You are right about the CHGFTPA command, but as you said it is annoying to change this parameter globally because in our case we have some other script which may rely on the default way that the AS400 list the directories informations. As you said, I guess it shouldn't be to difficult to at least let the possibiblity to a filezilla user to add some customized command that would help a lot.

• In FZ2 the effect of double clicking on a file was configurable (Edit or launch file/Transfer); I may have missed it, but it seems that it is not the case anymore in FZ3, and I regret it.

• It would be nice to add an option to launch the Site manager on startup (like in FZ2 again).

• Although this could be useful for certain user, I find the automatic notice that a recently transfered file has been edited ("Do you want to update it ?") quite annoying. Would it be possible to add the option to turn the automatic transfer of edited files off ?

I really miss a "Synchronized browsing" feature. When you enable it (e.g., pressing a toolbar button) the program switches to "foo" remote directory when you enter "foo" local directory (and viceversa).

Example:

Local root: C:\Documents\Sites\Foo\htdocs Remote root: /home/xyz/htdocs

If you enter:

C:\Documents\Sites\Foo\htdocs\images

remote panel switches to:

/home/xyz/htdocs/images

I'd find it very useful when I'm uploading files to my web sites.

WinSCP has this feature.

It would be lovelly to have tha ability to set any FTP transfer to a certain time(hh:mm) and date(yyyy-mm-dd) to a list of files.

It would simply kick ass if FileZilla could record some actions(, edit, save, delete and execute them too).

When operating behind a firewall, there is a need to connect to sites that are both behind and outside of the firewall. It would be a good thing to be able to enable/disable the use of the FTP proxy on a site by site basis. Right now, you have to set the proxy to 'None' to connect to the internal sites and set it to the proxy to use to access sites outside the firewall. Unfortunately, setting the proxy to 'None' loses the custom proxy settings (which I have to use).

This feature I am requesting to add is:

All enabling/disabling of the use of the FTP proxy by site in the client.

Add a new proxy option: USER@HOST FIREWALLID The proxy option has the following script:

USER %u@%h %s PASS %p ACCT %w

Please bring back the "Default site" option to the Site Manager. This option allows a particular site to be selected automatically upon opening the Site Manager. This feature was in FileZilla 2.x. For more info, see 1792193.

If I drag and drop with the new versions I often drag it on top of a folder because the folder selection area goes all the way to the right.

In the older versions the folder selection area would only go on the name of the folder. That's why I removed filezilla 3 and went back to the 2 versions.

I have looked over the requests and couldn't find this, so I thought I would add it.

It would be nice if the window with which you can view the sites in the Site Manager was larger. It used to be really large back in FZ 2.x. What I am talking about is the area that is viewable for the tree of sites just below the words "Select Entry".

I do a lot of folders and sub-folders to organize the sites that I have, and it is annoying when I can only see a couple of them, and then not all the descriptions show up because they are beyond the viewable area.

I would have to say this is the probably the only thing in FZ 3.x that I would consider a bad change from FZ 2.x.

I would like to say that the software as a whole is excellent, and one of the best ftp programs out there.

I just wanna move some files to another directory on the remote host. This will be useful when arranging files. Thanks for your work.

I think the "There is a new version available" alerts at program launch are great. But I rarely install the update right then, because I've always opened FileZilla for an immediate need. I would like to see another button in this alert screen that would give me the option "Install after current session" or similar wording. Clicking this would open FileZilla normally, but would launch the update process when the application is closed (and would not restart FileZilla when the update is finished installing).

I have the Dutch version of FileZilla. It's called "Sitebeheer", "Uitgebreid", "Standaard externe map". I think it's translated in English: "Sitemanagement", "Advanced", "Default remote path".

Entering a value here always puts a "/" in front of it. This is not allways wanted, because when logging on to a ftp server I am put into a directory not neccesarily the root directory. I want to enter a relatvie path from the directory in wich I'm entering the ftp-server. For example "./mainwebsite_html/agp-w"

Further I must really compliment you with this excellent FTP client solution. I'm running it on Windows Vista Business 64bits and all works very nice and smooth. Even the updates are very well thought off !

