Connecting to a particular server which does not respond immediately may cause the client to terminate the connection prematurely.

This is the error :

Error: Timeout detected! Error: Unable to connect!

Using another FTP client which allows me to configure the connection timeout, the connection succeeds after a while, longer than the timeout tolerated by the FileZilla client.

A longer timeout should be hardcoded or made a configure option.

"you should use the registry as storage location so that each user has it's own settings for FileZilla as well" - on the last frame of the latest installer. The apostrophe shouldn't be there.

I use Filezilla 2.2.16 on a Windows XP Pro SP2 and I've got a linux SMB server version 3.0.14a-2.1.fc4.kde. I've got some mapped drives to the SMB server and when I try to browse the mapped drive Filezilla stop responding, no re-draw, no answer for various minutes.

Sometimes (often) when you exit, quickly and maybe during transfers, the settings are lost and the site manager also.

Running latest version and there doesn't appear to be support for SSH with private/public key. You can only use passwords for SSH.

Sometimes the client tries to resume instead of overwrite the destination (my pc). That produces an error "data is invalid" or produces a larger than the original file.

Maybe it isn't necessary to LIST twice when an SFTP upload has abruptly ended and a reconnect is in order. On a modem it takes a whale of a time to do the whole shebang on two occasions.

Each time I run Filezilla, the remote tree window is disabled. I have to click on the button to display it every time. It would be great if this would come up by default (both tree windows), and if those button states (window displayed or not) would be saved so that at next run it would come up like chosen previously.

FileZilla Client fails to upload complete directories from UNC paths.

Steps to repoduce:

• Connect to remote site
• Open local UNC-based share (eg.
  somecomputer\someshare)
• Drop a folder from said local UNC-based share into

the remote site's pane

The started occuring with build 2.2.16 and exists in build 2.2.17 -- Builds prior to 2.2.16 are not affected.

This is also occurs when the local site windowpane contains an UNC path. Right-clicking a folder/directory and selecting 'Upload' does absolutely nothing.

Detail: It's 3am, you're tired. You use the edit control to alter your current location on the Remote site, but accidentally use a \ where you should have used a /. Luckily, Filezilla knows what you mean and converts it to the right slash.

When you begin to rely on that behaviour, it's extremely frustrating to attempt to do the same in the Local site control. You enter "c:/foo/bar/" and get an annoying warning.

Severity: Minor annoyance

Explanation: User relies on one behaviour which is inconsistent in other areas, causing frustration.

Solutions:

• Path box automagically swaps slashes
• Path boxes (everywhere) are like a browser's location

When connecting to a FreeBSD inbuilt ftpd (standard Berekeley release, version 6.00LS) using a password which was "29fr*2" (without the quote marks), FileZilla was unable to connect. This was when the connection was specified in the Site Manager.

However, entering the username and password in the format "user:pass@site" in the QuickConnect address bar did work.

I tried this a number of times, with version 2.2.17 and it happens every time.

If the explorer.exe is closed and restarted, the tray icon is not comming back :-( Very anoying when an transfer is allready running..

i've tested old version 2.2.14 and new 2.2.17 with same result: while downloading an iso of size ~6GB filezilla looped downloading.... dunno what. i stopped downloading when file exeeded 9GB.

i had no problem downloading file with different client.

If you are already connected to a site ("Dev") and quick connect to site ("Prod"), the title bar does not refresh to reflect the new connection.

Have been using FileZilla to access mainframe system. Have noticed a problem. z/OS is comprised of two different types of filesystems: USS (Unix System Services) HFS/ZFS that behaves much like traditional unix systems from an FTP client perspective and then there are MVS datasets. The MVS datasets are accessed in the following manner with an FTP client:

'DSNAME1.QUALIFY.THIS'

Depending on the type of dataset, this may represent an individual file or a whole directory. However, when using the GUI, if I am in the HFS location /u/home/cuppett and typing in a directory change into the GUI, it attempts to navigate to this location:

/u/home/cuppett/'DSNAME.QUALIFY.THIS'

I am asking that the pwd not get added onto the front if a special character such as ' is added to the front of the path, or perhaps if the pwd is cleared out on the remote side, pwd is never prepended to what is typed in.

