I have fixes for a mainframe system that is downloaded to a windows machine. This needs to be transferred to a mainframe in binary format. I had two files. One works just fine. The other one looses the first record. This is actually a key to the future processing of the record. This fix was sent to another user who used Bluezone transfer which worked fine.

This week I started having access problem with my FileZilla where it showed me a network error message (​https://screenshot.net/pt/dn369an). I have checked my server access data several times and they are correct. Check my direct access to the server and they are accessing normally. It only started giving trouble when trying to access via FileZilla.

Now, it just not show any more messages (​https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-3bBaQBNJ0mV2Q3RUJlenFGT3U3Z2tFaHdfd3pINmlzRDdV/view). I try to access, just as I always did, but nothing happens.

in the bottom right files box if there is only 5 items and you try to do the usual windows click box select, the mouse shoots off the screen and doesnt work.

I have 12089 *.html files in folder. In server preview - only 9998 *.html files in folder. Folder sizes too not equal. Filter files is wrong. Please, correct this greatest soft! Best regards, Serg.

When opening FZ, all functionality is still fine. Soon as I click on "File" then "SiteManager" I loose my scroll wheel and right click functionality on all opera webpages. This issue does not influence Firefox nor OpenOffice. I still have left click function in opera main menu and tool bar. Only inside webpages I can only scroll with the up/down arrows on the keyboard. When I left click/right click inside a form or hover over a dropdown, nothing happens. (Could not fill out this ticket in Opera - had to open Firefox.) To get rid of the problem, I have to restart Opera while FZ is still open. I can then work in FileZilla and Opera - no problem. As soon as I disconnect from the server in FZ and go into "File" "Site Manager" again, the same thing happens. Opera mouse functions disappear on webpages.

After installing newest release, 3.30.0-rc1, when I drag the cursor to select file names in order to drag and transfer them to the remote site, the highlight does not work properly, sending the cursor jumping to different parts of the screen.

After open FileZilla, it detects a new version (3.29.0 (2017-11-06)) but can't download it. Here is the installed version:

Sorry, I have a lot of files on my server in one folder (over 38K files). Can this be handled with a bug fix? Client is running on Win 7 64 bit, also other OS are affected (but some aren't).

If you try to use the mouse to drag a rectangular selection box around files listed in either the local or remote file list panes, the mouse cursor jumps to the bottom right corner of the screen.

To refresh the client window (of files and dirs), the program currently supports only the F5 command key, but those F1-F12 keys are gradually being phased out by laptop makers. In most apps nowadays, the new standard is Ctrl+R to refresh a window. FileZilla should allow the use of Ctrl+R to refresh the window.

When accessing the contents of my FritzBox 7490 there is one directory which is listed in Filezilla but cannot be accessed.

Whatever I try for that one specific directory (rename, change rights, enter) fails with message "550: No such file or directory".

All other directories are not showing this behavior. I crosschecked with other ftp client (Filezilla, see attached screenshot), here, everything works out fine.

The directory's name is "awo_haan_dbbackup", it contains 110 files using 285 MB of space.

For some reason, the Symantec Endpoint Protection brought up a warning today, saying that the installer of Filezilla client 3.30.0 was a risk. The file was then moved to Quarantine (see attached screenshot).

When trying to log on to FileZilla Server from a specific client machine, i receive the following entries:

I had a user on my network download the latest windows package from filezilla-project.org and Palo Alto Traps caught what looked to be malware delivered to his system at install. If you are using an asterisk ("*") wildcard in any query (i.e. contains) except the regex query in the search remote files dialog, there will be no results.

As a workaround, a regular expression can be used, which is working as expected.

The server appears to be pulling the servers SSL certificate and not the sites. This is demonstrated by the error message shown to me and the servername not matching the site name. The SSL has been issued by Let's Encrypt.

What I have tried so far: deleting config file. that didn't help, downgrading filezilla, that didn't help either. Try to downgrade wayland didn't help either.

Hello, I tried to install the latest version of FileZilla from FileZilla_3.32.0_macosx-x86_setup_bundled but this time Avast threw a warning.

Could somebody advice is this is false or the repository been hacked?

