I love the new feature of putting the message log as a tab along with the transfer tabs, however I think the message log tab should be selected by default when there are no active or queued transfers. At the least, I think it should be able to be active when you open the program. Perhaps if you could re-arrange the tabs, you could accomplish the message log being first when you start up.

I just installed Filezilla client 3.2.3.1.

I installed no additional icons, no language files, shell extension activated, desktop icon activated.

Whenever I drag and drop any file from a remote folder into my Desktop it shows this error:

"Could not determine the target of the Drag&Drop operation. Either the shell extension is not installed properly or you didn't drop the files into an Explorer window."

And then it creates an empty folder called "fz3-12385240204210". The folder name varies.

Both options are wrong, I did install the shell extension and I'm dropping the files into the Desktop which is an Explorer window. I also tried to drop the files into another folder and it didn't work.

hi, I searched the trac but couldn't find a suggestion for this already in there. how about a feature to skip files and/or folders of a given name?

I regularly ftp a folder up to a server; that folder is populated by cvs on my local machine, so there's CVS files scattered throughout my project's folders. i'd rather those files not end up in my public web space, but right now I can't filter them out when I drag over a stack of folders.

(similar needs for people who use svn and have .svn files in their project folders)

This is a usability feature request. I'm trying to do a quick connect to a sftp server and it errors out because its a sftp server. Quick Connect should use its protocol detection to make life easier for people! If sftp is detected it should automatically try and connect via SFTP. Easy is good! Thats my only argument.

This is the message i get if i try and quick connect to a sftp server: Error: Cannot establish FTP connection to an SFTP server. Please select proper protocol. Error: Critical error Error: Could not connect to server

In the local window, if you select multiple files and right click then the "View/Edit" option is grayed out, In the remote window, if you select multiple files and right click where the View/Edit option is NOT grayed out, it produces system error sound, and the edit doesnt happen.

When more than one file is dragged from the local site to the remote site and uploads are started immediately, the "Queued files" tab only shows that 2 files are being transferred (as seen by the progress bar and elapsed time) even though more than 2 files are actually being transferred. My test used 5 files at one time. Monitoring the server, I can see that all 5 are being moved at the same time and not just 2.

Upon launching my previous version of the FileZilla client today, I received a message to download an updated version. I did this, and then proceeded to install it. However, upon initializing the installation, my Windows screen resolution was altered from 1280*1024 to 1024*768. Also, instead of the desktop background I previously had, I now have a black background. I am unable to successfully revert my resolution back to 1280*1024 as well (have not attempted a reset at this point).

It would be great to have a 'refresh' button in the menu of the server.

After update from FileZilla 3.2.3 to FileZilla 3.2.3.1 there are some connections who don't work anymore, downgrading to 3.2.3 again doesn't make a difference anymore it's also bad... The version before 3.2.3 also had the same problem. So the upgrade to 3.2.3 was very welcome cause I really need the not connected sites... Gives the errors Connection lost ; Can not connect to server. A little second notification of me is that you used new icon's in 3.2.3, they are changed into the old ones if updating to 3.2.3.1

I connect to a SFTP server where I have to use a secureID to generate a unique password. I create a site profile in Site Manager. I set "Servertype" to "SFTP-SSH File Transfer Protocol" and logon type to "Ask for Password." I put in my username and leave the password field blank.

When I log into the SFTP server, FileZilla asks for my password. I put in my secureID-generated password and choose "Remember my password for this session." Once I'm logged in, I try to upload a file, and FileZilla says, "Authentication Failed, Critical Error, Could Not Connect to Server" and asks me for a password again. I have to put in a new secureID-generated password to continue. I have to do this every time I upload, which does not make sense. I have tried other FTP clients and they remember the password for the session.

Please investigate this.

It would be nice to have right click -> create new file side by side with the create new folder feature. The create new file should just make an empty text file with a generic name.

Right now whenever I need to make a new file I have to do it on windows, then drag it to upload it then change its filename etc etc and then opening it to write my code...

To repeat:

1. Ensure the local directory tree is visible
2. Enter a UNC path into the "local site" text box
3. Press Tab

This gives focus to the local directory control, which changes the local site back to the selected item in the tree clearing the UNC path. This is annoying for both keyboard navigation and for changing to a subfolder of the UNC path.

Ideally, the local directory tree should include the "Network" folder that appears in explorer and the UNC path you entered should appear within it so you can use this control to navigate to subfolders.