I'd like to report a bug in Filezilla 2.2.17. The following is happening:

When you upload a number of files to an FTP server that already exist on the server and select "overwrite if newer" and "use this choice for all files" when prompted, any file that does not get uploaded completely (due to a transfer error) will not be uploaded again.

I assume that this is due to the choice of "overwrite if newer" - my suspicion is that when Filezilla tries to upload the file a second time, it checks the timestamp of the (partial) file on the server, discovers that it's more recent than the local timestamp, and then does not upload the file again. This is incorrect behaviour, of course: if a file is uploaded a second time after a transfer error, the timestamp should not be checked again.

I think due the escape character problem, some chinese characters of the filename/directory name are corrupted when I use FileZilla to browse my own FTP. I am not sure how I can provide more information to you.

Sometimes Filezilla RESUMES the file instead of replacing it. I was hard to find WHY. Some files have become huge, since everytime filezilla was adding (resuming) again and again.

But i found it.

One of the files was an access db, named "DUgallery.mdb". It seems that the two first capital letters were confusing Filezilla. When renamed to lower letters, everything seems ok. But it is hard to check each and every filename ....

Filezilla's "Transfer Type" setting is set to Auto, yet when i upload a coldfusion file (.cfm) which is encrypted it uploads it as the wrong type so the website falls over. This doesnt happen on some old FTP software i have (Leech)

Would be good if this was fixed on the next release?

When setting remote file attributes via the GUI, the client changes the permission set.

E.g. when setting the set-group-ID-on-execution bit, I enter "2777" in the mask of "Change file attributes" ("Dateiattribute ändern" in the german version). When applied, the client sends following FTP commands:

Befehl: SITE CHMOD 50777 /public_html/tmp Antwort: 200 SITE CHMOD command successful

Which is just plain wrong: It should execute "SITE CHMOD 2777 /public_html/tmp" instead.

For details on the group-ID-on execution bit, see the man pages for chmod.

If you have a network drive mapped to a directory on a UNIX machine, FileZilla can browse it in the "local site" window just as it can with C: etc.

But there's a problem... the UNIX filesystem is case- sensitive, so you could have X:\MyFolder and X:\myfolder as two separate folders (where X is the mapped drive). FileZilla can't handle this. When you try to view a local folder that contains two folders of the same name but different case, FileZilla hangs. It stops responding and hogs around 100% of CPU.

This was particularly bad for me, as I was viewing a folder, then I created a subfolder which had the same name but different case as an existing subfolder, (to be fair, FileZilla didn't let me do this, I had to do it on the command line), and refreshed FileZilla. Not only did it hang at that point, it proceeded to hang every time I started FileZilla... it had remembered the last local view and tried to reload it at startup.

Unfortunately it doesn't get as far as writing anything to the debug file.

A filezilla user asked me to report to you this bug:

He sees an inconsistency on how the address field is handled. When you type in just a host name, filezilla makes an FTP connection.

But in this sequence of events things are different (note: you need to use for ftp.example.com a host which supports FTP but no SFTP):

1. Start up FileZilla version 2.2.17a
2. Fill in an Address like ​sftp://ftp.example.com
3. Discover, that ftp.example.com does not support

SFTP, so Click on the STOP icon in the Toolbar.

4. Remove the ​sftp:// prefix in front and try to

connect to ftp.example.com instead. It still will not connect.

This happens, because filezilla still tries to establish connections to port 22. You would need to extend the address to ​ftp://ftp.example.com to get a connection.

This is irritating to unexperienced users, because for them it looks like the situation in step 4 is the same as if they had gone through this sequence of events:

1. Start up FileZilla version 2.2.17a
2. Fill in an Address like ftp.example.com
3. An FTP connection is set up.

Over the last week while using 2.2.17a this has happened several times while transferring large batches of files from W2K machine to a remote site via FTP -

the contents of files in a given directory are switched ... i.e. file hokum.module has the contents that should be readme.txt and vice versa.

Filezilla resumes while OVERWRITE is selected In my case the file on the host is appended to the size of the file on the client. If the size on the host is smaller or same, the file is left untouched. (The REST command starts at the host file size) This often and apparently randomly causes files to be uploaded incorrectly.

