#13048 I want to delete the older version of Filezilla new Bug report critical FileZilla Client
Description

I had Filezilla on my laptop and all programmes were moved to my new laptop. I hadn't used Filezilla recently so I thought I would remove the old version and upload a newer one. However, when I open it this message appears: An error loading the transfer queue from "C:\User\patri\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla\queue.sqlite3"

I do not understand what this means as I have nothing in my queue and this appeared from the first moment I opened the programme.

Also when I try to delete the app/programme the message comes up that I must open the App in Administrator as its is registered to all users? As my machine is set to Administrator already I do not understand why I cannot remove the programme. ALso I am the only person to use this system so I am totally at a loss in how to remove the programme and the Community has proven to be no use whatsoever. Can you please advise. Does the Administrator mean the one I originally registered the

#13076 New Update Times Out new Bug report critical FileZilla Server
Description

I did the latest update and now the system continues to disconnect before I can transfer my files over. I tried it so many times now I'm getting the error 421 Too many connections from this IP. I can find the other error messag.

I now have some broken forms that won't load because they were in the middle of transferring so I'm hoping to get a quick resolution.

Thanks for your help!! I've added the About FileZilla info because I'm not sure if it's a server or client so I'm guessing on the dropdown below.

#13090 A Plea for Harmony in Design: Addressing Filezilla's Logo Dimensions on macOS Dock new Feature request critical FileZilla Client
Description

I love Filezilla and use it all the time.

Yet, amidst my admiration, there lies a stark visual discord that mars the seamless aesthetic of my macOS dock.

Unlike other companies whose logos elegantly conform to the requisite dimensions, the Filezilla icon stands as a glaring outlier.

The width and height are not correct.

Could you kindly adjust the dimensions of your logo? With heartfelt thanks.

The task involved the execution of Windows Media Player and FileZilla software, including the installation and uninstallation processes of FileZilla FTP Client. The process tree shows the flow of execution from the Windows Media Player configuration to the installation and subsequent uninstallation of FileZilla software. Additionally, the modified files and registry changes provide insights into the changes made to the system during these processes.

One of the most interesting points in this task is the creation of multiple temporary files with .dll extensions in the user's temporary folder during the installation of FileZilla. This behavior is commonly seen in malware to hide malicious activities within legitimate-looking files. Furthermore, the registry changes made to enable error reporting for various FileZilla components could indicate potential vulnerabilities or issues within the software that could be exploited by an attacker. The installation and subsequent uninstallation of FileZilla software in a short timeframe could also be a red flag for suspicious activity.

In conclusion, the task involved the installation and uninstallation of FileZilla FTP Client software, with various modifications to files and registry settings. The creation of multiple .dll files in the temporary folder during the installation process, along with the registry changes for error reporting, raises concerns about potential malicious activities or vulnerabilities. Malware analysts should further investigate the behavior of these files and registry changes to determine if any malicious activities were involved in this task.

#102 2 GB limit on file size ? closed Tim Kosse Bug report blocker Other
Description

Hi folks,

I have been using Filezilla for somme weeks now (version 1.8.1, on W2K) and there seem to be a file limit at 2 GB for the files that we can transfer or even catalog. Since recognizing this, I have tried other FTP client: leechFTP, WS-FTP LE, Smart FTP, even the DOS FTP client of Win2K seem to have the same bug, whereas Windows commander succeeded to the transfer, only restarting the counter at 0 every 2 GB, but at the end I had my 11 GB backup.bkf file transferred correctly. I have looked at the release notes for version 1.9 and 1.9.2 and searched with the keywords limit and GB but did not find anything on that.

Sincerely yours,

#337 Directory listing incomplete with passive SSL closed Bug report blocker Other
Description

Client: FileZilla 2.1.7 Server: proftpd 1.2.8 with mod_tls

When connecting passively to my LAN FTP server with explicit SSL enabled, half of the files in the directory listing are missing. When I disable SSL -or- passive mode, the file listing is complete. With FlashFXP and SSL enabled, the file listing is also complete. Thus, this is a bug in FileZilla because of the passive SSL mode.

