No shortcut key to open files. The option is there but shortcut key is not there. So i have to click on the file, then right click and click on Open to open a file.
For eg. in CuteFTP you select a file and then by pressing Control + E it opens the file with the associated application. Same functionality is required in FileZilla also with other related shortcut keys and their functions.

What are you talking about? I use FZ 3.2 and hitting enter downloads the file instead of view/edit! So this must be high priority. I feel pain in my wrist because of mouse right click, click on view/edit. :(

I agree. For example:
F4, Ctrl+E for editing
Ctrl+R for reloading
F5 for copying (Norton Commander style) or reloading (Windows Explorer style, then you need another shortcut for "transfer")

Yeah guys, i agree as well. To have to right click and choose View/Edit makes it very uncomfortable to use while using FZ as much as i do. It's a bit unfortunate.
Please bump it a little. Shortcuts really do make life of real user quite easier..

What is the keyboard shortcut to view / edit file?

p.s. - it would be a beautiful thing if I had the ability to customize my own hotkey, maybe to F4, or replace CTRL + E or even CTRL (or ALT) + ~

a shortcut for View/Edit would be beautiful. hoping to hear a positive news regarding this ticket
The way FZ opens a file is much simpler. It is just like windows explorer. Either double click, or click and hit enter. Why would you want anything else?
