All of current technologies that provide File Transfer Protocol re upload whole updated and edited file(s) even if the file changes by a minimum of one byte. Hello:

I tried to upload a number of files into a server through FileZilla by clicking a file, then Shift Click that resulted in a selection of 11 files. Then, I drag & drop the files to the server file list.

Opted to overwrite the existing files > Always use this action > Apply to current queue only.

All the 11 transfers then failed.

It would be great to have a 'refresh' button in the menu of the server.

I don't see a feature to copy or even cut and paste, and I as wondering how hard that would be to impliment. That's the only thing that seems to be holding this great FTP client back and if it was possible to do that, I'd be very happy. I searched back some requests and didn't find it. I hope I didn't just double this. Sorry if I did.

For some reason a few of the Blukis icons look visibly jagged in my nowadays common display size (1280 x 1024)

The same icons loaded in SVG format (as posted in Filezilla forums) in Inkscape and then displayed at the same icon size/resolution (32 x 32, 64 x 64) look awesome, so this seems to be easily fixable.

This is specially evident in the icons containing the refresh circle, upload and download arrows, and the little earth.

I am finding random files in my web directories, and I found a problem.

When I download a file, open it, edit it, and hit "save", the following prompt shows up:

A file previously opened has been changed: C:\Documents and Settings\FRANKF\My Documents\website\new_site\public_html\style\layoutFluid.css Upload this file to server?

(There is also a check box for "continue editing" which I leave unchecked)

I will click “no” and the file will uploads anyway to a random directory (not even the one that I originally downloaded the file from)

The last time it happened it was in a folder called "dev" and it uploaded to a subfolder (under dev) called "downloads". The time before I downloaded and edited a file from "style" and when I clicked "no" it uploaded to "testcart" (both directories on the same level)

I am using FileZilla Version 3.1.0.1 – most recent version at this time.

I am using Microsoft Windows XP Professional Operating System Version 5.1.2600

This is a bit scarry, because I am not sure if any "index" files or other files that have the same name in different directories might be overwritten when this happens.

When the current tab is the left most or right most tabs, and the user double clicks the right or left tabs arrows, a new tab titled 'not connected' is created at the right. The new tab will continue to be created as long as the user continues to click.

Earlier I used Foxit Reader to open PDF files but then I removed it and installed Adobe Reader. However, now whenever I try to open PDF files from FileZilla browser, it still seeks for Foxit Reader to handle them and does not associate them with Adobe Reader which is now a default program. Do you think it's a problem with my system settings or FileZilla?

When i'm doing web-stuff, I always Alt-tab from mozilla, editor and ftp program, i never use the mouse during that, and i didn't found any keybord shortcut in order tu upload/download selected file(s), is there one ? If not, that would be cool if you add one !

Seems that everyday my copy of Filezilla is getting slower and slower to start. I believe the problem comes from the "Theme" feature which scans executable on other file to tag on a nice little image.

This scanning should be a separate thread which doesn't affect the performance of the client. Currently it hangs until this scanning is done.

Please include a Theme named "Disable" and make no file scanning is done.

To test : Put 30-40 files in a folders which are executables. Also, try to go with a loaded "My Documents" folder.

There seems to be a lack of right click options for the upload/download queue v 3.3.0.1 seems you can halt all the queue and remove all but lacks a option on right click to just halt and leave in the queue (pause) only way is to remove selected and then redrag it to the queue to resume it

I maintain three Windows Sites at AMHOSTING.COM. These all require ACTIVE transfer mode. Now, all three sites no longer work with FileZilla.

The earlier version worked fine. Native FTP sessions with (from Windows NT; Windows Vista 32 and 64 bit) FTP sessions using SMARTFTP (using ACTIVE transfer) work fine.

Hello , if i am downloading just new files only from a server , and if there is old files exist in my local folder , i only need to see the status of the files that been skipped , i can see the logs up there but its too fast to track

FileZilla client appears to have a bug in importing password-protected private keys for SFTP when encrypted with AES-256-CBC. I found no mention in docs re: the intentional exclusion of this cipher combination, plus no error message is returned, which suggests that this may be a bug. There are no relevant log entries or terminal output, even in debug mode. This was tested and confirmed on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows 10.

