When I try to start Filezilla 1.0 or 1.1, I get an error message: LOADER ERROR: The ordinal 6929 could not be located in the dynamic link library MFC42.DLL. This is on a W95 machine.

Version 1.0 on a W98 machine works fine.

I am using FileZilla_3.21.0_win64. Starting 24 hours ago, when I navigate to my local directory (a sub-folder on my Desktop), the files being shown are not the ones that actually exist. The files being shown are actually from a different sub-folder on my Desktop. Performing a refresh does not fix the problem. I've uninistalled and reinstalled FileZilla, restarted my PC (Windows 10 on an HP Envy laptop), renamed the local folder, copied and pasted the files to a brand new sub-folder on my desktop with a different name). I also installed a different FTP program (WinSCP) and it recognizes the correct files with no issue.

What I'm doing is using Articulate Storyline 2 to create and publish files for an e-Learning module. I then use FileZilla to FTP those files to a directory on my website for hosting the e-Learning module.

I've been using FileZilla since May and have had no issues until the past 24 hours.

When using the option to edit files (right click on local file -> Edit) it would be nice to be able to choose the 'done editing this file' withouth having to edit the file first for the pop up to come.

Either a small list of files you are curently editing or just replacing the option to edit with an option to stop editing :)

I would like to see the ability monitor a local folder for new files every five seconds. Also an option to delete the file from the local folder after sucessful transfer.

When I start up FileZilla, it switches the local directory in the bottom window to the correct directory. But the directory tree in the top is still at 'my computer' - so when I try to upload a file, it just does nothing. Literally. So what I do is click in the text folder listing (like c:\ftpuploads\) and then press the ENTER key, and it reloads both the upper and the lower, and then the file upload works correctly.

This one took me awhile to track...

"Passive mode settings" When using SSL and being behind a firewall, if "Default" or "Retrieve External IP from:" are chosen, then the server will send back to the client its local IP address instead of the external one (even though ​http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/misc/ip.php returns the external IP just fine). The client tries to establish data connection using this local IP and of course fails.

The only option that works is "Use the following IP:"

When using SSL (explicit or implicit) connection through SOCKS proxy server returns local IP address in the PORT command instead of the address from primary client connection. Switching SSL off results in normal PORT command behavior.

An additional menu item of 'Explore' on local folders within Filezilla which opened Windows Explorer in that folder would be a great time saver.

I noticed that in the current version of FileZilla (3.2.4.1), contents of local site (folders, files) are not automatically refreshed. This feature is enabled on previous versions (2.2.32). This feature is helpful especially when I am waiting for new files coming from somewhere in the network. If this feature is enabled, I don't have to click "Refresh" button from time to time to see if there is new file ready for upload.

The list(s) of directories shown in the local site treeview are no longer sorted into alphanumerical order. This works fine in 2.2.15 but was broken by 2.2.18 and is still broken in the latest version 2.2.23. The filename list below works fine in all versions as does (in my experience) the remote tree view - it is ONLY the local treeview that is affected.

This makes navigating through local directories/servers with a large number of subdirectories extremely tedious (in fact, I downgraded back to 2.2.15 because I found it so annoying!)

The local site should allow you to enter network path names, or allow you to browse to desktop and select My Network Places.

Local Tree View does not sort alphabetically all the time. This tends to happen on semi-deep directory structures. I start notice it on the 5th level.

In my local directory I have PDF files about 1.9mb long, but FZ displays 1mb. In the remote directory that same file will be displayed as 196kb. These are both incorrect.

The following dialog appears when I move from editing one "index.php" to another:

Selected file already being edited The selected file is already being edited: index.php

Action to perform:

• Reopen local file
• Discard local file then download and edit file anew

OK / Cancel

I use "index.php" across multiple directories so that my pages have clean URLs (i.e. domain.com/about/ instead of domain.com/about.php). It would be very helpful if Filezilla could take the server path into account while editing files.

Alternatively, I would be satisfied if there was simply an option to remember the chosen action.

In my case, the current implementation acts as a hindrance rather than a feature. It's a good idea -- it could just use a little refinement.

