i just use the server and i noticed these 2 problems:

1. the server doesn't know the quit-command (500

Syntax error, command unrecognized.)

2. if i activate "Show relative paths" for a user then

this user can't change to another directory (550 CWD failed. "/EXAMPLE": directory not found.)

it's running on a winME system

I am trying to transfer files from a windows 2k pro platform to a unix system running proftp v1.2.1. The files that I am transfering contain spaces. The application does not seem to recognize this and does not quote or escape the spaces when the remote host (unix) assumes that a space is a inter-file seperator.

Ie. the file "this is a test" would look to unix as four files "this" "is" "a" "test". as a space is considered part of the IFS. To get around this the client needs to do some custome parsing if it finds the remote site is a unix host. (ie, escaping the spaces, or converting them (user definable?)).

After connecting to ediaclit.vtk.ktu.lt issues command PORT 192,168,1,33,6,238 This command is not understood by server and it's unable to retrieve the directoru listing.

(last number differs from time to time). 192.168.1.33 is my IP (I am behind masquarading firewall that uses DHCP).

When I have gotten disconnected from a server (because of a timeout or any other reason) and then tell FileZilla to upload a file it tells me that I got disconnected, but nevertheless it puts the file into the Queue with the status "Transferring". From this moment on uploading and downloading does not work at all, because the file I chose to upload is the top task of the queue, you can't delete it from the queue or reset its status, and it never starts (or even finishes) to upload. The only solution then is to restart FileZilla, the file remains in the queue, but you can reset or delete it then

In version 1.8 the directory is always ending with a "/". That is not allowed on an OpenVMS system. On that system the directory is ending with a "]" (without quotes).

When i try to upload with 1.8 in passive mode, i get an error:

Compared with 1.7b (which works), there was no PASV command issued after STOR. It just goes straight to "data connection." That has to be the reason it's messing up.. right?

I tried it real quick to upload to a proftpd server and i got the same error.

you right-click in the left window and select "properties". I found out that this happens with W2K SP2 but not with 98SE...

I had three files (each about 700 MB) in the Queue. Today when I resumed them the "remaining time" and "queue size" got crazy.

As for system information, I'm running a Pentium 4 1.4ghz with 768 megs of ram, plenty of disk space (no low disk space problems), WindowsXP, LAN connected to DSL via a Microsoft SOCKS4 proxy.

I uploaded a file tonight using both 1.7b and 1.83 versions, and experienced these problems regarding date and time:

1) Both versions report the file date as 2001, instead of 2002.

2) While version 1.7b does at least refresh the destination file window, 1.83 displays question marks. You have to manually refresh the window.

I actually had to use another FTP program to verify the problem reporting dates was indeed a FileZilla problem.

I have two machines with Filezilla installed; one runs Win2K and the other Win98. Filezilla 1.8 on the Win2K machine allows me to connect to a kerberized ftp server; Neither Filezilla 1.8.3 and 1.9 on the Win98 allows me to connect to the same kerberized ftp server. I receive the error that Authentification failed, probably because I do not have kerberos 5 tickets. But I DO have kerberos 5 tickets. I run Leash32 and get tickets before running FileZilla.

I cannot use the proxy to connect with version 1.9.2 of FileZilla. The problem doesn't occur with version 1.8.3. My settings are FTP proxy, with host and port, no user or password and the proxy type is 'USER with no logon'. The answer from the remote host is always invalid password. Is seems FileZilla 1.9.2 is no sending the command PASS correctly.

I have been using Filezilla for somme weeks now (version 1.8.1, on W2K) and there seem to be a file limit at 2 GB for the files that we can transfer or even catalog. Since recognizing this, I have tried other FTP client: leechFTP, WS-FTP LE, Smart FTP, even the DOS FTP client of Win2K seem to have the same bug, whereas Windows commander succeeded to the transfer, only restarting the counter at 0 every 2 GB, but at the end I had my 11 GB backup.bkf file transferred correctly. I have looked at the release notes for version 1.9 and 1.9.2 and searched with the keywords limit and GB but did not find anything on that.

I'm using FileZilla 1.9.3 on Win98SE with WinSock 2 installed. While downloading a huge directory (>10000 files) it starts downloading quiete normal but crashes all of a sudden... no other program is running besides FileZilla and I'm doing nothing exept for watching the screen. I tried it several times... but there is no scheme for the crashes (it downloads sometimes more, sometimes less files before crashing).