To determine which Proxy should be used, browsers use Proxy Autoconfiguration Files. If Filezilla could use these Files too, manual configuration would become unnessecary in enterprise environments.

Hi and thanks for great product. It would be a great help if you could add the "Site Name" to the Title Bar. Currently it says Username@192.168.1.1 It would help if it said MY_SITE_NAME - Username@192.168.1.1 This is because I sometimes use the same username for different sites and then I'm not sure which site I'm working on.

I tend to work on two or three sites on any given day, so it would be extremely useful if there was a dropdown list of recently accessed sites, so I did not have to scroll through my long list of sites every time.

Is it possible you could strip the stable Linux build, that would reduce the linux package alot.

I've used the windows xp version and i love it. but when i use it on vista it sucks. I can't disconnect unless i close the program, i can't pause the downloads one by one. If you could put the same features as windows xp in the vista version itd be awesome. thanks

I have the FileZilla Server installed as service on a server that only I have access to. It is set to offline most of the time and only switched online for a specific download task (security reasons).

Several people have access to the Server Interface to be able to switch it online temporarily. It would be ideal if it were possible to set the FTP Server offline at startup of the service, now I have to do this manually (and remember it in particular) after a reboot of the server. Setting the service to start manually wouldn´t help me since I´m the only one with access to the service and the other users rely on the FilZilla Server service to provide them access to the Server Interface.

To make theming of FileZilla easier something else instead of one global themes.xml file should be used. FileZillla could, for example, instead look for *.xml files in a resources/themes directory and load everything from there.

ATM you have to manually edit the global themes.xml file which makes creating standalone themes more difficult. (For example within package management systems.)

Some FTP servers (eg ftp.worldofspectrum.org) limit the number of transfers using file counts instead of the number of bytes transfered. These sites often impose a file limit per day.

Would it be possible to have some settings that echo these limits.

Example:

Lets say we have a server that limits the number of files per ftp session to 200 and the number of files per day to 2000.

The FTP client queues up several folders worth of transfers totalling 2500 files.

FileZilla counts each transfer until the max files per session (as defined in site settings, 200 in this example) is reached. FileZilla then suspends the queue, disconnects from the remote server, waits a few seconds then reconnects (starting a new session) and resumes the queue. This process repeats (10 times in this example) until the number of files per day limit (also defined in site settings, 2000 in this example) is reached. Filezilla then suspends the queue, storing the remaining 500 queued entries, and refusing reconnection to the server for 24 hours.

I think it would be nice if users could specify different speed limits for different sites. Right now, there is only one global setting to control this.

My reason for this is as follows. I use FileZilla to download from my computer at home (SFTP), and in order not to kill my VOIP, I want to set a download speed limit to something low (e.g. 15kBps). However, if I'm downloading from some crazy fast site later on, I have to go change the global setting in order to get the good speed.

As of 3.0.7.1 keep-alives are being sent during a file transfer. I don't think I know of a server that will time out during a transfer, so this isn't really necessary. :)

This is the best FTP client I've ever used, and I edit remote files 100+ times a day with it.

What would save a lot of time for guys like me is having the option to save a file in the editor and have it automatically upload without this dialog:

"A file previously opened has changed: xxxx.xxx Upload this file back to the server?"

Maybe the dialog could include a checkbox to the effect of "Always use this answer."

Feature request RFE# 1707774 can be enhanced if after certain actions of field "Action after queue completion", the entries in "Failed Transfers" and "Successful Transfers" are stored and available the next time FileZilla client is opened.

E.g. after actions such as "Reboot system", "Shutdown system" or "Close FileZilla", the next time FileZilla is opened the user does not know if the transfer completed correctly or not, because "Failed Transfers" and "Successful Transfers" are empty.

Is it possible to keep information of fields "Failed Transfers" and "Successful Transfers" until the user decides to clear them, and not only until FileZilla is closed?

