#7912 closed Bug report (fixed)

Filezilla does not recognize 'pageant' since version > 3.5.0

Keywords: pageant, smart card authentication, putty sc Cc:
Component version: Operating system type: Windows
Operating system version: win7 sp1

sftp authentication worked well until including version 3.5.0.
Later versions ignore pageant, they just recognize plain key files.

I tested it with the latest version 3.5.3 on a 64-bit Win7 system
and Pageant Release 0.60.

Error message on connect:
Fehler: Disconnected: No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey,keyboard-interactive)
Fehler: Herstellen der Verbindung zum Server fehlgeschlagen

After downgrading to version 3.5.0, with exacltly the same setup, pagaent ist recognized again.

I just started using smart cards + pageant + filezilla and found that filezilla can't use the pageant.exe version that has been enhanced with smart card support (the putty-sc or putty-cac projects). When I downgraded filezilla to version 3.5.0, the smart card login + filezilla works as expected. pageant without the smart card functionality DOES work with newer versions of filezilla. This bug report may be related to the smart card support for modified versions of pageant. I hope someone can investigate since I'd like to be able to run new versions of filezilla in the future.

I'm using the feitian epass2003 usb token with pageant.

This problem exists on the current stable release of filezilla client 3.5.3.

Thank you for this excellent software.

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

I just tested with the latest version of pageant (v0.62). My issue with key file recognition seems to be fixed now. Use latest pageant (v0.62) and latest filezilla client (v3.53)now.
