#3941 | Wrong upload directory | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
It's been a few times that I uploaded a bunch of files, and while it's uploading, I change remote directory as I have something else to see... Well, some random local files get uploaded to the current directory I'm browsing!! How neat is that? It's only one every so often. When building the queue, thank you to save the remote directory AT TIME of building the queue, and stick to it please. This bug has been on for years now. Really counter productive. Thank you and good luck. |

Description |
Our IT department is flagging (or flogging, depending on perspective) regarding a security risk with the filezilla server. Is this something that can be fixed? * The remote FTP server crashes when the command 'MLST a' is issued right after connecting to it. An attacker may use this flaw to prevent you from publishing anything using FTP. Solution : if you are using wftp, then upgrade to version 2.41 RC12, if you are not, then contact your vendor for a fix. Risk factor : High CVE : CVE-2000-0647 BID : 1506 Nessus ID : 10487 |

#3970 | Remote devices (USB, Ethernet) slow to load file list | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hi, I've got an Ethernet storage device (Western Digital) which is so slow at loading the file list in FileZilla. Comparing it to other FTP software, they load the list super fast. You can see a performance decrease on other software compared to your computer hard drive, but I would expect that with anything that's remote based. On my screen I could wait up to 10 seconds before I can do anything as when using the local site explorer for a remote device freezes any other action taking place on FileZilla until the list has loaded. It's fairly quicker when it's just listing folders but you can still see a performance decrease and a 'freeze'. Newest version of FZ. |

Description |
No shortcut key to open files. The option is there but shortcut key is not there. So i have to click on the file, then right click and click on Open to open a file. For eg. in CuteFTP you select a file and then by pressing Control + E it opens the file with the associated application. Same functionality is required in FileZilla also with other related shortcut keys and their functions. |

#4141 | Problem with crashing when downloading folder/files very repeatable | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
Using Filezilla 3.2.0 (and also 3.1.6) Windows XP PRO SP1 on AMD Athalon Connection is FTP on port 21 Filezilla was working fine on prior version. Upgraded to 3.1.6 in December 2008 and began having some crashes. Upgraded to 3.2.0 today (2008-01-07) and still have problems crashing. Crash happens nearly every-time I try to download (backup) the Plugins folder for a WordPress Blog. I initiate the download by dragging plugins folder from remote filelist to local filelist. The folder that is being copied does not exist on the local computer prior to initiating the download on Filezilla. The folder has only 153 files, 16 folders, about 2.5 MB. Crashes with other folders as well but this is the folder I am working on right now, and it is the folder being copied when the attached logfile was created. When Filezilla crashes, perhaps 50% to 75% of the download is complete. I get a Windows crash message with these details: AppName: filezilla.exe AppVer: 3.2.0.0 ModName: msvcrt.dll ModVer: 7.0.2600.1106 Offset: 00033de0 Filezilla USUALLY continues to run behind the Win-error box and sometimes it even completes the files in the queue before the Filezilla window closes. Sometimes during this downloading, after the Win-error box opens, Filezilla will show a file-exists dialog indicating that a zero-length file already exists at the destination. Of course the file did not exist at the target location before the download because the target folder did not exist then and it was created by Filezilla. |

#4165 | Extend FileZilla with HTTP/HTTPS file-exchange capabilities | closed | Feature request | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
Dear. Are there any plans to extend FileZilla with HTTP/HTTPS file-exchange capabilities expanding it's usefullness allowing to exchange files with a wide range of app-servers and integration platforms like SAP/XI, webMethods and Tibco in partucular. At present we have to use low-level tools like Curl or wGet. Having a neat FileZilla UI framework in combination with HTTP(s) protocol support would be an added asset. |