None of the sort tabs work, either by name, direction, size, or priority. It would also be nice to right click "pause" or stop. Not just stop and remove or unprocess queue.

I would be good (for me) if it was possible to separate view from edit and assign two separate programs to do those tasks. For example I tend to only make minor alterations to files from within filezilla and so use notepad, but if I want to view a file I will use Firefox.

When remote browser retrieves a long list of files, we need a search function like the searchbox in vista explorer. flashfxp has this function also(Ctrl-F).

Filezilla's broad feature support makes it a useful tool. However, storing FTP passwords would be much safer if it used the system's password mechanism. Gnome provides Keyring, KDE provides Kwallet, and OS X provides Keychain. Please include optional support for these mechanisms.

Hi, when a file transfer is happening, if I scroll up in the log, it keeps moving and I can't really read it.

My sugestion is that as soon as the log isn't at the very bottom, scrolling is frozen (though it continues to fill) so I can look back at the log and read entries while the transfer is still proceeding.

1. Option for hiding directorys that are hidden or marked as system (But still accessable)

2. Edit section for ban'ed Ip address's Said ip maybe a freind messing around (you may want to let them back in)

3. An option for restricting the number of connections from a single ip address.

4. Site Message Option - Drop a message to all or a single user that the Server may be comming down for work in a few.

Filezilla forget the download/failed/succesfull Queue after closed the client

It should be viewable after close / restart.

Add a right-click "copy URL" (to clipboard) feature to remote files/folders. Associate a URL with sites/paths in the site manager and use this to compute the answer. This is the feature I miss the most from "Smart FTP Client". --joe

I think it would be great to have an option in XP File Explorer to right click and send the selected file to any of the sites that are set up in filezilla.

Obviously it would have to just send it to the root/default folder that you have set in filezilla. But I know of lots of times where I am hunting stuff down in XP File Explorer and would love to just right click and hit FTP to -> "Pick Sitename".

Hope that explains the request. Also just for reference I did research quite a bit doing this on my own hacking my regedit or send to options and because of the internal list stored in Filezilla of the sites none of the things I found would work.

GlobalSCAPE CuteFTP has a feature called "Lockstep Folder Navigation" that I would love to see implemented in FileZilla as well. When you navigate to a folder in one pane, the program automatically navigates to the equivalent location in the other pane. I'll give an example to explain better:

You connect to a server. The left-hand pane (your local machine) is showing "C:\Website". The right-hand pane displays the contents of the server, "/". Suppose that both contain a folder called "images." You double-click on the images folder in the left-hand pane, opening it, so now the left-hand pane shows "C:\Website\images". With lockstep navigation, the right-hand pane would then automatically navigate to "/images/", without requiring the user to click on the images folder in this pane.

In other words, it would detect that you navigated to a folder in one pane that has an equivalent in the other pane, and accordingly would open both. Similarly, if you were to double-click on the ".." folder in the right pane at this point, it would move up by one directory in both panes.

This is a time-saving, convenience feature--it's not a bug fix or anything critical--but it really is fantastic, and I hope to see it in future versions of FileZilla.

Many people are using WinScp (which I find has an inferior interface and is slower than filezilla) only because they need the Scp protocol and make calls to Putty.

If you implement this, we can just switch over to Filezilla!

Whenever i delete a file on my production servers i want to make sure i havn't clicked on the wrong file.

Please add the file name / folder name in the confirm dialog of the element that will be deleted.

The menu structure is confusing as the Export to file and Import from file is under the Edit menu. I assumed that this feature did not exist as it wasn't under the File menu.

From a usability point of view both Import and Export should be under the File menu.

I love your server, but I am running into issues that boxes that I have only support SFTP. I would love to see SFTP support in your server.

