Hello dears, I face this bug in all filezilla versions so please help me where is the problem.

THE BUG SCENARIO:

• I connect to the FTP successfully
• I open folders / files successfully
• suddenly when I open any file to (view / edit) it gives me this error :

Status: Starting download of /httpdocs/iis/application/views/Admin/allresults/index.php Status: ftpcontrolsocket.cpp(1865): Waiting for replies to skip before sending next command... caller=0p2743fe0

and nothing occurs after that till I close filezilla and open it again.

so please help me this can be occur many many many times.

Home network, three computers. Desktop computer with FTP server connected to router via a wired connection. Two laptop computers with Filezilla FTP clients connected to router via wireless connections; one runs Windows XP and an older Filezilla client, while the other runs Windows 7 and has the latest Filezilla client 3.11.0.2. Everything is DHCP.

Router dynamically assigned 192.168.0.101 to the desktop machine. Both laptop Filezilla FTP clients have entries in the Site Manager to connect to host 192.168.0.101. Both worked just fine for months and months.

Following a recent power outage, router dynamically assigned 192.168.0.100 to the desktop machine with FTP server. Site Manager on the Windows XP machine was updated to point to 192.168.0.100, and it works. Site Manager on the Windows 7 machine was updated to point to 192.168.0.100, but sometimes it works and sometimes it does NOT work. When it does NOT work, the router has assigned the Windows 7 laptop 192.168.0.101 (the previous address of the desktop FTP server). When it does work, the router has assigned the Windows 7 laptop some other IP, such as 192.168.0.103 (the most recent time it worked). When it fails, the messages are "Connecting to 192.168.0.100", "Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity", and "Could not connect to server". The automatic retry yields the same set of errors. Meanwhile, the FTP server on the desktop machine shows no attempt to connect from another machine on the home network. And the Windows XP machine has absolutely no trouble connecting.

Speculation: something in Filezilla "remembers" that the FTP server used to be 192.168.0.101 (even though the IP was changed in the Site Manager), so when the router assigns 192.168.0.101 to the Windows 7 laptop, Filezilla tries to connect to "itself" and fails. When the router assigns 192.168.0.103 (or 102, or 104, or 105) to the Windows 7 laptop, everything works just fine.

I suppose I could learn how to configure the router so that it forces a particular IP onto a machine and that would get around the problem, but it sure looks like there is a bug in Filezilla.

Annoying only! Everything else seems to work fine. Continuing evan shows the about dialog...

When I try to open a file without accent, there is no problem. When a folder has an accent, it's possible to go as far as the file required, but then it becomes impossible to take it from the FTP to open it. When I use internet Explorer 8, there is no problem. But when I use Filezilla I get the message 550/data/Administration/information ÃlÃ"ves (this represents élèves in French)

The environment variable used to locate an SSH agent should be SSH_AUTH_SOCK (with underscores) rather than SSHAUTHSOCK, in order to comply with what the rest of the world has already been using for the past several years.

When I click the tab on the remote server to sort by FILENAME, the list comes up in 2 sections, both alphabetized. Why does the list go A-Z and then start over at A-Z???

I'm attempting to delete a folder with one or more pdf files in it. There are currenlty 7,854 directories in /pdfs. I've done this many times before without issue.

Ex. path. "../pdfs/347555/347555.1588361310.pdf"

The error seems to occur *after* deletion when it attempts to update the directory listing.

I'm having trouble with editing of files. When I open Filezilla, and edit a file, no trouble. If I close that file in the associated application, then try to edit again through the Filezilla interface, I get an error that reads: "The file myFile could not be opened: The associated command failed."

myFile is the actual path and filename of the file I'm trying to edit.

I'm editing with Notepad++.

If I close Filezilla, and reopen, this error clears, but the process starts over - it only effects re-editing of a file that has already been edited.