#903 Potential bug in sending files (+proposed fix) closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Server
Description

There is a bug I've just fixed in the XBFileZilla version we use in XBoxMediaCenter that appears to still have the potential to be there in the latest CVS code of FileZilla.

XBFileZilla that we use is based off FileZilla version 0.8.3 or thereabouts, so is reasonably old, however the code in question has not changed all that much.

The interesting thing is that the bug itself only crops up on certain filesizes, and only on certain systems (network setups). For instance, I couldn't get it to reproduce on my system at all, yet the same executeable screwed up on several other systems.

The bug is in TransferSocket.cpp, around line 518. There is a block of code that checks whether the number of bytes read from the ReadFile() call is 0, and if so, closes the file and stops the transfer (calling Close() etc.)

The problem that occurs is that the buffer is filled at the previous call to CTransferSocket::OnSend(), yet is not fully emptied on that call (due to network traffic complications or whatever). Thus, the call to ReadFile() returns no data read, and so the code block closes the transfer, effectively terminating the transfer prematurely. No error is reported, so the user is unaware of the corrupted transfer, unless a CRC check etc. is issued later.

The fix, ofcourse, is to check first for an empty buffer before calling Close().

In our local version of the code, I've changed:

if (!numread) {

CloseHandle(m_hFile); m_hFile = INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE; m_status = 0;

m_pOwner->m_pOwner->PostThreadMessage(WM_FILEZILLA_THREADMSG, FTM_TRANSFERMSG, m_pOwner->m_userid);

Close(); return;

}

to:

if (!numread) {

CloseHandle(m_hFile); m_hFile = INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE;

if (!m_nBufferPos) { only close if we've actually finished!

m_status=0;

m_pOwner->m_pOwner->PostThreadMessage(WM_FILEZILLA_THREADMSG, FTM_TRANSFERMSG, m_pOwner->m_userid);

Close(); return;

}

}

Let me know if I can be of more assistance, or if you have any idea of why it cropped up in the first place ;)

Cheers, Jonathan

#3381 Filezilla 3.0.5.2 doesn't start on RHEL 5.1 closed Bug report blocker Other
Description

After installing the latest X-Server updates for RHEL 5.1 Filezilla 3 doesn't start anymore. Errormessage is: The program 'filezilla' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.

(Details: serial 1643 error_code 11 request_code 147 minor_code 5) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;

that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

#3700 Uploading mp3 file hangs after first 200kb closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

Trying to upload a 20MB mp3 file to this server with Filezilla always seems to hang after the first 200kB. I have been using FTP Commander for several years, uploading a file like this to the same site every week without problems. I have tried to use various versions of Filezilla (3.0.7.1, 3.0.9.3 and now 3.1.1.1) because I would prefer to use Filezilla if it would work. But it never does. It always hangs up when trying to upload these large files. I can upload small text/html files, but it always hangs on the large mp3 files. Below is a copy of the log, connecting to the site, changing to the "Services" folder and then trying to upload the mp3 file. I used the debug=verbose setting. Rob Doerksen

#3775 Filezilla 3.1.2 os x Intel (10.5.5) crashes on launch closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

Hi there,

I rebuilt my mac a few days ago and hence had to reinstall filezilla.

This morning (sept. 16) I got an update notice from Apple that system updates are available and I installed them. I am currently running version 10.5.5 of os x on an iMac with a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

I later went to the filezilla web site and downloaded the intel mac version of the software:

FileZilla_3.1.2_i686-apple-darwin9.app.tar.bz2 (Intel)

I uncompressed the downloaded file and dragged the program into the applications folder.

upon launching the filezilla logo briefly appeared in the task bar and then as the dialog box so eloquently puts it " The application Filezilla quit unexpectedly".

The following information was generated by problem reporter:

#3881 Crashes with SIGPIPE during uploads on non-Windows systems closed Tim Kosse Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

I have been trying to upload a 1.2GB file with FileZilla via the queue. Not once has it uploaded fully but that could be due to networking issues. However FileZilla crashes if there is an error in the upload process.

Also on smaller files the upload sometimes does complete but the file is corrupted i.e. the byte sizes mismatch.

