#3522 | Site manager settings not imported on upgrade from v2 to v3 | closed | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
Installation under windows 2000 using the installer. Using v2.2.16 with some sites configurations registered under the site manager, I was disappointed on upgrade to not find my saved entries with v3.03 and v3.010. Hopefully v2.2.16 was still there to read the entries and copy and past to v3. |

#3524 | .xml file problem | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I use a media player that uses an .xml file for the playlist. I tried uploading three instances of the player to some webspace last evening. None of the three would work. I have another instance of the player on the space that I had uploaded probably with a 2.xx version of FileZilla. I finally traced the problem down to the playlist which is an .xml file. When I was reasonably certain that the problem was with the .xml file I got FireFTP and uploaded my playlists with that program. The players all work with playlists uploaded with FireFTP. I have two computers and I tried with both computers. To check I uploaded the files using FileZilla 3.0.10. All the players broke again. Reuploading the files with FireFTP fixed the players again. My Computers both run Windows XP Home OS. They are Core 2 Duo computers with 2GB of ram. I had version 3.0.5 running when I first encountered the problem. I checked for updates and updated to 3.0.10. I have attached one of the .xml files. I did not download one of the broken ones to compare. |

#3525 | Renaming the distant file crashes Filezilla | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I did it again. Actually, I was wrong saying that renaming the remote file did freeze the computer. It only crashed Filezilla, but everything got very slow for 2 or 3 minutes. I did set the debug on verbose, but couldn't get any indication, and after the crash of Filezilla, nothing seems to remain. This time, I did upload a file, then right-clicked to rename : it crashed. After that, I disconnected / reconnected my computer to the distant server, then only tried to rename the file that was on it (right-click). It crashed Filezilla all the same. When you first said that the "issue had been fixed", was it about that ? (before "ooops, wrong button" ?) If yes, do you have an idea about the time I'll have to wait for the next version (roughly, one week, one month, more ?). Thanks for your time reading me and answering my question. #3537 | Status show disconnect but transfer continues | closed | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
I'm using 3.0.11 on Vista Home Premium. This a new install of this version and I've uploaded the same file twice with similar results. After some period of time uploading, the log shows disconnected but the transfer shows to be continuing in the queue. The first time I noticed this, I reconnected and selected "resume" when I started the upload again. The result was a corrupted file. The size showing on the upload is correct but playback (it's a video file) stops long before the end. On the second upload attempt, the same disconnect happened and the queue still showed progress. I had no trouble with earlier versions, so I'll be reverting to one of those until this is fixed. |

#3544 | Upgrade of FileZilla deleted sitemanager data | closed | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
To put this angry bug report in context, let me first of all, thank you gentlemen for making free software for me! Opening filezilla today I was asked to upgrade to the newest filezilla. I am not sure it gave me the possibility of choosing not to upgrade, but probably it did. It should please do so more prominently. Nevertheless, I would maybe have chosen to upgrade even if I could choose not to. Upgrading caused the following disadvantages to me that together add up to so much inconvenience that I would greatly have preferred not to upgrade.
I do not know what improvements are in the newest filezilla, but I was quite happy with the old version I have, so I venture to guess that I would have been happier without your latest "improvements" to filezilla. Yours sincerely, Tommy Olesen |

#3548 | "Target file already exist" error | closed | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
Queued a whole bunch of files, basically to backup the entire site to harddisk. Several occasions, I got the "Target file already exist" error as in the screenshot included. I'm downloading /httpdocs/cn/divisions/seals/arrow/01arrow.htm to c:\random.com\httpdocs\cn\divisions\seals\arrow\01arrow.htm And I get a pop-up that target file exists... but it's displays: Source file: /httpdocs/cn/divisions/seals/arrow01arrow.htm There's a "/" missing in the Source file. But when I choose the Overwrite action. The correct file is downloaded onto the harddisk. This prompt shouldn't be popping up in the first place anyway, since this is a download to a fresh directory. There shouldn't be an existing file in the target location. |

#3549 | Cannot connect to server | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
After I got notified of the 3.0.11 update and installed it, I tried connecting to my server on the same segment of LAN, but couldn't get any connection at all with FileZilla. I can get through fine by pinging and PuTTY, I can even get FTP files from it with Firefox (but it's so awkward!), but with FZ, a tcpdump on the other host doesn't show a single packet getting to it. Now, I don't know my MS Windows administration as well as the *nix, but the built-in XP firewall claims to be completely off, and I'm pretty sure there's nothing else of the sort on here. I certainly haven't deliberately installed such a thing lately, and I haven't seen any popups asking to allow network access lately. This is on a MS Windows XP Media Center box, with SP2 but I'm holding off on SP3 yet. Here's its "about": FZ 3.0.11 Compiled for: i586-pc-mingw32msvc Compiled on: x56_64-unknown-linux-gnu Build date: 2008-06-15 Compiled with: i586-mingw32msvc-gcc (GCC) 4.2.1-sjlj (mingw32-2) Compiler flags: -g -O2 -Wall -g -fexceptions Level 3 log attached. |