Hello, i am sumbitting this ticket i discovered a few years ago while browsing files on my server. i think the issue is the 20% specifically. but i havent done any specific testing. just thought i would let you know about this issue, that i am quite surprised hasnt been reported yet.

i have verfified if i remove the "%" from the folder name i have no problem entering the folder. its been a while since i was messing with is, but if i recall properly i created a folder with just "%" and that opened just fine but again probably should verify that.

Annoyance level bug. I connect from a machine in PDT Timezone, to a server (Linux, CentOS) in same PDT Timezone. FileZilla shows my times are an hour different. Both machines report they are PDT. For some reason, I can see at the beginning of the session this calculation (which is wrong):

My Windows 7 Professional machine clearly states it is PDT, as well my Linux server reports the same.

Steps: Open FileZilla for website using synchronized browsing. Edit and save a local file. Popup shows asking confirmation to upload edited file. When confirmed FileZilla transfers the file to the root-directory of the remote site, instead of the synchronized directory shown at the right-hand side.

I am working under Windows XP SP3 with filezilla client 3.3.2

I am extensively using the "Folder compare" feature of filezilla client and I am using the option to preserve timestamps when uploading files.

After uploading a file on the box, filezilla client still says that the files are not the same. There is a 1 hour difference in the timestamps.

I am connected to a remote linux box throught its sftp server

The linux box is not on the same timezone as I am.

I don't get this behaviour when I use an other sftp client like winscp so I guess this must be a bug coming from filezilla.

FTP client used: Filezilla 2.2.13c (WIN2000) FTP server used: Serv-U FTP-Server v2.5i for WinSock

When I upload a file I've uploaded before, but that is shorter than the version already on the server, I've now 2 times encountered that the chunk of text the old file is larger, just got appended to the new file.

so schematically:

new file: (local)

a b c

old file: (remote) w x y z

results in new file (remote, after upload) a b c z

I've had 2 occurences of such file during one transfer (in queue) of multiple files. When I reuploaded the same/unchanged files (by drag&drop this time) the problem was gone. PS: during manual upload filezilla warned me a file of the same file size was going to be overwritten....

OS : Windows Vista Premium Family Edition 32bit FileZilla Client v.3.0.8.1 but bug also in older versions. Bug not present in the first version I use 3 years ago on windows XP. -- When client connected to the FTP, impossible to send/download files. The error message on the console is "530 sorry account already used, connexion to server impossible"

I have to add the files I want to send/download to the transfer list, then disconnect from the FTP, and process the transfer list.

I dont know if it's a problem from my internet provider (orange, france) or from the software.

There is enough space on the disk.

I have no problems with SFTP using SSH. When I attempt FTP over SSL (or TSL) with explicit encryption in passive mode, I get partial uploads and zero byte uploads. This is a critical failure of FileZilla, which I have hitherto loved.

Tested with the Aug 21 release.

I've attempted to build FZ3 (3.0.0 and 3.0.1) for Cygwin (cygwin-1.5.24, gcc-3.4.4, wxGTK2-2.8.4), but the build fails when linking filezilla.exe:

filezilla-QueueView.o: In function `_Z41static_initialization_and_destruction_0ii': /usr/include/wx-2.8/wx/event.h:2266: undefined reference to `impfzEVT_GRANTEXCLUSIVEENGINEACCESS'

I'm not sure why this is happening, but I did notice that this is the only wxEvent call that appears in more than one source file.

After updating this morning, the new version failed to login on my Server. Restoring the system - and everything worked perfectly - with the old version 3.9.0.2

clicking on any of the buttons has no effect. Only button that works is the "Open Site Manager" button. But even this one, not when clicked directly, only when clicking on one of the items in the dropdown list.

FileZilla client is friezing when trying to open local directory named like "domainname.com".

can't change local folder when in sync mode, only can do in remote pane

When I stick the Filezilla window to the edge of the screen, I can't click "quick connect" and choose the options. See the screenshot.

Today when I launched Filezilla it asked me to update it. After the upgrade to new version I got error connecting to the ftp server. I checked with other people and they have no problem connecting . Filezilla version is 6.1. 2015-01-07. I attached the complete error messages to this ticket. Please advice.