The best thing I like to see is that it's possible to copy url and i convert it to the www adress. eg copy path ​ftp://ftp.server.com:21//public_html/lo ... f/the/file

FileZilla is getting better and better, unfortunately passwords are stored in cleartext (filezilla.xml). I would also appreciate if you could implement the "ask for password" feature in FTPproxy-settings. Otherwise periodicaly changing passwords tend to make hotlines busy.

It could be very nice to add file and directory exclusions for uploads.

For example, I work with SVN and I have a ton of ".svn" directories in my web projects. When I upload one to a FTP server, I would like not to upload the ".svn" directories and their contents...

I'd see a double option on a per-site configuration option as well as a general option.

This is at the same time an improvement request and a bug. Right now, when you delete one directory, it is not possible to delete another until the first deletion is done.

It could be nice to be able to delete several directories at the same time from the directory tree window... And that the directory tree window does not follow the deletion during the time it occurs.

Our office does a lot of web design and everyone agrees that this would be an awesome feature!

If there could be a toggle button on the main tool bar that puts Filezilla Client into SDT (Simultaneous Directory Traversal) mode which means that if you change directory in the local window, it will look for a directory with the same name on the remote side. If it finds one it automatically opens it.

If you are in a directory of the same name in both local and remote windows and you move back a directory in the local window then it also moves back a directory on the remote side too.

It would be great to have it have this functionality in both the remote window and local window... I described it above with only the local window firing this special functionality but that was just to keep the wording simple. It should definitely be turned on for both given the toggle is on.

There should also be an option in settings that lets you say whether the check for whether you are in a folder of the same name is case sensitive or not... with the default being 'not'.

This feature would save us a TONNE of time over the course of a month with the number of times we have to click 'includes' on both, then '..' on both, then 'admin' on both etc. while simply trying to update files quickly that are located in different directory without using the tree view.

It takes too many steps to resume failed transfers

I'd like something like a button or context menu alternative such as "move all failed transfers to queue tab and resume transfer"

This instead of having to mark all failed transfers moving them back to the queue tab, and then resume transfer.

When using drag-and-drop to move files and folders inside filezilla (drag-and-drop being the only method i have found in FZ so far) i experience problems when there is a long list of files as i cannot seem to scroll up the list when dragging files, and hence cannot get the files to go into the directory i want. Also, sometimes you want to move files/folder into heavily nested folders and the drag and drop method is inefficient. It would be good to have the directory be editable in a properties window for selected files and folders, that way you can just type a new directory and they will be moved there.

Please mention the plain-text version of the properties, FileZilla SErver.xml, in your wiki/FAQ/docs somewhere. I hope to use this file for replicating an installation from one machine to another, and it would be helpful to know whether that file is really the source of properties or not.

If you really want to make a new feature, I was thinking you might want as an Export/Import sort of thing, for people who are not happy with finding an XML file in the install folder, but that is not strictly necessary.

I've been really disappointed to see, that filezilla 3.0.8.1 misses the feature to view/edit files on the local harddisk, while there is no connection to a ftp server. This feature already worked in filezilla 2 and I really miss it.

After changing a file via View/Edit filezilla always asks if it should resubmit the altered file. Is it possible to turn those questions off in the options?

For regular / re-occurring file transfers, it would be great to have either a dedicated scheduler, or at least be able to run FileZilla from a command line with all switches/options which could then be set up for regular-re-occurring execution by the Windows event scheduler. Thanks!

I do a lot of editing of files, and currently to make a copy of a file before I edit it, I do this:

1. Switch to c:\temp
2. Copy file from remote to temp
3. Rename it locally to filename.ext.backup
4. Re-upload to server

Would be great if I could just ctrl+drag a file on the remote view to create a copy of a file.

Or right-click and "Create backup" which will just copy a file and put .backup on the end of it.

I'm running Filezilla 3.0.8.1 on linux.

There are a few things I'd love to see improved with the Site Manager "Sites" UI.

• I'd like to be able to make the sites viewing area wider or narrower on demand. Right now there is a fairly small space and it feels a little cramped, especially when I want to have longer names, or folder trees. Right now, it uses scrollbars, but I'd like to be able to change the size via drag&drop.

