#8903 Last modified date on server displaying future date high outdated 11 years 11 years
Description

Since I upgraded to FileZilla 3.7.3, all files uploaded to the server AND those created on the server outside of FileZilla are displaying with an incorrect (future) date.

A file created locally and uploaded to the server today (09/06/2013 @ 14:33:59) using FileZilla is showing a last mod date of 04/30/2014 16:59:23.

I can verify the actual server attributes on the file as today:

Directory DSA1:[BSVCCTR.RGAJEWSKI] AOC_CAT_FILE.QZS;2 2/8 6-SEP-2013 14:33:59.62 AOC_CAT_FILE.QZS;1 2/8 6-SEP-2013 14:31:04.98

My server timezone offset is set to 0 hours, 0 minutes.

If the "preserve timestamps" option is selected, downloads keep the displayed date/time (04/30/2014).

If the "preserve timestamps" option is not selected, downloads use the current date/time (as expected).

#9065 Large file uploads to 100% and fails normal rejected 11 years 11 years
Description

When I upload a file it uploads fully then restarts the upload infinitely. It will not save to location. I've tried all the different options for "action after queue completion" but none seem to let the fully uploaded file enter my directory.

#8934 Cannot access FileZilla Server from FileZilla Client normal outdated 11 years 11 years
Description

I'm using FileZilla client version 3.7.3 and trying to connect to a FTP server. I can connect to the server just fine manually via command shell FTP from my system. I can tell it's running FileZilla server because the output of 'remotehelp server' tells me so.

My FileZilla client never shows folders/files in the remote pane. There's just a message that says 'Not connected to any server'. During the connect process the activity log shows the following and just keeps re-attempting over and over again:

Status: Connecting to [IP Address]... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Response: 220- Response: 220-* Response: 220 * Command: USER [the user] Response: 331 Password required for [the user] Command: PASS Response: 230 Logged on Command: CLNT FileZilla Error: Could not connect to server

The settings on my client are..... General Tab: Ftp Protocol, Use Plain FTP, Logon Type is Normal. Username & Password set. Advanced Tab: Default (AutoDetect) for server. Nothing else set. Transfer Settings: Transfer mode is Default. Nothing else set. Charset: autodetect. Nothing else set.

#4307 550 Prohibited file name: .pureftpd-upload + critical error + contact admin in forum low rejected 15 years 10 years
Description

We exchanged today through my filezilla client with a trusty friend some data (video + audio video files the day before). We had both the password for this common server on my machine (he is in paris me in the south west of france, 2 different locations and machines), ready that we were to only use it for this exchange and re-configurate later the server. Unfortunately, when i deleted the whole files, it remained 2 in a "prefs" of the public_html: 550 Prohibited file name: .pureftpd-upload.49a01112.15.4127.1db34fbf and .pureftpd-upload.49a00928.15.1f63.841bf5d1, both cant be retrieved in anyways, match my whole hard disk when compared to the local server (which ever is selected); cannot delete or rename them. As well, trying to upload these files got me a critical error. DESPITE IT, WE HAD NO PB TRANSFEERING THE FILES ONE WAY OR THE OTHER (but is this procedure allowed? i doubt it ... now).

I would like to know: -if this procedure is allowed or forbidden -if i can change my password keeping the same host name on the local server -if these 2 files may harm or not the security of the exchanges (in normal conditions and in case i could change my password)

  • if they could have been introduced here to hack voluntarly my server a3356674 hosted @ 216.108.235.38 (distant) or if it is just a consequence of a dysfunctional connexion and exchange;
  • if i order to sharpen risks in the future i should prefer to open a new account (new host name)?

I should add that i can delete with no pb my other accounts, one being hosted at the same root, with the same name of server a3356674, presenting the same characteristic, and this one too (it was unchanged when i reinstall filezilla and reconnect my local server)

I ask you to forgive me for this way to practice filezilla (i know pass exchange is never a safe way), but were not very used to it and it was a pretty much emergent work, that finaly we success to provide in the deadlines, and with the only help of this very practical soft i wish to keep in my favourites...

#4063 Unable to open .text files with Windows FileZilla Client normal worksforme 15 years 10 years
Description

Windows FileZilla Client 3.1.6 is not able to open .text files. If I select a file with an extension "text" and right click to try to open or edit the file, I get the error "The file 'C:\temp\file.text' could not be opened: No program has been associated on your system with this file type." I have added .text to the windows registered file types and notepad to open them. The icon for notepad shows in the FileZilla window. I have also added the file type to FileZilla - "Edit", "Settings", "Transfers", "File Types". This happens in both the "Local site" and Remote site".