#4185 | non-standard characters in home path prevent client from functioning normally | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
I installed FileZilla FTP client, started it, and an error message popped up: Error loading xml file Could not load "C:\Documents and Settings\Dženan Zukić\Application Data\FileZilla\filezilla.xml", make sure the file is valid. For this session, default settings will be used and any changes to the settings are not persistent. OK After clicking OK, several more similar messages are displayed, and file window is shown. Some more messages may appear during usage, all referring to the same file. I believe that reason is character "ć", which is not included in charset ISO 8859-1 (US-ASCII) which is default on my system. Again when closing the application, similar message is displayed. |

#4204 | FileZilla Client (Windows) uses IPv6 in preference to IPv4 | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
I have several Windows clients running Windows XP Pro SP3 and Windows Vista SP1. I have FileZilla client 3.2.0 installed. All these machines have a dual IPv4 and IPv6 configuration as I am currently testing IPv6. My DNS server (Windows 2003 Server SP2) returns both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses for my servers when queried. My FileZilla sever (0.9.30) is running on a Windows XP SP3 machine, also with a valid IPv6 configuration. When I use the FileZilla client to try and connect to a server for which my DNS server can return both an IPv6 address and an IPv4 address, the FileZilla client always tries to use the IPv6 address in preference to the IPv4 address. This might not be an issue except that the FileZilla server does not seem to listen to/accept connections on its host's IPv6 address. As a result the client is not able to connect. I have tried changing the binding order on the client machines to make IPv4 come before IPv6 but it does not help. This seems like a bug to me. Surely use of IPv6 should at a minimum only be by explicit request? Ideally one could specify which to use as a default at the client level and maybe also with a host specific override. I imagine mixed environments are becoming quite common and this could become a big problem. |

#4235 | "Treat files without extension as ASCII file" should be unchecked by default | reopened | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
With this option checked by default,
ASCII convertion is file modification. Files without extension are of unknown type. Modifying files of unknown type is really something that shouldn't be default behavior. I'm reporting this bug after having ~2000 corrupted files because of it. And I discovered that the files were corrupted after a week, so even my backup is corrupted. ASCII convertion for binary files corrupts them irreversibly, please don't do it by default. |

#4241 | DDE association not working | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
Attempts to do "View/Edit" on a remote file that happens to be a Microsoft Office file (e.g., Word .doc, Excel .xls) fail with the new version of Filezilla (3.2.1). They worked just fine in 3.2.0. The error message you see is: The file "" cannot be opened: The associated program (WX_DDE #c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Excel.exe" /e#Excel#system#[open("")]) could not be found. Since I use this program to remotely edit Office files on outside computers, this is a blocker for me, but I have set the priority to "high". |

#4275 | Downloading files to wrong directories | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
I saw some older tickets about this issue, but never with a (working) solution. When I checked my local hdd after downloading a big folder with images, I noticed that directories are all over the place. I can't figure out if the messing up is consequent. I'm using active mode, but the wizard tells me everythings fine. I'm also using a filefilter to exclude thumbnails. When I add the dir to the queue, everything seems fine, trouble start when processing the queue (wrong folders are immediately created, while NOT listed in the queue before). |

#4277 | cannot open files...associated program error | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
I saw other users had this same problem on the PC.... I just downloaded 3.2.2 and now I get the error message: The file home.html cannot be opened. The associated program ('Applications/TextEdit.app' <"home.html") could not be found. Please check your file type associations. I've never had a problem with earlier versions. Can I delete this last update and download an earlier version? I have a deadline of TODAY to complete my website and this is the only way I have of editing...I don't want to have to switch to another editor, I've been using Filezilla for years and this is the first time I've had a problem. By the way, I get the same message no matter what type of extension is on it. Yet the program is there, I have my files associated properly, and if I download have no problem opening them up. |

