#9403 Retina support closed Patch normal FileZilla Client
Description

This patch simply updates the plist file to enable retina. This greatly improves the display, since most controls automatically get retina rendering: only the 'custom' controls remain upscalled (tab control, download progress).

#9405 Change permission doesn't work on symlink new Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

Hi, i'm using filezilla to transfer files from windows 7 to ubuntu 12.. since filezilla doesn't support auto-change permission during transfer (it's requested several times in the forums) I have to manually change the permission to 755 everytime i'm done transferring files.. Problem is i have several hdd's in my ubuntu server.. And the destination folder has several symlinks connected to different HDD's... e.g :

A

  • B
  • C
  • D (symlink to other HDD)

When i change properties of A recursively to 755, only B and C follow it. D remains unchanged..

I hope this can be changed.. It's rather troublesome to change all permissions when you have multiple HDD Or please implement auto change permission after transfer.. (I was going to request this but the forum rejects yahoo and gmail, so i couldn't register) Thanks

#9406 Rearrange/Organise Tabs closed Feature request normal FileZilla Client
Description

The ability to rearrange and organize tabs would be very useful. I like to open several FTP connections to several load balanced servers simultaneously with identical folder structures, for instance:

ServerA --model --view --controller ServerB --model --view --controller ServerC --model --view --controller

It would be good if I could drag tabs to organise all models to be next to each other without having to close and reopen.

#9411 Mousewheel scroll should scroll window when hovering over it new Feature request normal FileZilla Client
Description

When I hover with the mouse over the folder structure or file overview in either local or remote site window and I scroll the mousewheel, it would be great if it the area over which I hover would scroll. So WITHOUT me first having to click an item in the window or the scrollbar of that window in which I'd like to scroll. This would save me a lot of clicks! :)

And keep up the good work of this awesome program!

#9412 Site manager (with 5 sites) throws error for FTP login but Quick Connect does not closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

Hi,

When using the site manager to connect to a site it throws up this error:

Status:	Resolving address of web1213.ixwebhosting.com
Status:	Connecting to 74.91.250.2:21...
Status:	Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220 ProFTPD 1.3.3g Server (74.91.250.2) [74.91.250.2]
Command: USER xxxxxxxx
Response: 331 Password required for xxxxxxxx
Command: PASS *********
Response: 530 Login incorrect.
Error:	Critical error
Error:	Could not connect to server

(I have redacted the account number but they are both the same in the place where I put the xxxxxxx.)

But when using the Quick Connect bar with exactly the same information it connects OK as seen here:

Status:	Resolving address of web1213.ixwebhosting.com
Status:	Connecting to 74.91.250.2:21...
Status:	Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220 ProFTPD 1.3.3g Server (74.91.250.2) [74.91.250.2]
Command: USER xxxxxxx
Response: 331 Password required for xxxxxxx
Command: PASS *********
Response: 230 User xxxxxxx logged in
Status:	Server does not support non-ASCII characters.
Status:	Connected
Status:	Retrieving directory listing...
Command: PWD
Response: 257 "/" is the current directory
Status:	Directory listing successful

The error occurs ONLY with one particular site - the last one that I added (the 5th one). The other 4 sites connect from the Site Manager without any problems.

The protocol I am using for all my sites (including the problem site) is FTP - File Transfer Protocol. Encryption is Use plain FTP (same for all sites). Logon Type for all sites is Normal. User and password boxes are filled out with correct data.

I am using the newest version, 3.8.0, and it is doing this same error as the older version I had (I don't remember the previous version).

#9418 Edited file uploaded to previously edited file's directory new Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

Let's assume the following common situation, two folders having two different files' content but having the same filename: ./folder1/.htaccess ./folder2/.htaccess

Steps to reproduce the bug:

  1. Retrieve ./folder1/.htaccess with FileZilla
  2. Edit the file
  3. Retrieve ./folder2/.htaccess and erase previous file
  4. Edit the file and confirm uploading back the file to the server

Result: the last file edited (from ./folder2/.htaccess) will unfortunately erase ./folder1/.htaccess and not the right one.