#4743 Client program overrides most Windows based programs and will not uninstall high outdated 15 years 10 years
Description

I had an old version of Filezilla (2.1.12?) and used the menu Help/Check For Updates to upgrade :-

1) This downloaded FileZilla_3.2.7-rc3_win32-setup.exe from sourceforge. 2) I uninstalled the old version using the uninstall option in the program folder. 3) I ran the new .exe file to install. 4) Running this new version said that there was a later version to install, so downloaded this. This was a file called FileZilla_3.2.7_win32-setup.exe. 5) Trying to install this however, fails. Running any Filezilla exe file now just starts Filezilla itself. This includes the uninstall program (from the program folder or directly from the file). 6) I now cannot run several programs, as Filezilla client starts in the place of them. An initial list (but not exhaustive) is below :- Run/cmd (DOS command line window) Control panel/Add/remove programs Notepad Windows Media Player Calculator 7) Some programs start alongside Filezilla, eg Firefox. 8) The only program (so far) that runs alone is Microsoft Outlook.

I have a logfile at debug level 3, but it is empty as no processes have been carried out within Filezilla itself.

I notice that a download from filezilla-project.org now downloads from cloudfront.net.

Please, is there a patch for this?

#5421 md5sum of files over 2gb changed normal outdated 14 years 10 years
Description

after downloading a file using filezilla (the file was 10gb)and checking the md5sum of the file, the md5sum of the resultant file differed from the md5sum of the original file. whats more the file differed at byte 2147483648, the point the filesize would overflow a signed 32 bit integer. i have re-downloaded the orignal file using ssh on linux (opposed to how it was originally downloaded using filezilla on 32 bit windows server 2003) and the md5sum matches, i transfered it to the windows machine using samba and the md5sum STILL matches, which takes windows out of the equation as the source of the corruption. also being that it occurred AT 2147483648, corruption from download seems unlikely.

#1250 Cannot get directory listing from z/VM 5.1 (implicit SSL) normal 17 years 10 years
Description

I am trying to make a connection to an IBM z890 mainframe running z/VM 5.1 with implicit SSL/TLS encryption. After the connection is made, a 'LIST -a' command is sent to get the directory listing. '-a' is invalid on a z/VM server. Filezilla does not send a '-a' operand to a z/OS server with explicit TLS. Why is the '-a' used for FTP with implicit SSL/FTP? Is this some requirement of implicit SSL/TLS that IBM is ignoring?

#3795 Filezilla Client Not Working with z/VM 5.3 in SSL Mode normal rejected 16 years 10 years
Description

The Windows Filezilla client fails when connecting to a z/VM 5.3 FTP server configured for SSL and FIPS. The z/VM 5.3 FTP server is written to use RFC1123. I have tested Filezilla versions 3.0.9, 3.1.2, and 3.1.3 with the same results. I'm able to successfully connect to the z/VM 5.3 FTP server using the Linux "ftp-ssl" client, the WS_FTP client, the Hummingbird FTP client, and the z/OS FTP client.

#7803 Wrong date - Same problem as Ticket #3698 high duplicate 13 years 10 years
Description

Same problem as Ticket #3698

I get wrong date when listing the remote directory. sFTP on FreeFTPd ver 1.0.11 on win 2003 SP2 FileZilla Client is 3.5.1 running on windows 7 FreeFTPd is 1.0.11 on win 2003 SP2

From the log:

Command: pwd Response: Current directory is: "/" Command: ls Status: Listing directory / Status: Calculating timezone offset of server... Command: mtime "2010-08-17" Response: 4294967295 Status: Timezone offsets: Server: 1293629340 seconds. Local: 7200 seconds. Difference: -1293622140 seconds. Status: Directory listing successful

The dates listed in FileZilla is wrong. 2011-10-28 are listed as 1970-04-04. It can possibly be a problem in FreeFTPd, but WinSCP lists it correct. In WinSCP there is a switch "Misinterprets file stamps prior to 1970". This is set to Auto in my case. Would this be possible to implement in FileZilla?

#3706 Recurrent error message and disconnection from ftpperso.free.fr normal rejected 16 years 10 years
Description

Hello,

I've always had the problem described in Ticket #3126 when connecting to ftpperso.free.fr. Contrary to what's written in ticket #3126, the problem is not fixed in recent versions of FileZilla. Worse still, this causes numerous timeouts, and/or disconnections from that server (Which hosts all user home pages of the most popular ISP in France). This is really annoying to have to click the [R] button to reconnect every time.