#4281 | Cannot connect to SFTP-SSH server on port 22 | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
We've been running WinSSHD from BitVise for a couple of years here. No problem with FileZilla at all until the latest release (3.2.2.1). Suddenly we're unable to connect to our BitVise WinSSHD server and perform FTP functions. FileZilla error messages are: Status: Connecting to secure.asiflex.com... Response: fzSftp started Command: open "CISNOPLN@…" 22 Command: Pass: Error: Authentication failed. Error: Critical error Error: Could not connect to server Previous version of FileZilla still successfully connects to the BitVise WinSSHD server, so I'm inclined to believe something got "broken" in this latest release. |

#4309 | Upload of large files completes, but shows zero bytes on server | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
Re: Filezilla 3.2.2.1 Hello, I enjoy using Filezilla daily, but there's a bug when uploading large files. This has occurred in previous versions of Filezilla, but I haven't reported it until now. The uploads complete, only to show zero bytes on the server. The uploaded files do not play or download when requested by a browser. These are mostly audio and video files in excess of say 100 MB up to 250 MB. I've tried uploading the same files to the same server directory with other clients - WS-FTP, Cute, Smart, ftp Explorer, ftp Voyager, etc. They all complete the transfer and show the correct file size. Which makes me think there's a subtle bug in Filezilla. I've attached the Filezilla verbose log. For now, I'm using WS-FTP to transfer large files. |

#4317 | FileZilla & Wacom | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
I see a ticket close with an annoying issue that is not resolved with the increasing of the drag threshold. Apparently FileZilla doesn't use a component that make use of the wacom configuration. Inside of the FileZilla browser when you click a folder with the wacom it generate a drag event instead of a click event and an error message appear every time showing: A directory cannot be dragged into one of its subfolders. It is basically imposible to use filezilla with the wacom and only happend with FileZilla, applications like CyberDuck does not have this problem. By now I had to use another ftp software becouse of that. I see this note about it: http://www.nabble.com/Drag-threshold-td21814481.html Explaining more technically what the problem is. I used FileZilla since ever! but is really annoying to left the pen and use FileZilla with the touch pad every single time... Best Regards! |

#4346 | Multi-level directories and files upload problem | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
I have been uploading files which has more than 7,400+ files and 2,200+ directories for the past 2 days to our web hosting. I have tried the upload a dozen of times every time clearing the files again on the server to make sure that it will re-upload everything. The problem encountered is after checking the files, there are a lot of missing files on the server especially if its in the 2nd or 3rd level directory although files on lower directories are complete (well it looks like its complete). After a couple of re-tries (deleting and re-uploading the files), I checked the list of "Successful Transfer" and the missing files was not in the list. Note, there are no failed transfers. After this, I re-queued the files by dragging the files again to the Queue list. Making sure the files that I noticed are missing is in the queue list. This time, I didn't delete the files in the server but selected the "Skip" option for the existing files. It was able to upload some of the missing files, but after running the web application there are still lots of missing files. This is getting tiring. Its not possible to check every 7,400+ files to see if they are all uploaded. Just checking them will take days which will hamper our productivity. Actually it already hampered our development and productivity since I have been trying to upload our web app since yesterday. I know this was working prior to updating to the current version (3.2.2.1) OS is Windows XP with SP3 |

#4391 | Editbox with autosuggest for site manager right before the "host" field. | new | Feature request | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
As the summary says it would be great to have a field with autosuggest (prompting the data you got in the site manager) right before the host field. I personally have 100+ websites added to the site manager and I had to split them in directories, but this slow me down each time I need to connect to a different one. I would rather type some of the text of their title and have the fields filled up with an hit of enter key. I think it would increase the usability by a lot. |

#4417 | Site Manager already open | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
I have users on an Open Directory, their home folder is located on a remote Xsan so they can move to different machines and hold their settings, when opening Filezilla they can use everything except Site Manager. When clicking on site manager the Error pops up: Site Manager already open The Site Manager is apened in another instance of FileZilla 3. Do you want to continue? Any changes made in the Site Manager won't be saved then. and "NO" and "YES" buttons. Yes opens the Site manager but nothing will save. I have looked at the settings and the .Filezilla folder is on the remote server instead of locally on the machine. Is there anyway to point the folder? or a fix for this issue? I am able to go to the sitemanager.xml on the server and put info in the xml it will appear in the site manager but it will not accept any new connections, and i have users who are always updating settings. |