Ticket #3772 is the closest ticket found in the tracker, even if it cannot be considered the same thing. Bug discovered in FileZilla 3.8.0.

#9419 Support the XDG basedir spec closed Bug report normal Unknown
Description

Hi,

Filezilla should support the XDG basedir spec [1] under *nix. This means using the variables defined there for storing config files, data files and cache files. It would be nice for a good desktop integration under X (Linux) to follow these specs.

For instance, I'm a GNOME user and almost all GNOME apps do support it today [2]

Thanks !

#9423 All my passwords were deleted for no reason closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

FileZilla turned off the storing of passwords (including ticking the box in settings) which led to me losing all my passwords.

This is what I did:

  1. Use the Site manager as usual.
  2. Connected to site A. Downloaded some files.
  3. Connected to site B, choosed to not use a new tab for the new connection.
  4. Downed and upped some files.
  5. Opened Site manager and renamed one item (site C) in the list on the left.
  6. Tried to connect to site D, was asked to enter password - soon realized all my passwords were gone.

When googling I found this forum thread (https://forum.filezilla-project.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=29878&start=15&sid=35e6379be2d519696199a78e6d9dbf14). The same thing happened to me as to the people in the thread. But I did not today and haven't for weeks used the quick connect toolbar.

I realize this is not enough information for anything. And my simple attempt to recreate the problem resulted in nothing. I'm putting this here in hope someone else who is affected by this problem has more information.

My installation of FileZilla is from regular FileZilla update, I don't think there was one very recently.

#9425 Update to New Version should not delete all QuickConnects closed Feature request normal FileZilla Client
Description

When updating to a new version, Filezilla loses all the Quickconnect information. The purpose of Filezilla is to make it convenient to upload files to websites, including not having to look up all this stuff every time. And the more you use Filezilla, the more you tend to forget all these connect details. Until a new version of Filezilla is releases, and you update to it -- then all that information is lost, and you have to look it all up again! Very inconvenient for your users -- almost makes it not worth upgrading to the new release.

At the very least, add some way to view the Quickconnect info, so we could at least print it out before upgrading to a new release, then type it all in once again after the upgrade deletes it all.

#9427 Error:GnuTLS error -16: A TLS warning alert has been received closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client

This issue is coming only in new FileZilla 3.8.0 version. With Older version 3.7*, it works fine.

#9428 time shift when send/receive files from remote server closed me Feature request normal FileZilla Client
Description

Internet plans (like mine) have sometimes different capacities in different hours of the day and night. Would it be possible to set the time to start for downloading/sending files from/to remote server at a certain time? For instance, I have a limit of my LTE connection for 35 GB a month plus another 50 GB between 1 a.m. to 7.a.m. As a journalist and a photographer I have to send pretty big graphic files to my editor, so with my internet plan it would be more convenience to set a time shift in sending these files during the night time.... #9438 invalid GnuTLS ciphers string for GnuTLS < 2.11.5 closed Patch normal FileZilla Client
Description

FileZilla supports GnuTLS versions 2.8.3 and later.

However, in src/engine/tlssocket.cpp, the following code appears:

#if GNUTLS_VERSION_NUMBER >= 0x030100
char const ciphers[] = "SECURE256:+SECURE128:+ARCFOUR-128:-3DES-CBC:-MD5:+SIGN-ALL:-SIGN-RSA-MD5:+CTYPE-X509:-CTYPE-OPENPGP";
#else
// Versions before 3.1.0 cannot combine level keywords
char const ciphers[] = "SECURE128:+ARCFOUR-128:-3DES-CBC:-MD5:+SIGN-ALL:-SIGN-RSA-MD5:+CTYPE-X509:-CTYPE-OPENPGP";
#endif

But this is wrong, because SIGN-ALL wasn't added to GnuTLS until version 2.11.5. From the GnuTLS NEWS file:

* Version 2.11.5 (released 2010-12-01)

** libgnutls: Reverted default behavior for verification and
introduced GNUTLS_VERIFY_DO_NOT_ALLOW_X509_V1_CA_CRT. Thus by default
V1 trusted CAs are allowed, unless the new flag is specified.