If this isn't feasible, merely giving this control focus without changing the selected item shouldn't change the "local site" folder.

Have had issues trying to transfer .mp4 video files via ftp to a server using filezilla client version 3.2.3.1. File transfer would fail at aprox 30 mb. Resume would fail to work. This has happened four times with that version.

I've since reverted back to version 3.1.5.1. This version, the binary transfer works as it should. The transfer isn't failing and resume is working as it should.

With the latest version 3.2.3.1 I found an issue with specifically uploading to Limelight networks. llnw.net (must have an account with them.)

Uploading files found that the speed of upload would slow down to 1k after an initial burst. A 5mb file will upload approx 200k and then slow down to as low as 1k per second. I let the 5mb file upload and it took over 45 minutes to finish. I am on a dedicated T1 and testing the speed I show 1.15Mb/s download and 1.00Mb/s upload speed.

I tried from multiple connection locations and different service providers with the same result.

I checked with Limelight for issues on their end and found nothing. Initially 4/3/09 thinking that it may be net related I waiting till today to test again with the same result 4/6/09.

The tracert to the server showed no significant slow down.

Finally I tried a different FTP client and had no issues with the alternate cleint.

When editing a local file in C:\folder1\folder11 and, afterwards, asking to edit another local file with the same name in C:\folder1\folder12, the FileZilla client still tries to open the file in the first folder. It shows this warning: "A file with this name is already being edited. Do you want to open again C:\folder1\folder12\filename.htm?" Even asking to open this file, FileZilla opens the file from the wrong (folder11) folder.

The unix file system that our FTP server runs on allows for some very terribly named files.

Although some FTP programs allow these names, FileZilla seems to have an issue with some.

I fully understand that this is a terrible file name. However, some programs are able to handle it. So I ask, why can't FileZilla? It's way better than anything else!

Removing a folder fails if it was not created by a FileZilla Client and matches the following cases:

• this folder has a file ".DS_store" (Mac) in it (cannot remove file as well)
  
• this folder has a comma (,) in its name (in my case, it was created by a php script, I cannot open or rename the folder as well)
  
• this folder/file has some backslashes (\) in its name (also created by php; however, I was able to rename the folder and afterwards I could remove it)
  

For all cases, it fails "No such file or directory". I reproduced this bug (especially the first case) several times.

However, I can delete the folders by a webbased system having the same user/group-rights as FileZilla had.

Perhaps there are some more problems if the folder/file name is not binary and was created by some other ftp client? I think the problem could be the charcater code?

The Use synchronized browsing checkbox doesn't appear to be bound to anything. Synchronized browsing works appropriately for new bookmarks by setting it in the dialog, but changing it for existing bookmarks doesn't seem to have an effect, and it always appears unchecked even if the bookmark was created with it and it works. I'm using v3.2.3.1 of the win32 zip package from SourceForge.

First, the problem does seem to occur randomly, but often since the version 0.9.26 or so. I'm using the version 0.9.31. The server gets the connection attempt by the client, seems to reply correctly, until the client requests the filelist. The client never receives the list, and a timeout is the consequence.

The problem doesn't occur every time, and it doesn't seem to be about specific files, as the files change, with which the problem happens. It also doesn't seem to be related to specific FTP clients, as we tried it with several, including the FileZilla Client. Sometimes it works quite well, so I suppose it has nothing to do with my personal firewall on my computer, or the NAT/firewall of my router (port 21 TCP is configured, and as I said, sometimes it works really well). In earlier versions this problem never occured, but I don't know the exact version with which I the issue began.

In addition to Shutdown or Reboot system upon queue completion, could you please add Hibernate? My laptop is old and slow and I hate leaving it running all night but I also hate waiting for it to boot, so I would like it to Hibernate when my transfers are done.

When I use the "Checkfor updates.." function on the "Help" menu on the FileZilla Client v 3.2.2.1 (it was the same with the previous versions) the progress bar and the text below, runs off the right edge off the window. The the blue progress indicator works as expected for some time but it then hits the right edge. The text below indicates that the download is still going on. It seems that the progress bar and the text below is out of scale by a factor of 2. It needs to be reduced to half of its current width.

Maybe it's fixed in newer versions?

More important in Windows environments: The directory where the sitemanager.xml file is stored is not a setting we can change (it is %APPDATA%/FileZilla ).