• When trying to rename/delete/copy sites or folders, the keyboard shortcuts don't seem to be working. Pressing R or D or C will simply select the site that has those letters as their first letter. It won't actually delete them until I manually click the buttons.

• I can't seem to drag&drop existing sites between folders. I can add a folder, and add a site to that folder, but I can't move sites between folders. I'd like it if I could add a folder, then move an existing site to that folder.

• In the General tab, in the Logontype dropdown menu. I'd like to be able to type the first letter of the option I want and it automatically selects it (this is the standard html behavior). Right now, when you have the dropdown menu active, pressing N for 'Normal' doesn't do anything, but I'd like it to select the 'Normal' option, and so on.

I habitually upload multiple files to servers, always with the same settings, "Overwrite if source newer" and "Always use this action." Of course, other people have their own preferences they usually use.

Please make FileZilla Client remember the last-used settings for this dialog box, even on the next execution of the software. This saves time having to select the same options again and again.

I would like to see shortcut to set the current directory (on the home or the remote) as the initial directory for that connection, after you have already connected.

Currently, you have to go back to the site settings find the appropriate text field, and type in the path manually.

I see there are a lot of requests for context menu items, so maybe this could be a button. Perhaps on the path bar?

This is what I do manually : 1) I connect to my first server 2) I download a selected directory and sub-dirextories and files into a temporary directory in my local computer 3) when it's done I delete on my fisrt server the selected directory and sub-dirextories and files 4) when it's done I disconnect my first server 5) I connect to my second directory 6) I upload the downloaded directory and sub-dirextories and files 7) when it's done I disconnect my second server

Is it possible to do these 7 step automatically with filezilla ?

It would be very helphull if the (ej. ;2) version number is removed when transfering a file from Open VMS. At this moment when you transfer a file from VMS, it also transfer the version number as part of the whole name. This make impossible to detect in AUTO mode if the file is ASCII or Binary and also no association could be made on the Windows side unless you remove the version number.

Example File with version number: test.txt;10 File without version number: test.txt

I would like to see support of Cerberus FTP Server's Virtual Root Directory for Users to be included in the next release of FileZilla.

Add command line parameter that allows the site and folder.

Then in Windows at least the registry could be changed so that any link such as ​ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/desktop/aspire_e360/

on a web page or in an email would invoke Filezilla, open the site and position to the folder.

Enhance the "preserve timestamps of transfered files" feature, by adding an option to preserve in only 1 direction or the other.

For example, I'd like be able to download files preserving timestamps, but upload files with the current time.

This will be useful for uploading JSP files to a Tomcat server.

Under the "Transfer" menu... rename menu item:

"preserve timestamps of transfered files"

to:

"preserve timestamps of all transfered files"

add menu items:

"preserve timestamps of uploaded files only" "preserve timestamps of download files only"

Implement a "touch" command on the right-click of a file to set the current timestamp.

Problem: If on the remote server there is a symbolic link that does not refer to a directory (i.e. it points to a file), the following error is issued:

File-Zilla Client: Command-Connection to a server should be keep-Alive by the NOP Operation. Calculate the Idle Time of the Command-Connection and initiate a NOP Command every 120 sec for example. Every NOP or any other communication of the Direction "Client->Server" should reset the Idle-Time-Counter.

FileZilla supports APPEND to complete a broken upload. In my case this faild on several tests. I will suggest the technique other FTP-Clients use:

In the Upload-Case:

1) Read the Size of the File On Server 2) Use the Restart Command with "Size-4096" Bytes (this is because Servers/Filesystems may preallocate Space for uploaded files and the content of the end of this files may undefined) 3) Upload at the given position

The background: When I open FileZilla, I have a specific task ahead of me and want to get it done as quickly as possible. Today I opened it and was faced with the "Update Available" window, so I clicked "Next" just to download the update so I could run it later. Unfortunately, I discovered I had to wait for the entire update process to complete before I could get on with my task.