This happens on both the latest stable release 3.1.3.1 and the release candidate 3.1.4-rc1.

How can i help to further troubleshoot as i am not sure if there is any trace/log left.

#4217 Crashes on launch when external drive is not present closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

Using the latest release (3.2.1) on Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.6 (Mac Pro, Intel Quad Core Xeon, 4GB RAM):

If an external drive was last used as the 'Local Site', and has since been ejected, and FileZilla closed, re-opening the application will immediately crash, and no access to the application will be gained until the same external drive is reconnected.

Normally, the application should revert to a default folder on the OS hard drive, but in the latest version, this does not seem to be the case.

#4626 Data connection SSL warning: SSL3 alert write: fatal: bad record mac closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

Only Client 3.2.6 corrupts files during upload/transfer. Downloading files works just fine. During upload of files to filezilla server 0.9.27 and filezilla server 0.9.32 both of which are set up with ftps port 990 using passive transfer mode, files stop and restart at random offsets thusly corrupting the files. also strange is if you click disconnect from ftp server during a transfer, the files continue to transfer. The only way to stop it is to completely close filezilla client. Error received during corruption is "Data connection SSL warning: SSL3 alert write: fatal: bad record mac". logged as follows...(names and ip addresses changed)

#4836 dialog box for existing files hangs with arrowed mouse icon closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

When I start the filetransfer to the server then the error dialog opens, because the files already exists, some with older dates. When I click into the dialog at the time it opens and I move the mouse cursor, then the mouse cursor is changed into an arrowed icon. One arrow of this icon shows to the top and one to the bottom. The icon is like: ⥏⥏

Now FileZilla hangs. And all the GNOME desktop hangs completely. The programs are still running, but I cannot use my keyboard and my mouse, no reaction because of the wrong mouse icon and the FileZilla dialog box. I can only turn the computer off using the power buttom.

#4946 more than 1 connection to server closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

If I try to transfer files to or from a server that only accepts one connection to the server i continuously get disconnected and reconnected with the status message 421 I can't accept more than 2 connections as the same user. i think the way this could be fixed is to add a checkbox in the Site manager that disables more than 2 connections. another suggestion: you can make filezilla automatically change the state of the checkbox (permanently, not temporary) to checked when it finds at least two 421 errors per connection.

Also can someone put a move and copy function into filezilla, for working with files on the server side? thanks!

#4951 Cannot open remote directories after aborting connection and reconnecting to another closed Tim Kosse Bug report blocker FileZilla Client

  • Select the abort connection option and then try to open a directory.

#4979 No password asked on Server->Reconnect (Ctrl + R) closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

I connect to a FTP via "Quick Connect" or using the "Site Manager" (in Spanish "Conexión rápida" and "Gestor de Sitios", respectively), then disconnect and close FileZilla and open FileZilla again, pressing Ctrl + R automatically reconnects to the last ftp server, without asking password.

I have not told filezilla to save any password, nor did in the past. I tried to Quick Connect to a server I've never connected in the past, and then closing, opening and reconnecting still did the login without password.

If I don't have told explicitly to do so, FileZilla should not remember any password. So, even at 'Reconnect', FileZilla should ask me for the password.

#5059 Problem downloading non-ascii filenames closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

Howdy, I believe I've found some bugs with this matter, my steps are:

Test 1: -Created a file with name: pois.. a á é ã lção.txt -Used Windows commandline to upload the file -Open FileZilla client to download the file, but, got this:

--- When i entered the directory to where i uploaded the file got:

Command: PASV Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (195,23,114,74,244,101). Command: MLSD Response: 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for MLSD Status: Invalid character sequence received, disabling UTF-8. Select UTF-8 option in site manager to force UTF-8. Response: 226 Transfer complete Status: Directory listing successful

When i try to download the file i get:

Command: RETR pois.. a á é ã lção.txt Response: 550 pois.. a á é ã lção.txt: No such file or directory Error: Critical error

but is i try to delete the file, it is able to do it:

Command: DELE pois.. a á é ã lção.txt Response: 250 DELE command successful ---

Test 2: -Created a file with name: aaaaaaaapois.. a á é ã lção.txt -Uploaded with Windows command line, but i set this parameters: ftp> quote opts utf8 on 200 UTF8 set to on ftp> mput aaa* 200 PORT command successful 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for aaaaaaaapois.. a ß Ú Ò lþÒo.txt 226 Transfer complete

-Tried to download it via Filezilla client, but when i entered the dir where the file was uploaded, i get the same: Command: CWD /bugs Response: 250 CWD command successful Command: TYPE I Response: 200 Type set to I Command: PASV Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (195,23,114,74,246,167). Command: MLSD Response: 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for MLSD Status: Invalid character sequence received, disabling UTF-8. Select UTF-8 option in site manager to force UTF-8. Response: 226 Transfer complete Status: Directory listing successful

if i try to download it, it doesn't work like in test 1, but delete works aswell.

Command: RETR aaaaaaaapois.. a á é ã lção.txt Response: 550 aaaaaaaapois.. a á é ã lção.txt: No such file or directory Error: Critical error Command: DELE aaaaaaaapois.. a á é ã lção.txt Response: 250 DELE command successful

FileZilla versios is: 3.3.0.1

maybe Filezilla client, show not use the UTF8 option, or maybe:

-IT could exist an option, in configuration, to enable or disable the: -When download fails, try to download the file without UTF8

An ideia that maybe could resolve this issue.

#5506 Uploading a file via drag&drop fails closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client

#5509 Path problem closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

Would like to proclaim a problem with paths. Namely, very often happens that when I send a file from the desktop, rather than address the path C:\Users\Tom\Desktop\index.html , I have C:\Users\Tom\Desktopindex.html (no "\" on the Desktop ), Which prevents the dispatch of a file. The problem does not occur when I send the file to disk. I have FileZilla 3.3.4rc1. This problem occurs on the dispatch file.

#5514 Drag and Drop Handler submitting wrong path/filename closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description
  1. Drag and drop a file from "c:\test\file.txt" (from the Windows Explorer) to the right hand side of the filezilla window (the "Remote site") into a folder on the connected server.
  1. filezilla will report an error indicating that it can not find the file "c:\testfile.txt" (mind the missing path seperator at the end of the dirname before the basename starts)

This also happens when you try to drag and drop the file from the left hand side of filezilla (the "Local site").

If I right click on the file in the "Local site" and choose "Transfer file" it works fine.

The log file does not reveal very much (I have set the log level to debug):

23:46:09: can't open file 'C:\testfile.txt' (error 2: das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden.)

(The latter is german and means that it can not find the file)

I am using Filezilla Client 3.3.4-rc1

#7837 Problem Uploading via FTPS. closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

I recently installed Fedora 16 onto my laptop. Since then I have been having trouble uploading over FTPS. This affects both FTPS and FTPES modes, and only affects uploads.

What happens is that the upload proceeds for only a few Kilobytes, then the connection times out and the upload resumes (REST). For another few Kilobytes, then times out again. Et. Cetera.

Trying an older version of FileZilla on Ubuntu works fine. However, an older version of FileZilla on Fedora still fails. My guess is that the problem might be due to the version of GnuTLS on Fedora, but this is only a guess. Below are the details of the versions of FileZilla I have tested.

Fedora (not working):

  • Note, I also tried version 3.3.3 on Fedora 16 with the same result.

Ubuntu (working):

I have two log files attached. ftp-log-working.txt shows the log from the Ubuntu client performing a successful upload. ftp-log-broken.txt shows the log from the Fedora client.

In the broken log, you can see the problem spot:

-- 12:25:35 Response: 150 File status okay. About to open data connection. 12:25:35 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::TransferParseResponse() 12:25:35 Trace: code = 1 12:25:35 Trace: state = 4 12:25:35 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::SendNextCommand() 12:25:35 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::TransferSend() 12:25:35 Trace: state = 5 12:25:35 Trace: CTlsSocket::OnRead() 12:25:35 Trace: CTlsSocket::ContinueHandshake() 12:25:35 Trace: Handshake successful 12:25:35 Trace: Session resumed 12:25:35 Trace: Cipher: AES-256-CBC, MAC: SHA1 12:25:35 Trace: CTransferSocket::OnConnect 12:25:35 Trace: First EAGAIN in CTransferSocket::OnSend() 12:26:15 Error: Connection timed out --