An option which let's you define an default directory which is opened at FileZilla Start.

So you don't have to manually set the Same Folder as default local folder for all Servers.

I'm using the Apple Store 'FileZilla Pro' version.

Most local directories and files are not displaying in the window. However the Downloads directory works. Is this some sort of file permissions issue?

This is a fresh install on a new machine. I imported my Site Manager accounts and preferences from the previous machine (which ran the same version of FileZilla Client and Mac OS).

Right-Click on a directory, choose "Delete" from menu. Directory gets deleted, but it does stay in the directory list. Trying to access it gives Message Box "'directory' does not exist or cannot be accessed."

The Refresh button (or F5) doesn't refresh the directory list either. It stays in the list until FileZilla is restarted.

On two occasions since installing version 3.1.3.1., when i have made file transfers by the usual drag and drop method, the original directory or file has been moved rather than copied. As i make a lot of transfers every day, this is concerning, as i do not now know what other files may have been moved without me noticing.

When browsing the local tree, when one arrives at the root directory (C:\) there is still a folder in the interface for going to the "parent" directory of C:\. When clicked upon, it goes to "\", showing the drive letters as part of the directory listing. However, trying to access any drive letter is impossible since it goes to "\<drive>\", which doesn't exist. (for example, C:\, the parent is \, and going to c: again leads to \c:\. The workaround for now would be to type in the drive letter at the "local site".

FileZilla v3.0.8.1 under Windows XP Pro x64 Edition SP2

Expected behavior:

When refreshing either via the 'Refresh' button or with 'F5' the application would then refresh both the local folder contents pane and the currently expanded folders in the folder tree.

Actual behavior:

When refreshing either via the 'Refresh' button or with 'F5' the application refreshes the local folder contents pane but does not refresh the folder tree pane.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open FileZilla. 2) Open a local folder. 3) Within Windows Explorer or some other program, create a folder within the selected folder from step 2. 4) Return to FileZilla and click 'Refresh' or press 'F5'. 5) FileZilla will now display the new folder within the 'folder contents pane' but not within the 'tree view pane'.

The attached screen cap shows two folders that were added between refreshes. Prior to refresh the green highlighted entries were not shown.

Expected the green highlighted items to also be displayed in the labeled 'tree panel' list.

Using FileZilla 3.0.5, I can only edit local files, when connected to a remote maschine. If I disconnect and try to edit a local file nothing happens. As soon as I connect to a remote maschine, local editing works again ;-)

BTW: Will there be a online help for version 3 client, like for the version 2 branch of FileZilla client ?

When FileZilla Client is launched and before making connection to the server, if right click a local file and select edit, nothing happens. This will only works after connection is established and remote files are visibla.

Upgrading from Filezilla 3.40 to 3.58 (64 bit on Win 7), version 3.58 always shows file list for local machine as blank or no files. Cannot find solution in forum or other tickets.

Also could not find on download options to fetch older versions - was unable to use FTP for days until found a copy of 3.40.

Keep up the good work, Filezilla is the best FTP client available, but when it fails, we fall into the blackhole. :)

This is maybe not a bug but an improvement, anyway I think that the local file list should be refreshed everytime that a remote file is transferred to local, since some local files could be deleted or added to the folder and this is not reflected on the current list of files. Right now, when files are transfered from a remote server to local, those new files appear in the local file list, but the actual content of the folder is not refresed or displayed properly.

I think this list should also be refreshed when the window lost the focus and then is refocused (means that any other application had the focus).

Opened FZ Connected to a site When to c:\temp\xyz directory This directory has about 150 file in it Right-clicked and created a new directory "try1" under xyz Highlighted all files (not folders) in xyz and dragged them to the try1 folder. It highlighted and then I let go of the mouse. The files disappeared, as expected. The left file list pane went totally blank (no folders or files), which is unexpected. I could not get the left side to populate for any directory I clicked on in the tree. I tried reconnecting and refreshing, nothing worked except for restarting the app. Then everything showed up as expected.