When i doubleclick an afp-file the file will be transferred to the temporary folder and the associated program (AFPBROWSE.exe from Beta Systems) is started, but the browser does not open the file.

One of my users upgraded FileZilla on her Windows PC to version 3.22.0.

While in one of the filename sections of the window the ALT-key is getting ignored when pressed simultaneously with another key.

This leads to unwanted down- and uploads when ALT+SPACE is pressed to open the system menu of the program window. Other effects of that bug are only minor, e.g. corresponding menu items do not open.

If the key combinations are pressed subsequently the behaviour is as expected.

Windows 7 Pro 64bit. Program load fine it only crashes when you try to connect to a FTP site. Here is the error Problem signature:

I want to use FileZilla to upload Files to a Server. I want FileZilla to insert Files to the remote Filesystem that does not exist on the Server so far. FileZilla asks me how to handle Files on my sytem that are older on the server. What FileZilla does not ask me - and does wrong - is handling files with an identical timestamp on my PC and the Server. I transfer ASCII-Files. On my system a linebreak is stored with 2 bytes. The remote system stores one byte per linebreak. It strips off the extra byte automatically, thus making the file shorter. FileZilla on an update of the whole directory structure recognizes the identical FileDate and the different (smaller) filesize and thus thinks it has to APPEnd extra bytes to the file on the server. That's why I'd call "motherfucking bullshit" ;-) It does not malke sense at all. My ASCII-files are PHP scripts that now become unparsable by PHP and screw up my whole system. It took me 3 houres yesterday (Sunday evening) to figure this error out, finally delete all files on the server and upload them wholly. So please change FileZilla that it works in a way it does not automatically corrupt my scripts.

Tried filezilla 2.3.8c to access a ftp server running under os400 v5.2 Directory listing is totally broken. Compared with command line ftp and ws_ftp it does not show simple files, only folders. I will be pleased to supply to the Dev Team the necessary information for correctly parsing AS400 ftp server replies and collaborating in testing.

Hello, At each new version upgrade, I choose "upgrade using existing settings". For most settings, it works fine, but each time the ASCII file types list is reset to the default value. I wish to only transfer dotfiles as ASCII, so at each new version I must remove the entire list of ASCII extensions. Thanks ! Ben

In Options, you can set several file extensions which should be treated as ASCII files. However, this field is limited to 10 positions. On the system I need to administer, extensions are used longer then 10 characters (for instance, foo.MailReceiver) In the current situation it is not possible to add these types as ASCII.

Please enlarge this field to , say, 255 positions??

OS of client: windows XP OS of server: HP-UX 11 Filezilla version: 2.2.3 I tried to transfer a file with a txt extension from windows PC to HP-UX server, using transfer type Auto- detect and transfer type ASCII. In both occasions, the file was transferred in binary mode leaving DOS line terminators in the file on the server.

I have had multiple problems transferring to and from various linux servers from XP with filezilla my current version is 2.2.18. this problem was noted on previous versions as well.

I have noted may other seemingly unresolved but closed complaints about this bug.

It appears the problem relates to the file being first saved to the server in binary mode, in other words the crlf pair is retained.

if you then transfer the file to a windows machine in ascii mode the file becomes corrupted.

Filezilla does not account for the crlf pair and adds an extra cr making it crcrlf so in hex 0D 0A Becomes 0D 0D 0A

This has been verified.

to repeat it upload an ascii win/dos file to a nix server in binary mode then download it in ascii mode open the file in a hex editor not the hex values as above

I beleive this is the main source of various complaints about ascii mode transfers

filezilla should check for crlf not just cr when doing the ascii nix=>win conversion. if there is a crlf pair then leave as is if there is only a lf then add the cr

This has been reported at least twice before (tickets 614075, 580087), but as of the current version v2.1.7, FileZilla is still incapable of using ASCII mode for SFTP transfers. I am attempting to transfer Perl scripts but cannot use FileZilla because of this problem.