But in the working log you see:

-- 07:24:55 Response: 150 File status okay. About to open data connection. 07:24:55 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::TransferParseResponse() 07:24:55 Trace: code = 1 07:24:55 Trace: state = 4 07:24:55 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::SendNextCommand() 07:24:55 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::TransferSend() 07:24:55 Trace: state = 5 07:24:55 Trace: CTlsSocket::OnRead() 07:24:55 Trace: CTlsSocket::ContinueHandshake() 07:24:55 Trace: Handshake successful 07:24:55 Trace: Session resumed 07:24:55 Trace: Cipher: AES-256-CBC, MAC: SHA1 07:24:55 Trace: CTransferSocket::OnConnect 07:24:55 Trace: First EAGAIN in CTransferSocket::OnSend() 07:24:55 Trace: CTlsSocket::OnSend() 07:24:55 Trace: Made progress in CTransferSocket::OnSend() 07:24:56 Trace: CTlsSocket::OnSend() 07:24:56 Trace: CTlsSocket::OnSend() ... --

CTlsSockt::OnSend() continues until I cancel the transfer. I am not sure why the broken log stops after the EAGAIN error.

Please let me know if I can provide any other information that might be useful.

#7882 FileZilla Crashes when trying to download a number of files by dragging them from the server folder to a directory in my home folder closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

I use FileZilla 3.5.2 on a Linux Mint 12 (Lisa) plattform to connect to my Samsung Galaxy S2 Smartphone with Android 2.3 and the latest version of the App "Software Data Cable", which provides an FTP server for my phone's file system in my home network (over WLAN).

I can connet to the server without any problems, browse through the server file system and all folders and files are displayed correctly. However, when I want to download the content of my camera folder (about 100 JPEG-photos and 40 .mp4 video files) by marking all the files (click on first, Shift-click on the last file to be copied) and dragging them from the server folder window into the local folder window, Filezilla crashes.

I have attatched the Filezilla message log (file: "filezilla.log") which records the output from the launch up to the point when I opened the folder containing the files to download. When I dragged them over to my home folder the program crashed without any further output.

In addition to that I added a more useful log file from the gdb debugger, which shows the segmentation fault at the point of the crash. (file name: "filezilla crash.log")

I am running the Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric) based "Linux Mint 12" (Lisa) 64-bit on an Acer TravelMate 5740G Notebook with an Intel Core i5-430M and an ATI Mobility Radeon 5650 (using the proprietary fglrx driver for it). I also use the proprietary driver for the Broadcom WLAN card (package name is simply "wlan").

#7885 Files with modified date of 29th February cannot be transferred by read-only users via SFTP or FTP closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

I am running a Sun Solaris UNIX system with a future date. When the system created files dated 29th February 2012 and I tried to transfer them back to a windows machine, FileZilla is incorrectly appending the date to the start of the file name, thus making it impossible to transfer the files. Its some sort of leap year bug in the software.

On Solaris box:

$ ls | grep Bulk Bulk_STIP_PQ_jeconjrnl1.dat $ pwd /var/tmp

$ ls -ltr | grep Bulk -rw-r--r-- 1 jrnlextr intrfcs 2130198528 Feb 29 13:27 Bulk_STIP_PQ_jeconjrnl1.dat

Filezilla attempted transfer:

#7932 Download Pop-Up Menu Option Disabled closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

I've used FileZilla for a long while and have never had issues on any machine. However, I just installed on a new Windows 7 machine. Once connected, the "Download" pop-up menu options is disabled for all files 7 folders.

I've searched the menu and setup options thoroughly and have searched the forum and online for answers and haven't found any. Please advise.

Details:

  • Windows 7
  • Running FileZilla v3.5.3
  • Running app as administrator and not doesn't matter

Also, I had a previous image on this same machine before that ran FZ with no issues.

