Description
I would like the ability to enter a search term (optional wildcards, optional case sensitivity, optional search subfolders), and have it find files in the FTP server.

FileZilla has a search facility built in already, and it seems to do what you requested; "Server" -> "Search remote files…".
Feel free to re-open this item and elaborate by stating what actually is missing or what you want the functionality to offer which is not yet implemented.
