#11671 "-a" | "--local" command line options don't work in 3.35.1 Bug report high FileZilla Client fixed
Description

Running the following command: "C:\Program Files\FileZilla FTP Client\filezilla.exe" sftp://[creds]@[site] --local="X:\local path"

In 3.34.0 this opens the remote site and the local directory just fine.

In 3.35.1 this opens the remote site, but defaults the local directory to last used local directory (if I was in "C:\Users\[username]\Desktop\ for example, it would use that) and not the local directory specified on the command line.

#11412 "552 Disk full - please upload later" when transferring files. Other normal FileZilla Client rejected
Description

This is the error I get when trying to edit/transfer files for my website in the FileZilla client: https://imgur.com/a/LKyOY

I read about this on a forum and people said I should submit a ticket for this error.

I'm not sure what the error means or how to fix it so that's why I'm creating this ticket.

If you need it, here's the server address: 31.170.165.111

I hope you can fix this as soon as possible.

#2073 "Always Use" when file exists behavior Feature request normal Other
Description

If I copy files from a local dir to an ftp dir, that already exists , I get the prompt "File Already Exists" and get several options.

If I choose the option "Always Use Action when a file already exists", this has the effect that my choice not only applies to all the other files i choose to copy in the current operation, but also all subsequent copy-operations I initiate during the same connection.

Personally, I would like the "Always" to only apply to the current operation and it's files. But if it is to be remembered for future copy-operations should it not also be remembered across connections?

Perhaps two checkboxes: [] Use this action for all files in this operation [] Always use this action

Or a radio-group (*) Use this action for this file only ( ) Use this action for all files in this operation ( ) Always use this action

#5693 "Always trust certificate in future sessions" doesn't work. Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

The certificate is valid, in that it started one month ago and expires in 20 years time. It's a general certificate for my ISP which allows me to upload files to my domain, so the certificate's common name doesn't match my domain name, and it's a self sigend certificate by my ISP, so it's good that I'm warned about it, but I should be able to trust certificate in future sessions, but ticking the "Always trust certificate in future sessions" box and clicking "OK" has no effect. i.e. The dialog keeps appearing for every file and for every time I log in to the server.

#1172 "Always trust this certificate" not working 2.2.28, 2.2.24 Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

Checking the "always trust this certificate" is not working -- I am prompted every time whether or not to accept the certificate.

Client is FileZilla 2.2.28 (and I reproduced with 2.2.24 also).

Server is FileZilla Server 0.9.19beta

The popup prompt says self-signed certificate (which is true, as I used the FileZilla Server to generate the cert, several versions ago), error at depth 1 in the chain.

#10099 "An invalid index was passed to wxDisplay" assertion failed when overwriting file Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

When I try to overwrite a file (either because I'm uploading a file that already exists on the server, or the other way around), I get the following notification:

An assertion failed! ./src/common/dpycmn.cpp(119): assert "n < GetCount()" failed in wxDisplay(): An invalid index was passed to wxDisplay

(backtrace attached)

After clicking continue (twice), the up/download seems to further work as expected.

I think this was introduced when switching to wxWidgets 3, which was done with FileZilla 3.9.

I am using FileZilla 3.10.0.2 on Arch Linux x86_64, and there is at least one Arch user that has the same problem (report). There is also a report from a Debian user with the same problem, also with FileZilla 3.9.

#8441 "Cancel" button is disabled during transfer, "Toggles processing of the transfer queue" button actually cancels the transfer Bug report normal FileZilla Client rejected

I start a file transfer from remote FTP site to local machine, and during the transfer "Toggles processing of the transfer queue" is enabled and "pushed down", and "Cancels the current operation" button is disabled (see attached screenshot). What I actually expect is "Cancels..." button is enabled and cancels the current/last active transfer.

#5643 "Check For Updates" Does Not Work When There Is A HTTP Proxy Feature request low FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

I have to use a HTTP Proxy to communicate with the Internet; if I stop using the proxy and use a direct connection to the Internet, I cannot access HTTP via my Web browser.