The request: I would love to see the "Update Available" window only show up when I shut FileZilla down, as then I could just let it go in the background since it wouldn't be interfering with what I originally opened the program to do. The same end would be achieved but would be less intrusive on the workflow of the user.

I consider this a gross bug, but I didn't want it deleted for being out of place.

As a new, non-programmer user of FileZilla, I saw the "please report all bugs" on my first run and decided to comply. Unfortunately, I assume most people who think the same thing will stop short of reporting bugs and feature requests because of the insane process that stands between them and the submit button.

There were at least 11 steps involved over three separate websites/programs before I could even begin typing up my bug/feature request, and this must be changed if you want the wider community to contribute.

The steps I had to follow:

1. Search through FileZilla menus for bug reporting.
2. Find FileZilla website in "About" or web search.
3. Note no mention of bug reporting on menu; see brief mention only on introduction page.
4. Get to SourceForge, click on "Bugs".
5. Click on "Login to Submit New".
6. Click "Register".
7. Fill out form.
8. Check email for confirmation message.
9. Find FileZilla project page again.
10. Click "Bugs".
11. Click "Submit New".
12. Fill out Bug submission form.

And that doesn't even count searching through the existing requests and looking for possible matches.

Any non-programmer user without the stubborn tenacity to complete the bug request would have dropped off long before the "Register" page which would be a big enough block to turn most people off from going on.

The Bug reporting procedure NEEDS to be fixed. The ideal solution would be to have a menu within FileZilla that would bring up a bug reporting form -- such as "Report Bug" to the right of "Help" (or even under the help menu). At the very least, this menu could bring the user to the Bug Reporting page or Feature Request page on SourceForge, at which point anonymous submissions would have to be allowed (or if there's a way to have a general "Anonymous FileZilla User" account that would automatically be logged into if the page referral is from the FileZilla client itself and there is not already a SF user cookie in play on that computer).

Whatever happens, if FileZilla's community is genuinely wanting people to participate, there need to be dramatic changes.

When a timeout occurs, the log shows you "server disconnected". It could tell us "Server disconnected. Press the R button to reconnect." This would help some users to discover this feature.

How about synchronizing the folder-views while navigating through either directory tree (local or remote site). If the selected folder (name) equals a folder (name) in the opposite view, on "folder sync" a doubleclick on one of them triggers the same action on the other.

Various dialog boxes have the positions of the OK and Cancel buttons reversed from what has become the norm, which is Cancel on the left and OK (or Connect) on the right. The reason for doing things this way is that as English readers and writers, we normally work from left to right. However, to proceed with an action by moving (visually, logically) to the left to click the Connect button for example, clashed with user-friendly interface design. Thanx!

I'using KeePass, a password manager that sends logins and/or password to windows, looking for thei title.

So I don't store site passwords in FileZilla, but I define each parameter of the sites, and set the autentication method to "Ask for password".

It would be nice to have something like "Enter password for Name_of_the_site_as_specified_in_site_manager" instead of simply "Enter password" when I connect to a site.

This way KeePass would automatically recognize which password to use for every site.

I have used FileZilla 2.x (currently 2.2.32) heavily for years, and especially rely on GSSAPI/Kerberos and IPv6 functions of FileZilla client. I did a trial install of 3.0.9.3, but uninstalled it when I was unable to find these features. Are they hidden? Or did they get dropped in the recode from 2.x to 3.x? In any event, please restore them so I can use a current version of FileZilla.

I'd like the client to show Queued files to be sorted by Highest to Lowest. So, if file #100 in the queue is changed to Highest, it would automatically be #1 on the list.

I have two FTP servers that need commands on startup to be useful. Those commands are "site long" for a novell server and "site cyl pri=7 sec=1 lrecl=235 blksize=0 unit=TEST" for a VMS mainframe. These commands are a little long to remember to type in before transferring any files.