Description |
I am not sure if this is a bug of the new version of Filezilla or it's just on my server that has a problem. This situation only occured after I updated my version of Filezilla. When I uploaded files to my server, and when the server got disconnected, the Filezilla tried to reconnect but instead of continuing to where it has left, it started uploading back from the beginning. That means the upload restarts from zero and I can't finish uploading files every time I get disconnected. I have a Windows Vista Home Premium. |

#3567 | On z/OS - unable to switch from HFS to MVS file listing | closed | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
If z/OS server is set to default to HFS (Unix) the client is unable to switch to normal MVS file system. It appears that there is a mistake with the FileZilla directory information. If a user is in HFS the CWD prefixes with a "/". To go to native MVS file system the client should drop the "/" prefix. Here's some info from the log; Command: CWD /'tsospw3.' Trace: CFtpControlSocket::OnReceive() Response: 550 CWD cmd failed : EDC5129I No such file or directory. (errno2=0x05190050) What I entered in the "Remote site:" box was; 'tsospw3.' If I "Enter custom command" here's the log; Command: cwd 'tsospw3.' Trace: CFtpControlSocket::OnReceive() Response: 250 "TSOSPW3." is the working directory name prefix. However, even though I can do the custom command the GUI interface stuff still insists on using the "/" prefix. It seems that if a user enters something in the "Remote site:" box that is a single quoted (') string the Filezilla client should NOT attempt to prefix the string with the front slash (/). |

#3568 | SVN directories filter should include _svn | closed | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
Developers unfortunate enough to use Visual Studio 2003 can't use .svn directories, so there's a hack built into SVN/TortoiseSVN to use _svn directories instead. The "CVS and SVN directories" filter in the default filters collection should include _svn directories as well. This should probably only apply to Windows installations, though I can imagine situations where these files make there way onto non-windows systems before uploading. Here's the modified filter, taken from C:\Program Files\FileZilla FTP Client\resources\defaultfilters.xml in FZ 3.0.11: ---

#3570 | Speed limit settings should be connection specific | closed | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
The speed limits are a good option to get sure that the bandwith of a remote connection is not consumed completely by an FTP download or upload. The settings are now Filezilla global but additionally they should be also connection specific. Why? I have the following problem: I am sitting in a centre that is connected to several stations. Some of them are connected over satellite links, others are connected with high speed internet. In case I want to download files over a satellite link I have to ensure that the common productional traffic is not constricted by the FTP download. Therefore I have to use the speed limit. But this speed limit is not useful when downloading over a high speed internet link. Reconfiguring the speed limits before each download is very error-prone. Therefore the speed limit setting should be connection specific. |

Version 3.0.11.1, Win XP When uploading a file, I drag it from the local folder into the upload folder. If I drop it in a space in the same row as a subfolder in the remote site window, the file goes into that subfolder. I believe it should go in the current folder as putting it in the subfolder has undesirable consequences - uploading to a folder with lots of subfolders and maybe one file becomes tricky, and its easy to upload files to random subfolders without realising. |

#3599 | FileZilla 3.0.11.1 doesn't run on OS X Tiger | closed | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
FileZilla_3.0.11.1 doesn't load. The nightly on July 13, 08 doesn't work either. Yes, I checked to see I downloaded the Intel version since I run on a Yonah based MacBook Pro. Starting from terminal enlightens us with this, "FileZilla.app/Contents/MacOS/filezilla; exit dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libiconv.2.dylib
Trace/BPT trap logout" It looks like Tiger 10.4, my OS X version, has a dated library. I assume this version of FileZilla works with the new release of OS X 10.5, Leopard, because it's bound to have a newer version of the library. Support for Tiger should be kept (it's not terribly old!), and could easily be done by providing the library in a self-contained package. NextStep introduced this idea to OS X. Thus, packages are supposed to be distributed with dependencies self-contained, and simmilar to what PC-BSD now does with their .pbi packages. This would necessitate two packages, one for Tiger, and another for Leopard. OS: OS X 10.4 MacIntel Comp: MacBook Pro with the Yonah processor |

