#4515 | Port change doesn't take effect until FZ client restart. | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I use filezilla to connect to a FTP server (NAS drive) in the office LAN. Sometimes we change the port that the NAS FTP Server hears. These are the steps:
I have only tested this in a local FTP server with 2 devices (a Lacie NAS and a Freecom NAS). I have not tried with a server in Internet. Best regards, and thanks for your software, from Spain. |

#4517 | file list not being updated | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Server
Description |
after creating a user and assigning a folder to that user, we add files to the folder. When the user logs in for the first time through the FTP client there are no files or folders listed. This happens through the firewall as well as locally on the same intranet with no firewall between the client and server. I can delete the user account and recreate it with the same home directory and the next time the user logs in with the FTP client the files show up. It seems to be an issue with Filezilla not showing updates to a folder after the user is created. We have connected with the Filezilla client as well as Windows Explorer client. |

#4519 | Occassionally doesn't stop downloading | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
This was posted years ago, but was listed as closed and fixed years ago also. Occasionally, when downloading a file, it will reach 100%, pause, then continue downloading. I also noticed the possibility listed that the server could be sending out the wrong file size, but I have also set up my own FTP server and was able to replicate the problem. In this instance, the file size reported was correct, just a couple megabytes, but continued to over 5 gigabytes. |

#4528 | Files on Linux servers with names containing symbols not allowed in Windows file names don't download correctly. | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
While downloading files from my Linux based CubeRevo STB/PVR I discovered that when file names contain symbols not allowed in Windows file names (colon, for example), resulting file name gets truncated from the first symbol (including extension) and file itself is 0 bytes and therefore unusable. So "FORMULA 1: The Factory.trp" gets downloaded as "FORMULA 1" and is 0 bytes in size. After renaming file on the server, everything works, but obviously it's not the option when you don't happen to have sufficient privileges. Regards, RR |

#4530 | Accessibility events missing from the file lists in Gtk+ version | new | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Steps to reproduce:
Expected results: Some* event would be issued each time the selection changes to inform assistive technologies of this fact. Actual results: No events whatsoever seem to be issued when the selection changes. As a result, *nix users who are blind cannot use Filezilla.
I'm using Filezilla version 3.2.4 from http://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Unofficial_Binaries. Note that I started building the latest from trunk using the instructions for OpenSolaris on your wiki, but I was not successful. However, in looking at the list of changes on your wiki, I came across: http://filezilla.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/filezilla?view=rev&revision=3159. Therefore on a Ubuntu Jaunty box, I got the latest "Successful" nightly snapshot (2009-05-21). I'm still not seeing any accessibility events when the selection changes. :-( If I'm missing something, please let me know. Otherwise, thanks in advance for looking at this issue! |

#4559 | Command line sftp - Interactive prompt for User and/or password | closed | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hello, When starting Filezilla sftp sessions using command-line, a feature to force Filezilla to interactively prompt in dialog for user and/or password at start. This would be very usefull when starting Filezilla connections from other applications/Infrastructure databases. If for security reasons, you do NOT want to supply the password on the command line or in a site definition. Currently (v3.2.4.1) Filezilla command-line sftp, if user/password i omitted, Filezilla just tries with empty fields (or anonymous?) Case 1 Running: "C:\Program Files\FileZilla Client\filezilla.exe" sftp://hostname:22 Feature: Filezilla prompts interactively in dialog for user and password. Case 2 Running: "C:\Program Files\FileZilla Client\filezilla.exe" sftp://root@hostname Feature: Filezilla prompts interactively in dialog for password. Proposed solutions: 1a. Change default connection option to "Interactive" when user and/or password is NOT in command-line 1b. Add argument (ex "-i" for interactive) that force Filezilla to interactively prompt for user/password. (Any command/line supplied user/password could be entered as suggestion)
Thank you! Best Regards Mikael Koniakowski |

When using TLS it does not support "client authentication". In principle this comprises (at least for the client) only the sending of a client certificate to the server and nothing more. Could this feature be added? You will make my day! |

#4573 | Old feature back: the -u switch | closed | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
in filezilla 2 we could schedule an upload task and have filezilla execute it then close its self with ease. The reasons why it was removed baffle me. Its a rather effortless feature that would make filezillas, threading, comaprison and stability all the more useful. There is nothing that would compare to filezilla for such tasks if it had this feature. I've spent over 40h looking for a good incremental ftp backup tool. So far the best one is filezilla, even without automated backups. Programs like bonkey take ages to compare files and they do not thread uploads. It takes bonkey 24 minutes to update a folder without changes, while filezilla takes only 21 seconds with threading enabled. This is a minute change that goes a long way and would make a world of difference. If you refuse it please tell me something that can do threaded incremental updates to folders through FTP and takes command line options. |

Navigation: Edit -> Settings... -> Update Check Please note: this was originally posted as ticket:4588 but was closed as being a duplicate of ticket:4508. It isn't, however: behind our firewall we bypass the proxy server, so setting the global proxy settings actually disables access to all sites within our intranet. Separate settings for Update Check (separate from global proxy settings) would resolve this problem. I'm sure many others have the same problem. Thanks - and keep up the good work:-) |

