Hello, We can not get into the system. It keeps saying that we have to many users logged into the same IP address.

I am unable to use your SEARCH function to find spots among the many folders in my OnMedia folders. Can you help? Nothing on my end has changed unless the network people in New York did something?

Please HELP me ASAP, as we receive hundreds of spots monthly. For now I am downloading all your spots to a 2TB drive so I can search that but if you add spots top folders then I am dead in the water as to trying to find it.

The expected behavior is that Filezilla will connect and delete the file, but nothing happens. Here is the log:

But the remote file /var/www/html/testfile will not be deleted.

Let's say we have a directory A, with a directory B inside of it, and we click to view directory B. If we right click directory B and delete it, it succeeds, and FileZilla sends off the "update this view" request. This request results in an "Error: Unable to open .: no such file or directory" because, of course, the directory it wants was removed.

As a result of the error, the directory is not removed from the remote site tree view because the listing failed. Also unfortunately if you try to click around to the parent directory or other directories to get back to places that do exist, all you get is the "Ding!" error sound.

Clicking the refresh button while selecting another (existing) directory doesn't fix this state. To do that you need to click the cancel current operation button and select yes. Afterwards you are then free to select the parent directory which successfully lists its contents, and the directory is now removed from the view.

It seems to me it would be nice, from a user point of view, to check if you're deleting the directory you're currently viewing and instead of trying to refresh the current directory after the deletion succeeds, refresh the parent directory instead.

After uploading multiple files, the protocol section of the FileZilla GUI results in a graphics error so that icon disappear. I noticed this error already a view versions ago.

Is there any problem if I use special character such as ";", "," in the file name? Actually, I uploaded a file with name "EC FA 3.1.2.1-10, 12&19 230715.doc". When you have a lot of entries in your site manager it gets hard to use. Can a tree view be implemented to so you can organise the entries?

download several files ,right click in the "Queued files" windows, user can see several items("process Queue","stop and remove all","remove selected",etc), but user can't control certain one file to transport or pause,while it's should be a normal behavior in using Filezilla.

Hello, When I tried to run file zilla I am getting some kind error message

Error loading xml file c:\users\Indomain\Appdata\Roaming\FileZilla\sitemanager.xml could not be loaded. No document element found at offset 5154. The site manager cannot be used unless the file gets repaired.

So please suggest me what should I do?

I have downloaded the package (FileZilla_3.16.1_x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.bz2 from sourceforge). Then I have unzipped it and started the binary as normal user in a subfolder of my homedirectory.

The package is linked against wxWidgets 3.0.3 and I'm using KDE Plasma 5.5.5

I try to select a key in .ssh from the GUI seen below, but the private key file and host file don't show up. I can work around this by either drag and dropping the key from nautilus to the filezilla GUI or just writing the path of the key. But it would be still nice to just see the keys. Yes hidden files are enabled and yes I selected the tab all files.

In previous versions you could select multiple files and copy ALL the URL information to the clipboard using <Copy URL(s) to Clipboard> by right mouse clicking.

For some reason the latest version for both Windows and OSX will only copy one URL.

Please fix this bug as this is a very useful function to be able to copy more than one URL at at time.

If the user name for a session includes an @ symbol, e.g. matt@foobar, the FTP session tab is labeled as matt%40foobar@…. The same thing happens in the list for the pulldown to the right of the Quickconnect button. I don't remember this percent-encoding, i.e. %40 = @ being used until what must have been a fairly recent version. I'd prefer to see matt@foobar@… even if that means showing two @ symbols. I'm attaching a partial screenshot of an FTP session tab where domain name is partly blacked out.

After changing root drive into B:\ by commnad CWD, I faced Critical file transfer error when download a file.

Reproduction step

1. enter custom command "CWD B:\" (default A:\)
2. refresh for list B:\ drive
3. download one of files in B:\ drive root

Expectation downloaded successfully

If i go to Debug menu and select TLS Chipers and type something i might get:

I suggest making it translateable in POT/PO files.