FTP client fails when connecting to a FANUC robot. Before, I was using Filezilla 3.0.2.1, and everything was working great. I upgraded to 3.0.11.1 today and now it doesn't work. FANUC documentation claims support for 2.2.31. FANUC uses a default directory: "md:\". So when you log in you are not at "\", but at "md:\". Maybe this is causing the error? #3601 | Resume big files | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I use vsftpd as ftp server. Vsftpd does not have any limitation with the size of files and it permits to resume downloads of large files. I have tried KFTPGrabber and this allows me to stop/resume downloading files larger than 4GB. However, the same situation with FileZilla tells me: "The server does not allow resume files over 4 GB". This is not true! |

#3602 | Simultaneous connections | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hey all. FileZilla Version 3.0.11.1 (and before) have a little bug in the use of simultaneous connections. We're tested FileZilla with 2 simultaneous connections but he really uses 3 simultaneous connections (one too much). Same if you use 3 simultaneous connections, FileZilla try to use 4 simultaneous connections. If your server doesn't allow more than 3 simultaneous connections you get an error. Would be nice, if anyone could look for this and fix it. |

#3604 | Large Directory List - Files in wrong folders | closed | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
Downloaded a large directory list comprising 2700 folders and 10000 files by just dragging the parent dir into the local pane. The parent folder contains about 110 alphabetically ordered sub-folders (refer to as "individual site folder"), which themselves contain other sub folders and the actual files. Unfortunately, at approx 25% into the queue filezilla has started putting the wrong files/folders in the wrong "individual site folder". I have repeated the download with the same result. I could not identify the reasons, and there appeared to be nothing special about the folders where this occurred. I did find empty files named '_vti_cnf.log' (I'm downloading from some webhosting) but these appeared even in folders that downloaded correctly. Tried setting a filter on this file then reprocessing the queue but it did not fix the download error. What's interesting is that even after the errors start appearing, some correct files will appear in the correct folders but the folder it will have, for instance a file named aboutus.htm from the previous folder. However, the errors are not confined to files that are of the same name across different folders. It is also moving uniquely named files onto the 'next' folder.

#3607 | minimized app doesn't always restore window | closed | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
These instructions require FileZilla to already be set up to edit/view files in an editor (or such). General Behavior: When a file is saved (done editing) FileZilla will pop up a dialog box asking to send it to the server. Current Behavior: If the app/main-window is minimized, sometimes the app will display the "send to server" dialog in the upper left corner of the screen, and not restore the window when the dialog is dismissed. Sometimes it works as described below: Expected Behavior: If the window is minimized, the app should *always* bring up the application-window first, *then* show the dialog. There are no issues if the FileZilla client is already restored, just not focused (is behind other windows, etc). SYSTEM: Windows XP, SP2+ (all updates) APP VERSION: FileZilla (Client) 3.0.11.1 |

Description |
I'm new to running FileZilla so this maybe the way it goes. Doesn't seem intuitive to me, though, and can't find a related bug listed. Not sure if it's a build issue or not. Gateway MT6840 centrino duo lappy on a hard line from the router. Vista Home premium... can't seem to find the damn version numbers but it's been kept updated. FileZilla 3.0.11.1 updated from 3.0.11 via pop up alert. I've got files on a remote server that is running right now. 1gig file transfer started off by marking/highlighting the file on the remote location tree and identifying the location on my local drive for the destination. Right click "download" and the transfer started. I leave it to run and when I return I see only this in the remote file location window: <Not connected to any server> This is odd because the file transfer que seems to be still active and I'm 79% and counting along the way towards full download. Web browsing continues as normal indicating web connection. Not sure if this is enough info or not. I hope so. Thanks Dave |

#3611 | Cannot recover from damaged queue.xml | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
While downloading files with Filezilla, my C: harddrive got full. When I terminated Filezilla, this resulted in a incompletely saved queue.xml file (see attachment). After restoring additional space on drive C:, Filezilla was not able to recover from the damaged file. When starting Filezilla, it complaines that the file cannot be rad/parsed. When terminating Filezilla, it complains that the file cannot be read/parsed, and did not save the current queue, which was then completely lost. I had to manually delete the queue.xml to make Filezilla working again. Filezilla should be able to recover by itself. For example, it could ask the user if it should overwrite the damaged queue.xml file during save, or it could automatically overwrite it during save. At termination, I don't see why Filezilla must read the queue.xml before it is saving the queue, the content will be overwritten anyway. |