I found 2 Bugs concerning VMS:

1) When I want to change the remote directory to somthing like "W:[XXX]", then text ist changed to "/W: [XXX]/" and the directory listing fails.

2) The Version information within the VMS filenames (fname.ext;1 fname.ext;2 ...) is stripped and so I get several files with the same name.

When connecting to the server, the connection gets as far as the LIST command and then eventually times out on Windows XP. The strange thing is that this only occurs if I connect via my builtin ethernet card. If I am using a wireless card, then the connection to the same server works fine.

One of my colleagues has the exact opposite problem. He does not get the listing when he uses his Wireless card, but is fine with his wired ethernet card.

On yet another test machine, both interfaces work.

System Info Dell Latitude C600 WinXP (clean install) with all Critical and Driver updates installed for this machine as of 4/19/2002 FileZilla 1.9.4a

Using FileZilla version 1.9.8. Filenames over approximately 17 characters long do not show up in the remote site window. Looking at the trace output of a List Directory, it appears that the data returned to Filezilla wraps everything after the filename (size, date, time, permissions) to the next line. For shorter filenames, it returns the information on a single line. Am attaching detailed tracefile that details the information.

FileZilla server causes all drop down menus (Right click menus, File, Edit, etc) to turn black after running the server for approximately 24 hours.

The icon in the task bar for the server disappears and becomes blank and then all menus are black upon initial click. Scrolling the mouse down the menu causes the menu items to appear one by one, but the space between the menus remains black instead of the customary Windows gray.

This behaviour is only observed with FileZilla Server 0.7.3a running and cannot be fixed without a reboot.

When connected to several Solaris servers (even as root), filezilla doesn't show the entire dir list or all the archives, as far as I can see its a rather erratical behaviour, some files that are shown have the same attributes as some that aren`t shown, nevertheless, all the files appear on the trace in the debug panel bug then they do not appear on the dirtree or the file panel.

I tried to use Filezilla with a my gss module (​https://sourceforge.net/projects/gssmod/) for proftpd 1.2.8rc2 from cvs and it seems that after the ADAT commands you issue immediatly a CWD command which isn't allowed. Filezilla then tries correctly to use the USER command and proftpd returns a "331 Password required" which can be in case of a successful ADAT a dummy password (The internal structure of proftpd always requires a password, although not necessary). But just here Filezilla closes the connection. I assume it doen't expect a 331 return code.

Trying to run FileZilla Server on a WinXP machine, and I keep getting this error message in the interface:

I found that filezilla server had problems with folder names of Chinese characters. But rather, it's not just a DBCS (double-byte character system) compatability problem. I could enter those folders in question and get the file list normally, but when I started to download files in those folders, filezilla server reported "550 file not found" for each file. I tried to use the same Chinese characters as file names and those files could be downloaded normally. This problem occurs only with folders (with Chinese name), not files (with Chinese name), and only while downloading files in thoese folders. Looks like filezilla server has some problem handling folder names on action of file transfer.

Although not all Chinese characters cause this problem, it occurs very often. In my experience, 2 folders out of 4 exhibited this problem. It is probabily a bug ranther than a Chinese character compatability problem.

I tried two different clients, filezilla and windows xp built-in ftp, and confirmed that this problem was at server side. (The server was executed on windows me)

In my web server, i have several folders containing image files. Some of the folders are empty, but have to be created before even they are empty, for my PERL script to check them. When i try to upload the main folder containing those folders, FileZilla doesn't create empty ones. It only creates the folders that have files in. In my opinion, it should create the folders whether they are empty or not...

The listing for ftp solaris server, don't show ok.

There seems to be a huge Bug in 2.2 (or is it a bug in Windows?):

If I connect to a FileZilla Server 0.8.5 using FileZilla Client 2.2 I can create a directory on the server called "This is a testdir...". On the server the directory is now called "This is a testdir.." (with only two dots) and it cannot be renamed or deleted! You can't change into that directory with FileZilla Client and you also can't delete it using the client.

You now have an undeleteable directory on the server. Perfect for script kiddies.

Is there a bugfix/workaround for this behavior?

When installing FileZilla-2.2.0 (on a WinXP box) it offers no capability to install for "All Users", and instead unconditionally installs Start menu items in the current users' start menu (whether they be an administrator or not).

