#3587 | "Dropping" a file on an area next to a folder | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Version 3.0.11.1, Win XP When uploading a file, I drag it from the local folder into the upload folder. If I drop it in a space in the same row as a subfolder in the remote site window, the file goes into that subfolder. I believe it should go in the current folder as putting it in the subfolder has undesirable consequences - uploading to a folder with lots of subfolders and maybe one file becomes tricky, and its easy to upload files to random subfolders without realising. |

Version 3.0.11.1 , Win XP, Fresh install. After install, I was asked for confirmation for all uploads. Once I was uploading a bunch of files, so after one confirmation, I've clicked the "always do this" action. Now it does this for all uploads - transfers without confirmation - even though I've selected in the Transfer settings "Ask for action" for both uploads and downloads. |

#3592 | initial directory passed by URL is interpreted wrong | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
URLs with the syntax "ftp://user:pasw@host/dir1/" will connect to the FTP but then try to CHDIR to "/dir1" instead only CHDIR to "dir1". This is a difference compared to IE or FireFox since it will overwrite the servers user initial user directory setting. The directory "/dir1" does not exists on the server but "/home/user/dir1" in my case. |

#3599 | FileZilla 3.0.11.1 doesn't run on OS X Tiger | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
FileZilla_3.0.11.1 doesn't load. The nightly on July 13, 08 doesn't work either. Yes, I checked to see I downloaded the Intel version since I run on a Yonah based MacBook Pro. Starting from terminal enlightens us with this, "FileZilla.app/Contents/MacOS/filezilla; exit dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libiconv.2.dylib
Trace/BPT trap logout" It looks like Tiger 10.4, my OS X version, has a dated library. I assume this version of FileZilla works with the new release of OS X 10.5, Leopard, because it's bound to have a newer version of the library. Support for Tiger should be kept (it's not terribly old!), and could easily be done by providing the library in a self-contained package. NextStep introduced this idea to OS X. Thus, packages are supposed to be distributed with dependencies self-contained, and simmilar to what PC-BSD now does with their .pbi packages. This would necessitate two packages, one for Tiger, and another for Leopard. OS: OS X 10.4 MacIntel Comp: MacBook Pro with the Yonah processor |

#3600 | Failed to parse returned path | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | fixed
Description |
FTP client fails when connecting to a FANUC robot. Before, I was using Filezilla 3.0.2.1, and everything was working great. I upgraded to 3.0.11.1 today and now it doesn't work. FANUC documentation claims support for 2.2.31. FANUC uses a default directory: "md:\". So when you log in you are not at "\", but at "md:\". Maybe this is causing the error? #3601 | Resume big files | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I use vsftpd as ftp server. Vsftpd does not have any limitation with the size of files and it permits to resume downloads of large files. I have tried KFTPGrabber and this allows me to stop/resume downloading files larger than 4GB. However, the same situation with FileZilla tells me: "The server does not allow resume files over 4 GB". This is not true! |

#3602 | Simultaneous connections | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hey all. FileZilla Version 3.0.11.1 (and before) have a little bug in the use of simultaneous connections. We're tested FileZilla with 2 simultaneous connections but he really uses 3 simultaneous connections (one too much). Same if you use 3 simultaneous connections, FileZilla try to use 4 simultaneous connections. If your server doesn't allow more than 3 simultaneous connections you get an error. Would be nice, if anyone could look for this and fix it. |

#3604 | Large Directory List - Files in wrong folders | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
Downloaded a large directory list comprising 2700 folders and 10000 files by just dragging the parent dir into the local pane. The parent folder contains about 110 alphabetically ordered sub-folders (refer to as "individual site folder"), which themselves contain other sub folders and the actual files. Unfortunately, at approx 25% into the queue filezilla has started putting the wrong files/folders in the wrong "individual site folder". I have repeated the download with the same result. I could not identify the reasons, and there appeared to be nothing special about the folders where this occurred. I did find empty files named '_vti_cnf.log' (I'm downloading from some webhosting) but these appeared even in folders that downloaded correctly. Tried setting a filter on this file then reprocessing the queue but it did not fix the download error. What's interesting is that even after the errors start appearing, some correct files will appear in the correct folders but the folder it will have, for instance a file named aboutus.htm from the previous folder. However, the errors are not confined to files that are of the same name across different folders. It is also moving uniquely named files onto the 'next' folder.