** libgnutls: Correctly add leading zero to PKCS #8 encoded DSA key.
Reported by Jeffrey Walton.

** libgnutls: Added SIGN-ALL, CTYPE-ALL, COMP-ALL, and VERS-TLS-ALL
as priority strings. Those allow to set all the supported algorithms
at once.

Because of this bug, FTPS support is broken on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, which is a very common Linux distribution.

I created the attached patch. I've tested the patch locally, and verified that FileZilla can now properly make TLS-enabled FTP connections on RHEL6. Could you please apply it?

One caveat: you should verify that my selection of signature algorithms is reasonable.

Thanks!

#9441 Latest GnuTLS breaks compatibility with a number of servers closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

As of v3.8 FileZilla is not able to connect over SSL/TLS to a number of FTP servers; Tested against ZFTP Server and Syncplify.me Server, maybe there are others. Older versions of FileZilla Client work perfectly. Servers have not been updated, therefore it must have been something in the FileZilla Client 3.8 update.

#9443 Need To log On twice closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

When logging into my work server I need to log in twice. The first time it always hangs at the:- "command Type 1" When logging in again it gives me the option of cancelling the current log in and retrying. When I select this it then completes the log in and it works fine. This fault has been apparent since an Filezilla upgrade some months back.

#9450 intermittent timeouts using active mode in Version 3.8.0 new Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

When we browse through different folder structures on different servers with FileZilla 3.8.0 using the active mode, we get intermittent timeouts after the LIST or MLSD command.

This is an example output from FileZilla, when the error occurs Befehl: LIST Antwort: 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for file list Fehler: Zeitüberschreitung der Verbindung Fehler: Verzeichnisinhalt konnte nicht empfangen werden

We can reproduce this behaviour with different Windows workstations using FileZilla V.3.8.0 . One workstation did not get such errors using FileZilla V.3.7.4.1. After an update to the latest version, this pc also get these errors.

We also examined, that neither our firewall nor our FTP servers are responsible for this behaviour. A traffic capture shows, that the server answers the request and the workstation receives this answer. Then the connection is closed with FIN, ACK from from the server and ACK from the workstation. We can provide such a dump, if it is necessary.

#9452 can't maintain connection, duplicate connections? closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

I've made no changes to FileZilla. PC is clean of viruses/malware per a full scan. Trying to download current website content in prep for monthly updates. Filezilla pauses then restarts, but after a few iterations of this gives the error message: "421 Too many connections (8) from this IP"

The full listing is:

Waiting to retry... Resolving address if hbartleague.org Connecting to 74.124.197.191.21... Connection established, waiting for welcome message... 421 Too many connections (8) from this IP Could not connect to server

My host checked on their end, and noted that if their server wasn't clearing connection, it'd crash soon. Kinda makes sense.

Their only suggestion was to reinstall FileZilla, suggesting that a config file has become corrupted. Is this my only option?

#9454 Target File Shows 0 bytes closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

I am using the most current Filezilla version. I transferred the file 1harry.html onto my Website http://www.igs.net/~awhp. The file 1harry.html shows 1,190 as the file size from my computer files and 0 when I upload it to the site. I double click on 1harry.html to upload and get the window twice "Target file already exists," with action as "Overwrite" since I'm attempting to upload an updated version of 1harry.html. The transfer starts at Queued Files, looks like it's transferring with the numbers increasing. The message at the bottom says,"Failed transfers(1) and the message "Could not start transfer." Before, the upload would say successful but show the new file size as 0. I have checked the forums and attempted all the recommendations listed but without success. This issue has been ongoing for three weeks.

#9457 Make Dialogue Boxes Copy-able new Feature request normal FileZilla Client
Description

I've noticed that dialogue boxes in FileZilla behaves non-standardly on Windows. Standard Windows dialogue boxes can be copied in plaintext by pressing ctrl+c with the box in focus. Doing this on a FileZilla dialogue does not copy the text.

Specifically, I attempted to do this on the verify SSH fingerprint dialogue. It looks like this https://i.imgur.com/PnQ2EnL.jpg (Just a Googled image - to illustrate the component I'm referring to).