Changes made to site are instantly changed on IE, but on firefox, they don't change.

I have a folder with the name "Chill EDM: Relax | Calm | Lowkey | Melodic | Vibes |" on my vsftpd server, however when I access my FTP using FileZilla, it shows the folder name without that ending '|' and when trying to enter it I receive a: "Response: 550 Failed to change directory. My windows laptop recently got updated to windows 10 1803 (x64).

Since then I lost the ability to drag and drop files to windows explorer.

I get the message:

I've tried register the extension (fzshellext_64.dll), rebooted, re-installed, installed both 32 and 64 bit versions and nothing.

Hi.

When I try to select multiple items in file list by drawing selection rectangle using mouse, the mouse cursor 'teleports' to corner of the monitor on specific condition. (bottom-right or top-right of virtual screen)

I did not check the Linux version of the Filezilla Client has same behavior. (I'm using CentOS 7, but they does not provide most up-to-date version)

• Reproduce procedure (100% reproducible)

1. Run Filezilla Client
2. Make sure you have horizontal scrollbar on the listview by resizing window and scrollbar should not reach at right end. (Just you can place scrollbar on left end)
3. Click (and hold) empty place of listview to draw a selection rectangle.
4. Move the cursor.
5. The mouse cursor teleport to bottom-right of monitor. (or top right)

Since updating to 3.32.0, SFTP shows files and folders duplicated by 4 times. Our server is running on Linux.

I am attempting to access coton.champlain.edu and have verified my login credentials. I just upgraded recently to 3.33.0 and at the end of the month I download an XMI file from z/OS which is an unloaded PDS file. I then run a check after the download using a tool called XMI Explorer to confirm the file is readable. Today the file is not. I then used standard DOS FTP to download same file and was ok. So what has changed in 3.33.0 that caused the corruption in the XMI files? I tried 6 other XMI files that worked in previous versions of FileZilla and they were corrupted using 3.33.0. I asked a colleague to try it as well and they too had the issue. The files are 39 meg so I can't attach to this record.If there is anything you need me to do let me know.

When downloading 100GB backup files the overwrite/resume prompt window shows old (cached?) size info about the local files after an unexpected reboot during long download (Enforced Windows Update reboot).

The Local site file listing also shows old data. Hitting F5 multiple times to refresh sometimes updates the window to the current file size. Without knowing it has to be refreshed, FileZilla will redownload large parts of the file.

Event Sequence: Start downloads at 9 am after backup finishes. File download is progressing to 80GB. Unexpected reboot happens at night. Restart the machine and reload Filezilla. Local site and overwrite/resume window show the file progress is at 50GB (the last server reconnect perhaps?) and resumes from 50GB point. Window Explorer shows file was 70GB before download resume.

It seems like FileZilla is not aware that the connection has been terminated due to idle timeout until it tries to use the dead connection again. The disconnect button on the toolbar also remains available after the timeout disconnect. In fact, using the Disconnect and Reconnect buttons will work as expected for a connected session, even after the idle timeout has long passed.

Thanks for taking a look. For now I just put 2 hours for the idle timeout, even though that's not really ideal. I also don't know if this is in the client or libfilezilla but it manifests in the client so that's what I chose.

My MacBook Air is using OS X Yosemite version 10.10.5

From the trac.filezilla-project.org site I click the green button on the download Client File Zilla.

1) I see, at the bottom left of my screen, it loading. It takes about 5 seconds, I briefly see a green check mark and then I see up at the top of my screen:my sophos anti-virus says "Adware or PUA detected by Sophos Anti-Virus" and "Adware or PUA InstallCore (ID:5) has been blocked and listed in Quarantine Manager" When I open Quarantine Manager I get: /Users/agw/Downloads/FileZilla_3.34.0_macosx-x86_setup_bundled.dmg

2) When I click on the rectangle for FileZilla, I get a 'warning' box that says 'the following disc images couldn't be opened' and then I get a small 'chart' where under image it says FileZilla_3.34_0 macos and under 'Reason' it says 'Permission denied'.

after 4 or 5 minutes of ftp download i have a reboot of my Mac mini (every time i use this version of filezilla) - the system information log indicate a kernel panic in some filezilla component- i use the last filezilla version 3.34.0

when using socks5,i upload file less than 8760, it displays 'transfer success'. but file size is zero in server. i tested other ftp client,all are ok . i capture packets, the filezilla client uses EPSV mode, others use PASV mode,maybe this is the problem.

