Please add the ability to sort on the priority column in the download/upload listbox.

It would be nice to be able to sort by any of the columns such as server/local file, Direction, Remote File, Size, Status, etc, but of particular concern is to have the listbox sortable by priority.

There can be some detection logic which can enable this option if server side supports it.

fileZilla can not transfer file which name has space in the beginning. In downloading scenario, fileZilla will trim the file name first, then request it from server. Server will simply return 550 Failed to open file(in my case is vsftpd).

I can download the same file with space in the beginning of the file name using ftp(0.17-23). the fileZilla version is 3.3.5.1, build date is 2010-12-11

Please note not all files which name contains space in the beginning fail to download. For example, .swf file can be downloaded. but .txt, .jpg, .png file will reproduce the error

filezilla client crashed directly after closing welcome window under Windows 7 filezilla client Version: 3.3.5.1

after some checks: -it works under windows xp (same pc) -version 3.4.0-beta1 seems to work under windows 7 -after installation of version 3.4.0-beta1 version 3.3.5.1 from zip also works -because I now the auto check for updates after closing welcome window I start it manually over the menu and it crashed again (version 3.3.5.1) on the initialization step of TLS

This FTP server is accessed in two ways: the internet via NAT, and over a VPN to a second private network. Under 0.9.36 beta, the server is accessible via both Internet and VPN with the following passive mode settings:

Radio Button "Use the following IP:" selected, and the WAN IP from pfSense is entered Don't use external IP for local connections is checked Use custom port range is checked

The local subnet of the FTP server is 192.168.xx.xx/23 The local subnet of the VPN accessing the server is 10.xx.xx.xx/24

When upgrading to 0.9.37 beta, the VPN users were unable to connect to the FTP server. It turns out under 0.9.37 beta, using radio button "Default" allowed VPN users to connect, but not Internet users; radio button "Use the following IP:" allowed Internet users to connect, but not VPN users, even with "Don't use external IP for local connections" checked - users on the FTP server's local subnet were able to connect.

By saying VPN users could not connect, I specifically mean "via the FTP server's internal IP address. Those same users could access it using the Internet IP address. It appears the checkbox "Don't use external IP for local connections" no longer considers 10.xx.xx.xx to be a local connection, but does consider local subnet addresses to be local.

Once I downgraded to 0.9.36 beta, simultaneous access was restored for both Internet and VPN users, using the internet and internal IPs respectively.

Miscellaneous information:

• ​http://www.g6ftpserver.com/en/ftptest was used for Internet connectivity testing.
• I have not tested other subnets than the VPN 10.xx.yy.zz range.
• The VPN is maintained by pfSense v1.23.
• VPN users can access other machines on the FTP server's local subnet without issues.

Hello- I cannot connect to the server 135.179.0.218 port is 10021 I have been trying to connect for 2 weeks and before I left on my maternity leave I was able to connect just fine. Now all of a sudden I cannot connect. The information is correct in the attached example except for the port which I changed back to 10021 but it still will not connect to the server above. I am a researcher currently analysing several versions of filezilla. I was able to cross-compile and make filezilla-3.2.7.1 without any issues however when trying to install filezilla-3.3.5.1 and filezilla-3.3.4.1 I run into troubles. I am running Kubuntu 10.04.1. OS. Here is the screen dump.

While using SFTP, filezilla is aware of that the connection is lost between the server and client (timeout i think), but it still tries to send command (when you try to refresh, it sends ls and hangs i.e.)

It should first connect and then send the command.

The top menu, toolbar area of icons and quick connect is being overwritten by scrolling text in the connect and actions information text area. (I don't know it's official name) This happens consistently every time the program is used. When you pass the cursor over the menu or some toolbar icons, they sometimes come back. (the icon hover toggle) This has happened for some time and is still occurring with the latest release.

i set up .lis and .txt files as ascii extension.

however, when i view or transfer a .lis or .log file...it comes up in binary.

therefore, the file is unreadable.

The Behaviour option: Do not save passwords is not persistent between sessions of FileZilla.

