Keywords: | Moving files on AIX | Cc:
Component version: | Operating system type: | Windows
Operating system version: | Windows 7 Pro (64bit) |
Description
When I open up a connection to an AIX server and I wish to move files from one directory to another using the explorer window, I get a mv dir1/file1 dir2/file1 : fail No reason as to the failure.
I use the same username and password that I used for the conenction to do an ssh on the same server that I did in Filezilla and issue the command from the command line. No problems and the files move from one location to another with no errors.

Does this work when you are using a command line FTP client? To me it looks like the FTP server refuses that operation but does not give a reason. So if even other FTP clients do not work, the FTP server is to blame and not any FTP client.
Can you please try and report back?