Right click on the header bar for local files. The column setup dialog appears. Delete a column or move a column. The results are that the headers move, but the actual listing remains the same.

Two days ago, I updated the FileZilla on the latest version, and the bugs with the File has change popup started immediately.

Nothing happens once I edit and save the file (from the server opened with FileZilla) in my IDE. It usually popup the File that has changed so I can click on YES and save it.

I figure it out that once I save the file, I go to FileZilla and click on Site Manager->Cancel; only then the File has change popup will appear so I can click on YES to upload the file to the server.

I'm using the latest version of the macOS Monterey 12.3.1, PHPStorm, and FileZilla. (Also, I tried with Visual Studio Code, and the issue is still there).

This bug is giving me a hard time while I'm working. I'm hoping that you will treat this as an urgent issue.

Also, it would be great if you, in the meantime, give me the older version so I can switch it while you are working on the mentioned bug.

When performing a 'Server... reconnect' after an established connection has been disconnected, the local file pane is now reset to the initial default value if configured in Site Manager. Previous versions (<3.19.0) left both local and remote panes set to where they had been navigated to before the disconnect.

The remote pane remains unchanged regardless, and the local pane does not change if the initial value is blank in the Site Manager configuration.

The current (3.19.0) situation is inconsistent, and the previous behaviour seems preferable when working on a server with aggressive timeout settings.

Local files do not update once download is completed, I have to change directories and then return in order to see the files that I have downloaded.

If you have a network drive mapped to a directory on a UNIX machine, FileZilla can browse it in the "local site" window just as it can with C: etc.

But there's a problem... the UNIX filesystem is case- sensitive, so you could have X:\MyFolder and X:\myfolder as two separate folders (where X is the mapped drive). FileZilla can't handle this. When you try to view a local folder that contains two folders of the same name but different case, FileZilla hangs. It stops responding and hogs around 100% of CPU.

This was particularly bad for me, as I was viewing a folder, then I created a subfolder which had the same name but different case as an existing subfolder, (to be fair, FileZilla didn't let me do this, I had to do it on the command line), and refreshed FileZilla. Not only did it hang at that point, it proceeded to hang every time I started FileZilla... it had remembered the last local view and tried to reload it at startup.

Unfortunately it doesn't get as far as writing anything to the debug file.

Since my remote folder structure often is identical to my remote folder structure, a feature that mirrors local navigation on the remote site would be a huge timesaver. For instance:

Local folder: c:\myFolder remote folder: /mySite/myFolder

Double click on local folder "images" under "myFolder"

Is there an "images" folder under /mySite/myFolder?

• Yes: open the "images" folder
• No: do nothing

Double click on local folder "animated" under "images"

Is there an "animated" folder under /mySite/myFolder/images?

• Yes: open the "animated" folder
• No: do nothing

I have considered writing an FTP client of my own just for this feature alone, but just don't have the time.

Action: I have 2 tabs open to different areas of the same remote site, and the same local folder. I refresh the file listing

Expected behavior: The local listing refreshes in both tabs to reflect the current state

Actual behavior: The local listing only updates in the current tab.

Although you can navigate to a (Windows)
server\share location, when you transfewr from the remote server to the local destination the files are saved in the local drive. It is asthough
Boston\Share becomes c:\Boston\Share

I installed 2.2.9 over 2.2.8 and so deleted/uninstalled everything and tried again. No joy.

I'm not very sure but I think that this has worked fine in the past.

Using 3.1.1.1 and the previous version, when clicking the drives in the Local Site pane nothing appears in the files pane below except for the parent folder (..) link.

When clicking the drive for the first time the + sign disappears and stays gone for the session.

When a new mass-storage device is available (e.g. an external hard drive on USB), refreshing [F5] the local tree view does not show this new drive. The new drive _will_ appear if FileZilla is restarted.

Not urgent, as the lower pane (local directory view) lists the new drive at the 'My Computer' level.

For the FileZilla client, would the root of local treeview default to Desktop? It can let users to fast access the desktop and my document.