I want to use FileZilla because my current FTP client, WS_FTP LE, doesn't support SFTP; my server is being changed to SFTP only soon. Regardless of whether I download a particular file from my server, setting the file extension in Edit :: Settings :: ASCII / Binary :: ASCII file, or manually specify Transfer :: Transfer Type :: ASCII, the file is downloaded in Binary mode. If I download the same file with WS_FTP it is downloaded correctly in ASCII mode.

I understand that some versions of SFTP don't have an ASCII transfer mode. If that is the case, either the options for ASCII / Binary should all be greyed out when connected via SFTP, or preferably SFTP would itself handle the ASCII / Binary conversion...

Hi, a couple of very handy options that I miss from SmartFTP:

1) a toolbar button allowing me to specify ASCII or binary transfer

2) ability to have a sound play when transfer of files to their destination is done, thereby enabling me to immediately do a refresh in my browser to see if the web page I've transferred looks as it should. The sound is a great cue because I don't have to be in FileZilla to watch and see when the file has transferred, instead I can be in my browser and hear when it's transferred.

It connects and executes ls command, and hangs (because it isn't using passive mode, I think).

Open up connection manager, alter it to use passive mode for this site, and hit connect button. Answer Yes to prompt for break current connection.

I speculate that the problem is that it was still trying to break the current connection. This doesn't reproduce if I do the same test with passive mode the whole time, but also it doesn't hang in that case.

BASICALLY I NEED YOUR PROGRAM TO AUTOMATICALLY CONNECT TO A SITE SETUP IN THE MANAGER. CHECK THE DIRECTORY TO SEE IF THERE IS DATA IF THERE IS DOWNLOAD THE FILE TO A DIRECTORY.

Version 3 seems to be missing some of the SSL support that version 2 had.

In version 2 I could connect with a servertype of "FTP over SSL (explicit encryption)", which would send an "AUTH SSL" command to which I would receive a "234 AUTH TLS-P/SSL OK." response.

Version 3 has a servertype of "FTPES - FTP over explicit TLS/SSL", but this sends an "AUTH TLS" command and the server I'm trying to connect to responds with "234 AUTH TLS-C/TLS OK." and then times out when sending the "USER" command.

Perhaps this is a really a bug with the new "FTPES - FTP over explicit TLS/SSL" servertype (in which case I'll be glad to submit it to the bug list), but since it's trying to use "AUTH TLS" instead of "AUTH SSL", I'm assuming that it's a missing feature.

It'd be very nice if you could add support for the AUTH TLS feature to the FileZilla client. Seeing as you already have the OpenSSL built in and even AUTH SSL implemented most of the work seems already done.

Sometimes, users cant see movies they upload in the display list whatever FTP Servers. In fact, only AVI files aren't displayed. Take an avi file, upload it, it will be in FTP but you won't see it with FileZilla. You need to use another FTP Client. More precisly, it's the file extension .AVI which isn't listed (MIME type isn't checked). Upload any files, rename it with the extension .avi, refresh, oh it disappeared !

the attached file contains a "refresh" log with debug lvl 4. AVI files are on the server but filezilla doesn't display them.

I do web development and have 100's of sites that I connect to. I have everything organized in folders using the site manager, but it can still be tricky sometimes finding the site I want to connect to. It would be really nice to have some type of keyword filter search for the Site Manager. Maybe right next to where it says "Select Entry", if there could be a text box that filters the results based on keyword.

It would be very nice if you could drag a file from the local or remote panes onto a folder icon in the other pane to upload or download to it. As it is now, you must chdir to a directory before you can upload a file to it. If that directory has a lot of files in it, it can take a long time to download the directory listing. It seems like it would be relatively simple to implement. Other FTP clients, like Bullet Proof FTP, let you do that.

I am speaking to functionality similar to the 'RemenDeKO' or 'Remote File Fixer' programs found on sourceforge. The idea is that you divide the file up into blocks and use CRC to check the integrity of each block. Then, only the corrupted blocks need to be re-transferred instead of the entire file.

This would be particularly useful after downloading a very large file or over a slower connection.

The problem with the programs mentioned above is that they require user participation on both ends of the file transfer. It would be much more convenient to have this functionality built directly into an ftp server/client, so that the task could be automated.