#4425 | FTP connections stop working; Error, could not connect to server | closed | Other | high | FileZilla Server
Description |
I have been running FileZilla server for 2 years now. I recently ran into problems with it not working. This is the error I get when I try to connect to the server via the server interface. FileZilla Server version 0.9.31 beta Copyright 2001-2009 by Tim Kosse (tim.kosse@…) Connecting to server... Error, could not connect to server Trying to reconnect in 5 seconds When this happens, no clients can connect to the server. I never received this message until a month ago or so. An upgrade to 0.9.31 beta would not fix the problem. I am running Windows 2003 Server. No changes have been made to the server except for automatic windows updates, I didn't see anything that would affect a running FTP process/service. I am at a loss, there is nothing in any log files or any other evidence to point us in a direction. There is no antivirus or firewall software on the computer, the network is behind a firewall. If I want to test without any firewall I would just connect locally from another machine in the same network. So the firewall is not an issue. |

#4512 | Filezilla client over ftp proxy | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
since the last 3 versions of filezilla client we experience that if we use an ftp proxy ( witch we are obligated ) to connect to the internet FTP servers that downloads from ftp servers resume over the actual filesize. Meaning that if you download a file of say about 300MB it doesn't stop at 300MB it always gives an error message at the end of the file concerning retry and it starts downloading the file from scratch. But it still gives the download completion as "> 100%" and this goes on and on untill you end the download. After enough searching I stumbled on the fact that it was related to Filezilla client. I tried the same setup with another software like Core FTP LE and there the file just ends at his size and is saved. Can you investigate this, |

#4537 | unintentional move of files by clicking into filezilla | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
Filezilla Version 3.2.4.1. The Bug still remained after updating to 3.2.4.1. I often have a very bad and nerving problem. I use Filezilla for editing files on the “ftp remote side” (server side). My default editor is Notepad++ and I use the “widescreen-view” with directory-trees in FileZilla. Now my problem: I perform a right click on “ftp remote side” on a file and then in the context menu I click 'edit'. The Notepad opens the file and I do modifications. I save the file and click into the FileZilla-window (on “ftp remote side”) and confirm the overwrite prompt. And then sometimes this bug appears: FileZilla moves another file (the one I have clicked onto in order to go back into the FileZilla window) into another directory of the directory tree. I have not clicked and dragged/moved the file! I have only clicked the file in order to go back to the FileZilla window and then I confirm the prompt. I think the bug comes only in a sequence of unfortunate events. |

Description |
This is an option that existed in older version but does not exist anymore in newer versions of FileZilla (up from 3.2.0). FileZilla should keep or preserve server date/time on downloaded files and keep client date/time on uploaded files. All other download and ftp managers have this feature: smartftp: www.smartftp.com/support/kb/how-to-preserve-the-time-on-file-downloads-f139.html Getriht FreeDownload Manager Why this option was removed? #4580 | filezilla crashes on global site download if file or folder generates 550 error | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
when trying to download a complete remote site, the filezilla client crashes if this site contains a file or folder that, when seperately downloaded as a single file or folder, would generate a ftp 550 error : 550 : No such file or directory. filezilla crashes (displays the crashed popup), while other threads successfully download the rest of the site. it seems the offending files are not visible in the standard available windows ftp commandline client utility (ftp.exe) the full error when attempting a separate download of such a file is : "550 icon: No such file or directory Error: Critical error" the crash info in the eventviewer is : "Application popup: filezilla.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x77c43de0" referenced memory at "0x04397000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program" incidentally, the crash is reported in the system section of the windows event viewer as an application popup, while instead it should be reported in the application section as an error. |