I have just downloaded filezilla version3.2.4.1 and have entered all my details but when I press connect I get the following message: connecting to 213.171.218.174:21 connection timed out could not connect to server I read the notes on your website and searched through previous questions which talk about incorrect ip addresses so I have checked that info . this is as far as it gets before stopping. I never get a directory listing, I *suspect* because there is another connection on another thread, as shown in the debug log (resolver thread?). don't know, since I didn't write it.

in any case, I can't connect to this server, because unlike other web hosting companies, this one has the requirement of only 1 connection to the sever, and I think Filezilla client is taking more than what it should. it is set for 1.

When connecting Filezilla with my FTPServer I can download all files, but I can't upload new ones or delete them. by pressing the delete botton it asks me if I want to delete but after clicking "yes" and refreshing the files are still there. When selecting a file to upload and clicking the "upload" botton nothing happens. I use FileZilla client version 3.3.5.1 and no antivirus or firewall is running.

right clicking on a remote directory, choosing "delete" and answering "yes" to the following question deletes all the files in a remote directory, but not the remote directory itself (which I think it should).

Same thing happens if I'm using a keyboard command.

The directory is still there--even after restarting filezilla. So this doesn't appear to be a caching problem with the client.

On Linux (issue does not affect Windows), attempting to drag a file from the local to remote pane does not work if the filename has a percent symbol ("%").

For example, if you attempt to drag a file named test%20test.txt from local to remote, nothing happens -- no message is appended to the message log; no item is added to the transfer queue.

This issue is especially problematic when the user highlights and drag-and-drops multiple files, as they may not notice that not all of the files they selected get queued.

If the user instead right-clicks on test%20test.txt and selects "Upload", the file is uploaded normally.

Using View / Edit - lowercase and uppercase files of same name results in error

When dragging files with long file names (or folders containing them) in 3.0.10 from a ProFTPD host to a Vista client, they are added to the cue, but not copied. (No error note is shown.) It's a problem solely in FileZilla, Vista itself can handle those file names without problems. So the workaround is, if one knows about this bug: rename the files to shorter file names, copy them, rename them back. Outside of FileZilla, because it cannot even rename them back on the Vista client.

I've made no changes to FileZilla. PC is clean of viruses/malware per a full scan. Trying to download current website content in prep for monthly updates. Filezilla pauses then restarts, but after a few iterations of this gives the error message: "421 Too many connections (8) from this IP"

My host checked on their end, and noted that if their server wasn't clearing connection, it'd crash soon. Kinda makes sense.

Their only suggestion was to reinstall FileZilla, suggesting that a config file has become corrupted. Is this my only option?

The operating system was reset from XP home to XP Pro by the adaware program update - don't ask how - I have no idea, and neither does anyone else. BUT it reset all my accounts.

filezilla breaks off the connection when I try to upload files to zymic

we are a TPA that accesses files for clients through filezilla. we are unable to login as of wednesday - attached screen print we do have another client with filezilla and are able to access those files

Using ssh in terminal and Transmit can connect to the same server and never failed. by going right click, delete folder it does:

but if you try to rename or delete the directory you will encounter error because the command sent does not account for the spaces at the end. eg

RMD DIRECTORYHERE will fail.

however, sending manual command

RMD DIRECTORYHERE«enter same number of spaces the directory actual has»

results in successful removal or rename.

Sometimes (from time to time, maybe this depend on mix utf8 and iso-8859-2 coding and server configuration) I have a problem with download files contains specific characters such as ą,ę,ł,ż,ź,ć,ń (from polish language). These names of files are displayed correctly but transfer ends in failure.

I cannot install new versions of your program. Everytime I try, I get an error message that says "timer creation failed."

Is there any way to get past this and install the new updates?