FileZilla-2.1.7 had a similar bug. It installed to "All Users" but the permission of the files were set to be unreadable by anyone other than the user who installed them.

Installed 2.2.4c on two Win 98 boxes, and it fails to work on either. Double click the icon, disk whirs, then nothing... 2.2.4b works fine

Filezilla 2.2.4c and 2.2.4d doesn't start under Win NT 4.0 Sp 6a. Earlier versions started correctly. Changing preferences (and removing them from registry) can't help.

When I'm trying to connect to a server(by TLS), connection is stopped after authorization !!!

What I have to do ????

In both Filezilla 2.2.6 and 2.2.7 (at least) Filezilla is attempting to send PASV mode command when it should not be. I have PASV turned off in firewall options AND I have "Use Active Mode" explicitly set in the site for Site Manager (I've tried to use default in site manager also.) This is causing me errors as the FTP server I am speaking to does not gracefully handle being asked to go to PASV. However, since there is no reasno for filezilla to be sending the PASV command it is clearly a bug.

When hammering the FTP server on a local host (127.0.0.1) with wrong logins, the server becomes non-responsive after 12 attempts. I see the '(not logged in)' text in the server log when a user logs on, but the server never returns the password prompt ans stalls for this connection completely.

Valid users cannot log on anymore as well.

With FileZilla 2.2.12 and some older versions I'm unable to to transfer data to and from our z/OS mainframe with HFS file system. I think the directory is formatted incorrectly as it contains brackets which is not allowed, like '/u/test/(test.txt)'. It worked correctly with ealier versions of FileZilla, I don't know which version is the first version containing this errror. Here are some extracts of the log: Connecting to mvs2 ... Hello I am a very glad user of filezilla + filezilla server ! I've found a (little) bug : it is impossible for filezilla client to erase directories in filezilla server if this directiory is too big, if it contains many subdirectories and many files. Example : directory = image of WINDOWS-XP installation CD. Timeout on connexion duration stops this operation before it is complete. Timeout on connexion duration is not reinitialized at each operation (LIST ou DELE). To erase such big directories, it is necessary to proceed in several (many) smaller erase operations. I am using the new snapshot of FileZilla and i have a problem. The "UP" directory now works but i have another problem in that as soon as i use it i cannot then get into any folder i have not previously been in to.

Looking at it, there seems to be a problem with the /:sd:/ I am not sure if it is being stored twice or something but if i delete it from the Remote Site bar i can then travel into directories manually.

Also, it seems when you go down a level from the root directory and then go back, when you next try and go down a level it fails becasue it is trying to enter :sd:/:sd:

I am using the newest Filezilla Server and newest Filezilla client: Client: 2.2.16 Server: 0.9.10a

I have SSL implicit FTPS setup on both sides. I uploaded a 3Mb zip file and it is corrupted at the destination. I am using a proxy (I tried socks 5 and http proxies) and passive mode. I have used autoTYPE and also forced BINARY; I have tried this with and without compression and it still fails. I also am experiencing a lot of dropped connections that I think are related to the client.

So to figure out which side is having problems, I used the WSFTP client to connect to filezilla server via SSL. and it works fine uploading the same file with no change to FZ server properties.

It looks like the client might be truncating the files, as the filesizes look like: source file: 3,837,305 bytes dest file: 3,832,693 bytes

FTP open says corrupted file.

At least at my version (0.9.12c) the Speed-Limit settings page (At the Server-Settings dialogue) is totaly nonsense. When I want to limit the outgoing bandwith of the server I have to limit the "download" speed and to cap the incomping line I have to set a "upload" limit. Seen from the client's side, it is totally correct but seen from the server's side it is just confusing. Perhabs the correct naming should be "Speed-Limit (Outgoing)" and "Speed-Limit (Incoming)". Using the terms Upload/Download is just confusing.

It seems to exist two ability to transfer directory listing to client, LIST and MLST/MLSD. I have one client, that uses default MLSD and then FileZilla don't transfer aliases (like /filegroup1) defined for user. With LIST are all directories showed.

I don't know very good this funktions and the kind FileZilla use aliases, but I think this is a bug of FileZilla.

P.S.: Tested with FileZilla Server 0.9.17 beta and UTF- 8

Using the Perl ftp interface Net::FTP, I created a script to automaticly upload files to an FTP server running FireZilla 0.9.18b. Right now this server is incorrectly receiving the FTP requests from my client.