Settings > Interface > Behaviour > Do not save passwords

When checking the box, the setting is not saved at the next run time.

Hi there, I have an ASUS Eee PC, Netbook (1G RAM). I only recently installed filezilla and did so under the instruction of my web hosts -- who say they are quite familiar with the program. I have successfully made several connections to their server and uploaded files onto it. This is the primary reason I installed the program. The last three times I have started filezilla, a series of error messages have been popping up (see attached images). I have to click 'OK' on the boxes, of which there might be anything up to seven or eight. Two or three appear as the program opens and three always appear at the end of the session. This doesn't seem to be affecting my ability to connect to the remote server; I have performed a test connection and uploaded a file to check. I'm just wondering is this an omen of worse problems to come. Thanks, Kath T Today I also downloaded the newest version of filezilla, hoping the problem would stop, but it didn't. I just started up and shut down filezilla and have taken screenshots of every error alert I have to click through; errors 01.gif and 02.gif appeared at the beginning and the rest at the end. I have checked to see the destination folders in the error messages and the files mentioned are there, but I don't know much about what the messages mean.

Please add the option to "Create file," which would insert a blank file on the remote server for editing, which would be more convenient than having to leave FileZilla, create a blank file on the local machine, go back to FileZilla, refresh the local pane, upload the blank file, then delete the local copy of the blank file.

Hi A lot of times I have to transfer dll files or text files by ftp and, when i remember, I have to zip them with other programs in order to save a lot of space, and after send them with FileZilla. I think that it could be nice, if you can add a feature, where you can select some files to transfer and the program make a zip with inside that files and transfer only that zip file

Prior to FZ 3.4.0 I was able to drag a folder to a new location, within the same server, now it thinks it's between two different servers.

If a folder on FTP server has set user id bit (e.g. drwsrwx---) the change permissions dialog has 6 (rw) for owner. It is incorrect.

I have read the previous posts regarding the .htaccess issue. I have enabled the raw logs and my .htaccess file is showing up. I am using FileZilla 3.0.4

I also have enabled my server to "Force showing hidden files". I have this working on other machines but I have not been able to get it working since I reinstalled Win XP Pro. This isn't the end of the world because you can manually transfer a file but its kind of annoying when it used to work.

Program crashes after deleting a file on the local machine.

I run the latest version 3.4.0 of FileZilla client on Ubuntu 11.04. Before deleting a file on the local machine from inside the program, I had connected to an ftp server an copied a file across. After this, the program is frozen, and the only option to recover is to reboot the machine. The name of the deleted file was index.php~.

I've been connecting to the server up until yesterday and have been using the same host, username and password.

When I accessed a server what only support "Active" transfer mode. It's folder can't display a folder with started with dot.

The fact is we have a folder /a/.b/ on the server, but the remote view panel show "Empty directory listing". While CuteFTP can show this folder well.

Command: CWD to_adobe Response: 250 Folder changed to "/a". Command: PWD Response: 257 "/a" is current folder. Status: Directory listing successful

I noticed a severe security leak this morning. When you define shared folders for a user eg.:

• W:\MyFTP\jan

and add another shared folder e.a.

• W:\MyHomePage\Blog\jan\wp-content\uploads

Then filezilla server gives "jan access to:

• W:\MyFTP\jan and

W:\MyHomePage\Blog\jan (ignoring the rest of the path)

I had client version FileZilla_3.4.0_win32 installed on my Windows 7 64bit computer and it was functioning properly. When I went to run it the upgrade screen for FileZilla_3.3.5.1_win32 came up and I proceeded to do the upgrade. When the upgrade install was completed FileZilla would not run. When I tried to run it from the start menu it told me that I could not access the program. The same thing happened from start window when I tried to uninstall the upgrade. I checked permissions changed them to Full Control and then went to the Control Panel and uninstalled the upgrade and then re-installed the 3.4.0 version. Its not working now either. Can you offer some suggestions as to what the problem might be. Note: I made this a ticket because the upgrade failed with an originally working version. My machine originally had Vista and was upgraded to Windows 7. I believe that I did upgrade Filezilla after the conversion of the operating systems.