Ever since I have had to use the HTTP Proxy, the "Check For Updates" cannot access the FileZilla information over the internet. Here is a log:

Status: Disconnected from server Status: Downloading /updatecheck.php?platform=i586-pc-mingw32msvc&version=3.3.4.1&osversion=5.1&osarch=32 Status: Resolving address of update.filezilla-project.org Status: Connecting to 62.75.138.232:443... However, when I access the URL "https://62.75.138.232/updatecheck.php?platform=i586-pc-mingw32msvc&version=3.3.4.1&osversion=5.1&osarch=32" from IE, which is using a HTTP proxy, I obtain a respose; here is the response:

Can the "Check For Updates" be modified to use a HTTP Proxy, either using the one configured in IE or one configured separately in FileZilla?

#10610 "Check for Updates" dialog reappears after update Bug report normal FileZilla Client worksforme
Description

On starting the program, the "Check for Updates" dialog box appears asking to update to "3.12.0.2" I click "Install new version" and click yes on the Windows User Account Control dialog to allow the program to install.

The updates install, the program restarts and the "Check for Updates" dialog box does not appear. The version listed is 3.12.0.2 in the About section. The check for updates menu item gives me the dialog box "You are using the latest version of FileZilla."

I select File->Exit to exit. I restart the program and the "Check for Updates" dialog box appears asking to update to "3.12.0.2". I close the dialog and check the about section.

The version is now listed as "3.11.0" and choosing to install the new version restarts the process.

Other information: I have tried manually uninstalling, restarting the computer, downloading a new copy and reinstalling the software with the same result. When opening the program the version listed does not advance past "3.11.0"

I have noticed that the updates will accumulate in the dialog box until I click "Install new version" but after the updates install and I close the program, reopening it will show only the most recent update as still available in the "Check for Updates" dialog.

I did install FileZilla Server 0_9_51 at one point on the same computer but it has since been uninstalled.

With window list disabled i can see part of the close button, but still not the whole dialog.

#4025 "Connection Closed by Server" message Bug report normal FileZilla Server outdated

#7292 "Create file" option in addition to "Create directory" option Feature request normal FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

Please add the option to "Create file," which would insert a blank file on the remote server for editing, which would be more convenient than having to leave FileZilla, create a blank file on the local machine, go back to FileZilla, refresh the local pane, upload the blank file, then delete the local copy of the blank file.

#11786 "Create new file" context menu item produces files with same timestamp Bug report low FileZilla Client fixed
Description

the first file you create after opening FileZilla has the correct timestamp -- any additional files you may create will have the same timestamp as the first file you created. this issue does not apply when directories are created. i first noticed this issue today when a new file i created showed as being several hours old -- at first i thought maybe the server time zone was wrong, or that the FileZilla time zone offset was wrong, but i eventually determined the timestamp was based upon the first created file.

presumably this is due to FileZilla creating a single file and then reusing it, but it seems like a simple way to improve this would be just to "touch" the file to update it's timestamp before uploading it.

#5253 "Create new file" option Feature request normal FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

In practice, create a file on the server is quite annoying, and it's a very common operation.

Would be great to have an option to create a file on the server that creates a temporary file on the local machine with the name specified by the user, upload it to the server and delete it from the local machine. That's what I do by hand so far.

This option can also be useful on the local side.

#3429 "Do you want to overwrite" when transferring lot of files Bug report normal Other
Description

Filezilla 3.0.7.1 on Windows XP Pro SP2. Using FTP with Ubuntu 7.10 ftp server from package "ftpd". Version 0.17-25.

Server identifies itself as: Version 6.5/OpenBSD/Linux-ftpd-0.17

Use case: Transferring about 28000 files and directories from windows pc to linux server. There are about 10GB of files sized 1k-100k and 40GB of 5-20MB.

Total size of transfer about 50GB. Transfer was over 1Gbit local ethernet.

Destination directory was empty when transfer was started. Transfer was initiated by drag'n'dropping source directories into the target directory in FileZilla main window. This was done twice with different source directories.

Using binary mode for all files (forced) and 10 simultaneous transfers.