Status: Resolving address of ftpperso.free.fr Status: Connecting to 212.27.63.3:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Response: 421 Vous ne pouvez avoir que 2 connexions simultannees Error: Could not connect to server Response: 421 No Transfer Timeout (45 seconds): closing control connection. #8295 Crash after entering host containing forward slash normal fixed 12 years 10 years
Description

FileZilla crashes if the entered host contains a forward slash, even it is just the forward slash. This happens no matter whether I use the quickconnect bar, the site manager or the manual transfer dialog.

If the forward slash is part of the protocol prefix it does not crash, so ftp://ftp.mozilla.org works and ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/ crashes.

This happens reproducibly on my desktop computer with FileZilla 3.6.0-rc1. I could not reproduce the crash with FileZilla 3.5.3 or with FileZilla 3.6.0-beta1. My environment is Windows 7 SP1 (32bit) and Windows 8 (64bit) on Intel Pentium D.

However, I could not reproduce the issue on my laptop with Windows XP SP3 on Intel Core 2 Duo.

#3495 Can't download some files Alexander Schuch normal 16 years 10 years

I am having trouble downloading certain files from my webhost. I think this has something to do with the filename itself. The filename has 1 space, a colon (:), and underscores.

I am running FileZilla 3.0.9.2 on Windows XP SP2

It is responsive enough to close down immediately if told to by Task Manager. After 30 seconds or a minute it comes back to life again. I cannot find any particular pattern to when it freezes, but it is very regular and very frustrating. This has not occurred before I upgraded to the latest version.

#4261 Character encoding bug normal rejected 15 years 10 years

Create a folder named "パーソナル" (without the quotes) on a server using the SJIS character encoding (japanese). (Mostly Microsoft Windows Japanese-hosted)

It is possible to enter into that directory, but any operation done within it produce a bug - creating something in it creates it in the parent directory, it's impossible to download files that were put in there by another user, etc.

#3394 "Too many connections" wrongly marked "Failed Transfer" normal 16 years 10 years
Description

I set my "Maximum simultaneous transfers" to 8, the max my server can handle. However, for some reason a connection or two has been opened and not closed by Filezilla (probably another bug).

At this point there are 6 existing hung connections, leaving me with 2 that should transfer. However, when I try to transfer a queue of files, two slots are used correctly, and any other files that try to use the other 6 connections get "421 Too many connections (8) from this IP", and are marked as "Failed Transfers". However, this is incorrect; they are not failed, there are simply not enough connections to transfer the files concurrently.

This is the same situation if I then transfer files to another server that only handles 4 simultaneous connections. That means that any files using the 4 connections will succeed, but any that are *attempted* using the other 4 connections will be marked as "Failed Transfer", instead of simply waiting in the queue longer. This means I have to set the "Maximum simultaneous transfers" manually for *every* server I use, and then I have to keep an eye on the Failed Transfers log for any wrongly marked failures.

Ideally, when filezilla gets the "421: too many connections" error while transferring more than one file at a time, it would simply keep that file on the queue and wait for the next available connection. This way a given max connections can be specified (say, 6) and if a server doesn't support that many the situation will be handled gracefully (all files will transfer, the max supported connections will be used) instead of how it is now (some files transfer, some don't).

I have a verbose debug log available, if needed. Thanks!

However, if a file is transfered during this session, as soon as the file is uploaded, we see about 55 seconds before the connection times out. For whatever reason, the time out seems to change after a file is uploaded.

#4740 Filezilla doesn't understand Unix soft link normal rejected 15 years 10 years
Description

Further to #4706, I believe than one CAN distinguish between links and files. May I suggest you consult manual for 'find' command? The primary test 'type' covers it.

I have created 2 links, jim and fred. As you can see from the following screen dump file type 'd' designates a directory.

comms:ttyp4 root > l -dog fred jim drwxrwxr-x 3 37376 Aug 13 11:32 fred@ -rw-r--r-- 1 12 Aug 13 11:48 jim@ comms:ttyp4 root > l -dogWv fred jim drwxrwxr-x 3 37376 Aug 13 11:32 fred -> ../another_directory -rw-r--r-- 1 12 Aug 13 11:48 jim -> jim.txt

Once Filezilla has established the Unix type of the resolution file it should be straightforward to recreate the equivalent in Windows.