Summary Basically, in the event you have a directory containing tens of thousands of files (like a logs directory) FileZilla only shows the first 9998 files.

Steps to Reproduce

• Put 10 or 15k files in a directory
• FTP into that folder

Result: First 9998 files are listed

I wrote a crappy bash script that will create an arbitrary number of files in helping to help with reproducing this corner case of a bug: ​http://pastie.org/1875855

To use it:

• Create whatever.sh in a folder you want to test within
• Execute: chmod a+x whatever.sh to make it executable
• Run it as ./whatever.sh
• It will ask how many files you want

Other Stuff: I have reproduced this on Windows and OSX.

I can test on Linux if someone asks but I don't have a VM currently accessible so I took the lazy route :X

I created a ghost of my system which resulted in 3 files, 2 were 2147474666 bytes and the last was 654114517 bytes. If I copy these 3 files from windows xp to windows xp using native windows networking the destination files are created with the correct sizes. But if I use filezilla 3.4.0 to copy these files from windows to a linux server running an unpatched centos 5.4 distro, the file sizes at the destination are not the same as the source, different by several kb. If I run ghost, and verify the copied-to-linux image files (over a samba connection), ghost claims that the image is corrupted.

Just upgraded Ubuntu to 11.04 from 10.10.

I had no issue with Filezilla at all on 10.10. Now random freezes occur which make Filezilla totally unresponsive and require a restart, the app won't terminate normally when locked up.

I can't identify a specific action that can cause it - its appears to be random.

In preparation of the World IPv6 Day at 8 June 2011 we added AAAA Records in the DNS to the host names of our servers.

We can successful connect to all the services at the server via IPv6 - with the exception of the FileZilla Server, that does not offer IPv6 support.

This should not be an issue, because the Clients like web browsers or mail clients typically first try IPv6 and then fallback to IPv4, if no IPv6 connection can be established.

But the FileZilla Client does no fallback to the IPv4 address (what is also sent by the DNS server), FTP doesn't work any longer.

This could get an big issue and could cast a damning light on the FileZilla Client after IPv6 will be enabled by more and more ISP - not only at the World IPv6 Day!

Making an option available to set all connections to open in a new tab would be fantastic.

The extra screen asking whether I wish to abort the previous connection or go to a new tab is annoying, and for me redundant.

I am running XP SP3. When I try to launch I get several XML errors. layout.xml (failed to write), queue.xml and filezilla.xml (access denied).

When connected to a server via SFTP, and it times out and disconnects, FileZilla doesn't automatically reconnect when selecting a remote folder in the folder tree. Instead, it gives an 'input_pushback not null!' error, followed by another error: 'Failed to retrieve directory listing.'

Clicking on yet another folder will force a reconnect. It's just selecting the first folder that gives this error. It used to work fine, but has been broken for 6 months or so.

I found build bug - in installer edition FileZilla 3.50 RC1/RC2 file filezilla.exe have size at 99 Mb, but in Zip edition еры file have size ~ 30 Kb and don't work. Please check this files and correct buil script's.

1) Right click a local file and chose "Edit". 2) Make a change to this file. 3) Switch back to FileZilla. 4) On the prompt whether to upload the file check "Finish editing and delete local file". 5) Answer with "Yes" or "No". This does not seem to matter.

To my understanding the local file is the file I chose for editing. However, this file is still there afterwards. I am not sure what the expected behavior in this case is. Personally I like the current one, but I am confused by the option saying the file will be removed.

I had problems with accented letters with Filezilla client freshly downloaded last friday, on a Windows 7 (which I expect to use unicode for filenames).

HYPOTHESIS both of the bug and what is causing it ;-)

I believe that if the filename contains a 'e acute' with unicode value 0xE9 and so have UTF8 value 0xC3 0xA9, then the created file will have the 'e acute' replaced with two unicode characters. The first being unicode value 0xC3 (A tilde) and the second the unicode value 0xa9 (copyright sign). Which I guess could happens if the createFile windows function called was the non-unicode one rather than the unicode one.