Problem:

For four times during the transfer I got the "File exists - Do you want to overwrite file" -dialog. In two cases it reported the source and destination files to be of the same size and in two cases the destination file was smaller, as if a previous transfer had aborted for some reason.

This is a problem because the destination directory was empty when transfer was started.

After transfer there was nothing in "Queued transfers" or "Failed transfers" -tabs in Filezilla.

I tried getting the verbose message log from retry of the transfer but I cannot find a way to redirect the log into a file and the message field is nowhere near long enough.

#3587 "Dropping" a file on an area next to a folder Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

Version 3.0.11.1, Win XP

When uploading a file, I drag it from the local folder into the upload folder. If I drop it in a space in the same row as a subfolder in the remote site window, the file goes into that subfolder.

I believe it should go in the current folder as putting it in the subfolder has undesirable consequences - uploading to a folder with lots of subfolders and maybe one file becomes tricky, and its easy to upload files to random subfolders without realising.

#5310 "Empty directory" when not connected Bug report low FileZilla Client fixed
Description

I am running FileZilla 3.3.2.1. I have the default pane layout with "Remote site" on the right hand side. When not connected to a remote site, either after startup or after disconnecting, the status bar (is that the correct word?) under Remote site displays "Empty directory." This text implies that a certain directory is targeted but that it does not contain any file to display. In my view that is incorrect, because there is no directory that this refers to. It would be better if the text read "Nothing to display" or "No files to display".

#4169 "Failed Transfer" bug Bug report normal FileZilla Client rejected
Description

If maximum number of session (set on the server) is exceeded and the client get error "530 Not logged in, too many connection" , the "Queue Items" was wrongly moved to "Failed Transfer Tab" (bug) => The client should maintain the queue until got the connection or get other error message.

There is a 'closed' bug about the same item but the solution is not really fixing the bug: Ticket #3394: "Too many connections" wrongly marked "Failed Transfer" http://trac.filezilla-project.org/ticket/3394

That bug is closed with remark "Increase the number of retries and the reconnect delay in the settings dialog to avoid this problem."

The solution is not really solution because say I increase 3 retries with delay 30s each (total 90s) to 10 retries with 60s delay (total 600s), then after 600s the same thing will happen (not fixing the problem, just delaying the problem)

I use client version 3.2.0 and still see this daily.

Here is how I recreate the problem easily:

  1. Say the server maximum session from the same ip address is 8.
  2. Place on the server a folder with hundreds of file (big and small: 1kb size to 500MB size), say 200 or more files (make sure the transfer will last long enough to observed). I call it "folder A"
  3. Make a second folder "folder B" on server: just copy of 'folder a"
  4. Download "folder A" with OTHER FTP CLIENT. (I use cuteftp 8.3.2) just make sure I use some of the session handler)
  5. Now connect FILEZILA (set delay and retry to minimum) to server and download "folder B"
  6. The "queued files" tab is filled with the file list, but soon enough they are wrongly moved to "Failed Transfer" tab.

This 'bug' is quite annoying because I transfer a big size quite frequently that usually takes 2-3 hours download and unattended. With this bug, after 3 hours I come back to the console only find that some of the files are on "Failed Transfer" tab and have to wait another 1 or 2 hours to complete that transfer. (My current solution of this problem is to use cuteftppro that is not giving me the problem, but as open source fanatic I reckon FileZilla should be able to overcome this small problem - hope this can be solved before the trial period over.. ;-) )

NOTE: the problem is still occurring even only 1 client connect to the server (the above just to exaggerate) - the key is have to be a lot number of file with various mix of size

Thank you for the great product and great job for all the team !

Immediately and without doing anything in the editor, FileZilla starts popping up the message, "A File Previously opened has changed. {filename}. Upload this file back to the Server?"

Clicking the NO button results in the message reappearing immediately.

If I click YES, the file is uploaded back to the server, but the same message reappears moments later.

The only way to permanently clear it is to click the FINISH EDITING AND DELETE checkbox, which is undesirable most times.

Nothing with this file changed in that period of time. I have used this feature heavily with all previous versions going back one year and this never happened previously.