I use the file type of .stm for my SSI html files.

So I entered in FileZilla client V2.2.18 > Interface settings> File viewing / editing a file type line of :

stm %SystemRoot%\system32\notepad.exe

On right clicking on one of these files in local site filname box and choosing 'View/ Edit' I get no launch of notepad or anything happening.

I do have the default program line set to: C:\Program Files\IrfanView\i_view32.exe But not even this is launched.

So is Filezilla not aware of system variables perhaps? The use of system variables to locate program is a valid method of using.

The line stm c:\windows\system32\notepad.exe does works however. But the previous method should work too. So it's a system variable problem.

BTW, the Example help text in this windows is misleading.

Notepad.exe is no longer kept in c:\windows with XP.

Double clicked on a file in the local site file browser, then right clicked on it. While the context menu was displayed, a popup came up asking whether to overwrite the file on the remote site. UI becomes inaccessible, the only way around the lockup is to use the Windows task bar to minimize and maximize Filezilla which forces the context menu to disappear. Tested with 2.2.18

I'll try to be the more verbose possible:

• Previous version of Filezilla 2.2.17 doesn't show me

a progress bar connecting via SFTP SSH2 to a FreeBSD (SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_3.6.1p1 FreeBSD-20030924) but ran fine connecting via SFTP SSH2 to a Linux (SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_3.9p1 Debian-1ubuntu2)

• I installed 2.2.18 to see if this problem was solved

(since old versions prior to 2.2.17 showed me progress bar in both machines) but this new version runs inversely: it shows progress bar connecting to FreeBSD but not for Linux!

Using FZ 2.2.18 there is an issue when using FileZilla in HTTP 1.1 proxy mode.

The issue is caused by the use of the CONNECT verb for establishing the connection with ISA proxy.

The use of CONNECT verb cause ISA proxy to raise a 502 error related to SSL connection. Checking ISA logs, show that the proxy try to establish a tunnel for SSL... ​http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616- sec9.html#sec9.9

Using ftp with IE and Firefox browsers cause no problem. An Ethereal capture shows that the GET verb is used instead of CONNECT. But when a tcp port is entered the request is blocked by ISA too...

The values listed on Remote Site combo box are not saved after disconnecting and are lost.

When reconnecting, the server timezone configuration from last connection is not taken into account.

In downloading a 26 MB file from an FTP site the process starts and then terminates with only 2 to 4 MB downloaded. It does not report any problem with the download and implies that the entire download was successful.

Tried this many times but the result was the same.

I immediately tried accessing the FTP site with IE 6 and I sucessfully downloaded the file, hence I don't believe that the site was having a problem.

I also had the same problem about 10 days ago.

I use Filezilla to download the current release of a CMS system we have developed. I have verified that this problem is not in the download of these files but in the upload.

After download the files, I then upload the files to a domain with Filezilla. All files transfer fine and everything looks well, but when I try to access some of the files I have uploaded I get error messages from Firefox.

I then use Dreamweaver to check the script, and it appears that Filezilla has removed all of the linebreaks and whitespaces and characters spaces from many of the scripts.

I repeat I have checked the files after the download and they still have retained there formatting. It is only the uploading process that seems to cause this.

This bug has started to occur alot lately and is very quite annoying. What is happening is if i try to upload 2 files at the same time sometimes those files are named incorrectly.

For example I have 2 files, File1 and File2. If i try to upload these to at the same time. The contents of File1 gets saved as the file name of File2 and the opposite for File2 contents saved as File1.

This has occurred on several WinXP SP2 machines and even on Win2K, and doesn't matter if i'm uploading to a windows or a linux server. Most of the files i upload are graphics or text files for website (ASP,PHP,JSP,.NET, etc...)

When assigning applications for viewing/editing by file type all settings are lost on exit. (Works while current session is active)

I'm trying to run FileZilla 2.2.18 client on Windows XP PE environment, but getting the dump I'm attaching all the time.

The file permissions of folders I upload to any of my servers equals 000, if done with another client like SmartFTP it equals 755. This error occured in v2.2.17 and is also contained by v2.2.18.