Or rewrite it some how to get a better error message that people can understand better.

The OS X FileZilla window name shows the FTP account description and the username as a window title. It seems that you're using URL-encoding, at least partially. E.g., a username containing the + character will instead display %2.

Currently FileZilla will check for new versions at start up. When I open FileZila is not because I am hoping to find an update, but because I want to get some work done. Often I am operating under some time pressure.

I want to stay up to date. But I want it to be a background process that happens when the program closes, not when it opens (which makes we wait between 1 and 3 minutes every time the program starts).

So please create an option that will move the update check alert to the shutdown sequence. I am picturing a dialog that says something like "FileZilla has been updated. would you like have the new version installed after shutdown?". I can't imagine a time when I would say no to that request.

I love that FileZilla is still under active development. I am glad you push updates regularly. I could just disable the update check. But I don't want that.

Each time I update FileZilla, it gets unpinned from the Windows 10 start menu, and I have to pin it again.

I update using the regular procedure: when I get the notification, I click on the "update now" button and follow the wizard.

When scrolling through sites on the site manager, if you select a site that uses keys to authenticate, and those key files are missing, a pop up appears saying:

body: "The file '[path to key]' could not be loaded or does not contain a private key.

However, when you attempt to select another site from the list, the pop up still appears, and does not allow you to use the site manager without closing and reopening the window.

While the bug could be fixed by simply stopping the pop-up from appearing again after you select another site, I would like to propose that the key not found be moved into the site manager itself, instead of a popup, perhaps as a colored warning below the key file selector. This would have the benefit of not stopping a user from scrolling down through the list and getting pop-ups for sites he is not interested in, only getting the alert within the window when he stops on a site.

note: this also happens on the linux versions of filezilla.

I am using Filezilla to backup my sites. I am trying to download full site, but it's stop in specific quaked files all the time. I try with different servers and happen the same problem. I delete Filezilla and install again but still have this problem. Please advise.

I am unable to delete files on windows 2012 server. The user has given full rights on filezilla server application, connecting to the ftp server with windows "network location" as a ftp folder in explorer.

Also same user name is created as local user in the windows server, with full permission to the selected folder.

I can rename the files, but cannot delete them, and there is no error logged in the logs, just mentioned as below:

Link "Looking for the latest version?" points to 3.17.0_x64 version, but the actual latest version is 3.25.1

Not sure if it's possible but could the "Install New Version" prompt appear when closing Filezilla rather than opening it. Generally I am opening Filezilla to complete a task and don't want to stop what I'm doing to do an update, however once the task is completed I would happily allow an update to run.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open several connections to different sites in several tabs
2. Start some uploads and/or downloads on each of them
3. Look at the transfer queue at the bottom

Expected: the files currently transferring or queued to be transferred are listed; you should be able to tell which one are being transferred to/from which of the servers you are connected to

Observed: several attributes of the files are shown: current path, remote path, etc, but there's no indication of what server they are being transferred to/from. So, if you queued downloads to several servers, you cannot tell them apart. How f*ing stupid is that??

Every time we need new installation we need old data and settings from File Zilla. If we connect our software with Google mail we can sync data so that next we have to log in only to get data from our system. We can use this feature on all of the operating systems!

I often have a large download or upload from my web site and have to go somewhere. I then right click the download and responding to (Action after completion) select (close file zilla) when completed.

Then when I open filezilla again and try to use it, the app appears not to open. I.e. it keeps closing down the application.

I suggest that you give an option to allow file zilla to close only once until next opening of the app. I.e. reset it to keep the settings it had before the user selected to have it close down automatically.

This way, after opening up again, it will not keep closing down all the time.

This is a minor formatting issue for people using multi-domain hosting with pipe in their "User" field.