Why is the Port field in the General Tab always empty after clicking on Site Manager to connect to a previously saved server, even though I saved the port number during the initial setup? I always have to manually enter the port number before connecting to my site. Any insight on this?

Recent versions of FileZilla will not download certain text log files which contain very long lines or weird escape characters. I know one or the other causes the issue, but I can't tell which is the problem. I can upload these weird text files using FZ, but they cannot be downloaded using FZ. I have tried "auto", "text", and "binary" modes when downloading.

The attached "access_log_search.2018-08-01" file is an Apache server log file in text format from my hosted site. This file is a compilation of a certain type of SQL hack. This type of attack has no affect on my site, but the very long lines or an escape character prevents me from downloading the server log for that day. This is VERY annoying and so I must fall back to other methods to download the log file. While every line in my example log file is weird, just ONE of these weird lines in a log file causes FZ download to fail on that line.

I can understand that if "text" or "auto" modes were used to download, an extremely long line-length or perhaps some weird escape characters inside the file might cause FZ to fail. But I don't understand why the file download hangs if "binary" mode is used. FZ should not process the file contents in that mode. It should just flow the data to my computer.

This download error type seems to be due to a relatively recent change in FZ. I've downloaded these rather strange log files many times in the past. From my experience, the issue seems to have been introduced within the past 6 months.

However, I cannot decide if this is a FileZilla issue or an FTP host issue. My hosting company (Web.com) says this is a FZ issue. I do not have any problems using the online file manager to download these weird log files. But using the Web.com online file manager is a nuisance.

From the verbose mode FZ debug log below, the error line which appears to describe the problem is....

"Error: File transfer failed after transferring 1,400 bytes in 20 seconds"

The retry gives this similar error line...

"Error: File transfer failed"

The full verbose level 3 debug log from is attached as "filezilla.log". I also appended the status screen log from an earlier attempt in "filezilla status window.txt".

By the way, all personal information was masked in both FZ logs. This is a security issue which should be corrected in the FZ log files. The debug logs do NOT need to include FTP hosts, URLs, usernames, or IP address specific to an FTP host.

Example - data being sent is pricing data for different manufacturers in the outdoor power equipment industry. In this case, the package quantity column, a three character field, contained ##1 instead of 001. The data files on our computer had no corruption until a user of our service tried to process the data after we uploaded the file via the FileZilla client - version 3.35.1

The filezilla software closes after a few seconds after I update the latest version on this day.

See attached screenshot, in which "inbox" is shadowed over Chrome. This remains even after closing the program, until I disconnect my monitor or change my display settings. It does not change if I connect to a second site; the first one chosen still remains as a shadow. I am unsure whether this was happening only in version 3.35.2 or if it continues in 3.36...I had to uninstall 3.36 because of the FTP/TLS changes until I get a response from my customer about settings for their server.

can't login to any of my servers

I was using FileZilla 3.37.1 to download files from the server. It seemed to complete but then it gave the following messages about a bad disconnect with the server. The Response: 421 Timeout message is rather snarky.

I have updated to 3.37.3 and after I have started a connection to a server, FileZilla chrashes. I have tried it with a fresh installation directory, but the same happens.

After updating Filezilla, we are observing a Bug on 'Last modified' column. Time is showing after 5 hours. For example, If we generate file on 5 pm then time showing on last modified time is 10 pm.

When the Watch locally edited files and prompt to upload modifications feature is turned on, it does not update its links when the remote server is changed. This may lead to overwriting a wrong remote file.

