OSX - Cannot recognise OSX folder aliases

Cannot follow OSX folder aliases. Just sees them as files.

What is a folder alias? Perhaps they really are files? Note that FileZilla displays things how they really are, it does not hide reality from the user as Finder does.

An alias in OSX is the equivalent of a symlink in unix or a shortcut in windows. So when you click on the alias, it will open the target file in another directory. You can learn more here:

Filezilla doesn't recognize this. So right now, the actual alias file is being uploaded instead of the target of the alias.

I'm not the original reporter, but this is a definite "nice to have" for OS X users. Let me know if you need any more info.