I have spent too much time looking for a way to name the log file produced by filezilla using month, day, year, time. How is this done? According to Filezilla's documentation, it says I need to look for: Just enable 'Use a different logfile each day

#1. I have seeing that some files are not getting transferred to point B from A, but the failure is not written in the filzilla log. There is no mention of the fact the transfer never happened.

#2. Some of the files being transferred are being "renamed" by filzilla. For example, if I have a filed named, audience.jpg. when Filzilla transfer to from a server to a server, it changes the name to Audience.jpg. How do I stop it from doing that?

I am finding that files are not copied from one server to another. I would have never know that files were missing in the transfer if I didn't run setfacl on the files transferred. Setfacl uses a list generated from getfacl on prod as input. This input list is use to compare against what is transferred so permissions can be set.

What doesn't filzilla show me the files/directories that don't get transferred for whatever reason?

I have downloaded and installed the latest FileZilla version 3.28.0.

Unfortunately, it crashes on startup. The error message reads:

filezilla: error while loading shared libraries: libpng16.so.16: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I tried installing libpng16-16 (libpng12-0 was already installed), and the error message changed to:

filezilla: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.22' not found (required by filezilla)

As libstdc versions 5 and 6 are already installed, I don't know how to proceed. In the meantime, I have fallen back to version 3.27.1.

I have two ideas: A) in this scenario:

When a single user working on a file (Lets assume a PHP file). Some times we amend a minor changes. Lets say we forgot a semi coma somewhere. Normally we re-upload the whole file.

Lets say the file size is so big (1 MB) (Just assumption)

Is there a way to upload the changes only?

i.e. the difference between two files in local machine and remote server is just one character. So is it possible somehow to add a new feature to the client and server to understand this changes.

I can't propose a mechanism to achieve this feature; its only an idea that comes to my mind and personally it makes sense. But don't know much about possible technology implementation.

If this if to be implemented; I think needs changes to client application and server application to adapt.

I am not sure if this is valid; but I guess this needs artificial inelegance technology.

If to be implemented; this will amazingly reduce ftp traffic for single user having lots of files of type of PHP in our example.

Can't be sure this would work for binary files; but at least can you consider my idea for ASCI files?

B) In normal routine, when I need to upload a big number of different files. I zip them into one and single archive.

Upload to server. Then from the server panel, I unzip.

This so much reduce upload time.

So, technically; is it possible to let ftp client zip files before upload, then at server side, the ftp server will unzip in the same folder structure.

Do you think this could be two good ideas?

Do you think this (if valid) would reduce the whole internet ftp traffic; said that I guess 1000s or more developers using ftp daily to upload data?

FileZilla can't log in to server. Log in failed, because FileZilla have a big bugs. We have try with 6 Servers and with another FTP Client. Only FileZille Client is not works....

after installing 3.29.0 version I could not connect to the server. I even tried going back to previous version but connection cannot be re-established anymore.

This week I started having access problem with my FileZilla where it showed me a network error message (​https://screenshot.net/pt/dn369an). I have checked my server access data several times and they are correct. Check my direct access to the server and they are accessing normally. It only started giving trouble when trying to access via FileZilla.

Now, it just not show any more messages (​https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-3bBaQBNJ0mV2Q3RUJlenFGT3U3Z2tFaHdfd3pINmlzRDdV/view). I try to access, just as I always did, but nothing happens.

I love Filezilla and till this latest version it has been excellent at downloading multiple files (for me it downloads 2 simultaneously) and while doing so maxing the bandwidth and splitting it pretty much evenly between the files.

This latest version seems to occasionally (say 5 out of every 10 loads of the program) either (1) pick up only a fraction of the available bandwidth for single file downloads, and/or (2) allocate the bandwidth unevenly between multiple files, e.g. 1 will get 300-600 KiB/s with the second getting 4.1MiB/s.

