folder starts with two slashes

Description
If you enter a folder after connecting to a server,
that begins with two slashes (), they are replaced by
a single slash (/).
Example:
fh-kroesus/data1/kurs
is converted to:
/fh-kroesus/data1/kurs
Response: 550 Invalid Path
Error: Could not retrieve directory listing