We want to be able to configure in Filezilla an other directory (in our case a directory in a truecrypt disc) so that if laptops get stollen no information about the ftp servers we connect to gets compromised. (in the same sense that we can tell where a profile is stored in firefox or thunderbird at the moment).

The remote site directory view continues to show deleted directories, even after selecting the 'View/Refresh' menu item.

Work around: The remote site directory view correctly does not show deleted directories after exiting and restarting the application.

when moving a folder the client transfers the contents of the folder in reversed order.. I have, with no luck, searched the settings trying to figure out if I had some way of fixing it, but sadly not..

I consider this to be a bug, since any normal client would take the files in the folder by alphabet.

FileZilla Server service use "Local System" to run.

Although it is possible to change it to a restricted user account manually, it will be more convenient and secure if FileZilla Server installer do this automatically

In SFTP mode, FZ uses the modification time of the user's .bash_history to detect the server's timezone.

I had the issue that on several servers, the .bash_history file was not updated since months (sftp only account). More precisely before the switch to summer time.

FZ was showing all files modified 1 hour later than real.

WORKAROUND: Login at least once on the server, this will update .bash_history. Fixed. Probably until the next time switch in October.

Hello, FileZilla Team (I'm from Switzerland, so my english may be bad) If I connect with FileZila to 213.251.167.117:21 (public server) He gives me a List of four Directories, I can only access the Directory named "1" with clicking on it, my network capture toool told me, that the inaccessible Dirs contain some spaces at the Beginning or the end of the name (and one subdirectory is only named with a space, but by entering / / into the ), by entering the name manually I can access the Directory and the Files in it. As an attachment, I give you the result from my network capturing tool, in the Window you can see the Hex and ASCII output, on the Bottom, again, ASCII (but with line breaks like in Notepad) Hope this Information helps to solve this issue

I am uploading files with double click. Double click action for directories is "Enter directory" (which is natural), so if I want to upload directory, I must right click on it and choose Upload (or drag-drop it). It will be handy to be able to middle click on it, to upload it.

You click and drag an object onto a folder (i.e. an image from your server to your desktop onto the folder titled "Pictures"), and if you hold that object over the folder for a specific amount of time (maybe a setting for the timer?), it will automatically open the folder, so you can drop the image there, or drop it into a sub-folder.

I have the fileZilla server(0.9.29 beta) and client(3.2.3.1) and I connected, but I was not able upload/download or list the directory.

The fileZilla server(0.9.29 beta) is on win 2003 sr2.

This may be several feature requests, but it is all related, so let's start with one ticket. If the reviewing authority deems it necessary to file separate tickets, I will happily comply.

I would like to see directory comparison and synchronized browsing combined into a routine which, upon invocation, would programmatically and thoroughly browse parallel directory structures on the local and remote sites compiling a list of differences for the entire structure. Direct comparison of directory dates would be abandoned, as directory dates are not preserved through FTP and the results can be misleading. Instead, highlighting of directories would be based upon comparison of the contents of the directories. Furthermore, directory highlighting would be carried up the directory structure, so that differences deep within the structure would be indicated to the user browsing at higher levels.

In conjunction with this feature, the existing directory listing filters could be extended to the recursive comparison routine, such that the user could customize the actions of the recursive comparison to ignore certain file types, directory names, etc., as the user sees fit. Theoretically, the current filter system could serve this purpose as any matches to the filters would be ignored. However, I would prefer to be able to choose to still view files and folders which I deem unnecessary to compare. To this end, the "Edit Filters" dialog could have the option associated with each filter to apply that filter only to comparison, or to both comparison and viewing (application to viewing but not comparison being pointless.)

Finally, the settings of all of these features could be saved on a per-site basis through the site manager, such that the user could assign custom filter sets to each site and automatically invoke these filter sets and/or recursive comparison upon connection to the site.

Currently in order to get a unc path saved for a user's home directory I have to:

1. create/save user with generic/normal path
2. shutdown filezilla server service
3. change filezilla server.xml in notepad (alter home path to unc for new user) and resave
4. start service

The GUI server admin client doesn't seem to allow unc pathing, (locks up, freezes) and it would be nice if it could allow. If this is due to the GUI having to parse dir structure for the tree view, and this in turn causes issues with a unc path -- maybe as a first step add a feature with just a basic field to allow a unc path and not try to parse through it. As a sysadmin, I know my paths, and it would be nice to be able to paste one in without having to stop service and manually edit the xml.