Consider the following scenario:

1. Connect to server A.
2. Download file X from server A to a local folder.
3. Edit the file X (right-click it in the local folder and select Edit).
4. Do some edits, save the file, close the editor and return to FileZilla.
5. You are prompted to upload modified file back to remote server A (so far so good).
6. Select ‘No’ to close the prompt.
7. Connect to server B.
8. Download file X from the server B to the same local folder as in step 2.
9. Open the new file X in your editor.
10. Do some edits, save the file, close the editor and return to FileZilla.
11. Now, you are prompted to upload modified file X back to remote server A!

That is wrong because the file was downloaded from server B and should be uploaded there. If you do not read the prompt carefully, you can easily overwrite the file at the wrong remote server. FileZilla should update its internal link when the monitored file is downloaded from a different location.

Hello, I am using Ubuntu 16.04. When I open filezilla I saw this alert everytime

The file '/home/username/.config/filezilla/filezilla.xml' could not be loaded. No document element found at offset 7495.

For this session the default settings will be used. Any changes to the settings will not be saved.

So for everytime I have to select editor, please help me resolve this issue . I have tried so many thing to resolve this but unable to solve it.

Filezilla ENETUNREACH error during FTP persists, even after adding Kaspersky exclusions to filezilla.exec. Please make previous Filezilla Client releases available even though they're not supported. Everything worked fine before I updated the Filezilla release.

Downloading a WP installation from a plesk server using no encryption (insecure) resulted in several of its core and plugin files downloaded with what I assume is some sort of binary/invalid data in them along plain text. Samples of the affected files include .CSS and .PHP files.

Attempting to copy the contents (copy-paste) results in truncated data up to the point of corruption.

There were no errors or warnings displayed on the log area during download.

Damage occurred during download and corrupted data was uploaded 'successfully' in that is seems to match the corrupted data.

A second attempt to download the same WP installation resulted in errors on the same files but damaged data occurred at different locations.

I urgently need Filezilla to upload changes to my websites. Anything you can suggest would be gratefully received. I have tried uninstalling Filezilla and reinstalling from scratch with a complete reset of parameters to no avail.

After update to 3.40.0, I'm unable to connect from a Windows machine to several servers via ftpes:// protocol (FTP over Explicit TLS) on port 21. The connections work on 3.39.0 and in other software (WinSCP).

The server to which I'm trying to connect uses Pure-FTPd 1.0.46 linked against GnuTLS 3.5.18 (stock configuration on Ubuntu 18.04) and username+password authentication. TLS certificate is valid.

My wild guess is that it has something to do with recent GnuTLS libs upgrade in 3.40.0.

I sign on filezilla to download my acceptance/denial reports from changehealthcare. One day it would not connect. My software is with Imagine(CPU) in California. They originally set it up my filezilla with Change Healthcare. Now that I am having problems connecting they say they can't help me. My submitter number is TSOHS5A. My receiver ID is 133052274. I get connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity. Then could not connect to server. When I try to connect it says open "TSOHS5A@…"22 I apologize but I am a billing company and very ignorant to so much of this.

I have used Filezilla in the past to ftp to Mozilla.org's ftp site.I believe that the change in Mozilla ftp server prevents Filezilla from connecting to it now. I didn't put a wireshark packet trace on it but I can if needed to support this ticket. I'm not sure if the mozilla change makes this a feature request or just a bug.

Just downloaded/install 3.41.1 My virus checker found the following attached problem

I was deleting an empty folder called ~ through FileZilla.

However, I started to notice that it was taking way too long to delete 8KB. When I looked at the logs, I saw that it was deleting all files in /home/<user>/... instead o /home/<user>/<path>/~.

Sadly, the damage had been done. I'm filling this bug report so this may not happen to anyone else.

I almost did this myself in the console, before I realized I had to use ./~ instead of ~. I'm not sure how FTP works overall, but a possible fix may be to always include ./ or the full path... no idea though.

After a transfer has completed, the filezilla icon appears in the Windows 7 System Tray and displays a bubble indicating the transfers have completed. After you exit the application, the icon still remains visible in the system tray. To get rid of it, you need to mouse over it.

When browsing the directory inside a Wordpress installation /wp-content/uploads It shows me 9998 files... When scrolling down its stops at about S... so there is more files but the filezilla client does not show more then 10'000 files would be my assumption.