I have to revert back to the previous version in order to use the software. If there is any other information you need, please do not hesitate to ask.

Here is the verbose log:

There are 2 bugs:

  1. There is no Cancel button and pressing [ESC] carries

#11248 "File exists" preferences (resume, overwrite, etc.) are lost on Filezilla update Bug report normal FileZilla Client rejected
Description

Hi,

when I download a file from a server and the file already exists on the client the "file exists" dialog pops up. I check "resume" and I also check "do this everytime / for all queues" (I use the german version so the naming might be a bit different in english).

This works fine for all future file transfers until I update the Filezilla client. After the update my choice of "global resuming" is lost.

Is it working as designed or is it a bug?

#4950 "File has changed" dialogue steals focus Bug report high FileZilla Client rejected
Description

When editing a file, once FileZilla has noticed the file has changed, it pops up it's "file has changed" dialogue which steals focus from my text editor. Needless to say this is extremely annoying. I am running Filezilla 3.2.72 on Ubuntu 9.10, 64-bit.

#1424 "File has changed" does not work Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

Version 3.1.0

There's something wrong with "file changed" detection. When you right click a file (local or remote side), edit and close, it lost the modification or keep showing the "upload this file back to the server" in loop, everytime the window get focus. Sometime it ignores the changes, and sometimes saves the local file wrong or "reload" the lastest version of the file, what is a very dangerous risk.

REQUEST: please consider an option to disable this feature completly (local/remote sync). I really don't like it, it's annoying. Disabled, let the user control if he wants or not sync with the server. Sometimes the user only wants the local file, or remote file, for some reason, without resync.

#3513 "Find as you type" can't handle underscores Bug report normal Other
Description

In the Local and Remote site file lists, there are support for "Find as you type", as in e.g. Windows XP. While this works fine for a-z, it doesn't work for underscores (_).

Reproducible: always

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a folder in the Local site pane that contains at least one file with a name that begins with an underscore (_) and at least another file that doesn't begin with an underscore.
  1. Select any file except the one that begins with an underscore.
  1. Type _ on your keyboard.

Actual results: Windows XP's "Default Beep" sounds, nothing else.

Expected results: the file that is named "_*" is selected.

#10668 "GET" starts even when transfer will fail for sure Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

When destination drive is invalid (missing network drive, maybe also when disk is full), a GET operation still start, and even hammer the FTP server (3 failed attempts in a row).

With a full transfer queue, it provokes a high number of failed transfers (0 bytes), and some servers then report an abnormal number of logs per second.

Obviously, FileZilla do NOT check destination's suitability before starting the transfer. It should check if there is enough space on disk and drive's availability.

HOW TO REPRODUCE:

  • Connect to a FTP server with a lot of files.
  • Connect a network drive.
  • Go to this drive in FileZilla.
  • Enqueue a lot of files.
  • Disconnect network drive: FILEZILLA DO NOT SEE THIS OPERATION.
  • Launch queue: everything fail, server is hammered.
  • Same thing may apply with a full disk (don't have stuff to test it however).

Attached files: In attached log, I've disconnected my "T:\" network drive, which is therefore missing in navigation panel BUT still shown in "Local site" bar. See attached picture.

The server appears to be returning '200 OK' in response to the 'PBSZ 4096' command, but the FileZilla client doesn't appear to be accepting that repsonse.

Windows XP, MIT Kerberos for Windows 2.6b3 installed, valid K5 TGT, FileZilla causes a host/hostname@REALM ticket to be fetched, as expected.

I searched through the sources, but couldn't find any indication of where the 'PBSZ 4096' command was being sent, or where the 'GSSAPI PBSZ failed' message is being returned.

Any help would be appreciated.

Description

When publishing files, I often have to upload a file from one directory in the webroot tree of my development server, to the same folder in the tree of the publish server. It's very annoying having to walk both trees every time. It would be very helpful if, at the toggle of a button, I could navigate both views at the same time, provided that the folders exist. It should be simple to check if there's a folder with the same name in the remote view when you navigate the local tree (and vice-versa) and navigate there as well. A bonus would be if the file you've selected on one of the views would become highlighted on both sides.

