Since Release 3.18.0 (actual release) in german there is a "no such file or Directory" answer if i try to get files with a german character (äöü) in the path or the name. If i rename the path without These characters, everything works fine.

The german translation of the term 'site' is inconsistent and misleading.

In the current version "site" is translated using the words "Server" (which is obviously not the same as site) and "Seite" (Seite is the german word for page!)

Somebody may construct some word like "FTP-Präsenz". But this word is not in use, it sounds ugly untechnical, and it is longer and more complicated than "Site".

Since there seems to be no german word for the term site in this context, I suggest to use the word "Site", which is frequently used by german-speaking people.

Correct German is "Verzeichnissen", not "Verzeichnisse" (see attachment or ​https://calavivo.coach/verzeichnissen.jpg)

Usage of german (öäü) umlauts in proxy user passwords produce an error in FileZilla. If the proxy user password contains such umlauts a "normal" could not connect message is shown.

If the proxy user password doesn't contain umlauts it works normally again.

Recently I have had my FTP connections drop after a period of inactivity (about 10 to 15 minutes or so), and when I try to reconnect I get a 530 login incorrect error.

I have tried disabling the Windows firewall, I've double checked my credentials and am certain there is nothing wrong there. The only way to fix it seems to be restarting my computer (restarting FileZilla isn't enough).

To reiterate, there is nothing wrong with my credentials, and a computer restart fixes the problem, but if the server drops the connection after a period of inactivity it is impossible to restart the connection because of this 530 login incorrect error.

I am getting this error (Failed to retrieve directory listing) when conneting to my AS/400 system. This has always worked with older versions o FileZilla.

I have a Vista 64 bit, I tried to install Regcure to repair the issue but it won't let me load it up because it is a vista. Can you recommend a site that is compatible with Vista 64 and what are the steps in repairing it so that I may go back online?.

Hello after upgrading to 3.24.0 I am unable to connect to a site with an untrusted certificate. Similar tickets 11129 11131 and 11152 were closed REJECTED.

These bugs were REJECTED on the basis that a valid server certificate was required BUT IN PREVIOUS RELEASES CONNECTION WAS ALLOWED AFTER A DIALOG WAS SHOWN.

I would like the dialog RESTORED so that I can approve a connection to a shared server -- or a link to a previous release so I can access my business-related server. Thank you for your quick work on this.

We have a hosting setup where we allow ftp using ftps. On one of our server while connecting over ftp we encounter following error.

This problem has not been encountered on any other server and we have many of them having same ftp setup/configuration.

This problem occurs with version 3.6,3.6.0.2 and 3.6.0.1 on archlinux.but on downgrading to version 3.5.3 there was no such problem.

I also found that one of our user on windows xp using version 3.3.2.1 also encountered this error.

This error was not encountered when using other ftp clients namely fireftp and coreftp.

I also tried downgrading gnutls but it didnt helped the problem persisted.

Hello,

I have just installed Filezilla Client 3.4.0 running on a fresh install of CentOS 5.6. (linux 2.6.18-238.el5.i386) wxWidgets is running 2.8.12 and GnuTLS is 2.8.5. I am attempting to connect to a FTPS site that requires a public authentication key, which has been already loaded. When I attempt to connect, I get the following error:

None of the tickets opened previously by other people have been fully answered. Most went unanswered (by the submitter) and got closed. My issue is using the Linux distribution of Filezilla got me the following output when connecting from my computer:

I run Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64 bit. This error occurred on February 23, 2018 and I've been running through possible solutions thus far. Before Feb. 23, I've been using a Mac to connect to the same server without any problems. The server information is (areas with <* *> are sensitive areas and are ommitted):

After uploading multiple files, the protocol section of the FileZilla GUI results in a graphics error so that icon disappear. I noticed this error already a view versions ago.

When displaying a directory list of the remote site, the directories written in Greek initially appear OK, but when clicking on them the directory name in the tree view becomes garbage and a correct copy of the directory name appears again !! (lower in the tree view, I will call this entry "phantom").

When clicking the "phantom" directory entry, the cursor jumps an selects again the garbaged directory name.

In any case the contents of the directory appear correctly (Filename in Greek, size etc).

I noticed today an HMA VPN shortcut on my desktop. I did not install it.

Checking its directory in C:\Program Files, I find that it appeared on October 6. That is when I launched FileZilla after not having used it for a while. It prompted me to download and install an update to FileZilla, which I did.

Was HMA VPN bundled with that within-app update?

When I download pages from my server, when edited contain only garbled chinese characters, and none of the original content.

When logging to my HTTP Proxy Filezilla send Base64 encoded user:pass with an extra '=' character at the end. This is not supported by my company proxy and doesn't seem to be required by base64 standard.

if you use Hamachi and Filezilla ...

After 1 minute, the connection is completely closed in Hamachi. FileZilla try to reconnect. But the internet is still normal ! Only the Hamachi connection is close.