#3335 ftp keepalive only work for 30 minutes normal 16 years 10 years
Description

FTP keepalive function only work for 30 minutes. If really no any action by user, after 30 minutes, FZ3 will stop to send keepalive command.

I check the code in CFtpControlSocket::StartKeepaliveTimer(), it will check the value of m_lastCommandCompletionTime, but m_lastCommandCompletionTime won't be update for keepalive command, so it will stop after 30 minutes.

Is this a bug or just by design?

#4512 Filezilla client over ftp proxy high rejected 15 years 10 years
Description

since the last 3 versions of filezilla client we experience that if we use an ftp proxy ( witch we are obligated ) to connect to the internet FTP servers that downloads from ftp servers resume over the actual filesize. Meaning that if you download a file of say about 300MB it doesn't stop at 300MB it always gives an error message at the end of the file concerning retry and it starts downloading the file from scratch. But it still gives the download completion as "> 100%" and this goes on and on untill you end the download. After enough searching I stumbled on the fact that it was related to Filezilla client. I tried the same setup with another software like Core FTP LE and there the file just ends at his size and is saved.

Can you investigate this,

#4892 double download high rejected 15 years 10 years
Description

After being downloaded some files have twice the size of the original and indicated size such as 30.2MB instead of 15.1MB. These files work normally, if exe or zip or pdf files but they are excessively large. During progress report the % indicator arrives at 100% downloaded when the expected file size has been transferred but the transfer process just continues while the progress indicator remains at 100%.

The issue has been haunting me for a while but not from the beginning. At some update the issue first disappeared but then returned. I just updated to 3.2.8.1 but that didn't help.

#1378 Errors opening Access files normal 16 years 10 years

I get error dialogues when trying to run Access files from Filezilla. After the several popups, the database properly opens. The errors I get from rightclicking an mdb file and selecting Open are:

1. The Command line you used to start Microsoft Office Access contains an option that Microsoft Office Access doesn't recognize.

Exit and restart Microsoft Office Access using valid command-line options.

2. Failed to create connection to server 'Msaccess' on topic 'ShellSystem': a client's attempt to establish a conversation has failed.

This happens in version 3.0.8

#3796 FileZilla tries to read floppy drive on startup low rejected 16 years 10 years
Description

This is more an annoyance than a bug, but I'd imagine it would affect anyone who has a floppy drive installed on their PC.

It seems that all versions >= 3.0 try to read my floppy drive on startup. The application does not respond until the drive light goes off. This obviously makes the application slow to load, every time.

#910 Usability: Pausing transfers / File List normal outdated 19 years 10 years
Description

It is difficult and frustrating to pause an upload / download over a set of files.

Steps:

  1. Begin a transfer with small files [ ~ 20kb each, ie,

webpages ]

  1. Scroll down
  2. Select multiple files [ more than 20 ]
  3. Pause.

Expected: Filezilla lets me pause the files I selected and doesn't mess with the UI.

Actual: I can't maintain the selection I had, because as soon as one uploads, the list recenters the view - despite me being in the middle of selecting things. I lose the highlighted files I had and have to start over. I can't select a lot of files at once. I can't sort the list, despite clickable heading buttons [whcih would suggest i could]. I get frustrated by having to select 5 files, pause them, unfocus them, select 5 more. I cannot pause a collection of files if any of them are already paused. So, if I highlight ONE file that's already paused, I can't change the other ones. The same applies if a file has messed up during transfer [ I can't pause failed files ].

Solutions: These bugs make it unpleasant to use filezilla because I'm wary of making a mistake, dropping in the wrong directory to upload. If this area was *bigger* by default, and did not move when I had my mouse in there AND let me set states that are already set [ie, ignore those items], I would be a much happier user.

Details:

  • Windows 7
  • Running FileZilla v3.5.3
  • Running app as administrator and not doesn't matter

Also, I had a previous image on this same machine before that ran FZ with no issues.

#4946 more than 1 connection to server blocker outdated 15 years 10 years
Description

If I try to transfer files to or from a server that only accepts one connection to the server i continuously get disconnected and reconnected with the status message 421 I can't accept more than 2 connections as the same user. i think the way this could be fixed is to add a checkbox in the Site manager that disables more than 2 connections. another suggestion: you can make filezilla automatically change the state of the checkbox (permanently, not temporary) to checked when it finds at least two 421 errors per connection.

Also can someone put a move and copy function into filezilla, for working with files on the server side? thanks!