Opened FZ Connected to a site When to c:\temp\xyz directory This directory has about 150 file in it Right-clicked and created a new directory "try1" under xyz Highlighted all files (not folders) in xyz and dragged them to the try1 folder. It highlighted and then I let go of the mouse. The files disappeared, as expected. The left file list pane went totally blank (no folders or files), which is unexpected. I could not get the left side to populate for any directory I clicked on in the tree. I tried reconnecting and refreshing, nothing worked except for restarting the app. Then everything showed up as expected.

I noticed this problem only when using Filezilla on a Windows XP64 machine, Nforce4 Pro, Dual Opteron. When connected with Filezilla I often transfer items and continue on to other tasks. After a period of time, my connection is automatically disconnected from the server. At some point when this happens and after I have used the connection for transferring files my dual processor usage will fly up to 60%+ (a rarity). I use sftp to connect to the remote server and I have not yet identified all of the specific conditions but it appears to continue to poll the processor with this thread until I kill that Filezilla thread.

All client FTP for linux are very bad.(gFTP,Nautilus,Konqueror,Firefox extension) Filzilla will be the best FTP for linux

If you browse to a unc path
server\c$\example

and try to drag a FOLDER in that path - it will not upload. Files seam to work.

I have had multiple problems transferring to and from various linux servers from XP with filezilla my current version is 2.2.18. this problem was noted on previous versions as well.

I have noted may other seemingly unresolved but closed complaints about this bug.

It appears the problem relates to the file being first saved to the server in binary mode, in other words the crlf pair is retained.

if you then transfer the file to a windows machine in ascii mode the file becomes corrupted.

Filezilla does not account for the crlf pair and adds an extra cr making it crcrlf so in hex 0D 0A Becomes 0D 0D 0A

This has been verified.

to repeat it upload an ascii win/dos file to a nix server in binary mode then download it in ascii mode open the file in a hex editor not the hex values as above

I beleive this is the main source of various complaints about ascii mode transfers

filezilla should check for crlf not just cr when doing the ascii nix=>win conversion. if there is a crlf pair then leave as is if there is only a lf then add the cr

eg..

MKD DIRECTORYHERE«invisible spaces» 257 "DIRECTORYHERE " created.

but if you try to rename or delete the directory you will encounter error because the command sent does not account for the spaces at the end. eg

RMD DIRECTORYHERE will fail.

however, sending manual command

RMD DIRECTORYHERE«enter same number of spaces the directory actual has»

results in successful removal or rename.

I am using Filezilla 2.2.18 under Windows XP Professional English version.

When I tried to access a remote site (which supports UTF-8) containing folders in traditional Chinese, I cannot read the correct text (all become question mark).

If I start Filezilla using Microsoft Applocale and choose "Simplifed Chinese", I can view the correct text (in traditional Chinese).

I believe that it is only a minor bug about codepage conversion which could be fixed in the comming release.

WinXP Home; latest version 2.2.18 (also with 2.2.16):

after I upload a file FileZilla always/reproducibly loops and comsumes 100%-x CPU . until exit.

( In 2.2.16 I also remember: Looping Filezilla process didn't stop even if I exited Filezilla GUI; but not 100% sure. )

using filezilla client 2.2.17a I encountered the following: if you browse an ftp directory with more than 5000 files in it you will get a file list back that stops after 4998 files. the rest of the files will be ignored and thus are not accessible for the user.

in my case i tried browsing a directory with 30000 files in it and I found ths limitation quite irritating..

Executing 'FileZilla.exe ​sftp://myhost.com', it still connects to port 21, rather than port 22 by default (though it correctly uses SFTP rather than FTP).

Also, it logs in as 'anonymous@…'. I think it would be preferable to prompt for a username for sftp links (there are relatively few anonymous SFTPs). It may be nice to pompt for a username after unsuccessful anonymous access for all protocols anyway...

with the latest FileZilla version on Windows I've noticed a problem while I was downloading the German version of the Wikipedia DVD from a download mirror. It seems that there is a wrap around of an 32 bit variable because FileZilla keeps downloading over and over. The GUI reaches 100% but it is still downloading and after a few hours I had a file of 20 GB on my harddisk. Please download the following file and test it for yourself.