The workaround for the above is to right click on one of the downloading files, and uncheck 'Process Queue'. If I then wait for like 10 secs, the bandwidth seems to be allocated correctly (2.1MiB/s to each file).

NOTE: this has happened over several days, and after restarts of both the FTP server supplying the files, the modem, and computer running Filezilla. I did not notice it in previous versions. It therefore seems like it could be some kind of low priority issue.

If you try to use the mouse to drag a rectangular selection box around files listed in either the local or remote file list panes, the mouse cursor jumps to the bottom right corner of the screen.

This seems to happen only when the horizontal scroll bar is visible.

Start your selection in the blank space below the listed files.

If you do not change the position of the scroll bars after your mouse cursor jumps, you may be able to try again and successfully drag a selection around the files.

Sometimes mousecursor jumps in local fileexplorer window when try to mark multiple files/folders.

I click for drag and then the cursor jumps (while having markingbox) to the rightdown corner, like his position is set to infinity in mouseMoveEvent.

This doesn't happen if there are allready marked items.

(feels like 2 events compete at mouseevent)

special: I have a 2 monitor setup where my primary monitor is the left one, and the secondary monitor is the right one. On the logical site the left monitor is on the left site (So when I leave my primary(right) monitor on the left site I enter the left monitor).

The "Remember Passwords" dialog box, which asks you if you want to save passwords with a master password or not at all, has the word "reconnnect" which should be "reconnect." See below:

the first file you create after opening FileZilla has the correct timestamp -- any additional files you may create will have the same timestamp as the first file you created. this issue does not apply when directories are created. i first noticed this issue today when a new file i created showed as being several hours old -- at first i thought maybe the server time zone was wrong, or that the FileZilla time zone offset was wrong, but i eventually determined the timestamp was based upon the first created file.

presumably this is due to FileZilla creating a single file and then reusing it, but it seems like a simple way to improve this would be just to "touch" the file to update it's timestamp before uploading it.

When I download the latest release of FileZilla Client for Mac, I get an error message displaying that it is not supported on this type of mac and the file might be corrupted. I'm on macOS Mojave. Any idea why? It was displaying the same error message before I upgrade to Mojave. I use FileZilla most of my time so it is kind of critical for me not to have access to it atm..

Hello! I found a critical bug. I was found all my passwords in <USERDIR>/AppDataRoaming/FileZilla/recentservers.xml encrypted in Base64. I think, you should fix it, there is a big security risk!

FileZilla FTP Client

Currently when I am uploading a large file, FZ server seems to spin up the drive, load one chunk/packet into memory, close the file, upload the file and then repeat. It does this a 2~3 times a second until the file is finished uploading (perhaps several hours later). This is a waste of power and needlessly wears the drive (in the case of a physical drive).

I would love if you could buffer significantly more (many megabytes) into memory to avoid this.

But... obviously pretty low priority given that it sounds difficult to code for the amount of visible payoff. Think of it as helping the environment? For my case use alone it could allow at least one drive to be turned off/spun down several more hours a day.

Attempting to connect to update.filezilla-project.org is failing due to HSTS and the server using a self-signed certificate rather than a public CA or Let's Encrypt.

Testing the URL: ​https://update.filezilla-project.org with online certificate checkers report errors. Missing intermediate certificate seems to be the problem. Chain ends at filezilla-project.org which is not a valid Root CA.

This problem has been reported with bug #11934 and rejected. I have tested this at multiple sites and ​https://update.filezilla-project.org always fails to load. Mostly tested with Chrome or Firefox on macOS.

I'm try updating manually to new version 3.43.0, always work it, but didn't work it now, problems with libc6(GLIBC), I'm using Linux Mint 19 x64, now warning "libc6 not found", but have version 2.27, but not working, I did a rollback to 3.42.1 and is working again. What is the solution, please?

I use FileZilla for uploading managing and files and folders in multiple sites on my laptop for multiple clients.