#992 "Overwrite if newer" prevents ul retry after transfer error Alexander Schuch Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

Hi,

I'd like to report a bug in Filezilla 2.2.17. The following is happening:

When you upload a number of files to an FTP server that already exist on the server and select "overwrite if newer" and "use this choice for all files" when prompted, any file that does not get uploaded completely (due to a transfer error) will not be uploaded again.

I assume that this is due to the choice of "overwrite if newer" - my suspicion is that when Filezilla tries to upload the file a second time, it checks the timestamp of the (partial) file on the server, discovers that it's more recent than the local timestamp, and then does not upload the file again. This is incorrect behaviour, of course: if a file is uploaded a second time after a transfer error, the timestamp should not be checked again.

#289 "Selected Files" recalculated after every transfer Bug report normal Other
Description

Bear with me, my first ever bug report for any open source project. I looked through the bugs to see if its been posted, but didnt see it, so it may have been.

Problem I found was with large directories (1000+ files). This issue probably isnt present with small directories.

After selecting a large directory of about 2000 files, 20mb total and adding it to the queue, I began my transfer. I clicked my process queue button before clicking of the directory I had selected. At that point, FileZilla recalculated my 'selected files' after every file transfer. Each recalculation took about 10 seconds (which is another bug, FileZilla's EXTREMELY slow file size calculations). After about 3 file transfers it finally crashed. The second time around I made sure to click off the files, and everything transfered fine.

Filezilla also crashes when adding large groups of files to the queue. This particular case I had to add four batches of about 500 files at a time before processing. When trying to add all 2000 at once, the program crashed immediately.

And I get a pop-up that target file exists... but it's displays: Source file: /httpdocs/cn/divisions/seals/arrow01arrow.htm

There's a "/" missing in the Source file.

But when I choose the Overwrite action. The correct file is downloaded onto the harddisk.

This prompt shouldn't be popping up in the first place anyway, since this is a download to a fresh directory. There shouldn't be an existing file in the target location.

#3394 "Too many connections" wrongly marked "Failed Transfer" Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

I set my "Maximum simultaneous transfers" to 8, the max my server can handle. However, for some reason a connection or two has been opened and not closed by Filezilla (probably another bug).

At this point there are 6 existing hung connections, leaving me with 2 that should transfer. However, when I try to transfer a queue of files, two slots are used correctly, and any other files that try to use the other 6 connections get "421 Too many connections (8) from this IP", and are marked as "Failed Transfers". However, this is incorrect; they are not failed, there are simply not enough connections to transfer the files concurrently.

This is the same situation if I then transfer files to another server that only handles 4 simultaneous connections. That means that any files using the 4 connections will succeed, but any that are *attempted* using the other 4 connections will be marked as "Failed Transfer", instead of simply waiting in the queue longer. This means I have to set the "Maximum simultaneous transfers" manually for *every* server I use, and then I have to keep an eye on the Failed Transfers log for any wrongly marked failures.

Ideally, when filezilla gets the "421: too many connections" error while transferring more than one file at a time, it would simply keep that file on the queue and wait for the next available connection. This way a given max connections can be specified (say, 6) and if a server doesn't support that many the situation will be handled gracefully (all files will transfer, the max supported connections will be used) instead of how it is now (some files transfer, some don't).

I have a verbose debug log available, if needed. Thanks!

#3894 "Upload and unedit" does not remove edited file from dialog immediately Bug report low FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Right-click a file, and click "View / Edit".
  2. Open the menu File -> Show files currently being edited...
  3. Click on the file we had selected for editing before, and click "Upload and unedit".

Note that the file remains in the status "Uploading..." and is never removed from the list. If I close the dialog and attempt to re-open it, FileZilla tells me there are no files to edit.

It should instead remove the file from the list, and, if I shouldn't have the dialog open when there are no more files to edit, it should pop the same alert as when I tried to open the dialog when no files were being edited.

I set this to low priority because FileZilla does not crash, and it's hard, if not impossible, to actually crash it through this bug. I also set it to Windows, but it may apply to other operating systems as well.