Before the last update I was able to drag a selected file from the Local site to my mail app to another app in the dock. I used this to mail files from Filezilla without having to go to Finder. Since the last update Filezilla will not let me drag files from there any more.

since update this morning I cannot move/drag files from one folder to a subfolder. file is there, I can transfer to my computer and back, but cannot drag to a subfolder - tells me "no such file or directory" but it is clearly there and I have done it for years.

I've never had a problem with earlier versions. Can I delete this last update and download an earlier version? I have a deadline of TODAY to complete my website and this is the only way I have of editing...I don't want to have to switch to another editor, I've been using Filezilla for years and this is the first time I've had a problem. I just tried to upload my site files with Filezilla and everything uploaded correctly except my .js javascript files. I tried to research the problem online and found a lot of useless comments about the file type and ASCII or binary, but no instructions or help on actually overcoming the issue. Can I change some settings in Filezilla, i.e. change the way .js files are read, or is there some way to reformat my files before uploading?

It may happen that the fs on the ftp server is different that on the client so on machine where you do not have ssh or any other type of access it is legitimate to create symbolic links that are broken on your local machine but will work fine on the remote site. Unfortunately filezilla follow the link, do some checks on the file that fails and abor the upload.

Since upgrading FileZilla (current version is 3.2.1), I am unable to connect to a server. I have two server connections established, and I've ensured that the settings are accurate. They are the same for each server. I have no issue connecting to the first server, but connection fails on the second server. It is not able to validate my security certificate. I do not get beyond AUTH TLS or AUTH SSL (error: 431 could not initialize SSL connection; could not connect to server). This was not an issue prior to upgrading to v3.2.1.

Also, my connection to the first server seems to only last for a short time, and then I am automatically disconnected from the server (error message: Disconnected from server: ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted). This, too, did not happen before the upgrade.

i cant go up past the c: to my computer. so i can see all my drives.

When i upload a file into our server, which is a newly created one, i get the following error message. Response: 550 permission denied Error: Critical Error Status: disconnected from server

It is as if i can read the info on the server but cannot write to it.

Trying to save settings to send to client. Click on Export, FileZilla immediately closes, without saving any data.

I select one folder or file by clicking once, it shows highlighted with blue bar. Then when i again clicks for drag and drop the selected file/folder name becomes text box for renaming it, even though drag and drop works fine.

I think if I clicked another time after some delay then it should not become editable, right?

Since the most recent update I've been unable to launch filezilla. I've even deleted the app and re-downloaded it from the website to be sure I'm using the latest version.

I hunted for files in Library to delete to have a completely fresh install but couldn't find any supporting files.

• filezilla client is not listening to the settings I have in Edit|Settings to resume on upload (defaults on Transfer|Default file exists action...)
• or filezilla client is choosing to do a STOR when it gets a ECONNRESET, which ruins my upload resumes.

my uploads take multiple days, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. quota is not a problem because that is not in the log for this file. I have been having this problem over and over. someone please fix.

when making the columns bigger the temp guide line doesnt disappear after you resize the columns. you can min/max the window to get rid of it tho.

With the latest update, when I log into a site that generates command output that causes the window to scroll, the toolbar gets overwritten. It seems that the boundaries of the output window is put over the toolbar. After the toolbar gets obscured, hovering over most of the icons returns them to view.

I am using Filezilla version 3.10.0-beta3. Avast free edition anti-virus(latest version 2015.10.0.2208) Windows 8.1 platform(up to date).

The last time that I updated the Compila hosted site was 29th November 2014 so would have used version 3.9.0.6 at that time.

I reported the problem to 'support' at Compila and they could find nothing wrong and could access the servers with my website files on.

I have always updated to the latest Filezilla version and in this case have solved my problem by reverting to version 3.9.0.6 - all now works fine. There seems to be a possible bug with version 3.10.0.

I am trying to download files and after 5 minutes connection is aborted. The files are about 1.5 GB. Previously the time estimate was 1.5 hours. Now it is over 8. This has been going on for about week. Possibly occuring after the leatest version was downloaded.