Too many connections ? (requests) With 3.0.x no problems.

I can't view/download files beginning with "." in the remote directory. Quite a bug if you're trying to check if every remote directory has a ".htaccess" file in it or if the path to one of your more secret directoryie (e.g. to the file ".passwd" contains a "."; btw: changing into such a directroy is possible if you know it's name and use the field "Remote site:" to type it's name in.

While using SFTP, filezilla is aware of that the connection is lost between the server and client (timeout i think), but it still tries to send command (when you try to refresh, it sends ls and hangs i.e.)

It should first connect and then send the command.

Every time I download a file, it gets to 100% and then stays there. I have used checksums to verify that the download has completed and then remove the download but when I add a new one it says: "ftpcontrolsocket.cpp(1819): Waiting for replies to skip before sending next command... caller=0p2e53e08" this happens in version 3.3.0.1 on Windows and Linux ( the caller is different under linux)

When I start filezilla (3.0.9.1), I click on the file menu. Just after I click, the new version popup appear. fileZilla hanged. Can't click or close the file menu, and same thing for the new version popup.

I'm using a colour scheme with dark background, which makes black text used in the FileZilla's interface almost invisible. The problem appears in the transfer log and in the uploads list. The tabs at the bottom also mix system colors with white, which makes them quite ugly.

The problem happens both on Windows and Linux, in FileZilla 3.0.8.1.

On OS X, for long the help menu has been duplicated, the content of FileZilla's help menu does not populate the "OS" help menu. Hence there are two "help" menus on the screen.

Moreover, the FileZilla's help menu (where there is the update mechanism) tends not to draw properly after having been used once in the session.

I am currently having a problem whereby hidden files are not being displayed in Filezilla.

With debug switched on, I can see that the hidden files (ie ".htaccess") are being reported by the FTP server, however they are not being shown in the Remote View.

I have also checked "Server" > "Force showing hidden files", but with no effect.

When the option 'Force showing hidden files' (which should be in the View menu btw) is turned off, FileZilla will overwrite hidden files on the server without asking for a confirmation, even when confirmations are set to 'Ask for Action'. If I turn on the option 'Force showing hidden files' FileZilla behaves as expected.

I feel this behaviour is undesirable. Even though the hidden file cannot be seen in the file list, doesn't mean it should be overwritten if it exists.

I am using version 3.2.4 of FileZilla Client.

With the Microsoft policies NoDrives and NoViewOnDrives it is possible to hide a certain drive ad prevent access to it when it is browsed. FileZilla doesn't follow these policies. (tested with 3.1.3.1)

C:\ drive is hidden for the user and when filezilla is launched you won't see the drive on the local site overview. But when you type C:\ in the local site addres bar the c:\ drive is browsable.

On my 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo iMac I get around 70% CPU usage while downloading files with filezilla from a host using explicit TLS. I am not downloading at very high speed, its a home line (3MB/s max.)

When I am just browing on the server there is no significant CPU usage.

After installing newest release, 3.30.0-rc1, when I drag the cursor to select file names in order to drag and transfer them to the remote site, the highlight does not work properly, sending the cursor jumping to different parts of the screen.

we use Filezilla Version 3.3.1 and a generic proxy with socks 5 (dante). the problem is, that the servername will be cut after the 16. character. when we try to connect "emma.tv5paris.org" we get the messages "Could not connect to server" in Filezilla and in the dante-logfile we find "Jan 26 14:48:58 (1264513738) danted[8539]: sockshost2sockaddr(): gethostbyname(emma.tv5paris.or): Unknown host".

Since version 3.9.0.2 (on Mac OS X) FZ automatically actives "Host" input in the upper area of screen. That's disturbing, because I need to select manually files with mouse. In previous versions I just tapped enter and file uploaded. Thanks!

I'm using FileZilla v3.0.7.1 from PortableApps and I don't know if this is a bug or just a cofiguration issue but it's worth mentioning it.

The SiteManager looks as the sites were safe, but they aren't. FileZilla saves the site from SiteManager in a configuration file called sitemanager.xml (a plain text file containgin some xml formatted data).

(In previous versions the sites where contained inside the settings.xml) In FileZilla v2.x the passwords for the sites where encrypted with some sort of algorithm, but as I checked the sitemanager.xml file I discovered that the passwords are saved in plain text. Well this is a very huge security issue as gaining access to the xml will reveal the passwords of the server.

Is this how FileZilla works? Are there future plans to secure the sites stored in the sitemanager.xml file?

This week I started having access problem with my FileZilla where it showed me a network error message (​https://screenshot.net/pt/dn369an). I have checked my server access data several times and they are correct. Check my direct access to the server and they are accessing normally. It only started giving trouble when trying to access via FileZilla.

Filezilla does not connect to my ftp server.

Can anyone tell what's wrong? I'd like to use FileZilla rather than the other methods.