#2812 "Upload to same folder" command. Feature request normal Other
Description

It would be great if I could pick a file in the local view, and then automatically upload it to it's respective folder in the remote tree (and vice-versa). So if you're looking at, say, /www/sub/dir/files/index.html in the local view, and /www/sub/ in the remote view, and you hit "Upload to same folder", it will still upload to /www/sub/dir/files/index.html in the remote folder, and not into the folder you're looking at.

Obviously for that you'd need to know which folder is the local "root" of the remote folder, but you already have that option under "Default Local Directory" and a "Default Remote Directory" as a per-site option. This option could become available when you're connected to a site where this is defined, and you're somewhere inside the folder tree of your defined local root. The same could work backwards, clicking "Download to same folder" on the remote view would place the file in the same folder in the tree defined by your local root folder.

#807 "Use multiple connections"-setting Alexander Schuch Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

If you remove the hook in the menu "Queue"->"Use multiple connections" and enter the settings menu after it "Edit"->"Settings..."->"File transfere settings" the hook at "Use multiple connections to transfere files" is still there. If you click "ok" now, the hook in the menu will also be there again and the programm will use 2 connections again.

#12959 "User is enabled" unticked - and the XML file proves - but user can still login Bug report normal FileZilla Server invalid
Description

I just wanted to disable an user to login in our FTP server. I've even checked the XML file if the user is set to "disabled". It is, but this configuration seems to be ignored. I've restarted the FTP server and the FileZilla Server service but I see on the interface and in the logs, that the user can still login.

Is that maybe a bug?

Best regards

#1511 "Users" table in "Users" window correction. Patch normal FileZilla Server
Description

"Users" table in "Users" window has been moved at left side from all. Remaining stuff moved by 93 pixels to the right. Button "OK" moved few pixel higher, that be on higher distance from the button "Cancel". Users list table maked bigger height. Help strings are maked shorter, sorry, that was possible to avoid, but better by another patch ...

#1513 "Users" table in "Users" window, version 1 Patch normal Other
Description

Same as before.

Buttons OK, Cancel are moved to empty place. Tab "Users" maked full height of dialog box (some users may fill it full easy, I think).

#3781 "View/Edit" feature does not work when remote filename is longer than set number of characters Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

Sample remote filename (masked): XX_X_XXXXX_X_XXXXX_XXXXXX_XXX_XXXX.XXXXXX_xxxxxx.xxxxx_xxxxxx_xxx_xxx.20080917_113015.txt

These are log files generated by scripts that run on a remote server

At first I thought it had to do with the 255 character filename limit that one sometimes runs into but, when I tried to open the file from the temp directory using the exact same editor, it worked.

#11769 "Watch locally edited files" feature does not update its link when the remote server is changed Bug report normal FileZilla Client rejected
Description

When the Watch locally edited files and prompt to upload modifications feature is turned on, it does not update its links when the remote server is changed. This may lead to overwriting a wrong remote file.

Consider the following scenario:

  1. Connect to server A.
  2. Download file X from server A to a local folder.
  3. Edit the file X (right-click it in the local folder and select Edit).
  4. Do some edits, save the file, close the editor and return to FileZilla.
  5. You are prompted to upload modified file back to remote server A (so far so good).
  6. Select ‘No’ to close the prompt.
  7. Connect to server B.
  8. Download file X from the server B to the same local folder as in step 2.
  9. Open the new file X in your editor.
  10. Do some edits, save the file, close the editor and return to FileZilla.
  11. Now, you are prompted to upload modified file X back to remote server A!

That is wrong because the file was downloaded from server B and should be uploaded there. If you do not read the prompt carefully, you can easily overwrite the file at the wrong remote server. FileZilla should update its internal link when the monitored file is downloaded from a different location.

#3588 "ask for action" setting doesn't behave as expected Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

Version 3.0.11.1 , Win XP, Fresh install.

After install, I was asked for confirmation for all uploads. Once I was uploading a bunch of files, so after one confirmation, I've clicked the "always do this" action.