This one would be a very useful feature especially considering I've seen FZ server use up to 12% CPU on high load. Because the server runs in the background it's always activated. So I don't want it arbitrarily slowing down my computer when I'm doing something intensive. Also I know there are those people out there who would like to have it the other way around and use their server at high prio on dedicated machines.

I don't know what language FZ is written in but in VB it's dead easy to implement such a feature with SetPriorityClass. All itwould need is an entry to read and write to in the .ini advertising the feature, an option with the priority somewhere in the UI, (Realtime, AboveNormal, Normal, BelowNormal, and Low) and a bit of code that would apply the setting at two points - on startup and on saving settings. Sounds like fifteen minutes of work.

I find the remote file search very useful but also restricting. For example, I often search for error logs and having several subdomains I end up with a long list.

Invariably I want to open a file to see, and often edit its contents but I can't do so without waiting for the search to finish (or stopping the search).

Could I suggest one or more of the following in order of preference:

1. To be able to click on a file in the list and read/edit it.
2. For the search results form not to be a fixed dialog so that one can perform other functions whilst it is running (for example open and edit a file from the main FZ screens).
3. Export a copy of the search results so that they can easily be referred to outside FZ (say in notebook)

I would like to be able to specify that files/directories matching a certain mask should not be transferred as part of a recursive upload/download.

This would make it possible to upload/download from subversion controlled directory trees without having to do an export first to remove all of the .svn directories.

I'd love to use FileZilla as a permanent FTP solution, but to do this I need one feature that I think would be fairly easy to implement - though I have not looked at your source code.

Essentially, I would like your program, FileZilla, to have the ability to follow these steps, with appropriate preconfiguration as needed:

1: Uploads or downloads a file as normal. 2a: If server hashing is supported, simply hash compares with (any / best) hash algorithm available. 2b: If server hashing is NOT supported, (re)downloads the file at hand into a temp file and does a local binary compare. 3a: If the process from 2a or 2b fails it deletes the temp files and the appropriate local/remote file and starts with step 1 on the same file. 3b: If the process from 2a or 2b is successful it flags that operation as a success and continues. 4: Based on an optional per-queue setting it deletes the local or remote file that was just successfully transfered. 5: FileZilla continues with the next item and starts the process at step 1.

Essentially, I want a file-comparison while-loop. It really isn't as complicated as it sounds, and a somewhat minimal/gimped version of this has been made by myself (with help) in the BASH language utilizing cURL. I do great things with scripts (Windows side...!); but for things like this an already built GUI is amazing.

I frequently have to work with FTPS / FTPES servers, and it would be a nice feature to be able to connect to these from the QuickConnect bar.

It would be nice if you could actually specify the private key to use for each SFTP connection. Having to use Putty's default key is completely counter-intuitive, and also means that if you want to connect to different servers using different keys, you have to keep changing Putty's key.

Version 3.2.0 Windows XP 64-bit w/SP2

Each time on startup I get the "Operating system problem detected" message. This is very annoying. It should only appear the first time I run the program from a new install. After that it should not appear anymore.

At least add a check box to "Do not show this again."

As of now, to change tabs using the keyboard, one would press Control and a number from the top row to change to that corresponding tab, for example CTRL+1 to the first tab, CTRL+2 to the second, and so forth.

Personally I find it much more natural to use ALT+# instead of CTRL+#. Most Linux applications with tabs (Firefox, Konsole) use ALT+# to change tabs and as a mostly Windows user, I remap everything I can to use ALT+#.

Please consider implementing this in Filezilla by giving the end user the option of using CTRL or ALT plus a number to change tabs.

I am living in china, Simplified Chinese is the mainland's offical language. I used the Filezilla 3.2.0 to login into some ftp site which have some Simplified Chinese directories. The problem is that these directories was showed abnormally in the 'Remote site:' bar as below words: '/¡ô¶¯ÂþÒ»Çø¡ô'. But these directories were showed normally in the remote directories list.

I have to use the Filezilla 2.2.32, it is ok in this situation.

When I want to add files in a accentuated directory, FZ 3.1.1 creates a new directory whith acentuated chars replaced. An example :

When connecting to a FTP server over SSL the client displays a "Accept certificate?" dialog allowing the user to either reject or accept the certificate.