I am using a windows ftp server for uploading my files. I can't able to download files from server to my local machine.

Secondly, back to folders not working properly. In my Remote Site bar always there '\' after the path, it may be more than one in some cases. eg: C:/home/data/\

Hi there, I hope it's not an already treated topic but here's my issue :

I got 2 files on my sftp server I can't download : indexeng.html & indexesp.html.

there's a red message saying : Erreur :/indexen.html: open for read: no such file or directory Erreur :Échec du transfert du fichier

Both files can be upped but not downloaded back.

Is an "e" as 6th type just after "index" chain could be a problem ? Note that I got other files named indexit.html, indexheb.html etc... showing no problem.

Is there a solution someone may give me ?

On IIS 2008 R2, with an SSL connection, with PCI compliant ciphers only, a variety of broken and dropped errors occur.

Server set to PCI compliant ciphers only (RC4 128, 3xDES 168, AES 128, AES 256).

On v3.6.0.2: wont connect at initial start up; server drops the connection with this error: An TLS 1.2 connection request was received from a remote client application, but none of the cipher suites supported by the client application are supported by the server. The SSL connection request has failed. i.e. no matching Cipher.

Note on 3.6.0.2, if we allow the non PCI ciphers, it does connect, but, then fails on upload transfers, with "invalid transfer" message in the log (i don't know which cipher its selected).

On older 3.53; with the AES ciphers in the top of the list, it will connect, but fails the file upload transfer. With RC4 cipher as the first choice (beast ordering), it fails outright and never connects.

Using FileZilla 3.2.4.1 in WinXP(SP3). I'm connecting to site (MVS z/OS) to retrieve a file. This file contains Norwegian characters (Ö,Ü & Ä) being converted to junk values after FTP with FileZilla Client. In DOS scripts, its not changed due to "Quote site SBDATACONN=(IBM277,ISO8859-1)" command. I've tried similar charsets(ISO8859-1,CP1250, windows-1250 etc) in FileZilla but it still fails. Please investigate.

ver 3.1.3 for power pc is having startup issues.

It stops responding for a while then finall starts up. There are no error messages.

Steps to reproduce:

• Run FileZilla
• Connect to an FTP server
• Upload anything (now systray icon appears)
• Exit FileZilla

Ooops... icon in systray stil exists and disappears only after hovering mouse over it. Taskmon shows that FileZilla already unloaded and not running.

It starts after upgrading to 3.65.0 (from 3.64.x I suppose) and still exists on 3.66.1.

In FZ 3.3.3 (and former versions) the icons for "directory listing" and "directory comparing" are inverted.

I am finding that these icons (Open Site Manager, etc.) keep disappearing when moving in and out of the Filezilla windows. They only reappear when I mouse over where they used to be. Is there any way to make them stay visible continuously? Thanks!

When I open the program, the title bar is too far into the mac os program bar, that none of the icons are visible in 16x16 mode, nor is the window able to be moved.

I do not remember which one, but one old version of FileZilla Client came with new fashioned icons (as seen in FileZilla web site). Where they are? When I installed FileZilla Client, I checked to install new icons, but I don't get them. Is this right or there is a bug when updating icons if you have installed a very old version? I tried to uninstall FileZilla completely, deleting all files under c:\program files\FileZilla FTP Client, reboot my PC and installa again; but the old icons remain.

Disclaimer: This is very similar to tickets ​4204 and ​7340, which both got rejected.

I am using IPv4 and IPv6 on my internal network, but I don't have IPv6 internet access (yet). By contrast, www.cisco.com currently has 3 addresses: 2a02:26f0:ca:286::90 2a02:26f0:ca:290::90 23.195.11.243

I can connect to that website, because the web browser (IE/Firefox) realises that the IPv6 address is inaccessible and so it uses IPv4 instead. I think that FileZilla should behave the same way for FTP sites.

As a workaround, I typed in the IPv4 address for ftp.cisco.com (72.163.7.54) and then FileZilla connected successfully.

I have switched to using ftpes with a server I connect to very often. The ftp server has an IP in the 212 range so it is not local, the PORT command is something local but gets an 'Illegal PORT command' as response. Connection is then lost and I need to disconnect and reconnect to proceed.

I was using filezilla to upload some images for my website's background. They are my desktop's wallpaper, and so I thought they would be perfect for my site as well. However, every time I upload any of my wallpaper images, they become corrupt on my server.

I have been able to upload countless other images and files with 0 problems. I cannot fathom what or how these images differ from any other images. I have changed the image type (.jpg to .png), I have tried resizing them to be smaller (from 1920x1080 to 1280x720 and 300x400), to no avail. I have also tried several of my wallpaper images and they all become corrupt on my server using filezilla. I know it is not my server because using my cpanel's upload tool, the images uploaded fine to the same place, with the same other details.

I will attach 2 of my images that corrupt every time I upload.