I'm getting the following error when I try to navigate to the /var/www/ directory on my localhost:

I can access the /home directory just fine, but that's not where my website lives locally.

I'm using the latest FileZilla flakpak from flathub.org (version 3.42.1) on Fedora 30. The error isn't SELinux related (I'm getting the same result in permissive mode).

I'm try updating manually to new version 3.43.0, always work it, but didn't work it now, problems with libc6(GLIBC), I'm using Linux Mint 19 x64, now warning "libc6 not found", but have version 2.27, but not working, I did a rollback to 3.42.1 and is working again. What is the solution, please?

Recently I have had my FTP connections drop after a period of inactivity (about 10 to 15 minutes or so), and when I try to reconnect I get a 530 login incorrect error.

I have tried disabling the Windows firewall, I've double checked my credentials and am certain there is nothing wrong there. The only way to fix it seems to be restarting my computer (restarting FileZilla isn't enough).

To reiterate, there is nothing wrong with my credentials, and a computer restart fixes the problem, but if the server drops the connection after a period of inactivity it is impossible to restart the connection because of this 530 login incorrect error.

The @ sign is being unnecessarily escaped in account names in the Quickconnect list of accounts. This doesn't cause any problems, but it's annoying and completely unnecessary. As a developer myself, I'm certain this is a 30 second fix, and would be very grateful if somebody would fix it.

I installed Filezilla via flatpak, to have the last updated version, because on Ubuntu Xenial 16.04.06 there are only very previous versions. Then, when I start application by double-clicking on app icon nothing happen. Therefore I try to cut command line inside the application ".desktop" file and paste it on terminal window, to watch what happen when program start. At end the program crash with a "Pango Error", as you can see in the attached file.

Previously when a user used SFTP and exceeded a storage quota Filezilla would report an error indicating the user had exceeded the quota and would not upload the file. With the recent update this no longer happens and the user does not receive an error message but only a 0kb file is uploaded. User thinks upload is successful. Please see attached log file.

When using FTPS, the file is not uploaded however the system tries repeatedly to upload the same file over and over and over again. Please see attached log file.

Attached log file is for a user with a 0 storage quota uploading a 82,751 PNG file to the server.

When I start the client, one core is loaded at 100% for 5-6 minutes. However, I can not connect to the sftp server saved in the settings. A new tab appears, but it is empty. The console is empty. The indicator does not show that some operation is occurring. I can click refresh, but it does not give anything. I can press interrupt the current operation, but it does not give anything. The second tab to the same server is also empty.

If I click check for new versions, a dialog window will be displayed, there will be rotation progress bar until background load not ended.

Until the background process completes its work, the client is completely useless.

If I close the client while the background task is running, the window will disappear, but the process will remain until it completes its work.

If I start the client again, it will again do something in the background for 5-6 minutes.

Judging by the line: generate_selfsigned_certificate He is engaged in the fact that he generates some kind of certificates.

Am running Windows 10 - 64 bit. Just upgraded to version 3.46.0. Have noted that the ability to reduce the width of the viewing window has been lost, and it will only reduce to a set width. I need a narrow view. Is this a bug or a set feature in the new version?

Connecting to ProFTPD with FileZilla (all platforms), we have run into a connection error that only affects keyboard-interactive authentication. Doing a git bisect on the PuTTY sources (which are utilized by FileZilla), we found that the problematic commit exists between PuTTY 0.70 and 0.71, and is precisely due to PuTTY commit 20a9bd5642ac66ae1190069989d33c5fcefe5672 ( ​https://git.tartarus.org/?p=simon/putty.git;a=commit;h=20a9bd5642ac66ae1190069989d33c5fcefe5672 ) from July 9, 2018. We have tried various PuTTY versions after the problematic commit, including head, and still have the problem connecting to ProFTPD. We have also tried upgrading ProFTPD to 1.3.7rc1, 1.3.7rc2, and the latest head, and the problem still persists when connecting to it with anything higher than FileZilla 3.46.0 or PuTTY 0.70 (testing done with psftp).