#4581 | Corrupting Wordpress File Uploads! | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
For some reason, MANY people using Filezilla to upload files to their Wordpress, self-hosted blogs are getting parse errors. It seems filezilla is doing something to the files as it uploads that is corrupting the file and causing our blogs to be UNUSABLE. Sometimes you can just keep uploading the offending file until filezilla gets it right, but I have now reached a point where even my localized file seems corrupted. Not sure how to explain this, but if you search wordpress.org forums for parse error, you will see the mention of filezilla being the ftp client. I wasnt having any trouble until the last two upgrades. The last one seemingly the worst offender of all! Now i get to try to figure out how the heck to get this fixed, as my blog is out of commission until i do. I liked filezilla until the swtich to wordpress...guess i better find a different ftp client. |

Description |
Hi, I have installed FZS 0.9.31 on a windows XP SP3 box a month ago for a private use: there is a small number of well known clients. And during this month, FZS has going crazy several times. CPU skyrockets to 100% with someone connected but no user identified in the list of users in the admin console. It always follows the same scheme: someone tries to authentify 2 or 3 times with the same username (USER command), without giving any password (no PASS command) and FZS go crazy. Kicking or banning user make FZS go back to normal. Description |
With the latest version of FileZilla if I drag and drop a file in order to upload it from a folder in the Finder *or* from the file browser on the left side of FileZilla into the connected-to FTP site on the right side, I get a total crash. I actually don't even have to "drop" the file, just moving it over the connected-to FTP site on the right so that the window highlights crashes the program. #4632 | 3.2.6 upload restarts | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
FileZilla Client Version: 3.2.6 Build information:
Linked against:
I connect to a FTP-ES server over port 8080. When i try to upload the upload begins and then restarts, and restarts over and over again. I have tested the upload on a different machine with 3.2.5 same configuration and it works perfectly. The machine with 3.2.6 previously had 3.2.5 and was upgraded to 3.2.6 with all settings intact (this has worked flawlessly before). I have also checked the settings between the 3.2.5 machine and the 3.2.6 machine and they are identical. No error messages are displayed, only: 426 Connection closed; transfer aborted. Then the upload is restarted, then a new 426 and a restart and so on. The file i try to upload is a (.avi). |

Filezilla client only uses the old passive mode when passive mode is requested for connection. The newer "extended passive mode" (EPSV RFC 2428) should be the prefered connection method, because it can better deal with NAT on the server side. |

#4649 | large text file in ASCII mode did not get downloaded during ssl/tls session | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
Filezilla 3.2.6.1 vsftpd 2.1.0 on AIX with TLS support When I downloaded a large text file (e.g. 80KB file) in ASCII mode from remote server to local PC (using either implicit or explicit tls/ssl), the file does not get copied. This was tried on both passive and active mode. I have no problem downloading same large text file in binary mode. I also have no problem with smaller text files and uploading large text files in ASCII mode. I see 2 error TLS messages in debug mode Trace: GnuTLS error -8: A record packet with illegal version was Trace: GnuTLS error -9: A TLS packet with unexpected length was received. WinSCP have no problem downloading large text file in ASCII mode so it may not be the server issue. #4656 | 3.2.6.1 Can't Browse To Desktop to select files | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
I downloaded the new version, and everything goes fine until I try to select the files to send. The only browsing options I get are my disks C, D, and E. I can't get to my desktop to navigate to the folders where I have to send from. I uninstalled and reinstalled it twice with the same result. I hope it's ok that I put this as high priority-- it is for me anyway. thank you, Leslie Murray ps I have used Filezilla for several years with no problems and I love it. |

#4727 | Default to server NAT IP for pasv connection | closed | Feature request | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
The situation is this: Johnny has a vsftpd server behind a nat firewall, a static IP with a subdomain for his shiny ftp server, and an entry in his gateway's internal DNS server to match that subdomain. Johnny can accept connections outside his firewall from clients all day, but because of the pasv response, users inside the network cannot connect as it issues the WAN IP associated with the vsftp server. Now Johnny has noticed that certain FTP clients (latest release of Cyberduck) can deal with this just fine, by what Johnny assumes is defaulting on the initial internal dns resolution. Johnny has always loved Filezilla and prefers not to use Cyberduck in his Mac dominated office, so Johnny comes to the developers with hat in hand, asking if such a feature can be added to Filezilla? |

