Reported by: Per Westerberg Owned by:
Priority: normal Component: FileZilla Client
Keywords: file swedish character Cc:
Component version: Operating system type: Windows
Operating system version: Vista SP1

Description

I have a file on my desktop called ÅÄÖ.txt.
When I transfer this file to the foreign FTP site it's working OK.
I then deleted the text file on my desktop.
But when I drag the succesfully transferred file from the FTP site back to my desktop it creates an error. See log.txt for details.
I also attach the actual file with swedish characters in the file name. My version of the Filezilla Client are 3.2.3.1.
I tried the manouvre on both Vista and Windows 2000 Advanced server.

Your server is broken.

You have to either upgrade to a proper server or refrain from using non-ASCII characters. Everything else is in violation to the FTP specifications. Disobeying them makes the Elders of the Internet cry.

Read http://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Character_Set for further details.