Expected behaviour is that I can then paste the plaintext content of the dialogue into notepad, after which I can compare the fingerprint with one that I've been provided with before hand.

Actual behaviour is that it does not copy, meaning I have to manually read the fingerprint and compare it manually - leaves room for error.

The request is that dialogue boxes should behave standardly so that their contents may be copied.

Alternatively, the SSH fingerprint should be displayed in a non-editable text-box that can be copied in order to facilitate fingerprint verification.

My system: Windows 8.1 Update 1 x64, FZ 3.8.0

#9468 encrypt websites data, irrespective of application password closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

Five years ago (Ticket #4565) this request was rejected, with the conclusion "On a secured computer plain text passwords are secure".

There is no such thing as a secured computer, and recent events prove this without doubt.

If you trust your door lock, then you may conclude that you dont need to lock drawers, but in reality you do: you are protecting at different levels; you may want your kid not to have access to the drawer but you still give him a key to your house. The drawer lock may not be foolproof, but it does deter from prying.

Website data needs a drawer-level security.

Stating that "A (security) chain is only as strong as its weakest link" does not mean that making things more difficult to an intruder is useless.

I wish the developers take a different stand on this issue. Until then, I will replace FileZilla with a client more respectful of this point of view.

Bye FileZilla.

#9510 Cannot Connect Windows 8.1 closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

Critical error, could not connect to server

is what I get when I try to connect. I spent hours on the phone with tech support trying to resolve the issue, seems like it's the Windows 8.1 firewall. But I have no idea how to fix the problem. I searched the forums and old tickets here too. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.

Thank you very much.

#9511 Open URL: change Quickconnect label "Host:" to "Host/URL:", make "Remote site:" accept URL, add "File -> Open URL" cmd new Feature request normal FileZilla Client
Description

[Cheers guys! In case this may look like a feature request: it's actually not. It's about a usability issue of an *existing* feature, so not requesting any new functionality, even though a) the fix is purely usability-related, b) it's just a nuisance, c) it may imply adding new code. (To start in the DMZ, I just create this as "Other"... :) Thanks!]

Sequence of actions (I'm nobody special, so there may be others stumbling this way):

  1. mc's ftpfs stuck again for timeout, uninterruptible. Sigh, time to divorce...
  1. apt-get install filezilla [3.8.0]
  1. Launch filezilla. [May have never used it before, or too long ago to remember; the point being: "entry-level" UI interaction.]
  1. Copy my relevant mc entry (a fully formed FTP URL, from the "hotlist" file) to Clipboard.
  1. Swith to FileZilla, find a place to paste the Clipboard cargo... Quickconnect seems tempting, but no URL field apparently there (only the well-known, familiar, classic H/U/P/... inputs). [Hmm.]
  1. There's a "Local site:", and "Remote site:" bar, below, though. "Remote site:" reads *exactly* what I'd need to paste my URL to, but it's unfortunately disabled. (And then it also appears (from subliminal clues of the overall GUI design) that it may not be meant for that anyway.) [Hmmmm...]
  1. Open the "File" menu: no "Open..." or "Open URL" [Hmmm?!]
  1. Well, then maybe "Site Manager"... [But I don't want to manage a site.] No, that seems to be designed to support URLs even less.
  1. Perhaps FileZilla doesn't even support URLs?! No, that can't possibly be true, let me double-check... Google: "filezilla url". From the results (e.g. FR #8466), I can see that support is there. [Relief #1.]
  1. Back to the FileZilla UI. So there *must* be a place to dump that itching URL. And it's hinted to be related to Quickconnect (by fragments in the Google search result summary lines), as one would anyway initially think. Perhaps the "host" field then (short of any better)? Let's try at least... Paste, then "Quickconnect"... Wow, bingo! [Relief #2.]

NOTE: I did see the nice, detailed explanation in the tooltip - but *only after* going through through all the above. Experienced users tend not to stand still hovering enough over a field for a (slowish) tooltip to appear. My type of users don't even use the mouse that much (so, little chance for a tooltip at all).