In the firezilla admin tool I see the request as "ORT

192,168,1,101,13,94" where my FTP client says its sending "PORT 192,168,1,101,13,94". The missing first letter is confirmed to be a FireZilla parsing problem because I used Ethereal to monitor the traffic and indeed, PORT is being sent.

Whenever I start FileZilla (running version 2.2.24b), I have to adjust the size of the columns in the "Transfer queue"-window part.

But although I've set FileZilla to remember its settings, the Transfer queue *never* remembers about the widths!

This is quite annoying, so a bugfix would be greatly appreciated!

It seems that Filezilla is not able to rename a file twice that is located on an Mac OS XSan (1.3) Volume. It also seems that filezilla cannot delete a file after it has been renamed.

Initial file name was test.php. After renaming it once to test2.php any further attempts to rename or delete the file errored out. I tries closing the restarting the application but the results were the same. Seems like there is some strange file name caching happening somewhere in the interaction.(please note that I have shortened the paths for read-ability)

Tests with other sftp clients (Winscp382 and Tunnelier) seem to indicate that this is an Xsan-Filezilla specific issue. Rename and Delete operations worked normally on other non-Xsan volumes on the server (i.e:/var/tmp/). I will try to update Xsan today (version 1.4) to see if it resolves the issue. Just thought you might want a heads up.

I was evaluating the IP*Works component and found it not to work with FZ server in FTP implicit mode. The guys at IP*Works responded right away and tried to research the issue. There's what they said:

" Our developers have done some more research on this issue, and there are some problems here that appear to be with the server. Since it is still in beta, this is not very surprising. In Explicit mode on upload, the component simply closes the data connection but the server reports a 426 FTP error. I'm not sure why the server is doing this, since the component is performing the appropriate action. In Implicit, it appears that the server is not even responding to the SSL handshake for the data connection. At this point, there is nothing that can be done within the component to accommodate this server. Hopefully when the server is no longer in Beta, these issues will have been resolved. At that time, if there are still some other problems, we will be happy to investigate them. You may also consider reporting these errors to the makers of the FTP server for their input and consideration. "

We cannot get a directory from a server running filezilla that is not under our control. The outside owner of the server sent us this log. What is the problem with this. We get the same results using nlist or nlst.

This anonymous password works better that current. Some stupid ftp servers try to check the host if exists. Also neither mozilla nor ie send a host. Mozilla and IE are not anonymous but they should fix that.

When running a FTP server from behind a NAT router, you need to be able to specify to the server which IP address to use for PASV transfers. Cannot use the IP address from the socket because that IP address is only valid within the local network, and is inaccessible from the other side of the router.

So, this patch allows you to configure:

• Wether the IP address is customized.
• The actual IP address.
• A range of ports that will be used in a rotating

fashion.

The range of ports is necessary because, in order to be able to forward connection requests to local machnes, the router needs to know those ports. You could always tell the router to forward all ports 1 to 65535, but that's hardly appropriate.

XBFileZilla now support the display of the mapped drives at the rootlevel. If you wish to integrate this feature in FileZilla Server, do a search on _XBOX in the two attached files to find the code to be added.

I've been using FileZilla Server and it's great -- better than any other FTP server I tried, including a number of commercial FTP servers, in fact.

I wanted to be able to use a larger welcome message, so I've patched the code (0.8.9) to accept lines up to 75 characters long ("220 " + 75 characters == 79) and the admin interface to accept up to 7500 characters in the text input widget. But then the admin interface and the on-disk log were showing my huge welcome message, which was irritating, so I also patched the code so that the welcome message will not be shown there (I added a switch to Send() to tell it whether or not to also display the output by calling SendStatus()).

Attached is an archive with my changed files and a diff. If you don't want to go the diff route, just search the changed files for "jason" -- I've commented each line I changed.

this patch adds:

as local filename or as ftp name

• transfer speed per connection
• transfer progress in %
• sort user display by ip or account
• group display for windows xp
• the pane layout can be switched horizontal/vertical
• pane layout setting, pane splitter position, filename

display setting and user sorting settings are saved to the options file

tested under windows 98, 2000 and xp.

This patch makes showing the hidden local files optional, defaulting to the current behavior (of ignoring the hidden attribute).

This is exposed as a check box on the local view options page.

