook Air M2 with only built-in display.

Starting with version 3.62.0 of the client app, as soon as you open it it goes to fullscreen mode and there is no way to get it out of fullscreen mode. The menu bar is also hidden and only becomes visible when one moves mouse cursor to the top of the screen.

When filezilla is open I can hit F3(mission control) and it clear shows that there are 2 separate spaces open: Desktop and Filezilla. The app is unusable right now for drag/drop operations from other apps.

I've tested all versions from 3.62.0 to 3.63.1 and the issue persists on both the Version 3.61.0 and earlier work without issue. I see there is a forum thread about this so I'm not the only person seeing this issue.

In the dark mode of FileZilla on MacBook, the color and text color is very hard to read in this combination.

The colors should be changed for the dark mode in FileZilla for macOS. On the screenshot, it looks like it's easy to read but in reality, when you're sitting in front of your laptop, it's not!

This morning I noticed that my private key authentication, which used to work seamlessly, is now frequently timing out. When it doesn't time out, it's taking a very long time to successfully process actions such as directory changes or file updates. My initial thought is that this might be related to the notification in my FileZilla that a new version is available. However, there doesn't appear to be a valid version available for my operating system.

I already tried making new connections to my web server. When that didn't help, I quit and restarted FileZilla, which also didn't help.

Just downloaded FileZilla Client to my new computer and I'm seeing an issue I've never had before. In the "View" tab I have Tool bar and Quickconnect bar checked but they are not showing on my screen, so I have no way to connect to any servers. My computer and FileZilla are both totally up to date and I've played around with other settings. I've also looked through the forums and can't seem to find anything related to this. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Updates that show up even when "Never" is set in the drop down box. I do not need to be reminded for something that I do not need.

In relation to ticket 13070 being closed without resolution, I think it is time to say good-bye to filezilla.

I am on the paid MacOS client from the App Store.

FZ has worked perfectly for years, but broke after my upgrade to Sonoma 14.4. (I understand that this is a buggy release from Apple.)

As the attached image shows, neither file pane populates.

Both MacOS and FZ have been updated as of March 22 2024.

Using FileZilla 2.1.4b, I can FTP files to Xbox normallyat a high speed, like several Mbps. Upgrading to FileZilla 2.1.5 and higher (I tried the latest 2.1.8b) the FTP uploads slow down to around 20-70K/sec. FTP downloads to PC are fast and it is just the uploads that are slow in later versions.

I am using EvolutionX and XBMP 2.4 as FTP server.

Hello, as the title says not everything in a folder will be uploaded and I tried it several times and this happens since the last five updates of FileZilla, so some content was uploaded and some not and it's impossible for me to explain it why, in the older releases it was possible to upload a full folder with its content but in the newer ones its not possible and I ask why? The site manager has a button labeled "Discard" for what might usually be labeled "Cancel." The different wording is not necessary, and can create confusion. For example (being the idiot that I am?), I first assumed that the "Discard" button would... discard the information on the current screen. That is, I thought the information would be deleted instead of the changes (if applicable) canceled.

Maybe once in every 5-10 times I rename a file, I will lose the ability to select/highlight, etc. the files in either the remote or local pane. At this point, Filezilla becomes unusable. The only way to recover is to relaunch the program or to disconnect and then reconnect.

This issue may have started with Filezilla version 3.

Process queue freezes when some file is downloading. To resume it for some time the mouse moving is needed. It seems wxGTK's message queue freezes.

The upload bar covers the scroll bar in the file transfer list. I think it is caused by hiding the status of the file transfer. It is tough to explain. There is still a small space where the status should be and when it is above the scroll bar the upload bar will cover the scroll bar. You might have to scroll up and down once and then click on a file that is uploading. I am using the latest nightly build, it has been happening since the nightly builds after 3.1.3. I should have a screenshot attached to this ticket.

After installing a new (the default 8.10 one, with the 8.10 GTK engine : "gtk2-engines-murrine") theme on my OS (i use GNOME + Compiz), i noticed Filezilla's GUI was having trouble with it.

My problem is that the font of the text in the "file explorers" (local and remote) is light-grey, while the theme background is just... white.

On my theme, the light-grey is the text colour for taskbars and such things, which all have a dark background. The area with white background is meant to go with dark text colour.

So i think the problem is that for these text areas in Filezilla, the text color that is picked is not the one that should be used with the background colour (grey+white instead of black+white). This is likely to happen in a lot of themes, including one of the default themes of Ubuntu 8.10 coming in less than 3 weeks.

I hope you can correct this bug, it's likely to be half a line to write, but as it's pretty annoying, it'd be cool that you do it fast, or tell Ubuntu devs at launchpad.org how to solve it and add it to our repository.

When you scroll with the mouse in the "Queued Files" transfer window, the graphic bar (green percentage thing) doesn't scroll properly, and it sort of screws things up.

I'm on filezilla 3.1.2 (using the ubuntu package from the repository).

I had to backup some files for a computer under Ubuntu and Windows Vista. On Vista, everything is good but on Ubuntu, Filezilla freeze before starting each file transfer. Sometimes, there is 40 seconds between 2 transfers. More connections at once you allowed, more freezes you have. With only 1 connection, it freeze too.

System: Laptop Intel Core 2 duo 1.8 GHz Ethernet 10/100 chipset

Server: FileZilla server under Windows XP SP3

How to reproduce: 1- Take large number of files (use for example 2-3 javadoc folders) 2- Add this files to the queue 3- Start download or upload

some users reported problems with their ftp accounts using filezilla, the always got: Command: PWD Response: 500 Unknown command. Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing Response: 500 Unknown command. Response: 257 "/" Trace: Unexpected reply, no reply was pending.

i noticed that if i change their password, it works fine, if i change it back to the original value, the error comes back, i am attaching debug logs for both cases.

yes, it sounds like witchcraft, but i saw many people in forums with the same problem. this is the only workaround i found.

the same goes for gftp, only the debug window says "Invalid response '2' received from server."

If I open a txt file with spaces in it's name it will open a few blank tabs instead.