It would be nice if the sum of filesize from selected files appear in the statusbar. (Like Explorer in Windows with statusbar activated)

it would be useful if there were a context menu entry "set as local directory" when clicking in the local site window. This would then set the "default local directory" that at the moment has to be set via site manager and "advanced" register tab.

It would be very useful to show the number of currently selected files for both the local PC and remote server. When comparing directories with a large number of files, you are stuck without knowing if one is missing.

Previously the default directory trees were expanded automatically. Any chance of this being reimplemented?

In version 3.0.9.3 (and 3.0.x.x versions), some features included into 2.2.32 are no more implemented.

That features are all linked to download queue management:

• Reordering (up, down, last, bottom,...) list of file in the waiting downloading queue
• Add priority on file download

They implement it and extend the ordering command.

That is not a protocol mandatory feature, but that provide an end-user usefull feature mainly in case of multi-file download.

In my case, I can program the download of more than 30 files simultaneously (from the same site), sometime the download can't be achieved in one time (Server side failures). Then I have only some part of all files on my local disk.

Because the download queue management doesn't provide any options to drive the download file's order choice based on the yet downloaded size against the full file size evaluation (when possible), that features that provide to user the capability to 'manually' reordering the downloaded planned queue can be *very* usefull to be sure to have at least some of them quickly complet.

E.g. : I have 10 files with a size between 500 MB and 1.5 GB. The first one (1.5 GB) have 50% of its data downloaded, the third one (500 MB) have 10%. I need relaunch the download, but this time I want invert the order because the third one have only 450 MB of data that must be downloaded, against the 750 MB of the first one. If I have the same download speed for the both of them, then the third one (450 MB) can be downloaded quickess than the first one (750 MB).

problem: DSL hat today 10 MBit and more. if i have to download files from severl servers, it should start for ech sit eone queue, if my bandwidth is not fully used. at the oment muc difficut, becase i have to play withpriority and mark single files and then restart queue.

Can you please add support for server type AS/400 or Iseries.

When one want to include FTP support in a program without having to code a native FTP client in the program, it would be nice to be able to call a FileZilla dll to get the connection, file transfert, directory listing, and so on, using the Filezilla connection that the user have already defined using Filezilla instead of having to reinvente Fileilla inside the program.

As Filezilla Server is for Windows, I think it would be great to be able to use the Windows Domain (which in most cases will be the localhost) for user authentication. Rights management can be obtained via ntfs permissions. So it's not necessary to manage several accounts, their passwords and permissions.

Hello. I have just downloaded FZ and I have to say that is quite nice. I have a suggestion for a new feature, that is quite simple to develop and useful for all those use tools such as Adobe Dreamweaver. When I upload a file to a server I have to make myself sure that in the "remote files" panel must be selected the same correpondent directory where the file is destined to, or I will put the file in the wrong place. This is quite annoying because it can be necessary to edit files that are located in different directories, for several reasons. For instance it could be needed to edit a functions file, while a CSS together with the file that uses both. If I have three branches I have to seselct each time the different remote directory where I have to put each file, one at a time. With a "parallel directory" feature this couldn't be required, because each file belongs to a directory, both local and remote. This is a feature that is missing on the various FTP clients I have seen and used, and I think it is quite useful for professionals.

I see you have a linux version for the client. Is there any possibility that a linux server will be made available. I would like to move my server to linux but Filezilla is the easiest server to set up under windows and I would like it for Linux.

I'm missing the small feature in the new version that displays the total number of files / total filesize for each directory.

I use some size restricted servers, so it's necessary to see how much of that size do I already use. And the total number of files is necessary for my website report (as for example to know the total number of e-cards created in a specific month).

in Filezilla 3 HTTP-PROXY support is not present ( I haven't FTP Proxy only HTTP proxy)

Filezilla 2 has this support. in example, in Filezilla 2.2.32, I can insert my http proxy in:

• Filezilla Options
• Connection
• Proxy settings

then i set Http 1.1 proxy and insert my hostname and port (username and password not needed for me but optionally supported with checkbox)

please help me with Filezilla 3 I cannot connect