When browsing local system files in Filezilla, a zip file with an escaped apostrophe in the filename shows up as a folder (named as everything before the apostrophe, not including the backslash), with it's contents being a zip file (named as the apostrophe onward).

How I encountered the bug: -Connect to server with files identical to the files stored locally -Navigate to the zip file's containing folder on the remote host -Navigate to the zip file's containing folder locally -The local folder contained identical files as the remote one, except instead of "Guy-123\'s Important Stuff.zip", the local folder contained a folder named "Guy-123", and inside of it was a file named "'s Important Stuff.zip".

Other information: -The zip file contained a folder named "Guy-123's Important Stuff", without a backslash before the apostrophe.

-In Windows Explorer, the folder with file inside showed up exactly as Filezilla showed it.

-After deleting the folder and contents locally in Windows, and re-copying the zip folder to my local copy of the website in Filezilla, Filezilla created an exact copy of the folder-with-file instance that had previously occurred.

-Using an online control panel, the online zip file's name is also "Guy-123\'s Important Stuff.zip".

Here are discrepancies in the list formatting of file and folder details and columns between local and remote lists (note that the local system is Windows XP Pro, and the remote is Unix runnning Apache):

Filesize: (Configurable, but the only one)

Date/time:

• Local: One column named "Last Modified"; date

formatted m/dd/yyyy; time formatted H:mm t (?)

• Remote: Two columns named "Date" and "Time"; date

formatted mm/dd/yyyy; time formatted H:mm

Filetype: Missing on remote list

Permissons: Missing on local list, even though Windows sets permissions, too (just not the same as Unix)

Also, note that the local time format is incorrect, using 24-hour time and the AM/PM variable.

I would suggest (if it's not in your todo already) making all file and folder details and list columns fully configurable for both local and remote lists, including selectable columns and formatting (like currently with filesize).

I propose a button/menu check which when selected causes opening a folder on the remote view attempts to open a folder of the same name on the local view and vice-versa. Similarly for moving up the folder structure. Essentially, when the user wants, the remote and local views are locked together to allow quicker navigation when for example managing a website.

If I have an .xls file open in MS Excel, filezilla fails to upload. I must first close the file in MS Excel and then re-FTP.

Certain directories on remote server appear to be locked (see attached log). Opened a ticket at the remote server and they forwarded it to FTP Voyager (the FTP server that they use). FTP Voyager people insisted that I purchase their client. Their client has no problem accessing the "locked" directories. By the way, the same directories are "locked" when using the FTP Commander client.

My coworker uses CuteFTP Professional, and that FTP client has one feature that I wish FileZilla had. It's called Lockstep Folder Navigation, and it allows users to "navigate simultaneously through local and remote folder directories that share the same structure. This makes it easier to compare the two when synchronizing content" [1].

So, for example, if one were to open the /images directory in the local file list, the remote /images directory would be opened in the remote file list.

GlobalSCAPE CuteFTP has a feature called "Lockstep Folder Navigation" that I would love to see implemented in FileZilla as well. When you navigate to a folder in one pane, the program automatically navigates to the equivalent location in the other pane. I'll give an example to explain better:

You connect to a server. The left-hand pane (your local machine) is showing "C:\Website". The right-hand pane displays the contents of the server, "/". Suppose that both contain a folder called "images." You double-click on the images folder in the left-hand pane, opening it, so now the left-hand pane shows "C:\Website\images". With lockstep navigation, the right-hand pane would then automatically navigate to "/images/", without requiring the user to click on the images folder in this pane.

In other words, it would detect that you navigated to a folder in one pane that has an equivalent in the other pane, and accordingly would open both. Similarly, if you were to double-click on the ".." folder in the right pane at this point, it would move up by one directory in both panes.

This is a time-saving, convenience feature--it's not a bug fix or anything critical--but it really is fantastic, and I hope to see it in future versions of FileZilla.

If i attempt to transfer an entire web site directory with many directories/files inside of directories filezilla attempts to cue up every single file and appears to overflow whatever buffer it has for the queue listing. Why bother cue up every single filename? It basically has to go and search for every single file before even transferring anything. So even if it didn't freeze up i'd have to sit there for 10 minutes while it queues everything.

