Japanese Files not Xfering

Version:3.0.8.1
O/S: Windows XP Pro SP 2

I am no longer able to transfer files that contain Japanese characters. It works fine in version 2.2.13a. Attached is a log that shows the output of both versions.

You need to upgrade to an UTF-8 capable server.

Thanks. Since that is not possible (it's not my server) could you let me know what is the latest stable version of Filezilla that is not broken (er fixed) in this regard?

Suggestion: add an option to continue to allow this incorrect but widespread behavior. I think you're ahead of the curve. Is there a reason to stop allowing this (besides the fact that it may not be standards compliant)?
