Cannot delete folders where files *.*~ are stored

I had some folders in which were uploaded some hidden linux files *.*~
(with a trailing tilde). I was unable to view these files and delete folders that contained them. (I solved using winscp who recognize them)

There's no such thing as "hidden linux files". Some of the tools you use have the habit of lying to the user and not display all files by default, but Linux (the kernel) always displays all files.

Likewise, FileZilla always displays everything by default, unless the user explicitly chooses not to show certain files by using the directory listing filters.

In other words, only a conceptionally broken server hides files.