I would like to be able to have a txt file log off connections, ip addresses, and what downloaded/uploaded.

When the filezilla server interface is disconnected from a server the only data currently recorded is:

Connection to server closed. Trying to reconnect in 5 seconds Reconnecting to server...

And if it connects successfully:

Connected, waiting for authentication Logged on

It would be great to have timestamps for these events displayed in hte interface (no need to write them to the log, though a server log for interface actions might be nice). I would hope to see something like this:

For servers that do not have hundreds of FTP users at any given moment, this one detail can solve hours of digging through logs in dozens of different places trying to find the source of a problem.

FZ 3.0.2; Win XP Pro SP2

I just updated to 3.0.2, and now the message log area is visible but blank when I FTP. Before it was on 3-Verbose for debugging; changing this setting now doesn't help.

When Filezilla generates the log file, the cutoff time incorrectly follows the UTC instead of the machine's local time. Hence the logs supposedly for next day's is captured in the log file for that day.

i.e.

wherein the last column is the last update date/time of the file. Time is at +8 GMT.

The log gui sometimes overlaps the quick connect bar and menu bar.

OS: Windows 7 Pro.

I d/l the newest version of Filezilla upon the automatic prompt today when I opened Filezilla. Afterwards, I was unable to quick connect. I entered in my user / pw and am still unable to connect. I get a CRITICAL ERROR message.

I admit I am not very FTP savy...but unsure how to proceed. I have my username/pw written down, so I feel I am entering correct information.

If you turn on synchronized browsing with the above setup, the message log shows through the upper area of FileZilla (ie, the menu, search box, etc).

I would like to see the logging options expanded to allow logging to a standard syslog server running on udp 514. In the config form allow the user to enter the IP address for the syslog server. Maybe allow a non-standard port, that would be useful for some people.

I would only log items such as logins/logouts and file puts/gets.

I recently downloaded the new upgrade of FileZilla and now I get an error everytime I attempt to login. Upon logging in, I get 2 errors. First error states "Critical Error". Second error states "Could not connect to server". I never had a problem before upgrading and I am not doing anything differently.

I have been trying unsuccessfully to connect to my PVR for the past week or so. All I get is this message and then nothing...

Status: Connecting to 192.168.1.1:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...

No error message or any other activity.

I have tried the forums but they couldn't help.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled FileZilla Client onto my computer, and restarting my PVR, resetting to factory my PVR (it is able to get IceTV Guide and Programs and access my network via the LAN cable - its just FileZilla that doesn't seem to work).

What do I do now?

Previously, Success message are shown in green and failure messages are shown in red, now all output log are shown in black. This only occurs in new version 3.21.0 and there's no way to change this in settings.

regardless of what i set the log limit to it deletes all but the last three. Only started doing this last week and i upgraded to the latest version weeks ago. Going to set to do not delete and see if it makes a difference

Great product love it, I was just attempting to drop a line about a possible future enhancement to theProduct. I would be great to have in the history the time it took each file to transfer. Also if this could be kept in a log file for future reference. I do manny uploads that run into the evening an I like to determine how much time things took so I can gage the number of files I can upload next time.

It is not possible to transfer Files using SFTP over SSH if the Password contains a § sign.

This works in FileZilla 2.2.31.

FileZilla 3.0beta6 successfully authenticates and shows the diretory listing, however as soon as you want to actually transfer files, this fails with the error message "login failed".

Tested on Windows XP SP2 other Platforms maybe affected, too

when the ftp client is inputting the account name for "user authentication", the connection suddenly hangup,and the server (CPU) usage rate increased to 100% at the same time.

I've been using FileZilla Server and it's great -- better than any other FTP server I tried, including a number of commercial FTP servers, in fact.