The dialog however does not display the keys fingerprint, making it impossible to determine if the client is talking to the server intended or that someone is using a man-in-the-middle attach to steal passwords using a fake certificate.

Binary for 2.1.7 compiled with VC++ 7.1 causes an access violation in CApiLog::LogMessage when exiting FileZilla.exe. The attached .diff fixes the problem.

Access to below folder path failed, the folder ”First vendor” was created by the vendor.

The problem is that the folder “First vendor” has an extra space at the end, so it was actually “First vendor ”, but we cannot see that in FileZilla client, and we cannot rename or delete the folder.

The folder can be accessed using other FTP software like “Leechftp”.

We use Zscaler as proxy, traffic is reaching FileZilla using Zsclaer ranges (like ATL DC 104.129.206.0/23) and we are not getting access. We confirmed that whitelisting needs to be done in FileZilla to ensure access from Zscaler works.

Letter navigation doesn't work in the local or remote tree views. For example, typing the letter F repeatedly should cycle through all the expanded items beginning with that letter. Possibly not a priority issue, but never the less it's inconvenient for visually impaired users like myself who rely primarily on the keyboard and screen reading software. I'm using the latest 3.0.1 official release.

When navigating through folders a single click very often leads to a file or folder renaming. More than that, sometimes when I double click on the folder - it requests this folder's contents AND activates renaming feature, so when it finishes listing new folder - old renaming box stays on the screen, as if now you are renaming a file or a folder inside this new listed folder. If you hit Return - then a file in this new folder will be renamed to the name of a file from a previous folder.

I think it's a high priority bug, since I had to stop using Filezilla completely.

I would like better control of the grouping of users, for instance I would like to create a group with all its attribs and just drag-n-drop users in to it, making the gropus attributes apply to those users.

And the account GUI should get easier, its not very straight forward when compared to other FTP servers.

In short I would like more control over the user accounts.

I'm trying to connect a Canon 1D Mk III camera using a WFTE2a wireless file transmitter to my PC on Windows 7, Filezilla Server ver 0.9.37

I've set up a user and in 'Account Settings' I have the 'Password' box ticked (wont let me have a blank password).

Each time I change the password and click OK then go back into Account Settings the password has changes to a 32 digit password (I didn't set this password)

When I try and connect through the camera I get error 45 which suggests its a User Name or Password Error. As I don't know what the 32 digit password is and I can't replace it I'm getting no where.

When target file exists, "Overwrite if source newer" is an excellent option, but its usefulness is degraded by time differences between server & client machines. Consider I'm on in EST and FTP Server is on PST, and I upload a file to Server at 5:00. Server accepts file and timestamps it as 2:00 (its local time). Now if I upload file again, FileZilla Client sees file as newer, always uploading the file even if there were no changes. Worse is if I'm PST and server is EST. I upload file at 2:00, server timestamps it as 5:00. Then if I soon change the file and re-upload my files (2:02) with this option, Client will not see this file as newer so it's not uploaded.

Client should account for local time differences between client and server machines, and it can do so automagically as follows. The first time during a session that this option is used, Client can upload a dummy file to the server, collect its timestamp from the server (getting the server's local time), then delete the file. It saves a "time skew" for the session, which is local time minus server time. Then when comparing dates for the "if newer" option, it adds the time skew to the dates for file on the server, to get the files' timestamps in local time.

In fact, you may even do this at the beginning of any session so that the Remove site files' Last modified dates are shown in local time.

In summary, Account option should be reactivated with SFTP because some hosts use it, like sourceforge.net

In user management dialog, inside the "Page" field, there should be a "Statistics" page, where some statistics such as Nubmer of logins and total data transferred (and others :) will be logged.

Also the tree view of local and remote is integrated into one list itself in AceFTP, which in FileZilla takes two panes and bit buggy.

The disconnect connection option could have added in toolbar as in AceFTP for faster access.

Also, multiple connection option is lacking in FileZilla.

