OSX - Only sees root drive, doesn't see other drives

Description
The local site box can only access the root system drive. It cannot (seemingly) access other drives. This is a problem when you've moved your OSX user-account to a different drive.

OS X is a Unix system. On a UNIX system, all drives are mounted into the same hierarchy. You should find mounted drives other than the root drive under /Volumes/ or similar.