If hidden files are not shown, they will not be uploaded either.

The only outstanding issue is the now ambiguous view menu options "Show hidden files" I would recommend changing this to "Show Remote hidden files" or something similar. Leaving it as is just invites bug reports. This change is not included in the patch.

This argument causes FileZilla overwrites any existing

This patch allow FileZilla 3 RC1 enable the keepalive function for FTP. No option setting now, it will always enable keepalive for FTP, randomly send command every 30-60 seconds.

SFTP in FZ3 seems already with keepalive, so I just add this for FTP. (It's easy to enable it for another protocol, just modify the KeepAlive() for protocol's ControlSocket.)

the bypass proxy feature was really useful to me in version 2.x but was lost in the version 3.x So here are the patches that made this feature "alive" again. I build the patched filezilla under mingw (cygwin) and all works fine.

I've added a couple of options that I find sometime useful to the file exist actions. The new options are:

• overwrite if size is different
• overwrite if size is different or source is newer

I also made some changes around the code in order to allow future new option easy to add; I changed all (all the ones I found) refernces to fie exist actions as integer in actions as "enum CFileExistsNotification::OverwriteAction"

I tested the changes compiling the code under mingw, they seem to work fine.

This 2 useful features will be great for web delopers and others who would be using ftp clients then most normal users, most currently market available ftp clients have this 2 functions.

1) Uploading in ASCII and BINARY 2) Ability to use CHMOD function (for UNIX Based server)

Finally - a non-bloated FTP client... This is wonderful!

The site manager is too big for a 640x480 screen resolution (which I'm restricted to, at the moment). Oh, and I'd also like it if the main FTP window saved it's position setting, local tree view setting, etc...

I have been gladly impressed by FileZilla. I'd never found an ftp program so good... and it is even better considering its wonderful price ;).

There is a feature that I have been looking for from long time ago in an ftp program that I haven't found yet. I think it could be a great complement for FileZilla. This is a "backup mode". I think it could be very helpful for webmasters with slow dial-up connections like me that want to make backups of our websites, but without wasting the time of downloading all the files that haven't changed since the last backup.

It could be implemented as a new feature or simply as a new option in the dialog box that appears when a downloaded file is already in the local computer. In addition to the current "Overwrite", "Rename" and "Skip" options, this new button could be called something like "copy only if newer".

First of all, I'd like to say, great job so far! I am a fan of open source and FileZilla is looking and working great so far.

I do have a suggestion (several actually, but just one for now): In the site manager, allow each site to have a default local directory so that when you connect to it, the local site pane automatically changes to that directory on your computer.

Here's another suggestion: Have an option for the Site Manager to show when FileZilla starts, or perhaps a simple list of sites in the site manager from which you could double-click one to have it connect to that site. It would save time from having to open the site manager when you start it.

I've seen other softwares doing this, is it possible to control the transfer speed, both download and upload? This feature already exist in LeechFTP, NetAnts, GoZilla, FlashGet, etc.

Ver 1.3 doesn't allow to change the CHMOD of a selected group of files and/or directories, you can only CHMOD one by one. Please allow that in the next release. Thanks for this great program!

I am using FileZilla 1.4 on Windows 2000, service pack 2.

I think it would be nice if FileZilla followed the windows convention saved the Maximize/Restore settings when you close it. Currently, if I open FileZilla, maximize it, close it, and then re-open it, it doesn't open maximized. This is a nice feature, and I don't think it would be very hard to implement.

It would be convenient if ctrl-a selected all items in the list views (both the file lists and the queue).

It would be nice if you could resize the window smaller that it is now (v1.5a). It take about 75% of the screen and this can get very annoying, particularly when multiply windows are running.

It's quite annoying to "lose" your .htaccess files, and have to start a console ftp program to download and edit them.

It would be nice if there was an option to show them by default.

Ability to create folders within the Site Manager. I have lots of FTP URLS. It would be nice if the list FileZilla did not save them in the registry but rather to a separate file too.

It would really be great if we dont have to resize the window everytime Filezilla is executed. If the window posiiton is maximised, it'd be better if it stays that way on the next execution jus like Internet Explorer.

An option to set how file sizes must be shown would be very appreciated. Currently local files are in bytes, Kb or Mb according to their size, while remote files are always shown in bytes; if both were shown ALWAYS in bytes, it would be much easier for me finding out if a local file is the exact same version of the remote one.