Filezilla cannot navigate into a directory that has a space after its name. For example, if a directory is called "Gross Margin "(notice the space at the end), Filezilla gives a "No such file or directory" error since it seems to parse the space out of the directory name.

This bug may be identical to bug# 1338012, but since it is reported there for version 2.2.17 only I created this ticket.

In version 2.2.18 the remote file list hangs after a while (there is only the error "pling" sound, when a directory not listed before is clicked). When debug mode is switched on, the onscreen log shows

"SftpControlSocket.cpp(2596): OnReceive(0) Caller=0x003fd1a4" (or some other value)

looping forever. In this case the GUI does not react any longer, I have to kill Filezilla via the task manager. I checked the server's sshd_config for the entries named in bug# 1338012:

TCPKeepAlive yes ClientAliveInterval 60 ClientAliveCountMax 3

In the settings box, on the Directory Cache node of the tree, if you leave any of the boxes for the amout of time to cache a directory blank and then press okay to exit, you are presented with a warning, but it is impossible to discern what the warning is about since it is entirely blank. Leaving a field blank is a hard stop, and you cannot exit the settings editor unless you have a value in all of these boxes.

Suggestions: Default to 0 when nothing is entered. Display a warning message that details the problems.

When downloading large files (greater than 2GB), we regularly get back error reports of critical errors - in most cases the file did download successfully.

Question - Are there issues with large file handling that are causing this error?

If I have files selected in a folder and switch folder using the local treeview some other files get selected, I don't know if they are truly selected or of it is just a view thing.

(using filezilla v 2.2.19a on win xp prof.)

When connecting to a ftps server (vsftp 2.0.4) with explicit encryption (AUTH SSL in passive mode), filezilla client (2.2.19a) seems not to encrypt data and/or command channels, although the authentication session is correctly encrypted. The 'LIST' command gets '150 Here comes the directory listing.' response but followed by an error message (something like : can't proceeded with directory listing). FileZilla seems to wait for a response although the server sends it up correctly.

This transfert with the same configuration is working fine with lftp 2.6 and 3.4 or cuteftp home 7.1, therefore it is not a server problem.

The VxWorks ftp server has different root directories.

It can have C: or D: as a root directory. When I type

in D: (or D:\, or D:/, or D, or /D) in the remote site box, it does not navigate to the remote site. The default is C: and when I type in D:, the message log pane says that it is trying to navigate to /C:/D:/. So it seems like it prepends the current site to the typed in remote site.

One workaround that I found was right click in the message log pane and Enter Command. If I Enter Command CWD D:, and then double click .. (CDUP) in the Remote site pane, then D: is correctly shown. Once I have done this manual sequence, I can then type in C: or D: in the Remote Site box and correctly see the C: site or the D: site.

One other note: I tried typing C: or D: in the default remote directory in the advanced area of Site Manager and it had similar results (didn't not navigate to D:).

I have attached the text from the Message log pane, along with some comments I inserted.

We can get through using a command line ftp, but filezilla returns this error message:

Error: Transfer channel can't be opened. Reason: The requested address is not valid in its context. Error: Timeout detected!

We are using xitami version 2.5c2 filezilla version 2.2.19a OS: Windows xp pro service pack 2.

If you add a path into default remote directory, such as

../../../web

as soon as you hit ok, it changes the path to

/../../../web

This is the wrong behaviour, and causes problems.

I am using FileZilla client 2.2.8b. Today I was dragging a file and I accidentally dropped it onto the status bar. The file vanished. I guess this one is very easy to reproduce if you want to...

Steps to reproduce:

• Launch FZ Client

• Enter any valid hostname into the "Address" box of

the Quickconnect toolbar, and add a trailing space. For example, "ftp.wustl.edu "

• Click Quickconnect

FZ can't resolve the host name, and times out.

The same problem occurs if a connection is created in site manager with a trailing space in the hostname. Leading spaces, however, do not cause a problem.

This is a minor issue, but keep in mind that it's not uncommon to get trailing white space if you copy a hostname out of a text file and paste it into FZ.

A user is unable to manually refresh a directory listing on a remote server.

1. Connect to an FTP server
2. Navigate to a directory.
3. On the FTP server (externally to filezilla), modify

the directory you are looking at.

Expected Result: A context menu item allows me to re-request a directory listing.