#8771 Data connection SSL warning: SSL3 alert write: fatal: bad record mac closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Server
Description

I have several two clients that upload logs to a FileZilla server 0.9.41. For some reason I receive the following dialog on the server during transfers. I read other articles that had a patch for this problem, but I am unable to access the patch from the previous tickets. The post was from 4 years ago, so I wondered if it's still applicable.

Here is the log I am seeing.

#9981 File Exists action doesn't save closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

Since 3.10.0-rc1, every time I upload an existing file, it asks me, for EVERY file, what I want to do (overwrite, etc).

Even if I put "Always use this action", it will keep asking me for every file.

In settings, the "File Exists action" is always to overwrite.

Didn't happen in previous versions. Is still happening in 3.10.0-rc2.

#10317 .DBF file arrives damaged with 3.10.2 closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

Since we upgraded to 3.10.2 DBF files arrive damaged. After a few records the content and fields seems shifted somehow. Additional problem is that we can't go back to an earlier version of Filezilla easily as the passwords are now crypted (good thing...) but in the previous version they weren't. See the damage in the picture, from record 81. The original DBF is attached too; you should be able to read it in Excel for example.

#10577 Problems with Directory Listing in MLST command closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

Affected Version: 3.12.0(.?)

Older Versions sent OPTS MLST type;size;modify;perm;unix.mode;unix.owner;unix.group;

before doing directory listing, the new versions sends: OPTS MLST size;modify;perm;unix.mode;unix.owner;unix.group;

Note the missing type feature.

This makes filezilla list everything as type "file", even if it a directory etc.

Gave it a high priority, as filezilla is currently unusable

Description

THe option to "Upload/overwrite if src file newer" is not memorized when selected to memorize (during dialog prompt).

  • This only works if "Settings" > "Transfers" > "File exists action" is set accordingly
  • Still then the "newer" property seems not to be checked correctly, as you can now overwrite again and again without changing the src file. --> Should only be possible once after it was changed!

#11753 3.37.0 & 3.37.1 only : random files not transfered without failure notice, files created with a size of 0 without failure notice, increase of failed transfers closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

3.37.0 & 3.37.1 only : random files not transfered without failure notice, files created with a size of 0 without failure notice, increase of failed transfers

With Filezilla client 3.37.0 and 3.37.1, when I upload large amount of files in several subfolders through an SFTP connection (to an openssh sftp server on debian jessie), I've got several problems :

  • Some files go missing without any notice in the failed transfers panel (they appear in the "successful transfers" panel but are not on the server)
  • Some files end up with a size of 0 on the server without any notice in the failed transfers panel (appear in the "successful transfers" panel but size 0 on the server)
  • I get some "target file already exists" for some new file to create
  • I noticed also an increase of failed transfers that I have to reset and requeue (though it didn't occur in the transfer which log is attached)

I could reproduce this problem several times when I upload a large amount of files with subfolder structure, but missing files and 0 size files are never the same and their number varies. It's generally about 4 or 5 for 2000 files to transfer.

I switched back to 3.36.0 and all those problem are not occuring anymore, and they never occured within the last 10/15 years I've been using Filezilla.

During the transfer related to the attached log file, I had 8 files in failed transfer. I reset and requeued and they uploaded correctly then. Those files are not the one that are missing after transfer is completed.

Missing files without error/notice /test/1346/slide/slide_555.jpg /test/1873/thumb/img_0100.jpg /test/1873/xlarge/img_0094.jpg /test/2033/thumb/img_0069.jpg /test/2033/thumb/img_0071.jpg

Size 0 files without notice /test/539/thumb/img_0042.jpg /test/2033/thumb/img_0051.jpg

Confirmed for overwriting after filezilla asked for overwriting an 'existing file', however folder was freshly created : /test/1346/thumb/img_0172.jpg /test/2033/xlarge/img_0044.jpg /test/2039/thumb/img_0035.jpg /test/2040/thumb/img_0030.jpg /test/539/thumb/img_0047.jpg /test/539/xlarge/img_0046.jpg /test/539/xlarge/img_0043.jpg /test/539/xlarge/img_0044.jpg

By the way, great job you are doing with filezilla ! Thanks for all !