Hopefully this is a simple request.

It would be very helpful to have different background colors (or some other visual cue) to help keep track of which session you're in when there are multiple sessions open.

since update 3.5.0 the "change date", after having sent update files, on the extern site does not work any more

When you apply a filter to a directory listing, there is no clear visual cue that the listing you are viewing is a filtered one. (except for the icon in the toolbar) If you leave a filter on and forget that it's on, this can be annoying.

It would be useful to have a more visual cue that the list is filtered. You could perhaps change the backcolor of the listing, or display "FILTERED" in bold red font in the status bar of the listing window.

Please raise the profile of FileZilla's SFTP/SSH capabilities. FTP is inherently insecure and it is time an effort is made to phase it out in favor of more secure, more simple options like SFTP.

FileZilla handles SFTP just great out of the box so changing a few lines in the web site and in the product documentation can go a long way in promoting awareness and use of SFTP.

I am getting the 403 forbidden error on my website. My hosting site says it's not coming from them, the error is with Filezilla. www.integritychristianacademy.com We suspect that a former employee has made changes that made the site to crash. Our hosting site is 1and1, we have contacted them and they assured us that it is not on their end. HELP!

Sometimes the command/response window overwrites the menu bar, toolbar, and quick-connect bar when it scrolls up. Cannot reproduce every time, but it does happen often. Most recent version of client (3.5.0) still exhibits this behavior, which started two to four versions ago.

I downloaded the FileZilla_3.5.0_win32-setup.exe and execute it both in windows XP and windows 7

I found the it can show the Chinese panel in windows XP but it just show English panel in windows 7. How can I choose the appropiate language for Filezilla?

I have been using filezilla for years now and all of a sudden I seem to have lost access to all my stuff. I haven't changed my log in information or password at all and now I can't log in. I get a "Critical Error" and "Could not connect to server" It is vital I get this working asap.

I ran rats 2.3 on the FileZilla source code and RATS detected several LoadLibrary vulernabilities in FileZilla. RATS states: "LoadLibrary will search several places for a library if no path is specified, allowing trojan DLL's to be inserted elsewhere even if the intended DLL is correctly protected from overwriting. Make sure to specify the full path."

I have been trying unsuccessfully to connect to my PVR for the past week or so. All I get is this message and then nothing...

I have tried the forums but they couldn't help.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled FileZilla Client onto my computer, and restarting my PVR, resetting to factory my PVR (it is able to get IceTV Guide and Programs and access my network via the LAN cable - its just FileZilla that doesn't seem to work).

What do I do now?

after update to 3.5.0 (was working fine between same two machines a couple of days ago - only significant change is FileZilla client upgrade) connecting to one of my servers takes down my wireless router. By which I mean it kills the connection between client machine and router, and also connection between iMac (different machine) and iPhone.

Steps: 1) wireless connected fine on all three devices. these are the only devices connected to wireless, and client machine (Win7 laptop) and iMac are not using DHCP (iPhone is) 2)Attempt connection to a specific server (which happens to be running FileZilla Server - message logs from both ends of connection at bottom of report). Initial connection fine, but on the PORT step connection hangs. As I say, this worked fine between the same two machine in 3.4.x just a couple of days ago 3)All three devices are no longer able to connect to wireless. 4)Physically reset wireless router 5)Rinse and repeat (6 - 8 times before filing bug report)

Other notes: 1) windows command-line ftp works fine to drop files between these two machines

When viewing a remote directory FileZilla will display a maximum of 7,998 files. I can log in via SSH and verify there are 17,438 jpg files in the given directory using the command "ls | wc -l".

None of the files hidden by FileZilla are hidden on the server, nor does my FTP login lack the permissions to see them (I use the same login for SSH, and the files are visible there).

This is occurring on a HostMonster.com account. I am unable to test whether this problem is limited to HostMonster.