Actual Result: There is no way to refresh the directory listing, I have to disconnect from the server and reconnect.

Suggested: A right click context menu item to refresh directory contents; similar to windows' file explorer context menus and web browsers.

Filezilla client above accessing Platypus secure FTP server version 0.3 (jscape.com) truncates all paths over 65 ish charcters long. This results in failed uploads and downloads.

The "Transfer Queue" pane collapses whenever you minimize the program. You have to resize it to see it again.

FileZilla Client 2.2.22 crashed me system twice, every times computer was restarted to POST. When I try to upload iso image to another computer in local area. On first sight I thought it is some problem with my computer, I try to upload second time with the same result. Finally I uploaded file with internet explorer without trouble. The server is FileZilla Server version 0.9.14a.

I had the transfer settings set on Overwrite by default.

I was downloading several files and folders from a webserver. I realized I had already transfered one folder over, so I moved it into a "finished" folder on the remote server (using remote desktop) without removing it from the FileZilla client's queue.

When FZ 2.2.22 got to those files, it wrote 0 bytes over each one (eg. because the client was opening them for writing, and the server was responding that the files weren't found?). That is how it appears anyway.

When I run FileZilla Client, the window is not displayed on the foreground (it is hidden beneath other windows) and it is not shown on the windows taskbar. Then, by pressing alt+tab the FileZilla window is displayed and it also appears on the taskbar.

I'm using FileZilla Client v2.2.19, but this happened with all versions I've been using (I think I first started using FileZilla about a year ago).

Remarks:

• I use the .zip version (without installation)
• I've put FileZilla.exe on apppaths

(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\App Paths), so I usually run it by doing start menu->run->filezilla

• I usually have other windows open (e.g. IE or

firefox) when opening filezilla (maybe this has something to do with filezilla not appearing on the foreground).

When uploading multiple files to a server some of the files are swapped. For example, the following files are uploaded:

about.htm (16 KB) calendar.htm (32 KB) index.htm (64 KB) news.htm (128 KB)

Sometimes, after uploading the files together (with or without the queue), the resulting file list on the server will be:

about.htm (16 KB) calendar.htm (32 KB) index.htm (128 KB) news.htm (64 KB)

The data in the server's copy of index.htm is the data for the client's copy of news.htm and vice versa.

This happens to me at random, but quite frequently. I can never just assume that everything uploaded fine. I always have to check every file on the server or simply uploaded each separately (very annoying).

I've seen this behavior on several client computers and several different servers. I can't find a pattern.

Filezilla client sometimes disconnect in background when not in use. Then, when I want to change a directory, it detects that the connections have been closed and doesn't retry (but I've set it up to reconnect in the options).

Then, I have to manually connect again, manually go to my directory, and so on.

In short: the connections close but don't try to reconnect and simply abort. It should automatically reconnect in this case and continue operation.

This bug can be reproduced systematically:

1. Start the installer
2. choose French as the install language and go forth
3. When selecting the components to install, uncheck

English documentation but check French documentation. Go forth.

4. Once the French documentation is donwloaded, you

I am using filezilla client 2.2.23 and filezilla server 0.9.16c beta. When uploading text files they resume correctly if they are paused and uploaded again. When uploading binary files they overwrite everytime even though the resume setting has been set.

I can resume with other ftp clients to the same server so I think it's a problem with the filezilla client or the settings I have.

When entering a server name (DNS name) that contains a space, such as:

"dotnet15.hostbasket.com "

as opposed to

"dotnet15.hostbasket.com"

(without the quotes),

FileZilla will fail to connect.

Since domain names cannot end nor start with spaces, the domain name entered in the textbox ("Address") should be trimmed.

This bug is relevant because addresses may be copied from the web and hence may include spaces (this is how I hitted the bug).

After doing a view/edit on a remote file, Filezilla would normally prompt you to upload the file back to the server. I'm now running FileZilla 2.2.23 on Windows XP Pro (SP2) w/ ZoneAlarm Security Suite 6.5.677, and it no longer asks to save the file and upload the changed file back to the server.