I have FileZilla 3.0.5.2, and I chose for it to shutdown on queue completion (right-click in the queue, action after queue completion, shutdown system), and when the queue completes successfully a box appears saying "system will soon shutdown unless" and a progress bar, which increases. There's a skip and a cancel button. If I leave it for the progress bar to reach the end, the window disappears, but the system does not shut down. No messages are listed in the status box at the top of the window regarding this error (where the connection and transfer messages go -- is that the only place to get this log?). If I try again, and choose "skip" instead, still nothing happens, but the progress bar window goes away. If there's any more information you need from me, please let me know. I'm using Windows XP SP2.

I would like to have the ability to run a nominated script or process on download with the ability to Auto scanning or CRON for updates.

I'm going to use filezilla on a windows 2000 domain with ssl. I currently maintain all my users in the windows active directory. It would be nice if filezilla server was able to authenticate users against the active directory instead of only from the filezilla user list.

Is it possible to add the feature of selecting AD users for accounts? Thanks.

Steps to reproduce

1. Upload a large file (I tried a 1 TiB file) to a proftpd server with "slow" disks using default settings in active mode.
2. Once all disk caches on the server are filled (which happened always somewhere around 12 GiB) and the server has to sync the data to disk, it'll set the TCP Window Size to 0 while the data is written and synced.
3. After that, it'll increase the window size again to continue the transfer.

Expected behavior

FileZilla should consider this an active connection (as long as the tcp window size probes are still ACked ofc), report a 0 byte/s current transfer speed, and continue normally once the window size has been increased again.

Current behavior

FileZilla terminates the file transfer with the reason "connection timed out", probably because of oversight within the timeout logic. It probably only checks for 0 bytes/s transferred instead of also checking if the TCP connection is still alive and only set to a window size of 0. Funnily FileZilla tries to restart the connection but then fails because the temporary ".in.*" file still exists (A 2nd bug, or do we hit some kind of edge case here?) Also noteworthy, the retry setting was set to 5, but FileZilla did only one automatic retry and then failed the transfer. Also, the 10-second delay between retries was not honored here, as the retry happened instantly after the reset was sent to the server. And also noteworthy is that FileZilla will delete the partial upload from the server once it failed the transfer...

Workaround

Go into the options and set the timeout to 0.

But this has still undesirable side effects like no timeouts are detected anymore and the transfer will therefore get stuck completely once an actual timeout happens.

(Admittedly, another workaround is to set the delay kinda high to 5 minutes or so, but even though it would work for this connection, it'll unnecessarily slow down other transfers to different servers and also not correctly detect the connection state. It'd only work if the server manages to sync and accept data again within 5 minutes.)

Proposed fix

1st Add a TCP connection state check into the timeout detection logic (not a timeout if still packages are exchanged, see screenshot for example connection) 2nd And (maybe) add an additional option within the connection timeout section for backward compatibility like "☑️ treat a Zero TCP Window Size as timed out" with a default value of being unchecked (Enabling this option will result in the current behavior again). 3rd (purely visual), fix the connection speed that is shown in the UI, currently it never shows 0, not even if "Display momentary transfer speed instead of average speed" is enabled. 4th If the reconnect logic triggers a reset of an active file transfer, it should expect the temporary ".in.*" file already be present and automatically resume it instead of failing the transfer because it already exists. (My default file exists action is set to "Ask for action" btw, but it also didn't ask, it just failed the (unnecessarily triggered) retry) 5th honor the reconnect settings also for automatic reconnects (amount and delay in-between).

The GUI shows the active mode been set with the correct external IP address but still teh server replies with the internal ip address (LAN IP) of the client and says cannot establish connection. On checking through a Packet Sniffer it can be seen that filezilla is actually sending the LAN IP altough in the console/log/gui it shows its sending the external IP.

It would be excellent if FileZilla Client would connect in active mode via UPNP Internet gateway device

In Filezilla 3.5.3, specify active ftp and no fallback, and a socks5 proxy. Connect to a ftp server, this is done correctly over the socks proxy. Download something, and observe that a *passive* data connection is created over the socks proxy instead of an active one.

According to the FTP specification (RFC0959), in active FTP mode, the data connection should be made from port L-1, where L is the port that the server is listening for control connections (see section 3.2 Establishing Data Connections, paragraph 1). This should be true for every active mode transfer.

