Upload Overwrite Condition Problem

Reported by: Chris Barth Owned by:
Priority: normal Component: FileZilla Client
Keywords: Cc:
Component version: Operating system type: Windows
Operating system version: XPSP2

Description

When I'm uploading to my Godaddy FTP account I have a website with a bunch of pictures that I just upload all at once. I choose the method to overwrite if newer or different size. I find that even though files at Godaddy are newer and are the same size as reported by FileZilla they are overwritten.

The files are several MB and the date on the server is newer by 2 or more years in some cases.

FileZilla version 3.1.3.1

The two attachments are screen shots of what I'm seeing in FileZilla. The first one shows a transfer about to happen, and the second one shows the transfer happening, even though it shouldn't. You'll notice from these that there are some files that are properly skipped, but not all. Image 0861, 0862, and 0863 were all properly skipped, image 0864 wasn't skipped.

As you can see from the files dates, I uploaded these files in March, then updated the site on the 12th of October and some pictures in that folder were re-uploaded though they weren't modified as can be seen from the source date. Then I uploaded the site again and these same files were uploaded again.

Unfortunately your screenshots do not show all the details: Local file including date and time, remote date and time AND the very same file in transfer. One always missing.

Also, note that filenames are case sensitive. foobar, FOOBAR, FoObAr are considered different files.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