Fixes recommended:

a) Just change the "Host" label to "Host or URL" (or "Host/URL" if you also consider it an "internationally familiar" way of putting it).

Quick, easy, cheap. With the "Host/URL" form some very inexperienced users may get confused though. But these type of users will likely hit the tooltip. Or just put the less cool but more clear "Host or URL".

b) Change the "Local site:" / "Remote site:" controls. (Their *values* are not "sites" currently anyway, but *dir paths*.)

Either:

  1. Implement (a) and rename them to "Local path:" / "Remote path:" (or "...dir") accordingly, to remove confusion.

Or:

  1. Ignore (a) and
    • change the label "Local site:" to "Local path:" (keeping in mind that it's actually a relative local *URL*!), and
    • change the behavior of "Remote site:" to as of the "Host" field of Quickconnect, i.e. to accept URLs, plus (re)connect on non-relative URLs. (Also keep it enabled, not only when connected.) This (2) would be a good, intuitive solution (a step closer to the universal two-panel file manager scheme), but may probably also trigger rethinking the Quickconnect UI concept, screen layout etc., so it's not "free".

c) Add an "Open URL" command to the File menu, to do exactly the same as Quickconnect with an URL supplied in the "Host" field.

(With just a *simple* one-field popup, even if that may not feel like a perfect fit with the current "one-omnipotent-window" design. This slight redundancy may still be better than the immediate impression of a missing feature, or a missing natural path to an existing (and possibly very common) feature.)

[Thanks a lot for your patience, and all the best to you there, thanks again! Where can I send the bill of $100 for the analysis please? ;) ]

#9517 Filezilla client repeated crashing while uploading closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

When running the latest 3.8 version, Filezilla client repeatedly crashes. Typically I'll select a bunch of folders containing files to upload (to an FTP system running Filezilla server on Windows 2008 R2) and after a few dozen files, I get the windows popup:

FileZilla FTP Client has stopped working - a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.'.

I've also noticed at times it seems to hang more while connecting to a folder to display contents, with the log panel text indicating it's waiting for the connection.

Downloading files does not seem to cause the same problems; I recently downloaded a load of files from one place without incident, but on uploading them to another destination, encountered repeated problems.

I have tried setting the program to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode, and also to run as Admin (in case was in some way related to permissions) but neither helps.

Here is what gets logged in event viewer:

#9544 Deleting directories with more than XXXX files closed Feature request normal FileZilla Client
Description

Current implementation of recursive directories delete does not allow for over-populated directories (i.e. directories containing more files than the server's listing output limit).

Proposed solution: implement a 'thorough delete' right-click command on directories which would: 1) execute a delete as currently implemented 2) check whether rmdir command was successful 3) if not, go back to step 1

#9548 F1 F12 buttons on laptops closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

Hi There,

I have recently bought a new laptop, and having been a long time user of FileZilla I have noticed a problem. When using other programs such as chrome - the F1-F12 buttons work as usual (F5 Refreshes the page, f2 to edit etc), however in FileZilla they default to the laptop keys (such as brightness and volume).

I hope this makes sense.

#9550 Repeated failure to transfer a certain file closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

I just encountered an error where FileZilla repeatedly tries to transfer a file but it says it fails. I only noticed the problem on a handful of files.

The ftp server is pure-ftpd 1.0.36-1.1 running on Debian.

Here is a debug log from Filezilla where it attempts to get the file. I can provide more logs (from pure-ftpd as well) if needed.

#9551 3.8.1-rc3 does not auto update to new nightly builds closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

If I set FileZilla 3.8.0 to search for new nightly builds it correctly suggests the build 2014-05-29.

Now I have installed FileZilla 3.8.1-rc3. If I choose to search for nightly builds it says I have the latest version.

I have had a look at filezilla.xml. It seems FilleZilla got the correct info from update server.

#9552 Error message is shown during upgrade when files could not be removed closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

During upgrade from 3.8.1-rc2 to rc3 I got the attached error message. The same message appears for libstdc++-6.dll and libwinpthread-1.dll.

Apparently, the files are in use by Windows Explorer.

If I uninstall FileZilla manually it says that a reboot is required to complete the uninstall.