I wanted to be able to use a larger welcome message, so I've patched the code (0.8.9) to accept lines up to 75 characters long ("220 " + 75 characters == 79) and the admin interface to accept up to 7500 characters in the text input widget. But then the admin interface and the on-disk log were showing my huge welcome message, which was irritating, so I also patched the code so that the welcome message will not be shown there (I added a switch to Send() to tell it whether or not to also display the output by calling SendStatus()).

Attached is an archive with my changed files and a diff. If you don't want to go the diff route, just search the changed files for "jason" -- I've commented each line I changed.

I did not select an accessable folder on the host and tried to upload a file. FileZilla client was looping. Once a critcal error condition is recieved from the host it should have stoped and reported the error. I stoped the loop by selecting an accessable folder.

WinXP Home; latest version 2.2.18 (also with 2.2.16):

after I upload a file FileZilla always/reproducibly loops and comsumes 100%-x CPU . until exit.

( In 2.2.16 I also remember: Looping Filezilla process didn't stop even if I exited Filezilla GUI; but not 100% sure. )

I noticed a strange bug in Filezilla 3.0.1. I use this tool for up- and downloading files to a USB stick attached to my WLAN router. During an upload of a ~120 MB file the log tells me that it got disconnected from the server, but the upload still went on (see screenshot). I couldn't find logs, if you tell me where to find them I will send them.

My OS is Windows XP Pro + SP 2(German).

Running 3.0 b7 using passive mode. MTU=1492, both client and server are behind Linksys NATed routers(use external IP feature is great). Ports are forwarded on both ends. Client=XP Media. Client is on 3000/250 cable, server is on 600/6000 DSL/PPPoE. Server is DLink DNS323(Unix L8)

I have seen this twice. While uploading folders containing 15 to 30 - 50-150K JPGs files to the server, the remote directories disappeared and the message "not connected to any server" appeared. The up load continued and completed successfully each time. Refresh would not show directory. Had to disconnect and reconnect to see folders and files.

For the second time in 2-3 months i lost my sites and got an empty sitemanager. The 1st time i used XML, now i used the registry. The same problem.

When it happened: when i quickly EXITED the program, while transfers where happening.

I'm using the very latest version. Please look at it, since it has been reported a couple of times.

I've been running Wimpdows XP (5.1 SP2) with v2.2.27 for awhile with few problems so I thought it'd be nice to see what's been added to the newer version - so I just D/Led 3.1.6 win32 and 3.1.6 for the Mac and installed win32 into my existing FZ directory and it promptly wiped out all 25+ site profiles. Nothing, wiped clean :(

Is there a way I can get them back - as I don't remember all the passwords ?

I know, shoulda backedup 1st :( - but for some reason, trusted your programme..

I have fixes for a mainframe system that is downloaded to a windows machine. This needs to be transferred to a mainframe in binary format. I had two files. One works just fine. The other one looses the first record. This is actually a key to the future processing of the record. This fix was sent to another user who used Bluezone transfer which worked fine.

I had a few funny things happen when i turned my computer on today, I had a few corrupted PSD files and when i opened Filezilla, my FTP site manager details are gone,

is there a file or file history where I can repair this or re-import this data.

When using a low speed windows network drive as the local site in Filezilla client 3.0 it is painfully slow. There is no useful indication by the program that it is busy, and any clicks/drags all catch up when it comes back to life (potentially causing havoc).

Low speed windows network drive = mapped drive letter to a remote site over a typical UK ADSL line (8Mbit down 800Kbit up)

If Internet connection breaks, any queue breaks too! There is no way to resume that transfer besides closing FZ, restarting, and new uploading then resume works BUT not always sending the file then completely! File broken! Stopping Queue and then starting again gets always an error: ftpcontrolsocket.cpp(1819): Waiting for replies to skip before sending next command... caller=0x10ae028

I would real recommend to add to the Process Queue etc; something like Pause Queue, and Resume Queue, and to secure that if any Internet connection was broken whilst transferring, that after some timeout and Internet connection is resumed transfer is restarting automatically and not as now crash the connection with that ftpcontrolsocket error! Our Internet connection cuts often off and comes back after 1-2 minutes only...