FileZilla Server attempts to bind the outgoing port as per specification, but fails to do this when another active mode data connection exists. The second connection will get port L+1, and if a third connection is opened, then it will get an arbitrary OS-assigned port.

Versions:

• OS: any Windows version (tested on Windows XP SP1, SP2)
• Server: FileZilla Server, all versions (tested on

0.9.4, 0.9.8a, 0.9.19)

• Client: any FTP client (tested on Windows ftp.exe)

To reproduce:

• Open two concurrent connections from the same client

host to the same server host.

• Start downloading a large file in each connection.
• While the files are being downloaded, run "netstat -a

-n" on the client host.

Expected behavior:

• There are two control connections to server host,

port 21.

• There are two data connections from server host, port 20.

Observed behavior:

• There are two control connections to server host,

port 21.

• There is one data connection from server host, port 20.
• There is another data connection from server host,

unspecified port.

Cause:

• By default, the bind() function fails if the

requested local port is already used by another socket.

• To reuse the port, it is necessary to issue a

setsockopt(socket, SOL_SOCKET, SO_REUSEADDR, ...) call, passing TRUE as the option value, before binding the socket.

It would be nice if the passive switch were moved from the settings menu to individual servers in the site manager list. Some servers require an active connection and some require a passive connection.

As Filezilla Server is for Windows, I think it would be great to be able to use the Windows Domain (which in most cases will be the localhost) for user authentication. Rights management can be obtained via ntfs permissions. So it's not necessary to manage several accounts, their passwords and permissions.

The red/green activity indicator lights in the lower right corner of v3.2.2.1 don't activate when receiving or sending data. I've tested this w/ a regular FTP server and FTP over SSH. The lights remain dim regardless of whether I'm uploading or downloading data.

These leds shows moved, the red led shows partially out of screen when the window is maximized.

Appears to be similar to #4291. It does appear to be intermittent.

Please add "Bypass proxy" on/off button on the toolbar to quickly switch enable/disable generic proxy to ftp connections without waste time for open settings dialog every time foreach host.

Missing the option to add "Computer" as a new directory in Shared Folders.

"Edit" -> "Users" -> "Shared Folders" -> "Add".

When in "Browse for Folder" window and choose "Computer" the "OK" option is greyed out.

Please bring back the "Default site" option to the Site Manager. This option allows a particular site to be selected automatically upon opening the Site Manager. This feature was in FileZilla 2.x. For more info, see 1792193.

Every time after editing a file with my default editor and saving the file, it asks me over and over again upload the file back to server or not. I think it's rather unpleasant. Why not add one checkbox, which when checked automatically uploads the file without asking anything?

I would like to be able to create a shortcut to FileZilla that launches an FTP to an address specified within the shortcut.

FileZilla already does this partially, however I need to have the user enter their username and password every time. I cannot store the username in the shortcut and I cannot save usernames/passwords in the site manager.

So in the shortcut I would like to have something like this as the command:

"c:\program files\FileZilla FTP Client\FileZilla.exe" address -f

Where "address" is the address of the ftp server that I put into the shortcut and "-f" or some other switch tells FileZilla to prompt for the username and password before connecting to the server.

This would allow me to deploy a shortcut to all the machines that I use that will connect for any user to a given FTP server, but it will prompt them for their information upon the initial connect each time.

It would be really usefull to be able to just add the current local and remote directories you are browsing, to the default directory locations found in Site Manager/Advanced under the headings "Default local directory" and "Default remote directory".

Currently you need to close Site Manager (SM), and go and copy your current location, come back into SM/Advanced and paste it into the relevant fields. You need to do this twice, once for the local and once for the remote locations.

If there where a button within SM/Advanced saying "Use Current Directories", which would then populate both the local and remote location fields respectively, this would cool.

WS FTP has such a feature.

Copying an ftp url is not as useful (to as many) as copying an http url for the file. Having to edit the copy is a pita.

I think it would help bug reporting if the "About" dialog box had a "copy version info" button which simply copied all relevant version information to the clipboard, to be pasted into a bug report. This could then even contain the OS and Version used, Compilation date etc. and not just the FileZilla version number in question. Basically, it could include any info you'd need for debugging that's accessible to you at runtime.
