Custom "anti-timeout" command

Description

I would be great if there would be an option to setup
the "anti-idle-timeout" command.

Commands like REST 0 and PWD fail.
I get an "No transfers for over 300s" timeout anyway.

E.g. I can setup "Flash-FXP FTP-Client" to
automatically retrieve a directory listing every 200
seconds. And I don´t get these timeouts anymore.

I won't add such a feature to FileZilla. There are a lot of
disadvantages for being connected to a server for a long time
without doing something:

  • You're wasting resources on the server
  • You may block a slot on the server if the maximum number

of connections is limited so some ppl may not be able to
connect

  • It's a waste of bandwidth: The keep alive command for 5

mins take more bandwidth than disconnecting and
reconnecting 5 minutes later.

Even the way Flash-FXP tries to keep the connection alive
won't work with all FTP servers: Good servers only count real
transfers, not directory listings.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