#3607 | minimized app doesn't always restore window | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
These instructions require FileZilla to already be set up to edit/view files in an editor (or such). General Behavior: When a file is saved (done editing) FileZilla will pop up a dialog box asking to send it to the server. Current Behavior: If the app/main-window is minimized, sometimes the app will display the "send to server" dialog in the upper left corner of the screen, and not restore the window when the dialog is dismissed. Sometimes it works as described below: Expected Behavior: If the window is minimized, the app should *always* bring up the application-window first, *then* show the dialog. There are no issues if the FileZilla client is already restored, just not focused (is behind other windows, etc). SYSTEM: Windows XP, SP2+ (all updates) APP VERSION: FileZilla (Client) 3.0.11.1 |

#3609 | <Not connected to any server>... while downloading? | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I'm new to running FileZilla so this maybe the way it goes. Doesn't seem intuitive to me, though, and can't find a related bug listed. Not sure if it's a build issue or not. Gateway MT6840 centrino duo lappy on a hard line from the router. Vista Home premium... can't seem to find the damn version numbers but it's been kept updated. FileZilla 3.0.11.1 updated from 3.0.11 via pop up alert. I've got files on a remote server that is running right now. 1gig file transfer started off by marking/highlighting the file on the remote location tree and identifying the location on my local drive for the destination. Right click "download" and the transfer started. I leave it to run and when I return I see only this in the remote file location window: <Not connected to any server> This is odd because the file transfer que seems to be still active and I'm 79% and counting along the way towards full download. Web browsing continues as normal indicating web connection. Not sure if this is enough info or not. I hope so. Thanks Dave |

#3611 | Cannot recover from damaged queue.xml | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
While downloading files with Filezilla, my C: harddrive got full. When I terminated Filezilla, this resulted in a incompletely saved queue.xml file (see attachment). After restoring additional space on drive C:, Filezilla was not able to recover from the damaged file. When starting Filezilla, it complaines that the file cannot be rad/parsed. When terminating Filezilla, it complains that the file cannot be read/parsed, and did not save the current queue, which was then completely lost. I had to manually delete the queue.xml to make Filezilla working again. Filezilla should be able to recover by itself. For example, it could ask the user if it should overwrite the damaged queue.xml file during save, or it could automatically overwrite it during save. At termination, I don't see why Filezilla must read the queue.xml before it is saving the queue, the content will be overwritten anyway. |

#3625 | "File Previously Open has changed" msg erroneously appearing | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
This bug just started in the latest version, 3.1.0, as it was not happening in any previous version. When right clicking on a remote file and choosing the "VIEW/EDIT" file option, the file is FTP'ed correctly to my Windows XP Pro (with all latest service packs) PC and opened in my default editor of choice, UltraEdit 14.x. Immediately and without doing anything in the editor, FileZilla starts popping up the message, "A File Previously opened has changed. {filename}. Upload this file back to the Server?" Clicking the NO button results in the message reappearing immediately. If I click YES, the file is uploaded back to the server, but the same message reappears moments later. The only way to permanently clear it is to click the FINISH EDITING AND DELETE checkbox, which is undesirable most times. Nothing with this file changed in that period of time. I have used this feature heavily with all previous versions going back one year and this never happened previously. I have to revert back to the previous version in order to use the software. If there is any other information you need, please do not hesitate to ask. Here is the verbose log: Status: Connecting to adc42-ldb.sas.its.nyu.edu... #3626 | Could not read from transfer socket: ECONNABORTED | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
FileZilla Client Version 3.1.0 Build Date 2008-07-23 OS - Windows XP Version 2002 Service Pack 2 Odd thing is the problem I am reporting worked fine with an older version of the FileZilla Version 3 Client. I just upgraded to the current build today and then encountered the error. Here are the details: Using a predefine site Manager profile, I connected to a private z/OS (IBM Mainframe) host using secured FTP (TLS). By private host, I mean no public access for logins, my company maintains high security - no outside access (sorry). Hopefully the log will be useful. I imagine that you have very few clients that access MVS/z/OS hosts so it is probably a low priority in the scheme of things. As one can see in the log, the TLS authentication worked fine. The error is encountered when the client receives back the directory listing of the default host directory. The directory list does come back to the client and looks correct in the log. #3635 | Uploaded file truncated when using FTP over SOCKS | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hi, I'm encountering an issue with Filezilla 3.1.0.1 on Windows XP.(I encounter exactly same problem with FileZilla 2.2.25 since months/years) When i try to upload files thanks to FTP using Socks proxy, some of files are truncated. If i reupload the same file just after the first upload we can see the file size difference (see screenshot). An other point is that just after upload the size of file on remote server in filezilla seems correct, but after a refresh (F5) the this is the real size (trucated file size). Original file is: http://maubeuge2008.org/testseb/pbftp/10031_ff2-good.jpg Uploaded file is: http://maubeuge2008.org/testseb/pbftp/10031_ff2.jpg It seems very similar to closed bug id #1662435. http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1662435&group_id=21558&atid=887596 Thanks & Regards |

