Description
I experience very slow startuip of FileZilla on my laptop.
It takes about 40 seconds to FileZilla window
to appear after I clicked the icon.
Configuration is following:
HP omnibook 6000,
PIII-850, 512MB
Windows 2000 SP4
On my home PC it starts quickly.

I did clean reinstall as you described (even twice), but no
luck.
It's still the same. Filezilla appears in the list of tasks
almost
immediately but window cames up only after 40 sec.
I also tried to install with registry option instead of
default XML...

OK, one thought came to my mind and it was the right one.
I deleted 3 mapped network drives (which were not available
at the time) and FileZilla starts instantly now.
Shouldn't that be a bug still...
FileZilla should start within seconds. It could be possible that
the settings xml file or the settings within the registry got
corrupted.
Try to delete the file FileZilla.xml and the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FileZilla and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\FileZilla registry.
This deletes all settings as well as all sitemanager and queue
entries.
After that reinstall FileZilla, it should start within seconds
then.