I have a customer that has FTP servers configured to deny directory listing.

The most of the users only can PUT archives.

Currently, FileZilla closes connection after detectin that directory listing s denied.

So, I have to use the MS-DOS ftp comand line application.

I would like FileZilla to allow sending files even when directory listing can not be retrieved.

I searched google and forums, loads of people seem to be having this problem. And there seems to be no solution. This has been reported to you before by others and your response was that the issue had been fixed in the latest release. This is obviously not the case.

We have certain files (3 or 4) that will not delete from our FTP no matter how often we try to remove them. This is the error code we get:

When selecting a file from the queue and setting it's Default file exists action to rename, the new name is recognize as a existing file. To reproduce:

1. Add a file to the queue
2. Open the Default file exists action and select rename.
3. Process the queue.
4. When prompt for a new name type in a new name, say new.txt and submit it.

--> File exists dialog will popup again with a message saying the new.txt already exists.

The 'File Permissions' dialog currently displays with all boxes checked and with 'xxx' in the 'Numeric value' field.

It would be useful if the check boxes and the 'Numeric value' field reflected the values of the file being updated.

With the newest version 3.2.4 (Windows) no dotfiles (eg .htaccess) are listed on server side. I checked that I have no filter activated. I did a cross check with 3.1.5.1 (Fedora) and that works fine. I cannot retrieve dotfiles by manually typing in the command (eg retr .htaccess):

The view/edit function is great but it would be much better to add new function which will give the ability to open file in other editer as well. Like "Open with" on windows. You know there are many different kind of editor for different file formats. For example I use Dreamweaver as my default editor but sometimes there is some little changes to make with files and don't always want to start the Dreamvear, but something more simple, like notepad. This function will make this proccess much more easyer. In my opinion this would be a very useful.

In the german language version is after the upgrade to 3.2.4 the .htaccess - file not shown. But the under "server" is "force showing hidden files" activated.

Several issues with using Filezilla using SSH Tectia on the mainframe side.

The edit function on mainframe files does not discern carriage control line feed characters. The directory listings on mainframe files are not available if you list by high level qualifier.

I would love to have the ability to FTP from one remote server to another remote server bypassing my local machine.

This is a feature request. I searched but could not find this request.

I was uploding this HUGE video (650 mb atleast) to my site, so somone else could download and edit it. I was also uplaoding some other small stuff. I decided I wanted to cancel it, but the other stuff (a whole folder with about 50 files) was the wrong thing. so I started rightclick>cancel right click>cancel etc. I moved my hand just a Little too far just one time, and lost everything. I had accidently clicked the cancel all button. I am unnterly fuming with rage inside right now, the upload was well over 60%, it has been going for several hours, and I don't want to use up all the servers bandwidth just uploading one movie.

could you add a feature where if you hit sopt all remove all it will ask you FIRST, so this will not happen by accident anymore?

On the about dialog there is a button for copying the displayed information to the clipboard. I have pasted the result below and as you can see the "Compiled for" and "Compiled on" entries have the same data. A screenshot of the dialog is also attached which seems to show to the correct data.

The remote site list window is only showing the first two folders that are available on the FTP site. I can get to the other folders if I type them in the text box but they are not available to select. Looking at the ftp site thru the windows FTP program shows all of the available folders.

In the image, it shows the popup for the directory comparison feature.

Yellow and Green both seem to function OK, although Green is a bit pointless, as the file that was transferred will always be reported as 'newer' than the original.

More importantly, the filesize difference, which is the far more critical indication (of an incomplete upload, for example), does not seem to show at all.

In the screenshot, note the file highlighted on the left. There is a size discrepancy between it and the corresponding file on the right, but there is no indication of this on the screen.

I did an upload the other day where I sent several hundred large files, and there were a number of them that uploaded incompletely. Was very time consuming to go through them item by item to spot the ones that were not complete.

Version of FileZilla is 3.2.4. I found the bug on an older version, and downloaded the latest one to see if it still exists, and it does.

During an upload (or download?), mostly on quick 1 file uploads), you are allowed to navigate the local file tree. When the upload is completed, the selected directory is updated on the ftp server side, but the local side does not update and remains. causing you to have to selected a different directory, then going to the one you wanted.

I am not sure if this is a synchronized issue, or a file-zilla bug, because the remote side does update correctly.

Filezilla is overall the best FTP client I used, but one feature is a bit awkward to use: the way the priority of the files in the queue is handled.

