I created a folder called "sites", which appears way down at the bottom of the list of connections.

I am able to move connections that fit in the window to the "sites" folder, but not anything outside the window.

the only workaround I have that I can think of is to edit the filezilla.xml file when filezilla is not running.

idea: some sort of "move to" button that brings up a folder tree list would be useful, where you could click on a particular folder. it would be nice if it remembered the last folder you clicked on.

in site manager you ccan only add 1 site. then the new site and new folder buttons gray out. this is wrong. this doesn't follow the behavior of the older version, which allowed you to add many sites all at once.

I have a LOT of sites in the site manager. When I pop down the list with the down arrow, it rolls off the bottom of the screen. It needs to determine the screen dimensions and turn on a scroll bar when the list is too long to show.

It would be nice to be able to bookmark different directories on a site, so you didn't have to browse around a large server every time to get from your the login folder to one of the many different folders you always use.

example:

login folder could be the users home directory which he often needs to access, and thus have set up as default.

but same user could often be working in other directories far away in the directory structure. if he could bookmark this he could navigate the server fast and easy instead of as now slow and cumbersome.

it should be possible to save view Settings. In version 2.1.5, disabling "View->Quick Connect Bar" and "View->Message Log" does disable these items, but only for the current program session. Exiting and restarting the app resets the view to defaults again which re-enables the above items.

I just updated to version 3.0.11.1, which caused the following problem: In the local site "Filename" window, I'm no longer able to click on shortcuts. The shortcuts appear as .lnk files which cannot be opened.

This was not a problem in the previous versions of FileZilla.

Please fix because the program is basically unusable now because of this.

• try to connect. tick "remember password for this session". enter a wrong password

While using sftp through filezilla, the speed seems to be very slow. I found that the max i got from my work machine to home is 4.4KB / s and UP 6.5 KB / s.

I thought this was a little strange, so I downloaded WinSSH and used it's sftp functionality and got 100KB /s down, and 12 KB / s up.

I checked the speed limiting, and it didn't seem to be set...

I am using FileZilla 2.2.27 in WinXP Simplified Chinese edition. Currently, if I upload Chinese filenames to the sftp server or create Chinese filenames, the filenames ends up in GBK encoding on the openssh sftp server.

I hope it's possible for the sftp client in FileZilla to convert filename encoding. For example, when uploading files, convert filenames from GBK to UTF-8; and when downloading files, convert from UTF-8 to GBK.

Hello, I've googled filezila not saving port numbers and note that it does not display known default ports. I'm using 3.27.0.1 under win7. I'm trying to connect via sftp using port 22. I'm able to connect when I manually type in port 22. but if I connect with the default setting without the port 22, it does not connect at all. I believe this to be an issue with the software.

I think it would be better to save the setting and ftp configuration in a file instead of in the registery

I have been using FileZilla for the last two years. Its a great app. I do have a suggestion. It would be great if you can implement a feature to save login details from the quick connect bar history.

Some softwares like CCleaner will clear the quickconnect history by default. We will need to manually change the CCleaner settings to prevent this.

I had lost some of my clients login details because of this.

Please let me know your thoughts.

I maintain several multipage websites and I frequently use FTP to update changed pages only. The most useful folder view for this operation is to show files in date-modified order, newest at the top.

I would like to have FileZilla remember the way I left the folder and present the same view next time.

Alternatively, I'd settle for a preference setting to pick the default folder view.

Auto-refresh of the local file list wouldn't go amiss either.

Hello I have downloaded this weekend the filezilla for mac intel I unzipped the file and drag it into application, and when I tried to run it looks like it's going to open and then crash. I have a intel mac 1.83 withe the following version 10.4.11

hi, in order to use s/key authentication it would help tremendously to have the password dialog not before the connection attempt, but rather when the server prompts for it. this is because when logging in as user:skey you will get a hint from the server on how to generate your one time password locally, thus not requiring you to remember your s/key id and what sequence number you're currently at, or alternatively having a pre-generated one time password at disposal.

your software is awesome... but i would love to request a feature that i believe would be very useful....

i believe filezilla should also support rsync protocol... the only reference i found to it is from #755621...

another thing that could be really nice is to have filezilla working on mac os x... its just a thought...

it would be nice to have a mode/ checkbox

so we can sync the local and remote ... when browsing directorys

so when we make a connection we specift that directory

/remote/a1

refers to directory

/local/xy/a1

then the GUI will automatically change the directory in remote when we change a directory in local (if it exists)

this would save time and a lot of missed uploads

of course there should be a easy way to switch this off for a session as someimtimes we need to delibrately put it on another directory - like when making an exploded back up ...

basicaly say

c:\webs\sel2in\ dir on local matches /public_html/ on my server

so if i change to c:\webs\sel2in\projects on my local pane in side Filezilla it knows to move to /public_html/projects on my server if it exists else prompt to make a new folder

and vice versa

I use Filezilla server 0.9.19 (I have installed the lastest version today) and Windows XP pro. I have two accounts. Admin a Power User. I installed filezilla as admin and I use it in Power user account. Sometime when somebody upload me a file, I don't have right to delete it from my disk. I need to login as admin and delete it.

I've been testing in two Linux and two Windows systems on the same internet line. Everything works OK in Windows and even in Linux if running the Windows version of Filezilla through Wine!

The problem with the Linux version of Filezilla is, when connected to a FTPES server and trying to upload a file, it is uploading only around half a second, then it stops, timeouts, reconnects, continues the upload again for around half a seconds, timeouts, etc.

Sometimes if inactive for like a minute or two, it gives "425 Unable to build data connection: Operation not permitted" error, when trying to refresh.

Downloading seems OK.

Tested versions: 3.3.5.1, 3.5.1, 3.5.2-rc1.

In "Setting"->"Connetction"->"retry Setting",I set 60 seconds to retry,but when I conncet to a ftp site,when the site say "too many users - please try again later",then it show "Error : Unable to connect!",and retey the site right now.

retrieving previous logs on admin interface startup is what i miss, specially when managing server from different computer than server (which is typical - server is on separate computer). in addition there should be option for retrieving number of lines from logs or number of days (maybe with possibility to choose the range of days), and possibility to search text inside log (displayed or the whole saved)

We can get through using a command line ftp, but filezilla returns this error message:

Error: Transfer channel can't be opened. Reason: The requested address is not valid in its context. Error: Timeout detected!

We are using xitami version 2.5c2 filezilla version 2.2.19a OS: Windows xp pro service pack 2.

complete, even I got few bytes before, and lot of bytes still to download

I try to developpe an PHP interface to modify the FileZilla Server.xml file.

It work but my problem is that the server take care of my add only if y restart the server :/

are there a way to make CLI ? (DOS command ligne with the server) or a why to say to fileZilla server to take care of the modification made in the file ?

When transferring two files at the same time there are two progress bar indicating the percentages, when resizing the window/transfer panel the one below disappears and does not show anymore. This happens with 3.0.10 client under win32

The replies to ls 150 and 226 come together on the same server reply. the client has to dig in there to find out that those are actually to responses.

I thought it was confusing to the client side it was in my client (my program), nothing I could not handle though. I just though it might be confusing to other clients.

I read the RFC959 and it is not clear whether you should send them seperatelly

I get a message saying that it the file I wanted to drag to the server already exist. When I click cancel - I get a message saying the file transfer was successfully completed - which it is. So, it might be that the algorithm is trying to copy the same file twice?
