Description
When using the client to connect to a UNIX/Linux server on the Internet, the client defaults to *not* show hidden files. By going to "Server / Force show hidden files" and enable this, you are presented with a pop-up window claiming that servers not showing hidden files even whn the -a opion is not included in the LIST/ll command, are broken. The opposite is actually the case. Servers should not default to ignore the hidden file functionality. The hidden file functionality is there for a reason.
Whether or not the client should show hidden files by default is a question of taste. However, the placement of the toggle option is maybe not the best. I personally looked for it in the View menu. On this web page:

They also find the place surprising.
Then how comes this is not covered by RFC 959?
As a matter of fact RFC 959 clearly states that commands have only one argument and that argument to LIST is a pathname. An RFC compliant server will list the directory "-a" on "LIST -a".
Fix your damn broken servers already so that they show all files by default.