Maybe the upgrade process should consider whether the uninstall requires a reboot?

#9555 FileZilla Closes Abruptly, If not updated closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

I am Using Windows XP SP3 & my FileZilla Client Version is 3.8.0.

Today I opened my Filezilla to access my FTP Site & received an update for version 3.8.1, and I clicked 'Install New Version'

The FileZilla got closed abruplty, i lost my FTP Connection and instead it showed a dialog-box saying 'Unsupported operating system Filezilla requires atleast Windows Vista and may not work correctly on your system. Do you really want to continue with the installation?' I pressed 'No', and found that FileZilla was still Closed.

I understand that my OS(Windows XP) is not supported by the update, but Filezilla should not close abruptly, irrespective of whether I chose to Update it or not Update it.

#9561 Pause Downloading Specific Files closed Feature request normal FileZilla Client

In FileZilla there is an option to pause downloading files by clicking on process queue, but it stops all files to be downloaded.

Is it possible to stop just a single file while downloading?

It is oftenly required when we're downloading a lot of files of large sizes and for some duration want to use internet bandwidth for another purpose than downloading multiple files at a time.

Is there a setting or a way multiple users can concurrentky use this client ?

#9568 File exists action: Option to rename existing file, if duplicate uploaded new Feature request normal FileZilla Client
Description

Hi there at Filezilla,

it would be nice to have an option to rename the existing file rather then the one being uploaded in the "File exists action" preferences.

Use case: I upload a modified .php file, but would like to keep the old version of that file for reference/backup.

At the moment to do this I have to rename the existing file by hand, which is rather tedious. Maybe the overwritten file could be named existing file name + the time and date when it was overwritten. Otherwise I guess just .backup or whatever will do. Thanks, Sascha

Hi again, it would be a nice feature to be able to add a custom tab name for each connection, rather than having the auto generated ones.

So basically there would be another field in the Site Manager generals tab, that would you let input a 'tab name' that is then displayed in the tab of that particular connection. S

Please add a way to apply this action to the whole operation (i.e. the whole download operation) therefore it can be left to download the site in the background.

#9582 FileZilla "hardcodes" inclusion of GTK2 even when wxWidgets use GTK3 closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

I have wxGTK 3.0.1 installed (I'm using OS X 10.7, but I'm almost sure that this isn't OSX-specific and could be reproduced on Linux; I didn't try though).

$ wx-config --cxxflags
-I/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/lib/wx/include/gtk3-unicode-3.0 -I/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/include/wx-3.0 -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DWXUSINGDLL -D__WXGTK__

$ wx-config --libs
-L/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/lib -framework IOKit -framework CoreServices -framework System -framework ApplicationServices -lwx_gtk3u_xrc-3.0 -lwx_gtk3u_webview-3.0 -lwx_gtk3u_html-3.0 -lwx_gtk3u_qa-3.0 -lwx_gtk3u_adv-3.0 -lwx_gtk3u_core-3.0 -lwx_baseu_xml-3.0 -lwx_baseu_net-3.0 -lwx_baseu-3.0

The problem is that FileZilla's configure hardcodes inclusion of GTK 2 headers:

  if echo "$WX_CPPFLAGS" | grep __WXGTK__ > /dev/null 2>&1; then

    AC_PATH_PROG(xdgopen, xdg-open)
    if test -z "$xdgopen"; then
AC_MSG_ERROR([xdg-open not found. This program is the preferred way to launch the default browser. Please install the xdg-utils.])
    fi

    PKG_CHECK_MODULES(LIBGTK, gtk+-2.0,, [
AC_MSG_ERROR([gtk+-2.0 was not found, even though the used version of wxWidgets depends on it. Are you missing the gtk+2.0 development files?])
    ])

    AC_SUBST(LIBGTK_LIBS)
    AC_SUBST(LIBGTK_CFLAGS)
  fi

and this fails to work:

/usr/bin/clang++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../../src/include  -I./../include -I/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/lib/wx/include/gtk3-unicode-3.0 -I/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/include/wx-3.0 -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DWXUSINGDLL -D__WXGTK__ -I/opt/local/include  -D_REENTRANT -I/opt/local/include/gtk-2.0 -I/opt/local/lib/gtk-2.0/include -I/opt/local/include/pango-1.0 -I/opt/local/include/gio-unix-2.0/ -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include/cairo -I/opt/local/include/atk-1.0 -I/opt/local/include/cairo -I/opt/local/include/pixman-1 -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include/gdk-pixbuf-2.0 -I/opt/local/include/libpng16 -I/opt/local/include/pango-1.0 -I/opt/local/include/harfbuzz -I/opt/local/include/pango-1.0 -I/opt/local/include/glib-2.0 -I/opt/local/lib/glib-2.0/include -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include/freetype2 -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include/freetype2 -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include/libpng16  -I/opt/local/include -fpch-preprocess -I/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/lib/wx/include/gtk3-unicode-3.0 -I/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/include/wx-3.0 -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DWXUSINGDLL -D__WXGTK__ -pipe -Os -arch x86_64 -stdlib=libstdc++ -Wall -g -fexceptions -std=gnu++11 -MT filezilla-filelist_statusbar.o -MD -MP -MF .deps/filezilla-filelist_statusbar.Tpo -c -o filezilla-filelist_statusbar.o `test -f 'filelist_statusbar.cpp' || echo './'`filelist_statusbar.cpp

This isn't a showstopper on Mac where users can (and should) use the native Cocoa user interface (but one shouldn't assume that GTK always means Linux though). We provide wxGTK 2.8 as a fallback for programs that require wxWidgets 2.8. In this case I wanted to provide a wxGTK 3.0 fallback because some functionality in the Cocoa inteface isn't working properly yet on Mac.

But I'm afraid that this would be a problem on other OSes as well.

#9583 Make an app bundle also when GTK is used on Mac new Feature request normal FileZilla Client
Description

Users of MacPorts asked for a bundled app of FileZilla (FileZilla.app) in addition to command-line binaries also when wxGTK is used.

There is currently

  # Create application bundle on OS X
if echo $WX_CPPFLAGS | grep __WXMAC__; then
    macappbundle="yes"
  else
    macappbundle="no"
  fi

but this doesn't build the bundle when wxGTK is used.

I'm aware that this is a slightly weird request (most users would probably use Cocoa anyway), but in case that it is easy enough for you to add an option to the building scripts to make a bundle also when GTK is used, we would be grateful.

I can help with testing. (It would probably make most sense if making an app would be a configure-time option or a make target – even better as that wouldn't require reconfiguring everything.)

Otherwise assembling the bundle manually takes a bit of effort.

After several years of satisfaction of an excellent product, I found the following issue in the last version: It makes Windows explorer crash when clicking right button (Win 7 32 bit) , with the following result (from event log): --- Nombre de la aplicación con errores: Explorer.EXE, versión: 6.1.7601.17567, marca de tiempo: 0x4d6727a7 Nombre del módulo con errores: ntdll.dll, versión: 6.1.7601.18247, marca de tiempo: 0x521ea91c Código de excepción: 0xc0000005 Desplazamiento de errores: 0x0001f9e2 Id. del proceso con errores: 0xbdc Hora de inicio de la aplicación con errores: 0x01cf8cac208c6a5f Ruta de acceso de la aplicación con errores: C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE Ruta de acceso del módulo con errores: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Id. del informe: 79185d62-f89f-11e3-a81c-eca86b715b7e --- It makes crash with right click is used on any file. And I found that only when uninstalling AND deleting the following files BY HAND, the issue disappears: --- fzshellext.dll libgcc_s_sjlj-1.dll libstdc++-6.dll libwinpthread-1.dll --- In fact, I selected "Uninstall " and after process finished, it asked to reboot. Upon restart, the directory where the program was installed is full with all the files, and the issue persisted. I manually deleted all the files, but the previously mentioned were not deleted, indicating that they were used by Windows. I had to reboot to the option "Safe mode with command prompt" in order to be able to delete the files and directory. Then, after a check with CCleaner, one key remained in registry: --- ActiveX/COM Issue InProcServer32\ C:\Program Files\FileZilla FTP Client\fzshellext.dll HKCR\CLSID\{DB70412E-EEC9-479C-BBA9-BE36BFDDA41B} --- And it was deleted manually too. All the above procedure was made TWICE, because after the first time, I reinstalled the new version, hoping that it has been only a defective installation but it has not. I hope that it is corrected for the next version because it is a very useful tool. Thank you in advance.