IP filters are not enough for remote logins, specially for admin - if you have DHCP too much addresses are allowed to log in. When logging in with previous provider I had just 3 filters for admin (~190.000 adresses were allowed), but now (biggest provider in the country, with many IP address ranges) I found that I've had to use much more filters also with xxx.*.*.* masks, so millions of adresses would be allowed! MAC address authentication (filtering) should solve this.

Humm i was wondering i know a freind who developes websites and he host people but he said it is really hard when a person has a mac because it is hard to find a good mac FTP program... and Filezilla is easy to use and very realible.

So can you guys make a future version MAC compatible???

I request a new feature of being able to calculate an MD5 checksum, or some other adequate checksum, on both local and remote files for file equality comparison. Remote files would need to be downloaded to a temporary location to compute the checksum. (or calculated 'on the fly' without actual physical storage locally) So you should be able to select one or more files and choose "Compute Checksum", and the values would be displayed as one of the optional columns for those files. The values would need to be erased if the file is re-uploaded or re-downloaded. It would be nice if the values were remembered as long as the directory wasn't changed, but they are really only needed for a moment's comparison and can then be forgotten. Optionally, or additionally, it would be nice to be able to select two files, one local and one remote, or perhaps even two local, or two remote, and choose a "Check Equality" button that computes the checksum of each file and tells you if the files are equal, or not. If you could select more than one file locally and remotely and have all of the equally named files compared, that would be nice, too.

For large downloads (like linux distros) where MD5 sums are offered, it would be really nice if FileZilla could compare its downloads to the sums offered to verify that everything was gotten correctly.

The md5sum for the file FileZilla_Server-0_9_23.exe as mentioned in FileZilla_Server-0_9_23.exe.md5 is incorrect (Two download locations gave a different but identical md5sum).

It appears that MDTM is only partially implemented. ? 'MDTM<sp>filename' returns a correct timestamp, but 'MDTM<sp>timestamp<sp>filename' returns '500 File not found' instead of changing the timestamp on the server. That is the key to the MDTM function -- update the timestamp on the server. Since the FEAT command reports MDTM implementation, I assume this is a bug.

This is a feature that I badly need and have been assured that many other FTP Servers do implement it.

Surely the ambiguity is only there if a file of that name *does* exist. If not then can FZ not accept the command as a request to update the timestamp?

In addition, the likelyhood of having such a filename must be so remote that the default should be to update file 'foobar' with what is a valid timestamp and only if the file does not exist should FZ try to find a file with name '20050726131800 foobar' and return its timesatamp.

Please could you re-consider, as this feature would make the life of synchronization programs so much simpler and more reliable.

it would be great to add a menu with pre-configured site commands for simple administrative tasks, which could popup the user for input...

example menu item: add->user

would pop up for example an input box with description "Please input user name! ie. john" and an editbox where the user could input that (let's say "user1" in this example),

and then another box for "Allowed IPS" +editbox where user could fill "192.168.0.10".

and then filezilla would send "site adduser user1 192.168.0.10" to the remote server

of course this would require some kind of file that holds the menu items..

something like

[add/user] command=site adduser $1 $2 1.desc=Please input user name!\nie. john 2.desc=Allowed IPs:\nie. 127.0.0.1

or whatever, best to keep it simple so people can make their own commands

If server clock is a little bit ahead client's one during the synchronization with MFMT command, than these lines will cause no time shown in the following LIST command reply, because t1 > t2.

The question is, what are these lines for? Isn't it easier to show both year and time always?

MFMT does not allow the hour to be zero. Also it allows it to be more than 23.

The problem is in ControlSocket.cpp where the hour is checked to be within 1 to 31 inclusive versus 0 to 23 inclusive.

Here is the wrong code:

"MFMT 20070319003137 file.dat" fails with "invalid date" message. It appears, that it does not accept 00:31:37 as a valid time - if I replace the 00 by 01, for instance, it works. "MDTM file.dat", on the other hand, returns 20070319003137 if the file date has been set by other means (copying by explorer :-)). Thanks

Leading spaces are truncated by MKD commands. Same issue also exists for files.