BTW, great program! It's replacing CuteFTP on my system.

I think FileZilla should also remember other settings, besides the window size. For example, it could remember the size of the "frames", I mean, the local and remote file list areas... I always drag the separator to the left because I don't need all that space for the local file list, I prefer seeing the remote file permissions. And also list sort prefs should be remembered, maybe even on a single server scale, I mean... each configured FTP server might have its own sorting prefs.

And so on.

I would like to see an option in the settings for file viewing/editing to be able to automatically use the default Windows file association instead of having to associate each file extention within the program.

The docs do not specify the format for importing a file into the queue. The choices are xml and txt, but the docs don't provide an example of either.

You run FileZilla (2.1.9a) and select a site to connect from bookmark, and after the connection and download / upload you go out from pg.

When you run the pgm next time and select the bookmark manager, the default selected item is not last used item (in previuos session) but the firsi site/folder in list

Together with "Use multiple connections" in Queue menu, another "check option" "Use speed limit" to obey or not the speed limits set in the configuration, for downloads and uploads.

The HTML Help files do outline all of the features of Filezilla but can still be improved. For instance, the version history only goes up to Version 2.1.6 (2002-04-18). This could be updated from the readme file. Although not necessary, it would be good if the screenshots were updated to reflect the latest version.

To save time, perhaps people could attach screenshots to this request? Proxy settings screenshot attached (v2.2.5; the one in the help file is out of date).

I would like to see the the logging feature enhanced to include the following information upon the successful completion of an upload or download: date/time stamp at completion, file name transferred, the total number of bytes, the time it took and the transfer rate. In a corporate environment, this information in invaluable when you are asked to prove that an upload was completed successfully.

One way to allow the NAT operations of your router to continue to function when using an SSL secured FTP connection is by using the CCC command. CCC stands for Clear Command Channel. It is a command issued by the FTP client to the FTP server that indicates that the command channel should be unencrypted. Data transfers remain encrypted after issuing this command, so all files transfers and directory listings remain secure. However, with an unencrypted command channel, your router can still follow the FTP transaction and perform its NAT operations to assist with data transfers. In Options, you can set several file extensions which should be treated as ASCII files. However, this field is limited to 10 positions. On the system I need to administer, extensions are used longer then 10 characters (for instance, foo.MailReceiver) In the current situation it is not possible to add these types as ASCII.

Please enlarge this field to , say, 255 positions??

When we create a site where we have read/write access, we should have a preference for "read-only" access if we don't want to risk accidentally modifying files, and we only need read access to the server. In that case, the Filezilla client would deny sending and deleting files even if the server would have otherwise let us.

It could be a very fantastic feature to let filezilla remember the local/remote file matching when uploading. So if you simply double-click the local file it would be uploaded in the last remembered remote folder, without having to search for that in the remote panel, that is very chore and repetitive.

Very often I edit a file via "edit file" in filezilla. When I test something (maybe php script) I have to enter the filezilla window to confirm "upload the file" every time I would like to test the script / after I saved it locally.

please add a function/option called "automatically upload files when edited/saved locally" or something like that to make working with filezilla easier.

When one edits a file from the server and the file is already being edited, it would be nice if the dialog that asks "A file with that name is already being edited. Discard old file and download the new file?" also had an "Open existing file" button, rather than just a Yes or No.

The existing file is usually sitting somewhere in a hard to reach location, and I might not want to redownload it, such as in the case where I closed the editor by accident.

I maintain several multipage websites and I frequently use FTP to update changed pages only. The most useful folder view for this operation is to show files in date-modified order, newest at the top.

I would like to have FileZilla remember the way I left the folder and present the same view next time.

Alternatively, I'd settle for a preference setting to pick the default folder view.

Auto-refresh of the local file list wouldn't go amiss either.

When opening a directory which is a little ways down in the remote file list (eq, you must scroll down to see the directory), the resulting file list is also scrolled down. So that when you double click on a directory and you expect to be shown the top of the file list with . and .. dir entries, you are actually dropped right into the middle of the file list. It's as if the program is trying to preserve your initial scroll depth or something.

After connecting to my site, when i try to sort the remote site files by date, nothing happens. Sorting by name and file size works fine.

If a new server is created with a connection type other than anonymous and no user is supplied, the server is discarded (not stored in the servermanager database) without message.