Using a separate attribute for priority is confusing. It's not always obvious which files are going to be processed first. For example, when you add files to the queue, they can get a higher priority than the ones already there, and the current download won't finish until the new added files are completed.

It's also cumbersome to chose a given priority, and then try to visually check if you got it right.

A much much better way to handle priority is that the first file on the queue is always processed first, and to add menu commands to move items up, down, top and bottom. It's simple, WISIWIG, and you just can't be wrong.

File transfer should default to ASCII for MD5 files. Set as default in file types settings.

Example: If you create a MD5 file on Windows and upload it to a *nix server, then this will lead to MD5SUM being unable to read the file.

I have for some while been using Version 2.2.14b. In this version whenever I edited a local site file Fz automatically updated the file's last modified date displayed (LMD).

I've just updated to Version 3.2.4 and this no longer happens. The LMD display remains unchanged.

I've checked fixed bugs and settings, but cannot see anything that might affected this.

In FileZilla Client, there is an option:

Settings -> Connection -> Reconnection settings -> Delay between failed login attempts

When I connect to the FTP server this option is effective for the control connection. However after the connection established and file is being downloaded, this option seems to be ignored for the data connections.

If the server activated anti-hammering protection and limited the maximum number of simultaneous logins I will immediately being banned.

FileZilla version tried: ANY version, even the latest 3.2.4 (as of 27th APR 2009)

I've been happily using Filezilla for over a year now with no problems. Just an hour or so ago 4/27/09 I downloaded the latest update you sent. Now nothing shows up in the directory listing. It is connecting just fine, but no directory listing, even though the message says directory listing successful. I've changed nothing but downloading the new update. Any suggestions?

I found a bug in FileZilla client 3.2.4.

I connect via SFTP to my university server. This server is a linux system and I access this server with Samba at Windows XP.

When I create directories with special chars (e.g. German Umlaute ÄÖÜß), then Windows can read the directory names correctly, but Linux reads the name wrong because it is not decoding the UTF 8. So "Übungsblatt 1.pdf" is actually "ܜbungsblatt 1.pdf". But that's not the problem.

The problem is, that if I have a directory which is named e.g. "Übung 1" (this is the linux-filesystem name!), then I cannot download something from this directory. Some file actions like rename or uploading are working, some file actions doesn't work. Probably, FileZilla can only handle ASCII directory names.

When the option 'Force showing hidden files' (which should be in the View menu btw) is turned off, FileZilla will overwrite hidden files on the server without asking for a confirmation, even when confirmations are set to 'Ask for Action'. If I turn on the option 'Force showing hidden files' FileZilla behaves as expected.

I feel this behaviour is undesirable. Even though the hidden file cannot be seen in the file list, doesn't mean it should be overwritten if it exists.

Hi folks, It would be cool if it would be possible to have an option FIND (F3 - find next) to find a text within a file in the server. If it isn't possible, maybe in the local site.

Recently upgraded to Filezilla version 3.2.4.1

Now, when I try to access a directory where the name contains spaces, the following error is reported Response: 550 The system cannot find the file specified. Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

The program will successfully access any folder with no spaces in the folder name. Previous version did not have this bug.

Situation #1: Multiple user accounts with multiple passwords. Want to change the passwords slightly.

What happens: If the same password is kept but the case changes on the letters - the server does not seem to update the password. (So abcd1234 -> ABCD1234 does not seem to change.) Instead, I have to change it to something like "a" and then change it back to "1234abcd".

Situation #2: If I change the password for someone but keep the same length, the password doesn't change on the server.

What happens: If I have abcd1234 and I change it to 1234abcd - it does not change. (Fix - same as above.)

Situation #3: If I remove the server from a system and then later on re-install it, the old settings are retained. However, they are not shown (ie: There are no accounts shown). If I try to recreate the accounts the server will sometimes say "That account already exists" even though it is not there - or - the account will have the old password.

Possible Solution: Since I'm not one of the people who are working on this project but since I do debug lots of programs; my best guess is that the server is not actually deleting the account information either when it is uninstalled or when the administrator says to delete the accounts. (I know - kind of obvious! :-) )

Anyway, just upgraded to the latest release earlier this week. (0.9.30).

Almost forgot: When the "X" is clicked on (Windows OS version) this kills the server. Could there be an option to not kill the server and instead just close the dialog? Can't tell you how many times I've accidentally clicked the "X" instead of the "-". :-)

I cannot authenticate to my SFTP server with the usename and password in my connection profile when I have a keyfile loaded.