#3646 | Directory listing does not show all hidden files. | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
The "Force showing hidden files" option does not fully work. The command for the command only uses the "LIST -a" command to show the files, but using the "LIST -al" command manually, I was able to see all the hidden files. Not being able to see all the hidden files also causes issues when needing to delete directories and the system cannot do so since there are still hidden files under the directories. |

Using Mac OS X 10.5.4 Filezilla 3.1.0.1 Connecting to a site and double-clicking on a file or folder in either the local or remote list "shifts" the view of that pane slightly left, just enough to hide the icons. Filzilla crashes every time I try to copy multiple files using OSX. I am logged into the server in active mode. I have a filter set to just show .asp pages. When I try to push all the asp pages to the ftp server it will ftp a few of the files and then crash. I tried the latest build and the latest nightly build. Both had the same problem. |

#3653 | toggle transfer queue doesn't work properly | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I'm using win xp sp2, filezilla 3.1.0.1 If I turn off queue processing then add a folder to the queue, the queue begins to process. When I then turn it off again, once a subfolder is encountered the queue again begins to process. If I turn off queue processing it should stay off until I turn it on again, this is a bug. This was also a problem with the previous version. The reason I want to turn off queue processing is so that I can remove files or directories from the queue that I don't want to be processed. Filezilla is otherwise excellent software, keep up the good work. Thanks |

#3654 | A file...has been changed: upload? no. still does! | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I am finding random files in my web directories, and I found a problem. When I download a file, open it, edit it, and hit "save", the following prompt shows up: A file previously opened has been changed: C:\Documents and Settings\FRANKF\My Documents\website\new_site\public_html\style\layoutFluid.css Upload this file to server? (There is also a check box for "continue editing" which I leave unchecked) I will click “no†and the file will uploads anyway to a random directory (not even the one that I originally downloaded the file from) The last time it happened it was in a folder called "dev" and it uploaded to a subfolder (under dev) called "downloads". The time before I downloaded and edited a file from "style" and when I clicked "no" it uploaded to "testcart" (both directories on the same level) I am using FileZilla Version 3.1.0.1 – most recent version at this time. I am using Microsoft Windows XP Professional Operating System Version 5.1.2600 This is a bit scarry, because I am not sure if any "index" files or other files that have the same name in different directories might be overwritten when this happens. |

#3656 | Could not read from transfer socket: ECONNABORTED | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
After upgrading to the latest verions of FileZilla, 3.1.0.1, previously configured connections now fail, with the following errors: Error: Could not read from transfer socket: ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing This worked as recently as build 3.0.11.1 version. We connect via servertype 'FTPS-FTP over implicit TLS/SSL', not specifying a port in the connection details. What has changed in the Filezilla version which no longer allows this connection. I'll be reverting back to an older release until we're able to resolve this issue. |

#3657 | Switching back to English language only partially successful | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Just installed 3.1.0.1. Disappointed to have my language set to Dutch automatically, I switched back to English via settings, but this is only the case for the menu and not for the names used in the file list panels and the bottom panel and the tabs used in this bottom panel. I'm always annoyed when a install program decides form me that I should use some other language than English. Although I'm Dutch I don't like the translated menus (much to long in my native language) and I always use the English versions of software on my PC. Anyway I like this soft a lot... Keep up the good work. Regards, Peter |

