It would be great if Filezilla Server could run as a
service.

Writing services is not easy. One big problem is that a
service in most cases has no user interface, so I would
actually have to write two programs: The servive itself and
an userinterface program which controls the service.
Another problem is the difference between all the different
Windows versions (W95, 98 and ME are quite similar to each
other but a lot different (and far not as good) compared
with NT/2K/XP.
I'll try to chage FileZilla Server into a service program,
but it will require time, time I don't have due to
FileZilla. Damn client, will it ever be finished? ;-)
In two months I have more time to work on FileZilla
(Server), maybe I'll start coding the service then.

I (too) wanted to run FileZilla Server as a service and I used FireDaemon for that task, enabling FileZilla
Server to be started automatically after a system restart.
It works but I've had to copy the configuration in registry from a location to another
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and not user) to make it works even if the user who installed the server is not
logged in.
It would be helpful to make it possible to choose the registry key into which the configuration data were
stored.
Many thanks for now (and sorry for my poor english).