Sometimes I leave my laptop at hotel or a coffee shop, etc

I am suggesting to add an option to ask for password if FileZilla is inactive for certain time like 30 minutes. Admins can change or de-activate it at any time.

Also, it would be good to add different access level for file and folder management & access like allowing multiple users accessing a site, yet each person only can access and manage certain file and folders. It would be a great security resource for larger projects.

Ik open het programma en meld dat er een update is. Ik klik op upgrade en hij download juist. Echter bij het installeren loopt het fout omdat een bestand nog in gebruik is van een programma. Begrijpelijk want het programma was nog niet volledig verdwenen.(melding cont..., abord,ingore) Bij het heropenen van het programma werd hij geuninstalleert en even later had ik een directory met niets in . Bij het aanklikken van het uitvoerbaar bestand van de nieuwe versie werd deze juist geinstalleert.

FileZile updated to the lates version 3.49.1.

For that the installer was downloaded to the downloads folder, file FileZilla_3.49.1_win64-setup.exe and was installed without problems.

In the same folder remained the previous installers FileZilla_3.48.1_win64-setup.exe, FileZilla_3.48.0_win64-setup.exe and FileZilla_3.47.2.1_win64-setup.exe

The anti-malware software mention in the summary Malwarebytes 4.1.0, flagged the installer file FileZilla_3.49.1_win64-setup.exe and only this one as Malware

You still have Virus infected versions on your servers. Please remove them as my favorite Mac updating app will not allow FileZilla to be checked for updates as you've been known to distribute malware in the downloads. These infected downloads are still present on your servers.

When

• server contains a file with contents "abc"
• client contains a file with contents "bac"
• files have the same size
• files have same date
• files have different time

Then

• the directory comparison view shows no difference (no colored line).

I have read about 50 changelogs and none of them have contained "added confirmation for drag and drop" meaning that I still have to use WinSCP (yuck), please add this as soon as possible (thousands of people have been asking for drag and drop confirmation for decades as they don't like to destroy their server with the accidental flick of a mouse cursor)

Hello, my Client got an Problem where she couldnt log in in our FTP Server it worked before but now she only gets the error Failed to connect to the server, on other PCs it worked but for her not. Is it maybe because she is using a vpn to connect to our Server and using wlan that it is too slow.

I downloaded and installed the update, 3.57.0. Now it will not connect when I enter command-R. Says TLS connection is established, enters the password (which has not changed), then times out. I restarted, but with same problem. Other FTP software works just fine. Only change is the new FileZilla.

Hello , if i am downloading just new files only from a server , and if there is old files exist in my local folder , i only need to see the status of the files that been skipped , i can see the logs up there but its too fast to track

on the transfer queue section i see

SEVER/LOCAL FILE - SIZE - DIRECTION - REMOTE FILE - SIZE - PRIORITY - TIME

I just need to see a new column shows the status of the new files that was processed last , downloaded or skipped

On the logging settings panel (see screen capture) there is a browse button. I assumed this would open the folder specified - ie my windows temporary folder. However, clicking BROWSE opens a folder to which I had recently exported a site definition, not the folder containing the logs.

This is not a serious problem as I was able to browse to the appropriate folder, and then view the logs, but that does take a little time! If I correctly understood the way this is supposed to work it would be nice to have it fixed.

In windows 11, I have enabled Windows's Long Path and having a LONG PATH enabled ftp server, when using FileZilla Client, somehow the file is not uploaded into intended long path dir, the maximum length of the dir that i can upload a file into is around below 1.024 characters.

So for example I am uploading a file into a dir in the ftp server which having length of 1.822 characters, filezilla client will cut off the directory and will uploaded it into below 1.024 characters length directory, instead of in the 1.822 character length directory.

How to overcome the 1.024 character length directory into 32.767 character length (​https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/fileio/maximum-file-path-limitation?tabs=cmd), 32.767 is the new maximum total characters path length .