Description |
I had an old version of Filezilla (2.1.12?) and used the menu Help/Check For Updates to upgrade :- 1) This downloaded FileZilla_3.2.7-rc3_win32-setup.exe from sourceforge. 2) I uninstalled the old version using the uninstall option in the program folder. 3) I ran the new .exe file to install. 4) Running this new version said that there was a later version to install, so downloaded this. This was a file called FileZilla_3.2.7_win32-setup.exe. 5) Trying to install this however, fails. Running any Filezilla exe file now just starts Filezilla itself. This includes the uninstall program (from the program folder or directly from the file). 6) I now cannot run several programs, as Filezilla client starts in the place of them. An initial list (but not exhaustive) is below :- Run/cmd (DOS command line window) Control panel/Add/remove programs Notepad Windows Media Player Calculator 7) Some programs start alongside Filezilla, eg Firefox. 8) The only program (so far) that runs alone is Microsoft Outlook. I have a logfile at debug level 3, but it is empty as no processes have been carried out within Filezilla itself. I notice that a download from filezilla-project.org now downloads from cloudfront.net. Please, is there a patch for this? |

#4753 | Client upload and download restart after 95-100% complete. | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
When connected to a client's ftp site(a fortune 100 company), I often can't successfully download or upload files. The process gets 95-100% complete and then puts up a pop-up 'target file already exists' when it tries to restart. If I choose 'Overwrite', the same thing happens again. Sometimes, usually with smaller files (< 10MB), filezilla works. The windows command line client always works. I used to use LeapFTP and it always worked. I'd like to move to FileZilla but 50% of the times I need an ftp client, it is for this site. What kind of traces can I get for you to help figure this out? Unfortunately, the site is restricted so I don't have a way to tell you how to recreate the problem yourself. |

#4786 | filezilla chunks a few bytes with certain files/hosts | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
this is really strange. when i upload files via ftp (sftp doesn't seem to be affected), they get smaller on the server after upload. but this doesn't happen with all types and on all hosts. i've made a few tests: chunks:
doesn't chunk:
i couldn't find other file types which trigger this error. version 3.2.7.1. it fails on extra.hu, bplaced.net and godaddy free hosting but it doesn't on sf.net's ftp service. i've tried to find out where the bug originates from. 3.0.1: fails with html and txt, doesn't with extensionless 3.0.2: fails with all 3 and since that version, the same result with the few releases i've tried. i can give you an ftp account to one of the failing hosts in case you need it. the really strange thing is that if i upload a txt, it displays as a smaller file than the one on my pc. if i then download it via http, or download via ftp with total commander, it really downloads a smaller and different file. BUT if i download the 'smaller' file via ftp using filezilla, it downloads the original bigger file (shasum matches). if i upload files with total commander, the size is correct and it downloads the same file in all three ways (ftp@filezilla, ftp@totalcmd, http). any ideas? |

#4802 | Click becomes click-drag with Wacom tablet | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
It's almost impossible to use Filezilla with a Wacom tablet and pen, since clicking anything in the file structure almost always is misinterpreted as a click-drag (since you tend to move the pen slightly while clicking.) This results in the "Source and target are identical" error message, forcing tablet users to solely use the keyboard for navigation. |

#4816 | FTP Client File Bug! | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
For several weeks now I have been experiencing an odd sort of problem. Everytime I use Filezilla to upload website page updates, the page comes up blank. It's is not a problem caused by my hosting provider since I have already been able to upload those pages via their hosted FTP Client. Example: index.html 23kb 9/11/2009 will upload as index.html 0kb 9/11/2009. This problem is very serious because if I don't check to see if the pages uploaded correctly, then I will have sites with missing pages. Thank you in advance for taking care of this problem. |