#3662 | Shortcuts (maybe also Sym-Links) are not handled properly | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
FileZilla version: 3.1.0.1 O/S: Windows Version 5.1 XP Pro, SP2 Double-clicking on a subdirectory contained in the Current Directory panel, or displayed in an expanded directory in the Directory-Tree panel, makes it the new current directory. So far, so good. But: A shortcut (presumably also a sym-link?) that points to a directory is not displayed when its containing directory is expanded in the Directory-Tree panel. It does appear in the Current-Directory panel, but double-clicking on it does not change-directory to the target; instead, an attempt is made to up/down-load the shortcut file itself, literally. Now, I realize sometimes it might be desirable sometimes to transfer a shortcut literally, but that decision should be at the option of the user. (1) Directory-shortcuts should appear in the Directory-Tree just like subdirectories. Double-clicking on one should change-directory to the target, just like a subdirectory. (2) Menu-clicking on a directory-shortcut in the Current-Directory panel should open a menu that includes an option to "Resolve / Follow / Go-To Target of" (wording optional) the link. (3) Edit->Settings->Interfaces should have a category-box for Directory-Shortcuts, with options to "Always Follow", "Transfer Literally" and "Ask every time" as the default. (4) If the "Always Follow" option is in effect, the detail information shown in the Current-Directory panel should be that of the Target. (5) When a directory-shortcut in the Current-Directory panel is double-clicked, or a Transfer Queue containing a directory-shortcut is processed, and the "Ask every time" option is in effect, a requestor should be raised asking whether to transfer the link literally or transfer the contents of its target. If the Queue contains more than one, the requestor should include an answer option for "All in the Queue". Similarly, when a shortcut (presumably also a sym-link?) that points to a file is double-clicked or is being processed in a Transfer Queue, it is automatically transferred literally, as a shortcut. That decision, too, should be at the option of the user. (6) Menu-clicking on a file-shortcut in the Current-Directory panel should open a menu that includes the options: "Upload Literally" and "Upload Target". (7) Edit->Settings->Transfers should have a sub-category for File-Shortcuts, with options to "Transfer Target", "Transfer Literally" and "Ask every time" as the default. (8) If the "Always Follow" option is in effect, the detail-information shown in the Current-Directory panel should be that of the Target. (9) If the "Ask every time" option is in effect, when a file-shortcut in the Current-Directory panel is double-clicked or is being processed in a Transfer Queue, a requestor should be raised asking whether to transfer the link literally or transfer its target. If the Queue contains more than one file-shortcut, the requestor should include an answer option for "All in the Queue". The difference between this and #(5) is that #(5) will process the target-directory and all the files it contains, even acting recursively for shortcuts contained within the target-directory, and this only processes a single file. Thank you for an excellent software tool, and let's keep up the good work. |

#3663 | server:port isn't parsed correctly | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Version: 3.1.0.1 OS: Windows Vista Business SP1 (x64) I used to enter example.com:1234 and it worked well in previous versions (3.0.x or something). However since I updated to 3.1.0.1, filezilla still writes the number behind the colon into the port field, but writes "[example.com:1234]" into the server field (instead of writing "example.com"). This results in a Status: Resolving address of example.com:1234 Status: Connection attempt failed with "EAI_NONAME - Neither nodename nor servname provided, or not known". Trace: CRealControlSocket::OnClose(11001) Trace: CFtpControlSocket::ResetOperation(66) Trace: CControlSocket::ResetOperation(66) Error: Could not connect to server Status: Waiting to retry... error message. |

#3664 | Increasing CPU occupancy until 99% | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Uploading a large 3GB data file, filezilla starts with nominal CPU usage. However, the CPU occupancy continually increases during file transfer. After about 5 minutes of transferring the CPU occupancy is about 80% and after approximately 10 minutes it is at 98%. Log files attached. Unfortunately, I was not able to capture the console output when it was at 98% as filezilla was no longer responding. |

#3665 | Server Does Not Enforce Login Attempt Limit with SSL | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
I have autoban enabled for 5 failed login attempts. I also "Force SSL for user login". The autoban never fires because, I assume, users attempting login get the return error stating that SSL is required and the attempt is not counted into the autoban limit. This situation results in daily logs of up to 3MB in size due to repeated brute force attempts at login. It appears as if there is a program that kiddie hax0rs all over the world have available. I add address masks to the IP Filter as attempts are made, but new kiddies keep trying. I've filtered out most of China by now. Please see the attachedf log exerpt. |

#3671 | View/Edit on remote site file causes error | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Error "DDE execute request failed: a request for a synchronous execute transaction has timed out." when I right click a file in the remote site window and select "View/Edit". Screenshot of error dialog attached. My editor is Textpad 5.2.0 32-bit on Windows XP Professional. Textpad is installed in its default location. The file still loads in textpad, I can edit it, and I can save it, and it will successfully upload the changes back to the remote site prompting appropriately whether I should replace the existing file. So the View/Edit still works fine with a minor interruption from this alert. So, in priority terms, I'd classify this as low priority with a successful workaround in place. However, it's a darn annoying error which steals focus and requires me to click Ok before proceeding to the task at hand. Do with that what you will, and good luck! |