I have a ftp server (vsftpd) on a Amazon Web Services EC2 virtual machine in a production environment. It's behind a Load Balancer, I access it using filezilla in passive mode for datas (vsftpd is configured to give the direct ip instead of using the load balancer for datas). Data and control channel thus have different ips. I use classic ftp (no ssl or whatever).

After exactly 60 seconds of transfer (upload or download, juste big enough to last more than 60seconds) i get a "server closed connection" error, for any version of filezilla (>=3) that didnt segfault i tried. But VSFTPD never actually closed the connection...

I looked into filezilla source code, the problem seems to come around in src/engine/ftpcontrolsocket.cpp. There is a control that seems to provoke the bug in CFtpControlSocket::OnReceive... By commenting it the problem disappear

the transfers stall a few seconds in the end of the transfer (it might be this test purpose) but i dont lose my connexion and the file transfered is ok.

Without the ELB (using the same ip for control and data) i dont get the initial problem.

I dont think this a good fix, but it does fix the problem for me.

i cannot connect to filezilla I keep getting a ECONNREFUSED message at first it was user and password problems but now i think i have got that problem solved but i cannot connect and the bottom line is i may need someone to walk me through the setup its my first time at this website building also another issue may be that i am tethering because we do not have internet service where i live yet any help you can give would be greatly appreciated also i am not sure about the passwords and the host are they the passwords that i registered on filezilla with or are they the justhost passwords dazed and confused

under connection, the timeout in seconds will revert to 10 secs and not accept the zero to disable the timeout.

When I try to connect to the host server for our website the connection times out. It appears that the login information is not being submitted to the server.

When I use Filezilla 2.2.32 I do not have the same problem. The beta version of Filezilla is 3.0.1

In FileZilla Client 3.1.6, src/interface/Options.cpp declares a t_default_option structure containing a const wxChar array (name[30] - see line 132). However, such a const array can never be initialised, so HP's C++ compiler in HP-UX 11.X refuses to compile the source code. I removed the const keyword and this fixed the problem.

I had this problems more than once in the last weeks now. I download a couple of files from an FTP and at least one of the files is corrupt or has the completely wrong content.

It's also recognisable, if you watch the queue process and you see a file downloading although, it already reached 100%.

Unfortuntaley I don't have a lot of information, except, that the server is using SSL and my lient version is 2.2.32.

I try to reproduce it and get the raw FTP command log.

A menu continues below the bottom of the viewport, so the bottom commands cannot be seen.

Steps to reproduce:

0. This is based on the display resolution being 1440x900.

1. Access a directory on either side of the window.

2. Navigate to a directory that has no more than three folders (not counting the ".." pseudofolder) (I don't know whether the monitor's window size affects the number of folders and files relevant to this bug) and enough files to populate the pane to the bottom of the pane.

3. Select the file on the bottom of the pane.

4. Without vertically scrolling, context-click (usually right-click) that file. You'll get a menu but you won't be able to see the bottom of the menu.

5. Tap the up-arrow just once. This will select the bottom command even though you can't see that selection.

6. Keep tapping and count the taps (probably one or two more) until you have selected a command and you can read the selection.

7. Tap esc to dismiss the menu without selecting a command.

8. For a comparison showing proper menu behavior, select a file near the the top of the pane.

9. Context-click that file. You'll get a menu and you'll be able to see all of it.

10. Dismiss the menu without selecting a command.

Actuality: Truncation of menu, per STR 4.

Expectation: Whole menu no matter which file or folder we context-click.

Additional information:

When truncation could occur, the top of the menu should be above the file or folder selection, so that all of its commands are visible.

I tested selecting 3 adjacent files at the bottom of the viewport, putting the cursor (a pointer) at the bottom file in the selection, and context--clicking. The menu began at the cursor. Therefore, in some circumstances the menu should begin above the cursor, not at the cursor.

To summarize, when you use exceptions in your code, you may handle them in the following places, in order of priority:

In a try/catch block inside an event handler. In wxApp::OnExceptionInMainLoop(). In wxApp::OnUnhandledException().