#4859 | Remote Site Directory Listing shows incorrect date in FileZilla Client 3.1 and higher | new | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
I have several people who use FileZilla to connect to an SFTP site on a Core FTP Server on a Windows XP SP3 Dell computer. This is occurring on several different computers in several versions of FileZilla - definitely from 3.2 up and I believe at least one person has 3.1.x. The computers are all running Windows XP SP3 and are up to date on patches. The problem does not occur in older versions of Filezilla such as version 2.2.8d. When the file is downloaded, it has the correct date. The incorrect dates on the folder start with 12/31/2009 and go through 12/15/1970. The correct dates for the folders begin with 10/21/2008 and go through 10/5/2009. Please let me know if you need any additional information. Thank you. |

#4863 | Ability to change Server process priority | closed | Feature request | high | FileZilla Server
Description |
This one would be a very useful feature especially considering I've seen FZ server use up to 12% CPU on high load. Because the server runs in the background it's always activated. So I don't want it arbitrarily slowing down my computer when I'm doing something intensive. Also I know there are those people out there who would like to have it the other way around and use their server at high prio on dedicated machines. I don't know what language FZ is written in but in VB it's dead easy to implement such a feature with SetPriorityClass. All itwould need is an entry to read and write to in the .ini advertising the feature, an option with the priority somewhere in the UI, (Realtime, AboveNormal, Normal, BelowNormal, and Low) and a bit of code that would apply the setting at two points - on startup and on saving settings. Sounds like fifteen minutes of work. Many thanks. |

#4881 | Downloading failes, not renaming - charset issue (iso-8859-1) | closed | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
First of all: I have read http://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Character_Set and you could reject this request simply based on the fact that UTF-8 isn't used. However, please read on. The problem is that renaming works, but downloading fails. I would have understood if both failed. This inconsistent behavior seems strange and is a bug in my view. The server is a CentOS 4.7 with OpenSSH 3.9p1. It's using iso-8859-1 as default charset. When FileZilla connects, it deactivates UTF-8 (because the output of the ls command contains illegal characters I guess - a test file named "æøå.txt"). When I try to download the file "æøå.txt", it fails: Command: get "æøå.txt" "C:\Documents and Settings\Hans\Desktop\æøå.txt" Error: /home/hans/æøå.txt: open for read: no such file or directory However, renaming works: Command: mv "æøå.txt" "æøa.txt" Status: /home/hans/æøå.txt -> /home/hans/æøa.txt It's probably my lack of knowledge when it comes to the SFTP protocol, that makes this behavior weird to me. Thanks for your time and effort - FileZilla is great! Regards, Hans |

I've set my preferences for up/download to : overwrite if file is newer/filesize is different. Why then does filezilla, since 3.8, keeps asking me for confirmation/filename change before overwriting? Description |
After being downloaded some files have twice the size of the original and indicated size such as 30.2MB instead of 15.1MB. These files work normally, if exe or zip or pdf files but they are excessively large. During progress report the % indicator arrives at 100% downloaded when the expected file size has been transferred but the transfer process just continues while the progress indicator remains at 100%. The issue has been haunting me for a while but not from the beginning. At some update the issue first disappeared but then returned. I just updated to 3.2.8.1 but that didn't help. #4893 | Security on public computer - feature request | closed | Feature request | high | FileZilla Client
Description |
It would be great if there were an option (when the program is installed!) to automatically clear the history when the program is closed. This would be very helpful because the option could not be changed by any user because they can't install software, and each person's personal information (connect password etc.) would be safe as soon as the program is closed. I work at a school and this feature would be great. The reason I'm asking for a high priority is that it's currently a security risk for students to access one another's personal drive space if they forget to clear their connect info. Thanks. |
