can't maintain connection, duplicate connections?

I've made no changes to FileZilla. PC is clean of viruses/malware per a full scan. Trying to download current website content in prep for monthly updates. Filezilla pauses then restarts, but after a few iterations of this gives the error message: "421 Too many connections (8) from this IP"

Could not connect to server
My host checked on their end, and noted that if their server wasn't clearing connection, it'd crash soon. Kinda makes sense.
Their only suggestion was to reinstall FileZilla, suggesting that a config file has become corrupted. Is this my only option?

Can you provide logs of "Filezilla pauses then restarts"?
