Description (last modified by )
It would be nice if the filezilla client and server
icons were different, that way when both are minimized
to the systray they can easily be distinguished.
(maybe just adding an S to the FZ for the server
icon?). Also, it would be nice if the client icon
changed depending on its connected state as well, maybe
red for not connected, yellow for connected but not
transferring files, and green for transfer in
progress. not major issues, but something that
shouldn't be too difficult to do, no?

maybe just an FC and FS or just changing FZ to FS for the
server and leaving the client idea. Definitely not
something that should take mucho time. If i wasn't
separated from my main box, i'd work on several ideas to see
how they came out, but alas, i'm traveling right now.

I also have a suggestion on how this could be done...
For the FileZilla icon in the tray, one left click would bring up
a small menu to choose which instance of FileZilla to bring up
(obviously those instances should be unique and can be
easily identified...).
Plus, I suggest changing the color of the FileZilla Server
icon. First reason is to distinguish the server from the client,
second is, it doesn't really make much sense to have identical
icons for both programs with very different functions.
Perhaps, changing the Fz into a different color? Maybe, from
yellow to blue, and when connected, it changes to green like
it is now, and when downloading, it changes to purple? (this
is very similar to Serv-U FTP but what the heck... _)

i'm attaching some icons i whipped up based on the old ones.
i'm not a graphic designer, so they probably look like
crap, but it's the best i could do. I didn't change all of
the multi-icon files, since i doubt these will be adopted.
Also, i made the client icons with green and red lettering.
green for when there is an active file transfer and red for
when the client is not connected to anything. i think
yellow should be used when the client is connected to a
server, but not transferring files. Just in case you find
yourself bored and with nothing else to do ;P

Triage suggestion
The icons in FileZilla Client and FileZilla Server are now different.
I suggest closing this ticket as "fixed".

You're right, the identical icons are a problem somehow.
I did already try to add an S to the server icon, but that did
look really terrible.
The big problem is that the icons are 16x16 pixels large and
(at least on Win9x) limited to 16 colors, it's really difficult to
create good icons.
I'll look if I can find a solution for the icon problem.