#11945 FileZilla exits unexpectedly when searching for new updates (manually or automatically) closed Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

When trying to look for a new update the program closes completely. After the last beta update FileZilla collapsed after starting. I deactivated the automatic search for updates and it stopped happening. When I go to check for updates manually (from the help menu), the search window starts but two or three seconds later the error occurs. If the automatic search for updates is not canceled, the program can not be used because it always collapses.

#12065 Site manager stuck when unable to load key file new Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

If a site in site manager is unable to load the private key associated with the site (ie it is on an external drive that is not mounted) you cannot unselect that site. Everytime you try to select a different site you get an error message "Could not load key file - The file "xxx" could not be loaded or does not contain a private key". If the site is question is the very first one in the list it is selected by default which means site manager is unusable until the key is located.

Steps to reproduce: Create a new site which loads an SSH private key file from an external drive. Unmount that drive. Open site manager, select the site in question, get error message. Try to select any other site, you keep getting the error message and cannot select the new site.

#12191 New version of Filezilla has trouble verifying certificates new Bug report blocker FileZilla Client

On May 25 I updated Filezilla to newest version. Since then using the same settings as always, Filezilla reports that certificates are unknown and cannot be verified. The notification screen allows no options. I deleted Filezilla and reloaded it from the Filezilla server with no resolution. I am providing information in the attached files, including the notifications for server, intermediate and root certificates, the Filezilla log and my recent Windows updates. I am unable to FTP and am unsure if this is the fault of Filezilla or not.

The last time I opened Filezilla on my MacBook (macOS BigSur 11.5.2), I did it with a screen configuration that I no longer have; now, the result is that the position (top, left) is out of screen, and doesn't let me see the entire window, also hides the commands that would allow me to reset it. While you fix this bug, how do I to reset screen? (restart was not enough)

#12749 Major regressions over the past year new Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

This issue probably isn't as specific as might be desired, but I feel obligated at this point to report this to the project.

I have been using FileZilla for many many years. Throughout the past year, the performance and usability of FileZilla has decreased significantly. It has gotten to the point where it has become a significant impediment to doing work, since I SFTP files very regularly in order to do work. Several major regressions have been introduced into the software in the past few months/past year or so, for example:

1) Permanent hangs. If you leave a tab alone for a while and then come back to it, after it has timed out, and then try to navigate on the server, it just will not. With synchronized browsing, you can try to navigate different folders and it will just whine "synchronized browsing operation already in progress" and never complete. If you try closing the tab, it will prompt for confirmation and then the dialog for creating a directory that isn't synchronized comes up, which is obviously completely out of place and wrong. Very messed up.

TL;DR - often times, if a session becomes "stale", then it is stuck that way and can't become "unstale" - you have to start ALL over.

Changing the timeout in settings from 20 to 0 has no effect.

The solution is to open an entirely new tab and then re-navigate to the path you were at. The new tab opens and connects instantly. However, this is very annoying as if you manually changed paths, you now have to find your way back to where you were, and when you have to do this dozens of times per day, that wastes A LOT of time. It got to the point where it was faster to just come back to FileZilla and open a new window and start all over again rather than trying to bother recovering the previous session.

  1. Infinite loops. There are serious bugs in the software that can cause infinite loops. On multiple occasions, CPU usage has gone to 100%, even after FileZilla was closed, and it turned out to be filezilla.exe consuming 100% of CPU. Clearly something went very wrong, as even when closing the window the process didn't exit as I told it. This doesn't happen super frequently, but it's happened enough times to be vexing.
  1. Corrupted transfers. Quite frequently, on certain servers especially, file transfers get truncated at some multiple of 256 bytes, and I might have to retry the transfer 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 etc. times before the entire file actually fully copies. (FileZilla does correctly show the transfer "failed").

As a result, I have been wasting 15+ minutes PER DAY just because of how broken FileZilla has become in the past year.

I have been able to notice the difference because I have been upgrading FileZilla normally on one system and I have a static copy of FileZilla Portable 3.44.1 on another system, from 2019. That system never has any issues, but the up-to-date one just gets worse and worse.

Today, I downgrade from the latest version that I had (3.60.1) to 3.44.1 and immediately noticed the difference. No hangs. No freezes. No issues. The software JUST WORKS as it used.