To reproduce:

1. Put more than 7,998 files into a directory
2. Use FileZilla client to list the contents of that directory
3. Note that only 7,998 are shown

Configuration files should be in $HOME/.config/package/ as per the freedesktop guidelines: $XDG_CONFIG_HOME defines the base directory relative to which user specific configuration files should be stored. If $XDG_CONFIG_HOME is either not set or empty, a default equal to $HOME/.config should be used. See here: ​http://standards.freedesktop.org/basedir-spec/basedir-spec-latest.html for more details. I think this is a fairly easy task to do, and if everybody followed these guidelines we could maybe finally get rid of all these .dirs in the home directory.

Couldn't load on windows 7.. ​Buy Neopoints

I use Filezilla 3.5.0, my OS is Windows 7 . In Edit/Settings, I sepcify "use custom editor" and select Notepad++ using the Browse button and use filetype associations if available Click OK However when I view, edit a file, it opens it with Notepad, as opposed to Notepad++.

Only the upper portion of the Title Bar moves the window. The entire Title Bar should move the window.

When I try to rename local file to name that already exists, it overrides that file.

Example: I have 2 files test test1 renaming test1 to test replace test file without warning.

Trying the same on remote server throws alert saying filename already exists, what is good.

When I select File::Site Manager from the menu bar, a progress bar briefly appears and is replaced with a crash reporter.

I deleted the files in a folder on the host (Yahoo! hosting) and when the folder was empty, I tried to delete the folder. The remove directory command says that the folder is not empty, but when I try to list the contents of the folder, FileZilla says that the folder is empty. (image attached) I have tried to delete the folder repeatedly, but it does not get deleted.

Issue: Filezilla server process consumes an increasing amount of memory under load. On a busy system over few days to a week it eventually reaches 2GB of memory and ceases responding. A restart of the service resets usage to ~5MB, and growth begins again.

Observations: We have two instances of FZ server running on x64, a service system and a soon-to-be service system. So I have an opportunity if you can come up with tests to run.

It appears that each connection consumes a small amount of memory that is not released.

I am running the filezilla service under a domain account. switching to localsystem does not cure the issue.

This does not appear to happen on a 32-bit host machine we have that runs FZ server - this is an older version though and is not necessarily a fair test.

Over the last day or so I have had fun creating different types of load profiles. I've not been utterly scientific about this but have tested:

Single client instance repeatedly uploading/downloading 10MB file - little problem

Single client instance repeatedly uploading/downloading 10KB file - some leak

Multiple client instances repeatedly uploading/downloading 5Byte files - large leak.

Attached is a zipfile containing: ftpit.cmd - the script I used to create the files and the parallel connections. ftptest.txt - the ftp commands run to create activity (ftp-b is a cname to the server)

Open to suggestions/ideas/observations.

Add support for Amazon Web Service (AWS) S3 storage buckets as a file transfer target for FileZilla.

My search would indicate that this request was last addressed in tickets 2741 and 2648, which at the time the recommended path was requesting Amazon support FTP.

In the intervening timeframe, the userbase of AWS S3 has exploded, there have existed a number of architectural reasons why API based access provides significant advantage. The present climate of FileZilla's use would establish a case for the interface metaphor so well liked in FileZilla to target S3 storage buckets as well.

When ever I do server disconnect from Filezilla but in my SFTP server it still shows that the user is online. Is there anyway to logout so that in SFTP server it wont show that user is online anymore.

When working with Pen Tablets (Wacom,etc..) the high precision of the pointer causes very difficult to click shortly on a folder to select it. Usually the pointer drag a little pixels, causing the folder moving, and disastrous results on productive servers.

A option for disable (or confirmation dialog) would improve security when working with graphic poninters.

It would be very useful to hava an option to tell FileZilla that it should play a system sound when it finishes transferring its current queue.

FileZill was not broke. In your latest update I wish that you hadn't "fixed" it. The screen is more crowded than before, and requires more scrolling than before. This makes it slower to use than before. That is not an improvement. Yes, I know I can turn off some views. However that is a step I did not have to do before to get satisfactory results. You need a clean default view. Its called good ergonomics, which is suffering more and more these days.