Now it does this for all uploads - transfers without confirmation - even though I've selected in the Transfer settings "Ask for action" for both uploads and downloads.

#928 "critical error" and retries Alexander Schuch Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

2.2.14b (in process of upgrading to 2.2.15)

It seems that the client stops downloading when it sees a "critical error" (where for "transfer errors it does the retries as specified).

It seems that retries should also apply to "critical errors" (the file was transferring although with timeouts, than it received the critical error), or maybe a separate" retries for critical errors flag could be introduced?

Thanks

#1921 "favorite" directories Feature request normal Other
Description

It would be nice to have a favorite directories drop- down somewhere on the local side. Not really necessary for remote side, IMO. It would be nice to have global favorites and favorites per site in the manager as well. Maybe add it to the right-click context menu on the local side... "Add to favorites" or something.

#98 "file exists" dialog shows wrong info Bug report normal Other
Description

When you want to upload a file overwriting an old version, the usual dialog appears, asking what you want to do (overwrite, skip, etc.). Starting from FileZilla 1.9.2, this dialog does not show the correct info about the files, it only shows some dates, while it did show the file sizes before (which is surely useful).

#9293 "filter IN items matching all of the following" Feature request high FileZilla Client fixed
Description

There is currently no way to filter IN items passing the specified test. For example, right now I need to see only file names that (1) contain ".dsc" and (2) end in ".jpg". There is no way to do this.

A quick and dirty enhancement would be to add a checkbox that, when checked, causes the filter to INclude rather than EXclude.

I've marked this "high" priority on the presumption that this would be easy to do and would significantly improve the usefulness of filtering by making all boolean operations possible. From a boolean algebra point of view, the current filtering options are logically incomplete.

#8390 "new filter" button renames filter instead of creating a new one. Bug report normal FileZilla Client outdated
Description

BUG: Pressing "New" button in "Edit filters" panel, while a filter is highlighted, renames the filter.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: Pressing the "New" button in "Edit filters" panel should create a new filter, instead of renaming the existing one.

DESCRIPTION:

  • Create a new filter and name it.
  • Select it in the chooser to the right so that it is highlighted.
  • Now, click on the "New" button (located just below the chooser).
  • Instead of creating a new filter, FileZilla renames the existing, previously selected filter.

#6515 "open"/"edit" commands on local file does not launch the right application Bug report high FileZilla Client outdated
Description

When I double-click (or choose "open") on a ".doc" file in Windows explorer, it opens in MS Word.

In Filezilla, if I choose "open" or "edit" on the same (local) file it opens Wordpad. Wordpad it the second application in my "open with..." menu.

The same happens with other extentions: source code which opens with notepad, etc.

FileZilla should use the default/first application associated with the "open" action.

Description

Just play with my routes, and randomly type this command in command-line: route -f

So, after that Admin console can't connect to server, course suppose server can't bind address 127.0.0.1 for admin port :)

Just for info, not a bug or feature request ..

I only need to reboot after that course don't know how to restore interface 127.0.0.1 ..

Thanks a lot for a good FTP-server i use it about on 10 servers ..

#3991 "synchronization" of folders Feature request normal FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

Hello,

RemoteListView -> OnContextMenu There "Sync Folder"

This function will download everything from the remote folder to local, and check remote folder every several minutes if there are any new files.

"Sync Folder" -> OnClick -> DialogBox with settings like

  • check every N minutes
  • delete remote files after downloading

It would probably have to create some database file in local folder to keep track of files already downloaded, so this way they can be moved from the local folder anytime.

I hope you understand what I mean, Such feature doesn't exist in any ftp client that I've checked

Thank you very much !

#1689 # files to transfer: give range Feature request normal FileZilla Client
Description

Hi,

When you set the number of connections, the legal value is apparently 1-10. However, you can enter up to 99 in the field. Entering 11 or more silently drops it back to 2, but exits the menu.

Could you perhaps make a list button of 1 to 10, or stop and complain if someone enters 11 or greater (or just allow more threads? Though I don't know if more, especially not 99, makes sense).

Thanks for this awesome piece of software I discovered two days ago!