#4609 | Filezilla Server does not accept connections on server startup or reboot | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Server
Description |
I have installed 0.9.3.1 beta on Windows Server 2003. I have it running as a system service. After install and setup I had no issues connecting with either an FTP client or via the FileZilla Server Administration Console. After rebooting the server, FileZilla Server doesn't accept connections from the administration console. The administration console run locally shows that it has connected to the server and then says "connected, waiting for authentication" It stops there. If I run the administration console on another machine it can't connect to the server at all. This can be resolved if I go into Task Manager on the server and kill the FileZilla Server.exe process, then start the FileZilla Server service either by going to services.msc or using the shortcut in the start menu. After I restarting the service connections are accepted normally from FTP clients, the local admin console, and an admin console run on a another computer. IIS is installed on the server but all the services related to it are set to manual and are not running (IIS Admin Service, FTP Publishing Service, HTTP SSL, World Wide Web Publishing Service). When I first discovered this problem I thought these services were at fault so I set them to manual and stopped them but it did not resolve the issue. We also have McAfee antivirus 8.5i installed and running and windows system firewall is off. |

#4623 | Issues with FTP over explicit TLS/SSL | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
We noticed a bunch of posts this morning in a forum on FTP on our contributor site. We checked our server logs and saw no issues. We tried filezilla, the version before this last update 3.2.6, and it worked fine. We also tried it with coreftp and it also worked fine. We then updated filezilla to the latest build, 3.2.6, and there seems to be some connectivity issues now. It uploads some, but not all, files, and some of the files that were uploaded show a file size of 0. There were also times where it would just freeze on upload and you would then need to refresh to get it to continueBelow is the log from my filezilla running 3.2.6 with the issues. FTP setup servertype: FTPES - FTP over explicit TLS/SSL Logontype: normal

#4624 | Permission Problems | closed | Other | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hi, I'm trying to upload a new website for a client but I'm receiving this example message: Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (213,205,40,172,131,251) Command: STOR wtdstyles.css Response: 553-Can't open that file: Permission denied Response: 553 Rename/move failure: No such file or directory Error: Critical error I'm also being denied permission when trying with Dreamweaver. Now I know the files are there and also even when I just try to create a new folder it says I do not have the permission to do so. I did not arrange the hosting and mine is a website to replace an existing one, so was it possible that the original creator denied permission for everybody but himself. Is this a common problem?, is there a simple fix?, one way or another I would really appreciate some help. Thanks, Glenn |

#4627 | Annoying password popup when upload queue fails repeatedly | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
When uploading a file, if the FTP server closes the connection, FileZilla client asks me for my password in a popup for immediate reconnection. This is annoying when the FTP server systematically closes the connection (for example because I have exceeded the limit of simultaneous connections and the server has put me on a 10 minute timeout). FileZilla's password popup steals focus from the main window so that it's impossible to stop the queue processing. Trying to close the popup just makes it open again immediately. Effectively the only way to escape the situation is to close the popup as many times as there are files on the queue. |

#4629 | Case Sensitive File Transfers/Overwrite | new | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
When transferring files to FTP servers running on platforms such as Microsoft Windows files are overwritten without warning when they have the same name but differing case. For example, when uploading a file HelloWorld.txt and then immediately uploading a second file named helloworld.txt the first file is silently overwritten by the second. At a minimum, a checkbox in the Site Manager to tell FileZilla that the server is case-insensitive would be nice. Perhaps some sort of server case-sensitivity detection could be implemented, for example, using the response from the SYST command. |

#4633 | FileZilla 3.2.6: GnuTLS issues w/ vsftpd 2.1.2 | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Client: FileZilla 3.2.6, prebuilt for Windows, linked against GnuTLS 2.8.1, running on Windows Vista x64. Server: vsftpd-2.1.2, running on RHEL-4.8, linked against OpenSSL-0.9.7a. Connecting via FTPES. FileZilla has no trouble establing control connection, but uploading/downloading files doesn't work. vsftpd says, "Failure reading network stream". Found info about GnuTLS' random padding in TLSv1.0 packets here: http://www.gnu.org/software/gnutls/manual/html_node/On-Record-Padding.html . Turning off TLSv1 support in vsftpd (that is, SSLv3 is the only SSL/TLS protocol accepted) made downloads work, but uploads still don't work; they give the same message. vsftpd logfile showing protocol exchange attached. Both downloads and uploads work with FileZilla 3.2.5, prebuilt for Windows against GnuTLS 2.6.4, against exactly the same vsftpd server. |

#4638 | Client allows only one site-specific bookmark | closed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I am currently using version 3.2.6.1 on Win XP Pro SP3 on an Intel T5500 (if that makes sense on the processor). In previous versions of Filezilla, I was able to save many site-specific bookmarks linking a local directory with a remote directory. Currently, whenever I create a new site-specific bookmark, it overwrites the previous bookmark, allowing me to store only one bookmark at a time. |

90% of my FTP traffic is to one site, and 70% is to three. I imagine that this is true for a large number of users. I would like to see the ability to define a small number (I'd be happy with two, overjoyed with 5) buttons on the same line as the Site Manager, the Message log Toggle, and others that would behave similarly to a set of "radio buttons" to select predefined sites (or bookmarks within a site) in the site manager. |

#4645 | Multiple local files with same name after download | new | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
When I download files with the same name but different cases (e.g. Readme.txt and readme.txt) from different remote directories to the same local directory you end up with two files in the local side of the client. As you know in windows file names are not case sensitive so there should only be one file. |