To repeat this little bug on your PC, please do the following:

• go to Windows Control Panel
• choose Mouse properties
• enable the option responsible for moving mouse

pointer to the active item

• then run File Zilla Client

You will see that the pointer moves somewhere to the right rapidly on startup. This bug is present from version 2.2.21 or sth like that (I don't remember but I am sure it was not present before)

When transmiting a file, if the system time is changed. The transmission rates and elapsed time will be incorrect.

The example in attach file is to set the system time 4 days before, then negative value of the transmission rates is displayed.

I am not able to connect to a server with v2.2.23a if I use a password with chars like ÄÖÜ.

Everything was fine before I updatet to v2.2.23a and is fine if I downgrade to v2.2.23

I know it's petty, but it's hard to guage if my transfer went through correctly if it says that the file size is 0 Mb. Even as little as 10.24 Kb is still .01 Mb

I'd like to see Mb display in fractions thereof, rather than whole numbers and zeros. I'm submitting my petty request as a bug because the majority of my ASCii files show as 0 Mb. I've attached a screenshot to express the frustration.

But filezilla 2.2.24 still locate my desktop's folder is desktop.:(

It should find the shell's register to locate. desktop's shell register should be HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVe rsion\Explorer\Shell Folders\desktop ???

FileZilla 2.2.24a requests an unknown entry point in Shell32.dll on NT4sp6a.

Since FileZilla 2.2.23a, and even on 2.2.24a, FileZilla fails to load on my Windows 98 as it is trying to find/load the "UxTheme.dll" that is not existing. Previous releases were OK on my Windows 98.

Using FileZilla 2.2.24a on Win2000 Pro fully patched.

FileZilla 2.2.24a can't browse directories with space char on the name endig. For example if on the server there is a dir called 'aaaaa ' (' - this char is to show that in name ending is a space char') FileZilla sends to serwer 'CWD aaaaa' instead of 'CWD aaaaa '. Porobably this error is present on all versions.

I have a reocuring minor problem with uploading large batches of pdf docs

when I try to upload more than 20 pdf docs 2 - 4 mb in size I get a popup error mesage saying that their is a error in the transfer quie and if I can reproduce it report it and the upload then stops

This error has reocured on numerous occasions when uploading pdf docs and I can reproduce

it does not happen with other formats with similar file size jpg html php etc I have found that if I upload 10 pdf docs at a time their is no problem and the transfer list is procesed quite quickly

The german translation of the term 'site' is inconsistent and misleading.

In the current version "site" is translated using the words "Server" (which is obviously not the same as site) and "Seite" (Seite is the german word for page!)

Somebody may construct some word like "FTP-Präsenz". But this word is not in use, it sounds ugly untechnical, and it is longer and more complicated than "Site".

Since there seems to be no german word for the term site in this context, I suggest to use the word "Site", which is frequently used by german-speaking people.

FileZilla Version 2.2.x Client kills D-Link DSL-584T during usage. No Protocol works after the kill. The route have to been reseted, to work again.

With other FTP-Clients there are no problems. Switching beetween passive / active mode make no differences. FileZilla kills the router after one file is transfrered.

Any Idea? Any Setting? Any suggestion about the D-Link DSL-584T

When selecting a file with a long name (either in the local panel or remote panel) only a portion of the file name will be highlighted. Additionally, it will truncate the name to 5 characters plus "..." (this is the part that highlights) however any additional characters in the file name past this will still be visible.

This may be a bug with Microsoft Windows Vista, however I felt it prudent to file a bug here just in case. I have filed a bug report with Microsoft as well.

The title says it all, trying to delete a lot of files (750+) takes a long time - possibly because the remote file list view is emptied and refilled for each file. The time to delete each file decreases as the number of files decreases.

If you start transferring a lot of files and then resize the message log window, the files currently being transferred return an error (I've got 8 simulatenous ports open). Once these files have reported their error, operation continues as normal.

I am using 2.2.16 on windows xp. When I upload files I somtimes find that the content of the files is being swapped around. So file a contents end up in file b

When typing an URL in the Quick Connect Address box with username only, FileZilla pops up a dialog box for password but uses it as username.

e.q. ​ftp://someuser@somehost/ is given in the Address box. While FileZilla asks for password, "somepass" is given. In this case, FileZilla connects to "somehost" with username "somepass" and empty password.