The error message that is returned is the following (this output is from psftp, but the same error comes through with Filezilla 3.46.1 and higher):

For now, we have informed those accessing our systems to do one of the following workarounds:

1.) Roll back to FileZilla 3.46.0 or older (or PuTTY 0.70 or older if utilizing psftp) 2.) Use public key authentication via Pagent or saved key file within FileZilla 3.) Ensure PuTTY is installed, and uncheck the checkbox for 'Attempt "keyboard-interactive" auth (SSH-2)' under SSH->Auth so the connection falls back to password auth. Make sure to save this change to the Default Settings connection profile within PuTTY. 4.) Use a different SFTP client that is not affected in this way.

In summary:

A change in PuTTY at commit 20a9bd5642 resulted in an inability to connect to ProFTPD that wasn't previously present. Since FileZilla relies on the PuTTY libraries and those were recently upgraded for FileZilla version 3.64.1, this problem has now presented itself. It isn't clear (to me) if this is a bug in PuTTY itself or ProFTPD, but I thought I would start with filing a bug here to get started, since FileZilla is used heavily by those accessing our systems, and this problem will become quite problematic as more and more people upgrade their FileZilla clients.

(Also, I saw bug #12066, but have not been able to reproduce that issue on my end. I suspect that issue has to do with pulling in PuTTY changes, but may not be due to the exact commit mentioned in this ticket.)

I experienced a lot of difficulties in updating your Client to Version 4.63: I could do it only after restarting my PC, since it insisted wrongly that the Client was still running.

The remote server on Linux RH.

Our clients cannot upload large files to our Cerberus server v11 - anything 1 Byte over 1GB from a fileshare fails. Connection seems to reset and FZPro thinks the file is already there and asks to overwrite etc. If the file is on the computer local to FZPro the transfer works.

As far as I can tell this issue started with v3.46.1 – 3.46.0 worked OK. Issue happens with older versions of Cerberus too – tried a rolledback version of our server using v10 and the same issue.

A quick fix is to turn FileZilla's default connection timeout of 20 seconds off but our client does not see that as an acceptable solution (their users are prevented from making changes in the client - they are a financial institution).

Logs attached of a failed transfer (filezilla20sectimeout.log), a successful transfer (filezilla20sectimeout) and the corresponding Cerberus server log. File used was a 4GB Windows 10 installer – tested the successful upload by downloading it and doing an install from it.

Filezilla version is Filezilla Pro 3.46.3 and Cerberus version is 11.0.8.0 on a fully patched Windows Server 2019 AWS instance.

Norton (antivirus) allowed update today -- then claimed there were "issues" and dispatched entire Filezilla program(!) and won't allow fresh download of Filezilla without (terrifying to me) override. I use Filezilla only occasionally, but rely on it totally. thank you...

Priority Settings added doesn't work while downloading files.

If priority of a one file download is set at highest and another is set at lowest then highest gets downloaded at lesser speed then lowest priority one. This should not happen otherwise there seems no other use for this field

Until a couple of days ago I was able to upload and download files without any issues. The day before yesterday, FileZilla Pro simply could not download any files from the servers I usually work with. It started showing “Fail to open …”, “File Transfer failed…”, etc. messages. I bought FillaZilla Pro from the App Store and I noticed that I was working with version 3.46.3, (the only version currently available at the App Store). After noticing that I went to the FileZilla site and downloaded version 3.47.1 and all the issues were resolved, I was able to upload and download without any problems. After 48 hours of using version 3.47.1 the application simply “disappeared”, (there was a big translucent “?” superimposed over the FileZilla icon), and that version of the application was not operational anymore. I am assuming that has to do with some type of “payment” issue, (buying the application from the developer’s site and not a third party distributor like Apple), so I went back to the App Store, I downloaded their version and the “File Transfer failed…” problem instantly came back. Is there a way to authorize the latest version of FileZille Pro, (downloaded from the FileZilla website), and continue to use it normally? How can I solve this problem since the App Store does not have the current version and it is almost impossible to contact them? I really need to fix this issue because my work involves uploading and downloading files from FTP servers on a daily basis.

I am trying to install Filezila_pro_3.47.2.1_win64-setup.exe in a Windows Server 2008 64bit but the installer do not start, none, do not work. What happen?