WebDAV is becoming popular in these days. But most WebDAV client software are not robust. In contrast, FileZilla is a very strong FTP client. If it support WebDAV, it will be even stronger. By the way, FileZilla support many kind of protocol besides the traditional FTP. Therefore, why not support WebDAV as well (since the function of it is very similar)?

The summary status on number of selected files / bytes is wrong (too many files) if multiple files are selected using CTRL, SHIFT+CTRL keys. once wrong, the status stays wrong until a single files is selected. Also the sum of file sizes is wrong. It looks like a file is calculated in two times if it was selected using CTRL+left mbutton if CTRL+SHIFT+left mbutton is pressed to extend the selection. The wrong behaviour exists both for local and remote file selections.

Example / how to reproduce:

• Open a folder with 8 files of 1024 bytes each (just as an example).
• Select the 1st file (left mouse button). The summary shows "1 file selected. Total size: 1.024 Bytes" [correct]
• Select the 3rd file (CTRL + left m.button). The summary shows "2 file selected. Total size: 2.048 Bytes" [correct]
• Extend the selection to include files 4+5, by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+l.m.button. There are 4 files selected. Summary shows "5 files selected. Total size: 5.120 Bytes" [WRONG !]

Additional info: The problem always starts when you use CTRL+SHIFT+MOUSE. e.g. select single file 1, CTRL+SHIFT+click file 5 shows "6 files selected", although only 5 are selected. if I continue to CTRL+SHIFT+LMB click alternating on file 1 and file 5 there are still only 5 files selected, but status grows by +5 files (and their size) everytime I do this.

I would like to request the feature of copying a folder from one directory and pasting to another directory on the web server.

I was surprised when this feature did not exist today. Delete and rename is possible but not copying and pasting. I had to copy one uploaded folder to three other directories. I uploaded once and then discovered I could not copy and paste.

If this functionality could be added I would be greatly appreciative.

All in all I find FileZilla to be a very solid product and I am very appreciative of all the work that goes into making it such a great tool.

The newly uploaded files are put at the bottom of the list of files, not up at the top. Clicking on the column to sort doesn't help. Very disorienting. This used to work fine.

I am often given URLs like so:

It would be very helpful if these URLs could be pasted into the client and a connection established on that, rather than having to manually copy the server, then the username, etc.

I opened a connection to download 2 files. While the 2nd (long file) was downloading the status indicator was wrong.

The most recent status message being "Disconnected from server". That could not be right because the file transfer indicator showed the file was downloading and eventually the file did fully download.

I am using WinXP sp3 with all Microsoft patches and the most recent Filezilla (v 3.4.2.1)

Using Windows XP SP3. Filezilla Server installed as a service. Software error occurs when terminating Filezilla or when shutting down the computer. No error when shut down, and is installed as an application.

I need to automate backups to a remote server. I am using the SSL/TLS support which will not allow me to use the regular command prompt. What command client do you recommend to use with FileZilla Server that connects through FTPS and accepts certificates automatically from the server.

When uploading files that is like above 300 kb in filesize, Cisco VPN times out.. This goes for the other employees at the office (and also when we're out of the office) ...

But it's only the filezilla client we got the problem with, so therefore this bug report.. Other ftp clients works just fine (we just like your work better - if it wasnt for this problem :) )

Our FTP server is on a local network, so when I FTP files there, they go really fast, not sure if that's the cause of the problem.

Basically every time I drag-drop a file to FileZilla to upload to the FTP server, it asks me 3 times if I want to overwrite the existing file. The first time it actually displays the old file size and the new, but after that I'm overwriting identical files twice.

This is very annoying just having to click the ok button multiple times, but even worse when moving multiple files, I can't tell if all were moved successfully because I keep getting a bunch that say failed and that are getting moved multiple times, so the counts are off, and they aren't actually failing.

For the last week or so, each time I try to log in it tells me that it can't connnect to the server. I type in my host, username, and password, click quickconnect and then this comes up in the log... and pretty quickly:

I updated my filezilla version to the current one and it still did this, so I tried deleting filezilla from my computer and then re-added it but it still keeps happening. Any help you could give me would be very much appreciated.

I have 2820 jpg and gif image files in a directory and one subdirectory, but only 1997 files show in filezilla (and the directory).