And then of course, a pop up comes up saying it's automatically downloaded 3.60.1 to the Downloads folder. No thanks - modern versions of FileZilla are no longer suitable for production usage. FileZilla has become so unusable these days I can't even stand it. As 3.44.1 works fine, I'll be using that indefinitely forever unless these issues are all resolved, as the software continues to perform noticeably worse with every upgrade.

Yes, I'm rating this "Blocker", because the fact is that the trunk release of FileZilla is essentially broken. Major functionality no longer works as it used to, and there are serious problems that need to be resolved before this project can carry on with releases as normal. There is zero point in you guys releasing any more versions of this software ever again unless all of these issues are fixed, because apparently the releases from 2019 will work much better anyways. I think the project should do a test of all the software releases since 2019 to find out where exactly these kinds of things went off the rails, as those issues need to be resolved if FileZilla in its current form is ever going to be usable in the future again.

Hi team,

It appears that one of our IPs is blocked from accessing Filezilla. Can we have the following list of IPs, owned by Netskope, allow listed? When trying to access filezilla-project.org the IP receives a Bad Gateway error while other IPs in the same /24 work well.

#12917 Directory Listing includes date as part of filename (again) new Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

Hi, I've just setup vsftpd 3.0.3 on Astra Linux server and trying to connect to it from Kubuntu 23.04 with FileZilla 3.63.0.

I'm able to connect, able to create a dir with name 1 in the empty folder, but when I'm refreshing the dir listing I'm getting a wrong dir names. They include a month and date along with a real dir name.

The dirs are created on server side with proper names. I can access them via the terminal.

ls -l on server side returns:

$ ls -l drwx------ 2 ftp ftp 4096 мая 3 13:47 1 drwx------ 2 ftp ftp 4096 мая 3 13:51 2

there are two folders: 1 and 2 created on may 3. Locale is russian.

#12927 FileZilla Client component freezes after waking up from hibernation new Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

Hi, Previously when we put the system on hibernate and reuse next day, the filezilla normaly keeps entertaining the edited files and we could keep using the connected servers. But after upgrading to last few latest versions, filezilla no more entertains the opened files, like normally if I edit and save the file on editor, the filezilla instantly asks if I want to replace the file on server, but now it abandons the last days edited files. Moreover, if I retry to edit any file from the previous day connected server, It does nothing and to make it work, I have to shutdown and reopen a new component of filezilla. I am not sure if its a bug or a new feature added. Please confirm.

#13083 Big 7z archives are sporadically uploaded corrupt. new Bug report blocker FileZilla Client
Description

Dear FileZilla Team!

I've been using FileZilla for several years now, but recently noticed an issue where big files are uploaded corrupted. Few days ago I've been uploading a file (a 7z archive) that is a bit over 2 gigabytes. The upload went without any issues or warnings and file on the server had exactly the same size as the original. Although, when I check md5 checksum - they differ. Then I checked file contents and few bytes in the middle (3 different places) were different.

I have tried the same file again - the same issue, but now different bytes were different. I have tried once again - and yet again same issue. Then I split the archive into 3 parts (files) using archive-split feature, so that each file size is smaller (around 700MB). I have uploaded all three one by one (as opposed to in parallel together). One out of three was uploaded corrupted.

I'm not sure if it helps, but I'm using an insecure FTP Server (meaning, no encryption, but with a password). Transfer mode is set to "Default". Charset is set to "Autodetect".

Please let me know how can I help further diagnose the issue.

Thank you very much in advance!

P.S.: I have found several "corruption-related" issues which are already closed, but did not find anything 7z-related, therefore added a new one. Please let me know if I should have used an older one instead.

#27 Folder Upload Bug closed Tim Kosse Bug report high Other
Description

Hi Folks,

I'm using FileZilla 1.6, Windows ME uploading to redhat linux box running wu-ftpd-2.6.0

Consider the following file structure:

folder

sub1
|file1

|

sub2

file2

Folder has no files in it so FileZilla skips it when uploading. This then causes the upload of files in the sub dirs to fail.

(Any chance of a linux version?) Keep up the good work!