#9608 Multiple UI problems with latest unstable closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

There seems to be a number of UI problems, but specific to OS X. More exactly:

The application starts up, and the main window appears. The cursor is in the "Host" window, but is not blinking. If you try to click in other text fields, the cursor does not move to them. If you type characters, they do not appear. But they DO seem to be registered; if you type in a hostname and click on Quickconnect, they will appear. There are other weird UI issues as well, those are only the ones that stand out right at first glance. All of these things happen with a FileZilla I build from source code as well.

#9615 Error when closing Filezilla Client 3.9.0-beta1. closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

I am using Filezilla version 3.9.0-beta1 and I get the following when closing Filezilla if I ever had a file open which may or may not of been already closed.

[Filezilla Error] File 'C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\Temp\fz3temp-1\empty_file_yq744zm' couldn't be removed (error 0: the operation conpleted successfully.)

This isn't a show stopper more of an annoyance, I have also added steps to reproduce.

Steps to reproduce: 1: Connect to server using FTP and Type Normal. 2: Open any file for View/Edit. 3: Close file viewer/editor with the file opened in step 2. 4: Now close Filezilla. 5: You will be told by Filezilla that some files are still being edited or need to be uploaded, even though they are no longer open. 6: Click on the Yes button. 7: Now a Error dialog pops up with above error.

This never happened in the last version of Filezilla and I always update as soon as I am told Filezilla has been updated.

Thanks Paul

#9624 No retry after failed to sent a command. closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

Hello I'm using internet behind NAT444. My ISP's NAT device allow port binding just for some time. After NAT device doesn't see activity on the port it will silently drop port binding to home's client.

To solve this You should add some option to send some null command for every X seconds. (Like in Putty)

but for particular issues I found is when I can connect to a server and then inactive for a period of time. Filezilla won't retry by restart a connection with the server when encounter an Error. Here the log:

Command: RNFR something.html Error: Connection closed by server

I expect when this happen it should restart connection with the server.

Either you resolve the issue by adding option to make some TCP activity periodically or retry when encounter an error is fine by me but I think both would be the best.

Please get this fixed PERMANENTLY!!! 12 years should have been time enough to solve this problem for ever.

devel\gdbstorage_NG\trash\2014_07_03÷2014_07_06 Banská Bystrica" containing Unicode and spaces 3) App crashes with error: /home/nighlybuild/buildroot/packages/wxWidgets/src/msw/treectrl.cpp(1287): assert "item.IsOK()" failed in IsSelected(): invalud tree item. see screeshot: http://www.imagesup.net/?di=314055907286

#9650 Time based speed limiting closed Feature request normal FileZilla Client
Description

Filezilla team,

Would it be possible to build upon the speed limit option by adding in time based limits?

Something like this incorporated into FileZilla would be great: http://i.imgur.com/9kFaks6.jpg

Limit upload/download (categorized as "Limited") and then the option of full speed.

Thanks for the great client!

#9652 Quick Connect suggestion closed Feature request normal FileZilla Client
Description

It would be cool if there was a feature that populated the quick connect input boxes with the last site so you could just click quick connect if you wanted to go to the same site you were last logged into.

Thanks

#9660 Never Check for Updates not working closed Bug report normal FileZilla Client
Description

When I start the application, and it completely ignores my set option in settings of "Check for FileZilla updates automatically:" "Never".

It then goes on to find an update. What's worse is that it alerts me every time I open the application, even redownloading the update if I go to Downloads and delete it.

This seems like a pretty major bug. It's been happening for years, but I never got this annoyed with it before.

Any idea when this can be fixed? Right now I'm in triage mode and have that program firewall blocked to the filezilla site it tries to reach for update information, but that's totally unnecessary.