It seems that the client is trying to resume the transfer from the total bytes of file on server, not on the client.

Server is proftpd and can resume files (other clients working) Connection is ftpes (AUTH TLS) Filezilla 3.2.4.1 on Vista_x64

it should use a command like REST 2147473408 (2gb), not REST 12025908427 (this is the total bytes of the file)

After transferring files from wordpress version 2.6.3 to my host on May 6th at around 7:30 CST, the transfer jumbled the name of my blog. The correct name, which I double checked is entered correctly, should be tiatipsonantiaging.com. After the file transfer it came out tiatiaposantiaging.com

=gnutls-2.7.0 no longer defines the macro AM_PATH_LIBGNUTLS or distributes gnutls-config that filezilla uses to identify version (via libgnutls.m4).

pkg-config is the replacement that has been distributed by gnutls at least in version 2.2.5.

I'll attach a patch to use PKG_CHECK_MODULES instead, tested with gnutls-2.7.8 and gnutls-2.6.6, please review

The new Filezilla client does not list symbolic link that are on the sftp server.I am using surge fpt as server. I have a symbolic link in my home dir that is called sftp_data and i cannot see that link with the latest client and with a old client i can see it.

The only dir that i see with latest client is .ssh

In previous versions, when I incorrectly entered my password, it would stop and give me the chance to fill it in again. Now, it keeps resubmitting my incorrect password and I have to shut it down and restart it in order to make the correction. I am running 3.2.4.1

Navigation bars are not showing up on webpage. I am using internet explorer 8 to view and none of the navigation bars are there. I am using microsoft publisher 2007 to create webpages and Aplus.net as my server.

I guess i should have mentioned that the navigation bars were being transfered to server and on webpages until i updated filezilla. Now they're not there. but i guess I'll have to find some other assistance. Thanks for nothing.

clicking on any of the buttons has no effect. Only button that works is the "Open Site Manager" button. But even this one, not when clicked directly, only when clicking on one of the items in the dropdown list.

I have Filezilla FTP server installed on a computer and I'm using Filezilla FTP client to connect to it.

After a while, the FTP server disconnects the client and if I then try to drag a folder with question mark on it to the other side (local folders) the command is simply ignored, nothing happens. So no adding to queue, no reconnect, nothing.

I can also reproduce it by using the "Kick user" command in the FTP server and then trying to drag an uncached folder (the one with ? on it) to a drive. With logging set to 4-Debug the only stuff shown on the message section is:

I'd like to request a Pause/Resume function as in FileZilla 2

Is it possible to implement a rightclick => pause/resume function, both for individual files and for queues?

since install of newest version file uploads name only and then asks if you want to overwrite , I click yes and the same pop up asks the same question. File never gets uploaded but the file name does. I am uploading pictures in gif and jpg. I tried to change permissions on folder but that did not change anything. All other versions have worked great up till now. Great work thanks

After I copy files from a ftp site that begin with a . (period) when trying to open the file in my application it treats it as it is being used by someone else on a network. I copy the same file with a different ftp utility I do not have the problem.

I noticed that in the current version of FileZilla (3.2.4.1), contents of local site (folders, files) are not automatically refreshed. This feature is enabled on previous versions (2.2.32). This feature is helpful especially when I am waiting for new files coming from somewhere in the network. If this feature is enabled, I don't have to click "Refresh" button from time to time to see if there is new file ready for upload.

Shutting down dows not always work. it is frought with problems. it frequently fails on my machine because certain programs crash during shutdown.

something that *always* seems to work is hibernation (except on compaq laptops where function keys "quickkeys" are broken, there a shutdown is fine). it is also preferable in some cases.

There are a lot of times when I will have a multi-gigabyte upload in process over several days or overnight, and I want the machine to hibernate itself after the queue is done.

I don't like shutting the machine down. I have a lot of apps I like to keep running and files I like to keep open (as a developer and a multitasker).

different things for different situations. Hibernation also applies to Linux, if Filezilla ever is available for linux (or mac?).

Hi,

When uploading a group of files & subfolders to an empty folder, I got several times (not only during the same upload) the message "file exists". This is not possible as I just did a drag and drop to an empty folder. It seems that the same file could be queued several times.

If you use the online update function, it should use the global proxy settings. atm there is no way using it when sitting behind a proxy. Perhaps there sould be an option [in the update dialoge or in the global settings] to setup the behavior.
